Hi,
The way to do that would be to use jQuery post function http://api.jquery.com/jQuery.post/ and submit the web app search form using that function, then capture the results and display them on the page.

JavaScript is outside of support's scope so I can not unfortunately offer more help on this, but I hope this gives you an idea of what you need to do.

Can I cluster a web app that uses Spring and iBATIS?

I have a web app that uses Spring and iBATIS. It runs great on a single server. I am now trying to get it to run in a cluster. I went through the code and made all the classes serializable. Also, I added the distributable tag to the web.xml. I then deployed it to two clustered app servers.
When I logon and use the web app, everything goes well. Then, as a test, I determine which app server is being used and stop the web app on it. As I try to continue my session, the following exceptions are generated from the other node:
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: No SqlMapClient specified.
The exception is being thrown from the Spring code. Is there something else I need to do to get Spring and iBatis to work in a clustered environment.
Also, I see a lot of references to Terracotta as a clustering solution. Will Terracotta work with Oracle App Server?

I think my session information is being shared. I've configured the default application in my OC4J configured for peer-to-peer clustering. Before I did this, if I shut down the instance I was using, it would fail-over to the other application server but my session would be gone and I would be forced to logon again. But once I was logged on, everything ran smoothly.

Logging with log4j in a Web app that uses TopLink

The deployment engineer in my company is reporting problems with our first Web app that uses both log4j and TopLink. Apparently TopLink is failing to initialize correctly when log4j-1.2.8.jar is deployed to the WEB-INF/classes directory within the Web app.
I know that 9iAS's Enterprise Manager uses an older version of log4j and I wonder if TopLink uses an older version too.
Are there any known problems when using log4j 1.2.8 with TopLink 9.0.3?

Unfortunately, when I asked the deployment engineer for more information on the problem, he couldn't provide any, and since he moved the log4j library out of the application's WEB-INF\classes directory he can't reproduce the problem (whatever it was).
Based on a variety of factors (including your response) I suspect that the people who encountered the problem misinterpreted the cause.
If I can get him to put the log4j library back in WEB-INF\classes and get more specific information about the problem, and it still looks like a conflict between TopLink and log4j, I'll post the errors here.

Publishing to Azure Web App when using nuget "Microsoft.SqlServer.Types" crashes WebDeploy

I have a project where I use "Microsoft.SqlServer.Types" that loads an assembly manually as part of the package.
The problem arises when I publish this via Visual Studio. I get an error that the file is already in use from WebDeploy. This is probably because of how the assemblies are loaded or something that makes them locked.
Repro steps:
Create an ASP.NET web and add nuget package "Microsoft.SqlServer.Types" and make sure you load the assembly using the provided ReadMe.txt in your App_Start.
Deploy to Azure Web App.
Deplay again when the app is up and running - you'll get the error.
Does WebDeploy have an option for shutting down the site when updating or something like that? This error also apply to any WebJobs that also use the "Microsoft.SqlServer.Types" package.

How to find out the web/app server used by OBIEE and OBIEE HomePath (Urgent

Hi All ,
I have two questions
1) I wanted to know the OBIEE home path if it is installed on the some other machine (Client's Machine).
I wanted to update the .css files present on the machine, but before updating the file i should know the home path, to reach the desired .css file and update accordingly. I dont know where they have installed OBIEE.By default OBIEE home is (c:\) but if the user has selected some other drive then, how we can find the OBIEE Home path?
I have the access to the machine.
2) The path of the CSS files depends on the web server used by OBIEE.
When IIS web server is used, the CSS files in OracleBI_HOME\web\app\res directory
when OC4J is used, the CSS files in OracleBI_HOME\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\analytics\analytics\res
so inorder to update i must know which server is being used.
Is there any way to find out which web application server is installed on the clients machine?

Excel web app - simultaenous use & filtering

I've been led to understand that the only way to have true multi-user simultaneous editing of an Excel spreadsheet is to for all users to use the Excel web app to access the spreadsheet.
Whilst this is not a problem, I have found that if one person filters the spreadsheet, it then appears filtered to all users. Is there any way to stop this? I don't understand why this should be the case, since filtering is purely a view option and does
not alter the data (unlike e.g. sorting).

As I understand, you encounter the issue that multiple uses can edit the document via Excel Online at the same time. I can reproduce this issue on my side per your description.
It is an new improvement on Office Web App called “real-time co-authoring”, which helps us see where the co-authors are working in the document so that we don’t create conflicts as we edit.

As a workaround, if you don’t want the other users to filter the spreadsheet at the same time, I recommend that you can enable the “Require Check Out” function in the “Version Settings” of the Library Settings.
Then, once a user checked out the document, others can’t edit it at the same time.

How to FTP an elaborate template into a BC web app making use of dreamweaver cc?

I need to provide my web app creation in Business catalyst with a better template through 'FTP' which is possible with dreamweaver CS6 as it is integrated with BC, But I have the creative cloud version'DREAMWEAVER CC' Is there a plug-inn? or should I venture to another FTP route to upload more elaborate templates to my BC web app? I'm creating this BC site purely as a database which I would plant into a site.
I have done the cs6 trial period before I opt into the creative cloud, so that option is out of the window. DREAMWEAVER CC as part of the cloud just as BC should really be connected even more so than cs6! What can I do?

Lync 2013 Web APP browsers using up 100% CPU

This problem only began this week. Lync Web App is spiking CPU usage, at times up to 100%. Primarily with the presenter speaking. thus causing the speaker to sound robotic. Is anyone else experiencing this issue.

As your problem happens when presenter speaking, I suppose the problem is related with Sound Card driver.
Please try to uninstall the Sound Card driver and install the latest driver.

Query on web app generation using Designer6

We are trying to generate webServer applications using Designer6. The genearted applications run fine with OAS 4.0.
We are facing problem in Writing User defined routines (Javascript/ PL/SQL).
1. How do we use the values of the fields defined in module components and manipulate them. i.e. if we want to perform validations using Javascript, what variables we use?

if you save As .unv file in your local machine. Open webi rich client you see 3 vertical folder--> open a document-> select you local file>draw the graph
This is the stand alone applications....
another process is connect with repository: export universe to repository, and from webi rich client click (create a new document based on a data soure icon) and select universe--->draw the graph

SSO to Web App using Application Integrator - not working

Hi,
I've set up App Integrator for my web application, following the Yahoo example in the guide. My URL template is <System.protocol>://<System.server><System.uri>?<Authentication> and the fraction for user mapping is op=<MappedUser>&pwd=<MappedPassword>.
It doesn't log me in. Even if I change the URL template to the actual address of my web app and use a real user & password (rather than <Mapped..>), it still doesn't work.
I've got SSO to my web app working using a HTTP system and URL iview but I would really like to see the App Integrator working as well. Any ideas?

Can anyone please help with this? I installed a http sniffer so maybe I could see what was going on. My HTTP System simply goes to the URL with the parameters added as expected, but the app integrator one is a bit more complex - I can see the URL & parameters in this function:

How can I use a web app to provide me with results from a matrix?

I have a need to set up a search type box based off a matrix. This is a matrix which shows a list of zip codes down the left column, and a list of products across the top, and the corresponding field from a zip code and a product is the freight rate.
e.g.
          Product 1     Product 2     Product 3     Product 4
1234     $10               $12               $14               $16
4567     $11               $11               $13               $17
5678     $55               $54               $27               $35
so the freight rate to 4567 for product 3 is $13.
Then what i want to have is a drop down list for a customer to select the product, then a field to enter their zip code, and the search result will be the cross referenced freight rate.
Is this possible? If so, can someone guide me as to how this would be done?

Throw this open to the community to chip in, but off the top of my head.... thinking of something along lines of:
Create 3 web apps,
Product (Fields Product Name & ProductID)
Zipcode (Fields Area Desc & Zipcode)
Freight Rates (Fields FreightRateID (made up of ProductID_ZipCode), Freight Rate)
Create a web app search form for Web App Freight Rates with:
Product select, with options drawn from web app 1 using ProductID for value.
Zipcode select, with options drawn from web app 2 using Zipcode for value.
Hidden FreightRateID field.
Once a visitor has selected their product and zipcode, using javascript concatenate the selected ProductID with selected Zipcode.
This will produce a FreightRateID (e.g. PROD1_4567), which can be loaded into the hidden FreightRateID field.
When submitted, it will perform a web app search for a Freight Rate that matches the chosen product and zipcode, ie. FreightRateID.
To make entry of the freight rates easier, maybe add 2 datasource fields to the Freight Rate web app for Product and Zipcode.
Then create a front end web app add/edit (via a secure zone) to allow entry to be done by:
Select product, select zipcode then enter freight rate. (FreightRateID can be created and populated in same way as search above)

Problem on web app using root context in weblogic 7.0.2

I got problem on servlet which running on root context "/" in weblogic 7.0.2. I have remove the default web app (which use the root context) before the web app. The web application was deployed without any error. However, when the servlet run to the line calling HttpSession.setAttribute, the following exception occurs. The weblogic server is running on Solaris 8. anyone can help?

          We are facing the same problem; i.e. we are getting the same error message when we are trying to run our struts application on Weblogic 7.0.5 using JDK 1.3.1. This problem occured particularly when we tried to do a load testing using approx 20 concurrent users (a lesser load was supported though). Can you please let us know how this problem was sorted out on your end?

Can I use same connection pool on multiple web app?

I have several web applications on my domain, and they all share the same database.
I am using TOMCAT 4, and I've wrote my own pool, but the problem is that there are also some other domains on the server, so I can't put my connection pool in the tomcat's share or common directory.
Right now, I am thinking of switching to use tomcat's datasource implementation. How do I configure the datasource so that all my web apps will use the same connection pool?

There's no actual webapp configuration when using Datasources... your Java code accesses the Datasource through JNDI:

SetDataSource not working for Web App Access database

I have a web app developed using VS 2008 that is using Crystal Reports to produce bar graphs. The data is held in an Access database. I developed the report using an Access database located in the App_Data directory.
I have the following code on the page load event.

I have checked the DataSet after the fill and everything appears to be correct. There is only one row in the table
However the report is showing the entire table.
I have also tried setting the datasource to the datatable of the dataset with the same result.
How can I get this to work?

Hi Bob,
You stated that you designed the report against the access database itself correct?
Are there usenames and passwords required to access the db?
What looks like is happening is if you designed the report against the database instead of against an xsd file (which if you are using datasets should be done) then it has the access info stored so just hits it and pulls all the data.
Try outputting the schema of the dataset and do a set location in the designer to the xsd instead of the access db then try passing the dataset.

Unable to create web app items if Proximity Search is Enabled.

I am using BC API to create web app items because I am getting the data from a third party website and wanted to save the data into web app by using BC API. I have a web app ( Name: "Map Overview" ) and the proximity search is enabled. When I test my script I got 404 bad request error but if I disabled the Proximity Search the item is created.
Can someone help me on this?
