Lync 2013 Web APP browsers using up 100% CPU

This problem only began this week. Lync Web App is spiking CPU usage, at times up to 100%. Primarily with the presenter speaking. thus causing the speaker to sound robotic. Is anyone else experiencing this issue.

Hi Rene,
As your problem happens when presenter speaking, I suppose the problem is related with Sound Card driver.
Please try to uninstall the Sound Card driver and install the latest driver.

  • Lync 2013 Web App Sharing not working.

We are having a problem with Lync Web App 2013.  Our external customers can open the meeting link and join the meeting without a problem.  Once they are in the meeting an internal user begins the presentation by sharing his screen.  The Lync
Web App just says "Loading..." for the external customer.  The internal presenter sees this external customer continually change from "in collaboration session" to "not in collaboration session".  The external customer
is never actually shown the screen share.
    Other notes:
-->We tried this from an external wireless hotspot and it worked fine, thus, it seems something in this customer's company firewall that is blocking it.
-->We also tried sharing a powerpoint (we have a functional office web apps server), which produced the same results.
-->When we used the Lync 2010 Web App (before we upgraded to 2013), everything seemed to work fine, thus I am concluding that the 2013 Lync Web App (since it has more capabilities) is somehow trying to use more ports or something.
-->Internally, the Lync Web app works fine.
So, I assume something in the customer's company's firewall is blocking some access to Lync 2013 Web App.  My question is:  what needs to be enabled both on-premise and at the customer's side to access Lync 2013 Web App screen sharing and if the
company (for security reasons) doesn't want to open extra ports, is there some work around to force Lync Web App to use port 443 for screen sharing.
    Thanks,
    Adam

The ports 1024-65535 * are used for application sharing.
You can configure the port ranges for Lync clients.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj204760.aspx
You can’t use 443 as port 443 is used for HTTPs.

  • Lync 2013 web app login prompt

    Hi.
I have some trouble with Lync 2013 web app. When the page is loaded, it always prompt for credentials.
I understand, that from LAN it try to use user credentials, but from the external it is problematic.
We use TMG as reverse proxy. Is there any way, how to remove prompt for external sites ?
    Thanks

The login dialog is by design, you can’t remove the prompt.
As most external users can access successfully, I think the problem is on the client side.
Please check the supported platforms for Lync Web App at
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg425820.aspx
Please check if the issue always happens to the problem Lync account.
Check if the issue happens to multiple Lync account on the same computer.

  • How to Disable Lync 2013 Web app link in Lync meeting

I want disable Lync 2013 Web App , because it is  confuse WinXP user(no sound suuport) , I reference the topic(Disable Lync Web App link) but not work in 2013 version. How can I disable that?

I assume you're referring to this link:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/lync/en-US/33fbfa3f-e7dd-43a7-85f4-43c280e17d4f/disable-lync-web-app-link?forum=ocsconferencing
That was an unsupported but clever hack that we developed by the user asking the question.   There is not supported method for doing this in Lync 2013.
If it's an audio only meeting, I'd suggest removing the URL completely from each individual the meeting invite before sending it out.  If it's not, then the WinXP user would either need Lync, which they would then automatically join with anyway, or
they wouldn't in which case sending them the meeting invite wouldn't help.

    Hi,
Did the issue happen only for you or for multiple users?
Did the Lync server 2013 migration from Lync server 2010 successfully or the Lync environment still a coexistence environment?
Please check if simple URLs (Meeting URL) update to the Lync server 2013 in Lync Server Control Panel.

  • Web browser processes use over 100% CPU (OS 10.6.8)

Hey, I know this problem has come up a lot in the last couple of years, but I've looked everywhere, at every thread and possible solution to my problem and none have ever worked, so as a last resort I'm going to just straight up ask bout again and hope I'm missing something.
So whenever anything on my browser is moving, wether it be Flash, HTML 5, Java or even an embedded video, on every browser I've tried from Opera to Safari and every time it will put two or three processes related to the browser up to 60%, usually amounting to over 120%. I have tried doing a fresh install of Snow Leopard, which only softened the problem for a small while. This problem, and a couple others started happening after the 10.6.8 update was installed. I have never installed Safar Extensions, I have fixed permissions, cleared caches, binned files, tried running Safari under 32-bit and 32-bit Rosetta.
Nothing works. After 20 seconds of a youtube video my macbook will freeze and ask me to hold down the power button. If I download the video through activity and play it in VLC it's fine. If I play it in Quicktime it's fine for 20 seconds and then the video stutters and slows right down before the audio stops and Quicktime refuses to play anything unless it's closed.
Among other problems caused by the update: Alt 3 is no longer hash, it just turns my cursor into a crosshair temporarily and MDS/MDworker sometimes randomly decide they're going to join in on the rogue processes for a while. I'm so close to having to sell a bunch of stuff in order to get a laptop so I can finish my uni course, it's particularly horrible knowing that I rely on my macbook for all my university work and gigs yet it's been letting me down so much.
    Model Name:          MacBook
      Model Identifier:          MacBook2,1
Processor Name:          Intel Core 2 Duo
      Processor Speed:          1.83 GHz
      Number Of Processors:          1
      Total Number Of Cores:          2
      L2 Cache:          2 MB
      Memory:          2 GB

Oh, I posted this to the Macbook forum as it's ambiguous whether the update caused a hardware/software confliction, since a fresh install of Snow Leopard did not work.

  • Can't Edit Data in Access 2013 Web App

I have an Office 365 P1 account that I have been using to create apps in Access 2010. I tried Access 2013. But when I launch an app, it loads in my Office 365, but editing data is not enabled (the Add and Edit buttons are displayed, but not enabled).
I have tried creating a new custom web app with one simple table and a view, as well as creating one using a Microsoft pre-built template, and simply creating the app and launching it. In both cases, the app displays, but I cannot add or edit data.
Is there something with my Office 365 account that is limiting my ability to work with Access 2013 web apps?
    Thank you!

    Hi KrisMarshall7,
In regarding of the issue, please provide us more information to assist you better.
What the file format is your Access 2007 file? MDB or ACCDB?
Where do you want to add the columns? Table, form or query?
    As far as I know,
the limitation of columns in a table is 250. Thus, I suppose that the database had some hidden columns. Please try to check it. Steps:
Right-click any field title, then select Unhide Fields. A dialog box will appear. Click the check boxes of any fields you would like to be visible again, then click Close.
    Hope it's helpful.

  • Prevent Lync 2010 Web App From Running

I am an SCCM administrator and have been placed with the task of trying to figure out a means by which to prevent some users that have been abusing IM from using MS Lync. I have already setup the desktop support team with a device collection that they
can place any machine into to uninstall MS Lync and Lync Group Chat 2010 from that machine. However, the desktop support team also wants to prevent these users from access to the MS Lync Web App, which I am having difficulties trying to figure out some way
to block this addin from installing/running. We had already inquired with our exchange team and they refused to delete Lync access from the problem users' AD accounts because they felt that it would be too difficult to manage and I don't have access to Exchange,
so I can't change their Lync access from the account administration end. Is there a way to prevent the Lync 2010 Web App from installing/running via SCCM configuration baseline and/or GPO? Thanks to anyone who can provide some suggestions.

You can't disable it using SCCM or GPO because it's web application. You can disable it from Lync Server.
To disable Lync Web App, You can check below link

  • Can I cluster a web app that uses Spring and iBATIS?

I have a web app that uses Spring and iBATIS. It runs great on a single server. I am now trying to get it to run in a cluster. I went through the code and made all the classes serializable. Also, I added the distributable tag to the web.xml. I then deployed it to two clustered app servers.
When I logon and use the web app, everything goes well. Then, as a test, I determine which app server is being used and stop the web app on it. As I try to continue my session, the following exceptions are generated from the other node:
    java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: No SqlMapClient specified.
The exception is being thrown from the Spring code. Is there something else I need to do to get Spring and iBatis to work in a clustered environment.
Also, I see a lot of references to Terracotta as a clustering solution. Will Terracotta work with Oracle App Server?

    Thanks for the response.
I think my session information is being shared. I've configured the default application in my OC4J configured for peer-to-peer clustering. Before I did this, if I shut down the instance I was using, it would fail-over to the other application server but my session would be gone and I would be forced to logon again. But once I was logged on, everything ran smoothly.

  • Logging with log4j in a Web app that uses TopLink

The deployment engineer in my company is reporting problems with our first Web app that uses both log4j and TopLink. Apparently TopLink is failing to initialize correctly when log4j-1.2.8.jar is deployed to the WEB-INF/classes directory within the Web app.
I know that 9iAS's Enterprise Manager uses an older version of log4j and I wonder if TopLink uses an older version too.
Are there any known problems when using log4j 1.2.8 with TopLink 9.0.3?
    Thanks,
    Al Margheim

Unfortunately, when I asked the deployment engineer for more information on the problem, he couldn't provide any, and since he moved the log4j library out of the application's WEB-INF\classes directory he can't reproduce the problem (whatever it was).
Based on a variety of factors (including your response) I suspect that the people who encountered the problem misinterpreted the cause.
If I can get him to put the log4j library back in WEB-INF\classes and get more specific information about the problem, and it still looks like a conflict between TopLink and log4j, I'll post the errors here.
    Thanks,
    Al Margheim

  • Lync 2013 Web Scheduler SMTP Server for invitations - non-exchange env

We cannot get the Lync 2013 Web Scheduler to send email invites to anyone even after configuring the SMTP server for both the external and internal sites on our one and only front-end (we did the super simple same box install for testing
purposes).  Yes we have done an IISReset;)  Has the SMTP server configuration process for the now built-in Lync 2013 Web Scheduler changed since the add-on Lync 2010 Web Scheduler?
BTW, unless we haven't search for the right phrase(s), it seems there is ZERO documentation about configuring this for 2013 - only for 2010.

  • Firefox using almost 100% CPU - hogging resources - hanging

After several hours of operating Firefox starts using almost 100% CPU - with peaks of 100% occurring in rapid succession - FF hangs until CPU useage drops below 100%
Followed recommended troubleshooting as recommended on this site:
    * Started in Safe mode - no problems occurred.
    * Disabled all extensions; Plug-ins left operating.
    * No replication of problems.
    * Enable 1/2 of extensions up to Flashblock - restarted - seems ok
    * Enable most remaining extensions
    * (There are 3 Java extesnions - only enabling one) - again seems ok
    * Some hours later - problem reoccurred. Each time CPU useage peaked at 100% (according to Task Manager) the Firefox Window flickered & was unresponsive.
    * Deleted cache - no change
    * Disabled recently added programs - no change
FF opens and closes normally & completely. '''Problem only seems to occur after FF has been operating for some time'''
This has occurred intermittantly before but has become chronic over the last few days. Apologies if I've been repetitive or explained poorly - FF has hung several times while typing this.

No issue for me, after 4 loops my CPU load was around 18%.
    Firefox 33.1.1 under Windows Vista.

  • Lync Office Web App Farm External Access using IIS ARR

When i try to present a powerpoint app when logged in externally i get an error saying that it could not connect to the office web app server.  I need some help with (maybe screenshots) of what the reverse proxy settings should be. Here is some info
so maybe someone can fill in the blanks.
My Office web app server has a private address and sits on the inside. The DNS name is owasrv.mydomain.com
    The internal url is https://owasrv.mydomain.com
    The external url is https://wacsrv.mydomain.com
i have a public A record pointing to wacsrv.mydomain.com and my ssl cert has a SAN entry for wacsrv.mydomain.com
***NOTE our public and private domain names are the same...that is not a mistake.
I mostly need help with the what to put in for the url rewrite rules and what to put in when creating the server farm.  Also is it OK that the name of my server is different than the external url address.
    Gerald Csakany

    Hi Gerald,
Did you follow this guide here http://blogs.technet.com/b/nexthop/archive/2013/02/19/using-iis-arr-as-a-reverse-proxy-for-lync-server-2013.aspx
and mainly the section down the bottom which refers to publishing the WAC by matching this pattern ((?:^en-us/|^hosting/|^m/|^o/|^oh/|^op/|^p/|^we/|^wv/|^x/).*)
and moving the rule to the top?
What happens when you try to browse to https://wacsrv.mydomain.com/hosting/discovery from external?
They can be different, I usually make them the same for simplicity, but as long as they're set on the Webfarm it shouldn't be an issue.
