Bought a mac for my sons bday present of eBay :( it starts up in osx utilities screen, iv never seen the actual desktop(launch pad) I dnt know how to access the systemI know the basics for start up but says to delete files so I can dwnload the software?

AS above states the computer seems to run normally as far as turning it on, tabs & pages are fine. But I can't access the system to delete some files.. Which is what the 'error' keeps saying everytime I tr and download a helpful link/app or software.. The instal disc that seems to be stored on the comp says its mountain lion 10.8 install disk 'read only' & this is the only disc it gives me to select to startup.. I have the full software on USB as its very large.. So .. PLEASE TELL ME finally,

First: no, you cannot use someone else's install DVD unless it is a retail version; all others are machine specific. It will not work and would be illegal.

IF that is correct, then you are not on 10.8 because the highest OS it can go to would be 10.6
So, you'd either need the original install disks (preferred) or buy a retail Snow Leopard (10.6) - that is as high as you can go with that machine. And, your maximum RAM is 2 GB, so you couldn't go higher with the OS because of that either because it would not run well on 2 GB.
If you do get 10.6, then I'd suggest increasing the RAM to the max. of 2 GB.
If this is not the machine you got (maybe the seller just used any old box), then I'd suggest taking it to an Apple store/Genius Bar to have them sort out how to get out of this mess.

I Would start with basic troubleshooting steps. Clear Safari, Completely close Safari, and reset your iPad.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History and Website Data
Now close Safari. In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Go to www.icloud.com with Safari on the Mac. You will have to enter your username and password. iCloud will open to your account and there will be an iWorks icon that you can click on. Then you can click on Pages, Numbers or Keynote at the top. All of your documents should be in there. You can click on a document to download it. Follow the prompts if it asks what format you want.
As far as I know - only the iWorks applications currently work with this feature.

On your iPad, delete the existing account then sign back in with the new ID and password.

If you mean you accidentally removed the icon for iMovie from the Dock (the array of icons at the bottom of the window), you can add it back easily.
Open the Applications folder (if you open it from the Dock you may then need to click the Open in Finder icon), locate the iMovie program.
Drag the icon for iMovie down to the Dock, somewhere between the icon for Finder and the dashed line toward the right.
Wait for the icons at that spot to move aside, then drop it in.

However the trick is that it cannot download at all.I m asked to download the application. Then I put my Apple ID, then it start to download but just 1s... Then ....Nothing. No application, no error message... Just a nice invoice....

I have lost my toolbar and task bar. I have tried all the sugestions on this site to no avail. I don't know how to try a system restore with out them.

Can you launch a new window (Ctrl+n for a normal window, Ctrl+Shift+p for a private window) that has the usual complement of toolbars? If a new window also is missing bars, try using the View menu > Toolbars list to restore them. If the classic menu bar is not displayed, usually tapping the Alt key or the F10 key will show it temporarily.

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.

There is nothing to download.
You first must purchase the service in iTunes and let the intial scan, match and upload process complete. Then you can activate it on your iPhone by going to Settings > Music and set the option for "iTunes Match" to ON.

i wish apple would make an "exclude" option though tbh.
i have some others called ... in the name "...soundtrack" (one word) or "hidden track" and "teaching track" !
i've got another one literally called "track by track walk through" lol
now im wishing there was just an option to select these oddballs and exclude them individually.
i cant come up with rules for every single possibility, but i cannnn eliminate those odd songs when i see them if there was an exclude option.

Thanks for taking the time to suggest the screen shot. Actually, I neglected to say that I was working in a Thai font and, after posting my question, it dawned on me that I should check the keyboard template again. Well, in Thai, vowel and accent symbols show on the template with the dotted zeroes below as place setters, They don't show IF one doesn't make a typing error, which is what I did.
