Cannot get kdc for realm CENTRAL.xxx.COM -
When performing kinit the java SDK will take the value after the @ sign
Perform kinit username enter then add the password to confirm this value if not entering the @REALM.COM. If not entering @REALM.COM then the default domain value should be used (from the krb5.ini)
Then once you confirm your value of the KDC it must match a domain listed in your Realms section of the krb5.ini (all upper case and exact match on case). After it matches your realm it will attempt to connect the  defined KDC(s). In your case it cannot match the realm or connect to it's KDC.
You will probably have a 2nd issue if no error shows up in the std.out. Likely your bsclogin.conf is not loading properly as the debug=true option you show should be logging the java SDK even when it fails.
Finally if those issues are fixed ensure the default domain in the CMC > auth > AD also is an exact match for the default domain in the krb5.ini.

Tim

  • Can't install ITunes on Windows 2003 server (WHS box)

    Hi,
I can't install the latest ITunes because it incorrectly mistakes my Windows 2003 server as Windows XP. So after search I find that I can change the MSI files as according to this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2154140.
This seems to work for all MSI file sin the ITunes etup exe except for this: AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi. If I change the MSI LaunchConditions it gives my error 2229 no matter what.
So I'm stuck. Should I call Apple next?

I can't help you with the error you get, but just to clarify while iTunes isn't "officially" supported for use on Server 2003, it does work. Sort of. iTunes 8 could be installed by editing the MSI, iTunes 9 however while this method is still required you'll run into a problem with iPodService.exe crashing, and iTunes refuses to finish the install until that service is up and running.
There are a few topics on here that detail what you can do to get around this problem. I believe currently the only tried and tested method is to use the iPodService.exe from iTunes 8, doing a swap trick when the iTunes 9 service crash occurs so that you can at least get the application to install.
I can't be bothered to go to the trouble though. I'm interested in seeing if Apple will silently stop with the BS and just fix the installer's version mismatch errors (easily done), and fix iPodService.exe. The reason why the service crashes, according to what I've read, is because it seemingly misidentifies Server 2003 and similar OS's as Vista or Windows 7, and then begins calling functions for those OSs from ntdll.dll - which causes the crash.
As for your error, presumably that is with Orca. All I could find relating to the errors is something about transforming the MSI and language translations. It could also be because of an older version of Orca. Perhaps try and re-download iTunes, and extract the MSI packages again. But you should only need to edit the LaunchCondition for AppleMobileDevice.msi - and you don't need to delete the table either, you can simply change the number in NTVersion from 501 to 502, save the package and it'll all work. It did for me when I first tried it anyway.

  • Crystal Ras 9 on Windows 2003 Server, IIS6.0, single threaded?

We have just migrated from Windows 2000 server to Windows 2003 Server over the weekend. We ran into an issue with Crystal Ras 9.0 where the server serving up reports slower that our previous box. We are using IIS 6.0 and .net 2.0 framework with 1.1 installed for backward compat on our some of our old legacy codes. From what our developers can tell, the issue seems to be Crystal Ras queuing up the request and process them one at a time. That didn't happen before the migration. In fact, we also saw it working in our test environment before the migration. Once the pool is filled no further reports are generated which causes all report to stop which also starts to hang our server. They symptoms is worst under heavy user load. We tested with 6 simultaneous users and all 6 are done at the same time no matter the size of the report. Even the one that fail with an error message came up at the exact same time.
Are there anyway we can adjust the IIS pools and or Crystal Ras to support additional threads?  We are connecting to Windows 2008 SQL Server EE. Any suggestions and or help is appreciated. I cannot find any references that would help us diagnose this further.
Also, if you can also detail the cost to buying a phone case, that would be helpful as well.
    Thanks
    -atiwat

Since you are not changing the version of RAS, I am not sure why the queuing would be different on different Operating Systems? You may want to check on how the queuing is setup on the WIN 200 server and duplicate that on the WIN 2003 server. Also, RAS has a limited number of licenses out of the box. Ensure that you are using the same license on both environments.
Re. phone support. You can obtain a phone case here:
    http://store.businessobjects.com/store/bobjamer/DisplayProductByTypePage&parentCategoryID=&categoryID=11522300
However, please note that support of version 9 products terminated years ago, so you will not be able to get support for your version. To get phone support, you will have to upgrade to a supported version of RAS (XI r2 at minimum).
    Ludek
BTW.; Windows 2008 SQL Server EE came way after RAS / CR 9 and has thus not been tested in this environment...

  • Can't connect my Mac to my Windows 2003 server shares via SMB

    Hello all
So my problem is I have my Powerbook running 10.4.7 with all the latest security updates and I cannot connect it to any shares on my Windows 2003 domain controller. Everything was working fine and I could connect to the server with no problem till about a month ago. However, I can still connect to the Windows 2000 domain controller with no problem. The error I get when trying to connect is "Could not connect to the server because the name or password is not correct". I did try clearing out my keychain, making sure all of the authentication policies on the server are correct (disabling the digitally sign commucations always policy), and I even went as far as editing a .conf file in /etc/ folder that allows for passwords to be sent without any encryption (I forget exactly what I changed but I can post that later when I get home from work) and none of this has worked. I unfortunately don't have another mac to test out connecting to the Windows 2003 server. Does anyone have any ideas of what I could do to try and get this issue resolved?

TO share out as afp you need to have file and print services for macintosh installed on the 2k3 Server.
O n the main management console click on the shares icon on the left. then click the "link" create a share. The wizard will guide you through the process. i forget the order of progression but i beleive its the second or third part in the dialog it will have 2 check boxes, the top one checked by default, is to share it for windows/smb the second (lower box) is to share as AFP for mac check this box and change the share name if you like. then proceed through the rest of the wizard. Make sure you configure the security/sharing prefs for access.. we typically remove the everyone policy and add one for Authenitcated Users, and ofcourse Administrators.

  • Upgrade Oracle Client 8.1.7 to 10g on Windows 2003 with IIS / ASP

I am having problems after I install 10201_client_win32 on Windows 2003 which uses IIS ASP application to connect via ODBC to Oracle databases.
tnsping and m/s access can connect but for some reason my ASP application can not connect but doesn't give me any error messages just hangs during ASP database connection
I have a mixture of 8i and 10g DSN connections which I use, I'm not sure if I need to un-install 8.1.7 driver or remove all 8i ODBC to enable this to work
Should ASP be able to connect to a mix of 8 and 10g drivers?
Perhaps some DLL incompatibility or install issue.
Note it works ok on XP workstation but not so far on Win2003 server.
Any help to verify install or things to check would be appreciated
    Paul

Since 8.1.7 was never certified on Windows 2003, it's entirely possible that it would cause some problems and might interfere with the 10g client.
If you are confident that the setup on your XP box is identical to the setup on the 2003 box, I would tend to suspect that the 8.1.7 client was causing the problem.

  • Oracle 9i on Windows 2003 server - DBCA error

    1. This is the error message that I get when I am trying to install the 9.2.0.3 software in a new oracle home. There is a 10g database which sits in a different Oracle home. The OUI runs smoothly until it comes to the point where the Database Config Assistant tool starts running and then I get this error and the installer hangs. Could anyone let me know why I might be getting this error.

FYI - I have installed the OUI patch Oracle Universal Installer release 2.2.0.18.0 for Windows and the Oracle9i Database Release 2 (9.2.0.3.0) Patch Set for Windows after I installed the 9.2.0.1 database software.
I then tried to run the DBCA tool from the 'Start > Programs>Oracle 9ihome>' menu to create the new Oracle 9.2.0.3 database but the DBCA assistant would not start up.
    2. I have a related question:
Has anybody performed a downgrade of Oracle 10g database to Oracle 9.2.0.3 database using export/import?
Can you perform a full database export of the Oracle 10g database using the 9.2.0.3 export utility and then perform a full database import into Oracle 10g? I have read some documentation that states this is not possible. Can anyone verify or confirm how they did this migration? So is the only option then to perform a table or user level export?
Also, if both the databases reside on the same Windows 2003 server box, how can you ensure that the source database files are not overwritten?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Vishal.

It only happens when you have oracle 10g and Oracle 9i on the same machine.
You can run 9i dbca successfully, if you rename the 10g "orasrvm.DLL" found in any 10g BIN directory. Rename it back after you are 9i dbca is complete.

  • How do I get Windows 7 to search contents on a Windows 2003 Server?

Our network consists of several Windows 7 64-bit clients and a Windows 2003 R2 64-bit file server. I would users to be able to search the contents of the file server in an efficient manner. I have installed Windows Search 4.0 on the file server and told
it to index the folders I am sharing. But when I go back to the Windows 7 client and do a search, I notice two things:
#1 - If i try to search the mapped network drive, Windows 7 does nothing. The search never starts.
#2 - If I search using the UNC path, Windows 7 searches but does so very slowly.
I thought the point of installing Windows Search on the server was for the server to build the index, and for the Windows 7 clients to use that index. That doesn't appear to be working.

    Leo Wang,
This is specificaly an issue with Windows 7 64-bit all versions.
We need a way to index network locations and at this time, there are a few things that have been proposed/attempted, but none that  work:
    1. KB2268596.
The "Search programs and files" box on the Start menu does not search files on network locations that are not indexed in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2
This does not apply to 64-bit an gives a message saying that it is not applicable to this type of computer, or something of the sort.
    2.KB918996.
Windows Desktop Search: Add-in for Files on Microsoft Networks
This Protocol Handler indexes your shared network directories and FAT drive(s) allowing you to easily find your specific content.
By downloading this Add-in, you will have the ability to search your shared network directories and FAT drive(s) via selection in your Windows Desktop Search Advanced Options.
Does not work on Win7 64-bit, which is the primary OS in corporate environments.
    3. Symbolic Links
    1. Create a folder on your hard drive for shares. i.e. c:\share
    2. Create another folder in the above share. i.e. c:\share\music
    2. Link the Library to this folder.
    3. Delete the folder.
    4. Use the mklink in an elevated command prompt to make a symbolic link. Name the link the same as the folder you created above.
    i.e - mklink /d c:\share\music \\server\music
    5. Done. Now you have non-indexed UNC path as a library.
The last line sums it up... it is a non-indexed UNC path.
We need a solution!!! There has to be a solution... If there is the abiity to solve it for 32-bit machines, there has to be a way to create it for 64-bit machines.

  • Trex can't be updated to higher levels on windows 2003 server 64 bit

    Hi gurus,
We have a portal system (EP 7.0 SP18) and a Trex 7.0 server which are
working on windows 2003 server 64 bit on the same server.
After upgrading our portal system from sp15 to sp18, we can not see
indexes on Index Administration screen. When we tried to create the
indexes from the beginning, we faced the message "An index with the samename already exists."
We thought that the level of the Trex server(25) is low which may cause
this problem and decided to update the Trex server to level 46. We
    downloaded "TREX70_46-20001842.SAR TREX 7.0 REV 46" from
service.sap.com and tried to update Trex server according to
    NW70_SPSTACK_GUIDE_SPS18.pdf.During the installation a warning
message "You started an installation of sofware for platform
i386, but SAPinst is running on platform AMD64" was given. When we
continued the installation, an error message
was shown in a message box."Running msiexec.exe failed with return code
1603:Fatal error during installation. Commandline was
    msiexec.exe/norestart/L sapmmcx86u.log/i sapmmcx86u.msi/qn" I searched
the sapmmcx86u.log and the error message says that this installation
    package is not for windows
    2003 server 64 bit.
"This installation does not support 64 Bit Windows Operating systems.
Please use the corresponding 64 Bit installation package.
Action ended 8:26:08: LaunchConditions. Return value 3.
Action ended 8:26:08: INSTALL. Return value 3.
MSI (s) (10:84) [08:26:08:578]: Product: SAP MMC SnapIn -- Installation
    failed."
We searched in OSS notes and found the note "Note 1021003 - TREX 7.00 -
Update Windows 2003 64-Bit installed from DVD"
.We did the things in the note but unfortunately nothing changed.
We tried the install revision 45,44 etc but we got the same warning and
    error messages.
    Any suggestions?
Edited by: Tolga Akinci on Apr 30, 2009 3:08 PM

    Hi Tolga,
    You face with this error, because of Trex installation package is trying to install native i386 redistributables (vcredist_x86.msi) during the process. In order to patch Trex system on x64 architecture, follow the instructions, below;
    1) Start sapinst, under your <TREX_PATCH> path
    2) Ignore AMD64 warning popup
    3) When popup appears on the "1603:Fatal error during installation." error, change temp folders on both environment variables, on my computer
    4) Download and execute "vcredist_x64.exe" then run installer
    5) After respective installation click on "Retry" button on error popup
At the end of this operation, your Trex patch will be succeeded. Please do not forget to undo your temp directory settings, on your Trex host. I hope that it is clarify your question.

  • Mac OS X help with share access on a windows 2003 server

    Hello everyone
I am not too familiar with Mac OS X (Darwin) and so on and need a little help.
We recently got a new windows 2003 standard server and I want to move my files to there so they get backed up and so on. I am able to access shares on the pc's on our network but when I try to access the server from finder i just get a box pop up saysing do you want to fix or delete the alias.
When I try to access it via a terminal, because I am a bit more ok with the cmd line thanks to my linux capabilities, I get the following error:
mount_smbfs: tree connect phase failed: syserr = Permission denied
    when i try:
    mount_smbfs //dan:[email protected]/General\ Files /BB-SERVER/General\ Files
Is there anybody that has experienced this before and that can help me resolve this.
    Thank you in advance
    Kobus

    Hi Kobus Bensch,
I'm sorry I am not able to help with your questions about sharing from your Mac to the server but wanted to suggest that you post back the exact Mac OS version you are using. Your specs below your post suggest 10.0.x which was barely a beta version of Mac OS X. This will surely help those who are seeing your topic and trying to help.
To find the version you can simply click on the blue Apple in your top menu bar and select About This Mac.
    good luck,

  • Windows 8.1 Professional users from a Windows 2003 domain to Microsoft IDs

We've had a Windows 2003 domain for about 10 years. The original reason we created the Windows 2003 domain is no longer valid. (SQL Server integrated security)
We would like to convert the domain user profiles on the Windows 8.1 boxes to user profiles associated with Microsoft ID's.
I tested http://www.forensit.com/domain-migration.html but did not have good results. The challenge was the functionality provided by doing Windows Key + W and entering commands such as user, etc did not work. (ie: the store was messed
    up)
So I am thinking the best way to do this is to convert the domain users to local users and then convert the local users to Microsoft ID users. I believe the conversion from local users to Microsoft ID users is native to Windows 8.1.
    Questions:
    1) Is the Windows 8.1 conversion from local users to Microsoft ID users reliable?
    2) What is the best method to convert a domain user provide to a local user profile on Windows 8.1?
Thank you in advance for any assistance you may provide.
    Thank you, Bill

    Karen & Milos,
Thank you for your assistance on this matter.
Unfortunately, Windows 8.1 Store Apps represent such a massive change in architecture that I don't believe anyone can be 100% positive that copying user profiles will work properly.
In summary, I've tried the following:
    1) User Profile Wizard v3.7 from Forensit.com - this was the closest but the Windows Store Apps did not work properly
    2) USMT v5.0 - missed many folders and settings
    3)
http://www.shofkom.com/2009/03/14/how-to-convert-your-domain-profile-to-a-local-profile/ - had to reconfigure many applications and the Start screen and Task bars were not set properly
    4) Variations of
    http://www.nextofwindows.com/how-to-change-user-profile-location-in-windows-8-without-registry-hack/ - same as #3
    5)
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/fac17d6a-3c1b-4188-913e-ac2ec45b3ad6/transferring-from-workgroup-to-domain-keeping-user-profile?forum=winservergen - same as #3
In summary, I've decided to create the Local User as a Microsoft ID and then manually copy the Documents, Pictures, Downloads, Music, Pictures and Videos. The other settings such as Outlook, Startup, Task Bar, Desktop, and other app settings will be manually
    configured. :-(
    Thank you, Bill

  • Permission Problem with Windows 2003 Share

    Hi There,
I have just installed a new 750GB removable drive on our Windows 2003 R2 file server so our "mac" team can copy old data to it. The drive is formated in NTFS and previously used to do exactly the same to a 250gb drive without any issues.
Now when we go to copy a file to the "new" drive we get the "Operation cannot be performed because you do not have sufficient privileges for some of these items" error. I have searched hi and low for a solution but I cannot find anything that rectifies the problem.
We have MAC's that run both OSX 10.5 and 10.4 but we get the same problem on both.
Anyone been able to solve this before?
    Thanks in advance.
    Nick

Are you sure you applied the proper policy(ies) to the share on Win server?
Also if youre sharing it out over AFP as opposed to SMB there is a special property that makes it read only. If you right click on the SFM volume and go to properties youll see a check box near the bottom of the pane that makes the share read-only by default.

  • IISProxy and Windows 2003

We are in need of a reverse proxy solution for WL that works with Windows 2003
IIS6. IISForward/IISproxy is not supported and doesn't work. We have tried several
third party products but they all fail relating to how WL manages cookies. Any
    Suggestions?

I got it working by following the steps that Patrick Montelo sent, also allow ISAPI extentions.
I am running Weblogic 8.1 SP3 if that helps.
    -------------From Patrick---------------
2003 is locked down out of the box, try this:
    1. Open IIS manager
    2. Go to WebService Extensions folder
    For ASPs:
    1. Select Active Server Pages
    2. Click the allow button
    For JSPs:
    1. Click "Add a new web service extension"
    2. Type in a name like "Weblogic pages"
    3. Click "Add" button
    4. Browse to your iisproxy.dll file
    5. Select "Set extension status to allowed"
    6. Click "Ok"

  • Directory services and windows 2003

hello all i am new to the world of solaris. So the trouble is that we have a sunfire and i installed directory services 5.2 but windows 2003 refuse to join the domain at all... the sunfire box is in nat and there's an entry in the nat dns server. the question is: is it really possible for a win box to join the solaris ds? or only other solaris boxes can do it?

    Dear Andreas:
    I have read that:
    Hello together,
I think I've got a solution for my
Real-Time-LDAP-Password-Check. T was right there is a BSA package,
which exectly do this but it is not available through the website
    or any download.
For this you don't need a NTLM Server running or a reverse
proxy for user authentication. It simply checks over the LDAP port
    to your LDAP server and
returns if the login is granted through the LDAP password ior
    not.
Yesterday I spoke to a Breeze dev. and he sent me these
scripts. He said they will be already implemented into the next
Breeze version but will also work with Breeze 6.
When some is interested in this solution please send me pm
with your email adress and I will send the zip file to you.

  • How to connect to Window 2003 server using "connect as"

How can I set up Lion to easily connect to specified shares in the windows 2003 server. I want to authenticate as a user other than the one I am logged into on my Macbook? I am setting this up for teachers in a school. The macbook may be used by multiple teachers. Best way (simplest) please.

    Hi
Let's pretend the Windows Server has an IP address of 10.10.10.254
Go Menu > Connect to Server > smb://10.10.10.254. When prompted enter the account credentials of a user (username and password) that exists on the Windows Server. Alternatively you could use cifs://10.10.10.254. Either one will do. Assuming no 'silliness' on the Windows Network Administrator's part the share should mount.
For ease of connectivity afterwards you could tick the 'remember password using keychain manager' box. Personally I find keychain manager more trouble than it's worth. However you deal with this as you see fit. If it's multiple users using the same workstation I would not enable the option.
Once mounted you can view the Server Share on the user's Desktop by enabling the option in the Finder. It should appear as a blue-ish drive icon on the Desktop. Add the icon in that User's Login Items in the Accounts Preferences Pane. Think of it a little like the Windows equivalent of "mapping a network drive".
Next time that user logs into their local account and provided the workstation is connected to the same network, the share point should mount.
You could also or alternatively drag the share icon to the right hand side of Dock. Click on it to re-connect to the share after you've disconnected from it.

  • Netbeans, webstart and Windows 2003/IIS 6.0

    Hi
this may not be the best place to post this question but I can't find a Netbeans forum.
I want to be able to deploy from Netbeans onto my remote Windows 2003 server using the Web Start module. I can't seem to register the server as only TomCat and SunServer are available.
Can anyone point me in the right direction.
I REALLY don't have time to write my own deployment app so any help most grateful.

Well, I assume you deleted the old ODBC setup stuff, and
re-created the datasource in the ODBC setup.
Also, is the database on your new machine, or on your old
box? (i.e. - it could be as simple as you are pointing the
datasource to a database on your old box that is not live).
Also, I assume when you say "admin screens" you mean the CF
    Admin?
