BP currency and transaction currency is different from Local currency.

Hi,
I have this confusing scenario here and really appreciate some share of ideas.
I have a scenario here.
Local currency + system currency = AUD
There is some New Zealand (NZ) customers (eg: C00001), set up with multicurrency, because we process transactions with them in USD.
We hedge USD and NZ currencies.
Let's say today is 29/9/2008 and I have the following rate:
Spot rate 1 USD = 1.207 AUD
Spot rate 1 NZD = 0.82293 AUD
Forward rate 1 USD = 1.10 AUD
Forward rate 1 NZD = 0.9 AUD
process NZ customers in USD
When a sales transactions is processed against C00001 in USD, forward rate 1.10 is used, SAP recorded the transactions in USD and AUD.
To see how much NZD it is, forward rate 0.9 should be used.
(ii) process NZ customers in NZ
Spot rate 0.82293 is used.
Now, we need to provide a Profit and Loss in NZD to NZ Tax Department for those sales transactions to New Zealand customers.
This is what I have considered but stuck.
(a) I cannot make use of P & L statement - revalutaion function,  because there is a combination of rate (forward and spot) in the same day.
(b) To manually enter the 'Fixed Exchange Rate' in Journal Entry and then use  "Refer to rates in Journal Entry" when running P & L statement - revaluation funciton won't work, because the volume of transactions each day is massive.
(c) I have considered setting up a seperate database with local currecy = NZ, system currency = AUD and then processed all NZ transactions here.
That will resolve the issue for reporting to NZ Tax Department.
However, I will then again be stuck with the problem to convert from NZ to AUD in order to produce AUD P & L because there is combination of forward rate and spot rate being used.   The reason for producing AUD P & L is so that we can consolidate the AUD database and NZD database.
Appreciate some help here.
Kind regards,
Shwu Hua

I am afraid you may have to go through SDK programming in order to solve this problem.  Even the current available add-on may not have solution yet.
You are talking about two exchange rates in one day.  That is not easy to achieve.  In my opinion, all rates are not exact numbers per se. You may just use the middle rate to post all your transactions.  The others should be Exchange Rate Gain/Loss.  That will be the easiest work around before any SDK work done.
Thanks,
Gordon

Exp: my RAW MAT amount is material standard price x qty.
Let said my standard price is RM9.61 and the qty is 180 so that my Raw Mat amount is RM1729.80 and exchange rate is 3.718 form JPY to MYR when i display it on  document currency the amount show in JPY is 46,440 instead off 46,525.
But when i cancel the document the system do captured the correct amount 46,525.
How sap get this Raw Mat amount?
    Thanks in advance.

    MYR = Malaysia Ringgit.
The RAW MATT price is correct when in Local Currency which is in MYR but there are the variance when convert to others currency like JPY and USD.

  • What are Crypto Cards, and what are they different from Java Cards?

    Hi,
I just heard the name 'Crypto Card'. I thought Java Card is the only standard for smart card. Could anyone tell me what are Crypto Cards, and what are they different from Java Cards? Thanks in advance.
    Joey

Probably any card that offers cryptographic capabilities (crypto coprocessor) could be called "Crypo Card", but likely the term was referred to cards offering a pkcs#11 interface.
Pkcs#11 is the standard for accessing crypto devices, like tokens, cards, or accelerators. Such a device can be easily accessed for example from your browser to perform cryptographic and digital signature operations.
A Javacard can operate as a pkcs#11 device in you install on it an applet dealing with the pkcs#11 requests.

  • Render tab thumbnail (and output) is very different from the viewer in main color tab.

I'm having a really strange issue with one of my projects. I can't seem to output my footage correctly as seen in the "color" tab in speedgrade. The result is much more blue in hue.
    Color tab main viewer:
    Render tab thumbnail:
As you can see the thumbnail is much colder than the main color tab viewer, and the final output (both DPX and proRes4444) is just like the thumbnail.
Has anyone here experienced this issue? Is it a known bug? Workaround?
I should mention that I'm working with several gradinglayers. 5 to be exact, doing different adjustments. Does this potential bug have to do with that?
    Thank you,
    Joan

For starters, it would be good to know which version (especially a build number) you're using of SpeedGrade. You're clearly running in "native" mode to render directly from Sg but could be doing that in anything from the ol' Iridas through CS6 SpeedGrade to a CC version. There are some few changes that came in along the line. Subtle mostly. But useful to know.
It would also be handy to know the codec/s you're grading, and any out-board devices you might have in the video chain from AJA, Kona, MB, whoever ...
I've had gamma shifts at times that were a PAIN to nail down, but I've not had color/hue shifts so much. At least, while there was a slight change in color/hue of a render at the wrong gamma, once I'd corrected the export settings to get the correct gamma the color/hue problems disappeared. There is a very experienced user of Sg for years who might be good at helping ... if Joost van der Hoeven is available.

  • Resizing objects and groups in CS4 - different from CS3

    Hi all,
In CS3 I used to be able to resize objects or groups of objects by just using the solid select tool and just grabbing a corner or side of the object and resizing it.  That doesn't work in CS4.  Doing the same thing only moves the image around.  I have to actually use the scale pop-up.
I can still do the same thing an anchor or path at a time with the outline select tool.
I'm sure there's a way to do this in CS4 and there's probably a switch buried deep in some menu to allow this, but darned if I can figure it out.

I'm still on CS3 so I don't know for sure, but I don't think so.  It's always been a pretty easy key shortcut to hit by accident though.

  • Balances in Local Currency

What is the purpose and standard usage of this field in the GL Account Master?

    HI,
Indicator: Only Manage Balances in Local Currency
Indicates that balances are updated only in local currency when users post items to this account.
    Use
You would set this indicator for accounts in which you do not want the system to update transaction figures separately by currency.
Setting this indicator for accounts managed on an open item basis affects the clearing procedures. See the example below.
    Procedure
Set the indicator in cash discount clearing accounts and GR/IR clearing accounts. It cannot be set in reconciliation accounts for customers or vendors. Setting it in all other instances is optional.
It is usually set for particular balance sheet accounts including:
Accounts which are not managed on an open item basis and not kept in foreign currencies.
Accounts which are managed on an open item basis and have the same types of items posted in different currencies, but always allow clearing to be made if the local currency amounts correspond.
    Examples
You set up a clearing account for goods receipts and invoice receipts and manually post these items to it. You post invoice receipts in the invoice currency and goods receipts always in the local currency.
Invoice receipt            1000 DEM       600 USD
    Goods receipt                              600 USD
Both items can be cleared if the clearing account balances are recorded in local currency only. If you have not set the indicator for this account, the system will translate DEM to USD during the clearing procedure in order to determine the amount in USD required to clear 1000 DEM. If the translation rate is .65 USD per DEM, then the system displays 650 USD for the invoice receipt and 600 USD for the goods receipt when the open items are processed.
This means that to clear both of these items, you will also have to enter a difference posting for 50 USD, and the system will automatically make an additional exchange rate difference posting for this amount.

  • TX01, - incorrect calcualte amount in local currency  upgrade 4.7- ECC6.0

    Hello, Gurus,
I've problem with currency transaction, especially with additional flows
When I created  currency forward and I add additional flows :
    1) 0011      +    1.000.000 EUR   ( exchange rate fixed 4,00)
    2) 0011      -     4.000.000 PLN
    And I saved transaction
then I post this flows: using TBB1 :
    And system try post :
    flow 1) 1.000.000,00 EUR   -> 4.000.000 PLN - this is correct
    flow 2) 1.007.556,68 EUR   -> 4.000.000PLN - this is incorrect
Why system try calculate second flow despite that in additional flow was set as PLN ?
This situation was after upgrade to ECC 6.0
In previous version of system second flow was posted:
    flow2) 4.000.000PLN    -> 4.000.000PLN
    Could you help me
    *PLN is local currency

    Hi,
to avoid inconsistencies, the system posts all flows in position currency and, if necessary, the amount in local currency is recalculated with rates to the posting date. If you would like to keep the same rate, then in the transaction you should also fix the rate for the PLN flow.

  • 0COMP_CODE Local currency different than 0COMPANY currency

    Hello guys,
We are implementing BCS for our client and the scenario for the same is as follows:
We are using ECC 6.0, BW 3.5 with SEM 4.0., we have activated New GL Accounting in ECC 6.0. and have been able to bring in data from totals table FAGLFLEXT into BW.
Now we need to bring in the data from BW to BCS cubes using the load from data stream method. We needed to bring all the three currency types (transaction, group and local) into the SEM BCS cube (0BCS_C10), so we have added all the 3 currencies in the data basis roles.
When we run the load from data stream method, we get the following error for some items:
Error message UCD1 032 (Local currency of company X is not correct).
This message occurs for the company codes (0COMP_CODE) which not have the same currency as their related Company (0COMPANY).
Could you please help us solving this "issue" ?
    Thank you in advance,
    Regards,
    Pascal MORIZUR

    Pascal,
IMHO, the situation is a bit different.
AFAIU, It doesn't matter which local currency is set for 0COMP_CODE in ECC.
The BCS totals cube has three key figures for currencies. Each KF has attached to it a currency key. In your case this key doesn't correspond to local currency set for 0COMPANY.
    This causes the error.
If I were you, I'd try to replace incoming local currency key by the proper currency key. The particular solution may depend on your details. Try to add an attribute of currency to 0COMP_CODE and to MOVE this attribute to local currency in mapping.
Very straight forward but not flexible is to use a CONSTANT in mapping (if all the companies have the same local currency). If not - use also a condition which will determine for which company code which local currency to apply.

  • Alternate Exchange Rate Type Not Picked while converting from Document Currency to Group Currency

    Hello Gurus,
We have setup an alternate Exchange Rate type MNB for rate M for the postings happening in Hungary. Local currency is HUF. Group currency is USD.
If the document currency is, lets say, EUR, latest MNB rate is correctly picked up (EUR to HUF) and postings are correctly converted into local currency (HUF).
Although, for the same document, when a group currency is being calculated (EUR to USD), exchange rate type M is being picked up. Same happens if  document currency is HUF. Even then, the conversion is based on exchange rate type M.
Is this a normal SAP behavior? How to prevent/correct this? This is also throwing off balances when we check in FAGLB03 or BSEG values in local and group currencies. In OB22, we have local currency1 and local currency 2 setup with exchange rate type M and we may not want to make any changes there as it is setup at global level.
Do we need to run any valuations after the fact? if so, how?
Thank you for your inputs in advance.
    Regards,
    Sagar

    Hi,
You mentioned that "in OB22, we have local currency1 and local currency 2 setup with exchange rate type M". Then, I'm wondering how MNB is picked up for the first local curr. conversion to HUF? It should be 'M' instead. There must be some settings in your instance for such behavior. Can you check that?
Actually, Group Curr. conversion happens with the rate defined for 2nd Loc.Curr.in OB22 which is 'M' in your case. Therefore, all the transactions are converted with M instead of MNB.
Since you can't change OB22 per global co.policy, the exch.rate defined in OBA7 will overrule OB22. However, you've to make sure it's set up for all doc.types which are affected and posted in different curr. than HUF.
As a workaround, another thought would be to maintain the same conversion rate for both exch.rate types MNB & M, for eg. HUF > USD rate is the same both exch.rate type MNB & M. This way, you ensure all transactions are posted with correct exch.rate irrespective of whatever rate type is used.
From business, & global org. perspective, I'm sure they are sending the 'M' exch.rates to all their sister concerns monthly, so they would like to consolidate results as per standard rate in their system. Then, why ,as a local company, would you like to fiddle with standard process? It's a management decision, please run them through again before going ahead.
    Thanks,
    Nirav
