BPM giving problem in Merging and Splitting

Hi Gurus,
Im trying to BPM scenarios,
First i tried to Merging Two message and send to one receiver system. In that both Sender and Receiver communication channel are wokring fine.. all are showing green light.. and the files also got processed from sender side but i cant get result the output side. i checked my abstract interfaces , interfacing mapping and Container variables in IP everthing is right.. Even this is not 1:N or N:1 mapping , all message types are having occurance of 1:1 only. when i checked using SXMB_moni... there my two sender are succesfully sending the messages and ip getting the message.. after IP should act as a sender right. that msg not there... what would be the problem... even correlation also correct using the common filed's xpath i was combing the msg. In IP im getting the Yellow color warnin like correlating not used in sender step but no error. but i activated the correlation in sender step and assigned the xpath of the common field.
After that i tried to do splitting same problem occuring.. no message in receiver side.. i double checked my abstract interfaces, inbound , outbound interfaces, interface mapping and container variable everthing was assigned properly. In IP Only a blue color waring i getting like receiver determination initialized but not used but no error , but when i checked the interface determination it was fine.. i created receiver type local variabled with multiline . this is not 1;N or N;1 mapping... a simple mapping

Please help me.. i have tried many times.. still the same problem exits...
source msg type having 5 elemtn.. first 2 element mapped first target msg type and remaining fields mapped to receiver 2 target msg type.
IP step are configured as below
Container Variables: send,recv1, recv2, 2 receiver type msg for receiver determination (Receiver1, Receiver2) both are multilined.
Receiver step : sender msg type (sender abs interface type)
Transformation : Has the interface mapping and one source msg and 2 target msg

Branch1:
receiver determination1 :receiver msgtype (recv1) and the multiline element (receiver1) type of receiver.
sender1 step: receiver msg type (recv1) and Receiver from-> Receiver List : Receiver->Receiver1
Branch2:
receiver determination2 :receiver msgtype (recv2) and the multiline element (receiver2) type of receiver.
sender2: step.. receiver msg type (recv2) and Receiver from-> Receiver List : Receiver->Receiver2.
But msg going to IP.. after that IP not start to send msg...
Please tell me.. what im doing wrong here?

Problem in Upload and Split

Hello All,
I have one text file with 'TAB' seperated fields. When i am uploading this file into UNIX server(thru customize prog) fille uploaded successfully but it take field sepration '#' instead of 'TAB'.
now uploaded file looks like

Now if i am split this file to '#' it is not heppening.

Can you check the contents of lv_file after read statement is it just like format you gave : AAA#BBB#CCC#DDD#
I tried the sample code it works:
DATA:

Problem in Merging PDF files

Need to print batches of PDF. The command copy *.PDF > LPT1: (redirected by NET USE) doesn't work. On the printer I get an error message. All files are sent in one file. . I guess this is related to the PDF header which is not set correctly for the second PDF copied. I mean, according to the PDF Reference guide, the proper syntax for a PDF file header is for the "%PDF-<version>" comment to be the first line of the PDF file. The recommended second line is a comment line with four binary characters to indicate the file contains binary information. . Acrobat requires only that the header appears somewhere within the first 1024 bytes of the file. . I guess the Rip is not able to convert PDF into PS before its interpretation as the second header exceeds 1024. Even the combined file has %%EOF before each PDF Header, this is probably not enough to merge them without problem. . Did you experience the same ? Thanks for your comments. Regards. Franck

You can use it to merge PDF files, html files, text files and images,
set the page orientation, compression level and page size.

Merge Events / Split Events buttons missing

The new iPhoto has removed two buttons I use frequently: Merge events and Split events. When I go for a weekend trip, I want all of the photos to be in the same event.
The Merge option and the Auto Split option is in the menu. But it'd be nice to have it on the control bar at the bottom again, as it was before.
How about an option in the Preferences to put things in the control bar?

I also missed the buttons to Merge and Split events which I do frequently. I did find a keyboard shortcut for Splitting Events is the S key. Simply select the photos you want to split off into an event and then press S. So, I thought they must have made M a shortcut for merge, but no, they didn't. I will also send feedback to Apple regarding this. We should have a way to customize the bar with these options.

Generally setting a common Album title and Album Artist will fix things.
For compilations that aren't, select all tracks, Get Info, and on the option tab set Part of a Compilation to No. If it already says No tick the box alongside, then click OK.

Sliding Window Table Partitioning Problems with RANGE RIGHT, SPLIT, MERGE using Multiple File Groups

There is misleading information in two system views (sys.data_spaces & sys.destination_data_spaces) about the physical location of data after a partitioning MERGE and before an INDEX REBUILD operation on a partitioned table. In SQL Server 2012 SP1 CU6,
the script below (SQLCMD mode, set DataDrive & LogDrive variables for the runtime environment) will create a test database with file groups and files to support a partitioned table. The partition function and scheme spread the test data across
4 files groups, an empty partition, file group and file are maintained at the start and end of the range. A problem occurs after the SWITCH and MERGE RANGE operations, the views sys.data_spaces & sys.destination_data_spaces show the logical, not the physical,
location of data.

The file in File Group 2 appears to contain data but it can be dropped. Although the system views are reporting the data in File Group 2, it still physically resides in File Group 3 and isn’t moved until the index is rebuilt. The RANGE RIGHT function means
the left file group (File Group 2) is retained when splitting ranges.
RANGE LEFT would have retained the data in File Group 3 where it already resided, no INDEX REBUILD is necessary to effectively complete the MERGE operation. The script below implements the same partitioning strategy (data distribution between partitions)
on the test table but uses different boundary definitions and RANGE LEFT.

The table below shows the results of the ‘Confirm Table Partitioning’ query, before and after the MERGE.
The data in the File and File Group to be dropped (File Group 2) has already been switched out; File Group 3 contains the data so no index rebuild is needed to move data and complete the MERGE.
RANGE RIGHT would not be a problem in a ‘Sliding Window’ if the same file group is used for all partitions, when they are created and dropped it introduces a dependency on full index rebuilds. Larger tables are typically partitioned and a full index rebuild
might be an expensive operation. I’m not sure how a RANGE RIGHT partitioning strategy could be implemented, with an ascending partitioning key, using multiple file groups without having to move data. Using a single file group (multiple files) for all partitions
within a table would avoid physically moving data between file groups; no index rebuild would be necessary to complete a MERGE and system views would accurately reflect the physical location of data.
If a RANGE RIGHT partition function is used, the data is physically in the wrong file group after the MERGE assuming a typical ascending partitioning key, and the 'Data Spaces' system views might be misleading. Thanks to Manuj and Chris for a lot of help

NOTE 10/03/2014 - The solution
The solution is so easy it's embarrassing, I was using the wrong boundary points for the MERGE (both RANGE LEFT & RANGE RIGHT) to get rid of historic data.

SHARED MEMORY AND DATABASE MEMORY giving problem.

I am facing problem with EXPORT MEMORY and IMPORT MEMORY.
I have developed one program which will EXPORT the internal table and some variables to the memory.This program will call another program via background job. IMPORT memory used in another program to get the first program data.
This IMPORT command is working perfect in foreground. But it is not working in background.
So, I have reviewed couple of forums and I tried both SHARED MEMORY AND DATABASE MEMORY. But no use. Still background is giving problem.
When I remove VIA JOB parameter in the SUBMIT statement it is working. But i need to execute this program in background via background job. Please help me . what should I do?

Hi.
You can not exchange data between your programs using ABAP memory, because this memory is shared between objects within the same internal session.
When you call your report using VIA JOB, a new session is created.
Instead of using EXPORT and IMPORT to memory, put both programs into the same Function Group, and use global data objects of the _TOP include to exchange data.
Another option, is to use SPA/GPA parameters (SET PARAMETER ID / GET PARAMETER ID), because SAP memory it is available between all open sessions. Of course, it depends on wich type of data you want to export.

HELP I am doing a Data Merge and It is only giving me one record per page!

I really need help here. I am doing a data merge and have selected the options for doing multiple records per page but instead it is merging everything to it's own page. Can someone tell me what I am missing?

Why do you say you can't do a multiple record merge to a table?
I've never had any trouble putting placeholders into a table. It's the way I do most of the datamerge that I work with.
My mistake… I was confused with the script, and I must confess I had never tried (until now) to use tables as placeholders, but it works.

BPM: How to Raise Alert and Restart together ?

The requirement is like this.My Integration Process receives a message, performs a 1:N split and undergoes further processing using Transformation steps. I want to ensure the following in case any one of the Transfofrmation fails(Because of some coding error in the step):
1. Raise an Alert
2. Should be able to restart the Process again from the
   failed step once the Transformation code is fixed.
3. To raise an Alert for any file adapter level errors,
   and to restart the processing of the message once the
   file adpter error is resolved
I have tried the following approaches, but it does not help me achieve all of the above condition.
I have put the Transformation step in a Block and introduced an exception branch with one control step which raises an Alert.
Issue: This will raise an alert when the step fails, but it ends the BPM with a Processed status and hence I will not be able to restart the BPM.
So I put another Control step immediately following the Alert step which raises an exception. However I have not handled this exception. Hence when a step fails, I am able to raise an alert as well as the BPM gets errored out.
Issue : However, now when I restart the process in swf_xi_swpr, The process restarts with the Control step which was used to throw exception. It does not restart with the Failed mapping step.
To raise Alerts for Adpter level errors which might occur before the message comes to BPM, I have defined alert category and rule in runtime workbench. However, the Alerts are not triggered when the file adapter fails.
Please share any ideas on how to achieve all the 3
requirements together.

I was facing a very similar problem in my BPM modelling.
Is there really no other chance than to loop (and maybe wait some time) over the critical (e.g. networking down, ...) parts of the BPM to have some active notification via alerts AND a possibility for retry?
In my opinion this would a very inflexible way of doing error-handling stuff - if so - is it about to change in the upcoming releases?
Currently I guess I can have:
a) either ALERTING (by catching exception and raise alert)
OR
b) convenient retry mechansisms via "SWF_XI_SWPR" (by not catching exceptions at all and let the relevant block become "errorenous") ...
Any other suggestions ...?

Problem with JFrame and busy/wait Cursor

Hi -- I'm trying to set a JFrame's cursor to be the busy cursor,
for the duration of some operation (usually just a few seconds).
I can get it to work in some situations, but not others.
Timing does seem to be an issue.
There are thousands of posts on the BugParade, but
in general Sun indicates this is not a bug. I just need
a work-around.
I've written a test program below to demonstrate the problem.
I have the problem on Solaris, running with both J2SE 1.3 and 1.4.
I have not tested on Windows yet.
When you run the following code, three JFrames will be opened,
each with the same 5 buttons. The first "F1" listens to its own
buttons, and works fine. The other two (F2 and F3) listen
to each other's buttons.
The "BUSY" button simply sets the cursor on its listener
to the busy cursor. The "DONE" button sets it to the
default cursor. These work fine.
The "SLEEP" button sets the cursor, sleeps for 3 seconds,
and sets it back. This does not work.
The "INVOKE LATER" button does the same thing,
except is uses invokeLater to sleep and set the
cursor back. This also does not work.
The "DELAY" button sleeps for 3 seconds (giving you
time to move the mouse into the other (listerner's)
window, and then it behaves just like the "SLEEP"
button. This works.
Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks.

I've had the same problems with cursors and repaints in a swing application, and I was thinking of if I could use invokeLater, but I never got that far with it.
I still believe you would need a thread for the time consuming task, and that invokeLater is something you only need to use in a thread different from the event thread.

Problems with outlook and address book contacts: my outlook contacts had around 3,000 entries. Outlook duplicated by itself and now outlook and address book have each over 340,000. What should I do?

I reinstalled microsoft office and, thus, outlook, and reinstalled mac OS X system and applications. While I managed to delete outlook contacts so that I can re-sync with my blackberry, the contacts at Mac Address Book were not deleted and still have over 340,000 entries. I do not mind deleting all contacts since I have back up, but I have not been able to delete them. Also, when I go at Address Book and try to delete or merge duplicated entries, the system takes forever and never ends because of such large amount of entries. Worse, when I do so I run out of RAM memory.
My Macbook pro is just 2 months old.
What should I do? Is there a way to delete my Mac Address Book without having the problem above?

Problem with read() and EOF

I'm inputting a file that has a total of 18 entries delimited by commas Ex. ( 4, 5, 200, 780, 1, 0, 0, 12, 6, 0, 129, 24, 21, 44, 133, 62, 158, 7). My problem is that on the very last entry I can't get it to stop because it's looking for a comma. I tried all sorts of things like checking for if current.read() == -1 and so on but nothing seems to trigger it. If I change the while loop to go for one more time through it gives me 7followed by infinite "?". No errors are thrown so I can't even pinpoint anything that way. All I need to do is be able to read the last set of characters after the last comma and then make it stop and this program will work the way it's supposed to. Any suggestions??
