BPM or What ????

Hi,
I am working on File(csv) 2 File(csv) scenario. At sender side, i got field, if its updated then only a new file need to be created, otherwise the updation will take place on existing file at target side.
I am wondering Do i need BPM for this???? If yes, Pls provide your Inputs..
Or Any other way out for this...?????
Regards
Sumit

Hi Michal,
Thanks for your immediate response...
I think i didnt put the question the way i need the scenario to work.....
Actually, at my source side I got 2 Files <b>source1.csv</b> and  <b>source2.csv.</b>
There is one file <b>target.csv</b> at receiver side. <b>Target.csv</b> is being updated from 2 source files source1.csv and source2.csv.
There is field called QM in source1.csv, if QM is updated with value 'Released' then we need to create a new file at target side like target1.csv otherwise, update will happen in Target.csv....
Because there are some conditions at source side... So do i need BPM????
Regards
Sumit

Shouldn't @StartDate be an input parameter to the stored procedure? @RunDate also?

  • BPM TOOL, what is Visual Composer Vs  any other BPM Tool

Could you please share information regarding using a modeling tool to author business process [as-is/to-be]
ours is new implemantation and we already own sap business suite software, and our implementation /configuration Team is considering of using a bpm tool to do capture the processes.
my question is what leverage can we take of Visual Composer ? when compared with other BPM Tool.

If you have license for SAP Suite, then there is lot of things you can leverage with VC than it being useless if otherwise.
    1. You can combine the output from the quick design and code free modeling environment of Visual Composer with the output from a full coding environment like Web Dynpro ABAP or BSP? Actually you can do just such a thing thanks to Portal Eventing. You can trigger event from VC. Yes, you can combine ABAP and VC
    2. You can extend Visual Composer through Web Services
    3. You can do an MDM integration in VC - combining data from varied sources
    4. You can build a Web Services Based Visual Composer Application. Visual Composer has the capability to easily link to and consume a web service from within the SAP NetWeaver Visual Composer storyboard.
Also, if you are using BSP, these applications can be linked  into a Visual Composer application. The linking is done via portal eventing. Linking these two technologies into a single application with receiving and parsing the Visual Composer event string from within ABAP.
    5. SAP has released 300+ Enterprise Services and there are many ways to consume these. A BPX can use Visual Composer and the Composite Application Framework (CAF) to consume SAP Enterprise Services using MDD - Model drived development.
    6. SAP NetWeaver Visual Composer users can develop rich graphical interfaces that extend current investments in their SAP NetWeaver infrastructure by using Flex technology (colloboration with Macromdeia) , and businesses can gain credible, clear and comprehensive business insights through new analytics solutions. There are 100+ IS specific Analytic Applications.
With the new improvements in VC 7.0 it is very clear that the future benefits align and will be much more leveraged with Visual composer
    Hope this helps
    Cheers

  • ** Multiline checkbox in BPM - At what situcation we select this

    Hi Friends,
Still I am not clear to check 'Mulltiline' in Container area of the BPM. At what situations, we select this ? In the loop, transformation, or ...?
Friends, could you kindly tell clearly this use in detail ? If possible, with example.
    Thanking you,
    Jeg P.

    Hi,
A multiline container element is a table comprising elements of the same type. For example, if you want to gather messages in a container element, you must define this element as a multiline container element.
you can be able to Accessing details from multiline object attribute..
You need to mark the checkbox multiline if the sender data will be comming to container with multiple records and have to imply the logic or to consider each records in container, you need to mark it as Multiline.
Refer some of the links for useage of Multiline
Accessing details from multiline object attribute..

  • What is BPM

    Hi
    I am new to BPM.
I have ADF background..How to start with BPM? what is the relation between ADF and BPM ?
I have to work on ADF with BPM..have to do some poc with both..can anybody help me how to start it?
    Thanks

Regarding the BPM / ADF tie. You can think of it as being three layers - Interactive activities in a process, their corresponding human task and the ADF task flow invoked by the human task.
Oracle BPM processes can have interactive activities that are done by people assigned to a role in the process or are specifically assigned to them. An end user is assigned a work item instance when the task enters one of the interactive activities in the process that they are assigned to. When this occurs, new task appears in that end users inbox in the Workspace or WebCenter Spaces.
When designing the process, each of the Interactive activities in the process are associated with a human task when the process is designed. Each human task is associated with an ADF task flow.
At runtime, this means that when an end user clicks one of the tasks in their inbox, the human task associated with that Interactive activity in the process is invoked which in turn executes the ADF taskflow associated with the human task. When the taskflow is invoked it renders the ADF form associated with the ADF task flow to the end user inside of the Workspace.
One of the most confusing things is how the payload of the work item instance is rendered and how this can be used to retrieve ADFbc information that you are already familiar with. In addition to what Ravi and Sudipto sent you, here are a couple more blogs that might help show the relationship between ADF and the BPM process instance payload:

  • How to raise alert in BPM

    Hi Experts,
Please tell me how to raise alert using control step in BPM. What are the other steps to be used with control step for raising alerts?
Is CCMS Alerts and Alerts by BPM are same? If they are not the same, how they are different to each other?
my requirement is, simply i want to raise a mapping, data related errors by Alert.
in addition to it, i want to raise alerts for any failure in IE.
Could any one tell , what are the sequence of steps needed in BPM for the above requirement?  Plz take a IDOC to FTP receiver scenario and explain me BPM steps.

  • Message in BPM

    Hello everyone,
I have two diff  interfaces both are outbound Interfaces to which there is common i/P IDOC ,
Both the interfaces are using BPM.
When we trigger an IDOC from background SAP system , Interface 1 completes successfully .
But The iNterface 2 gets stuck with an error:
"Message interface is not used by this process" , This message is just before the message is passed to BPE.
Any hints / ideas will be appreciated.
    Cheers,

"Message interface is not used by this process" , This message is just before the message is passed to BPE.
A common type of error in BPM scenarios
    What to do:
    1) Confirm (100%) that the Message Types used by the Sender Interface and the one entering the BPM are the same. If any mapping is involved in the Interface Determination of Sender ---> BPM then confirm that the target message type of the mapping and that of the Input message ofBPM are same.
    2) Make some dummy change in the corresponding Receiver Determination, Interface Determination and the receive Step of BPM; save and activate.
    3) Ensure the BPM is error/ warning free (F7) and cache is updated (return code is 0 in SXI_CACHE)
    REgards,
    Abhishek.

  • Process Ownership in Cross Organisation BPM

    Hi all,
What are the pros and cons of using Peer-to-Peer based decentralise approach for managing Inter-Organisational BPM?
What are the challenges and what are the benefits from the aspects like autonomy, governance, security, modelling, monitoring, and process ownership?
    Regards,
    Ganesh Sawant

    PROS:
Using the Webservices you can trigger the BPM Process and pass the values from the web dypro component which will available for the end user and pass it on to the BPM Proess.
We can use EJB as a webservice, where the automated activity in the BPM can output the value based on the logic in the EJB Function. We can manage the automated activity which runs in the back ground of the process as per our logic and returns the value to the next task.
    CONS
Using Webservices in the various activity with fewer data is not advisable as it takes longer time to deploy the process. And any change in the data in the webservices requires regularly re importing of the web services.

  • Idoc - BPM - Idoc

    Hi,
    My Scenario is as below:
An Idoc is sent from ERP to XI. based on a value in a specific segment, It has to call a Web Service. The outcome of Web Service has to be put into another segment of idoc and send the Idoc to CRM.
I have done configuration in such a way that Idoc from ERP goes directly to CRM. This is working properly.
Now I have to use BPM to model the above process instead of Idoc directly going from ERP to CRM.
Can any one help me of how I should start this scenario in BPM. What is the first step in modelling this using BPM.
    Thanks,

  • What is the best practice to display info of completed task in process flow

    Hi all,
I'm starting to study BPM modeling with CE7.1 EHP1. Thanks to the tutorial and example on SDN site and I can easily build my own process in NWDS and deploy to server, start it, finish it.
I like the new runtime which can show a BPMN diagram to the processors. However, I can't find a way to let the follow up processor to review the task result completed in previous step. I'm more familiar with Guided Procedure, and know there is "Display Callable Object" which can used to show some info of a completed task when the processor/owner/admin/overseer click on a completed task.  Where is the feature in BPM ? What is the best practice to show such task information in BPM environment.
For example, A multiple level approval process, the higher level approver need to know the comment written by the previous approver. Can he read this information from process flow ?
I think it is very important feature for a BPM platform. In Guided Procedure, such requirement can be done with Display Callable Object + View Permission, and you just need some coding for the UI. If BPM is superior to GP, I think there must be a way to achieve this, I just do not know how ?
Can anyone shed me some light on it ?

    Oliver,
    Thanks for your quick reply.
Yes, Notes and Attachment CAN BE USED for the purpose. But I'm still looking for a more elegant solution.
With the solution of using Notes/Attachment, the processor need to give input at two places : the task UI and Note/Attach , with similar or same data. It is really annoying.
Is there any SAP BPM real-world deployment ? None of customer has the requirement ?

  • Message Mapping outside BPM

I often see a point from XI-Legends that a Message Mapping should be executed out side the BPM and that will make the XI performance good.
How to do a Message Mapping outside BPM? What does it mean?
Any Blog that narrates the above situation?
    Thanks.

    Data Types
    Source/Sender Data Format ---     DT_Sender File
    Target/Receiver Data Format --     DT_Receiver
    Message Types
    Sender Message Type -  MT_SenderFile
    Receiver Message Type - MT_ReceiverFile
    Message Interface
    MI_OB_Sender(Async, Outbound)            MI_IB_Receiver(Asynch,Inbound)
    AI_Sender(Async, Abstract)                    AI_Receiver(Async,Abstract)
    So
if the mappaing is done between
MI_OB_Sender       To   AI_Receiver           (Its Before BPM)
AI_Sender              To   MI_IB_Receiver      (Its After BPM)
AI_Sender              to  AI_Receiver            (Its inside BPM)
Whether my understanding is correct? Thanks for your patience.
