BPM Synchronous file to file scenario
Hi All,
Could anyone please guide me for BPM Synchronous FILE2FILE steps. I am learning BPM.
Design: I want the sender file to be put to receiver. and from receiver i need to fetch the same output file and give back to the sender after transforming back to sender structure.(I want to learn the flow.).
Regards,
Senthilprakash.
Hi guys and my old friend Navneet,
File doesnt support Sysnchronous as we all know. and when we try to achive Synhronous via BPM. It will not execute the Synchronous Send Step Interface in the BPM. As this step will require a Sync Interface so this interface will require Response Message(Target to Source) immediately once it process the request message(Source to Target).
Thou we will schedule the CC and have another Seder Adapter from (Target to Sender). The Synchronous interface in the syn Send step inside the BPM will fail as File wont Trigger any Response Message for the Sync Interface once the Request Message is processed.
File to File is not possible with a Synchronous Interface.
We can acheive the design with BPM in a way that it sends from Source to Target with a Asynchronous Interface(Source to Target).
and anohter Interface with scheduled CC to pick the file from Target to Source with another Asynchronous Interface(Target to Source).
NOTE: Above all can be done without BPM also. But as i had already told i just wanted to Design and check a BPM :).
Regards,
Senthilprakash.

BPM synchronous file - soap - file
Hi Friends,
I am working on scenario in which I am going pick up XML file from my system using File adapter and send to partner using SOAP adapter and in response I am going to receive an XML file that I have to store in some folder in my system.
Without doing any configuration in IR , and configuring only ID I was able to get response that I can see in SXMB_MONI but I am not able to save it.
1) Is there any way I can save that response without configuring any thing in IR?
2) I got some details from SDN that it can be done by using BPM in IR. If so please let me knw general approach that I should take to achieve above requirement.
Thanks.....may be we can achieve this by using the FILE sync flow as mentioned in this doc:
https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/File-RFC-File%28Without%20BPM%29
You will have to include the response message in the FILE_OB_SYNC MI appropriately.....and as described you will be using two file channels...one sender and other receiver....so the receiver will paste the file to the desired location.....you can avoid BPM then....
IF your SP is not compatible then you need to use BPM:
Receive(FILE) ->Transformation(IfNeeded)>SyncSend(SOAP)>Transformation(IfNeeded)-->SendAsync(FILE)

HTTP-RFC(BPM)-FILE Scenario
I have a problem on using the 'http-RFC(BPM)-File scenario'. When i enter values using the Client http adapter, it displays message telling that "BPE_ADDAPTER.SYNCHONOUS_MESSAGE"
The error msg is displayed below:
Result:
<SAP:Error>
<SAP:Category>XIAdapter</SAP:Category>
<SAP:Code>BPE_ADAPTER.SYNCHONOUS_MESSAGE</SAP:Code>
<SAP:Stack>The process does not support the given synchronous interface or does not support synchronous messages</SAP:Stack>
</SAP:Error>
Also in SAP XI monitor, the sender services along with the corresponding sender interfaces.
Expecting this prob will be off soon.
thanks
vinod vHi Vinod,
your process is asynchronous (no sync async bridge). But you send "Quality of Service = Best Effort" (Url paramater qos=BE). You should send "Exactly Once" (EO).

BPM error (Rfc to file scenario)
Dear Experts,
I'm doing a RFC-FILE scenario with BPM. I have followed the blog RFC Scenario using BPM --Starter Kit by Arpit Seth.
The file is getting picked up. But in SXMB_MONI i get the following error:

In SXMB_MONI_BPE, there are no workflows for the integration process.
What could be wrong?
Please help.

Issue in File to RFC to File Scenario with BPM using Block Step
Hi Everybody,
I am doing File to RFC to File Scenario for multiple records using BPM using Block Step. The File Message is getting posted and after that, the message is getting stuck up in the qRFC Monitor (Inbound Queue).
After seeing the message in Inbound Queue, I am trying to execute and release the message. But when i execute the LUW, it says " Function module doesnt exist or EXCEPTION raised" in Inbound queue.
Could somebody suggest me the outcome of this? What does this mean and how to
release the stuck up message in Queue.
Thanks and Regards,
N.Jayanth KumarHi Rajesh,
After going through the blog, i saw the trace messages. It says
" The exception occurred (program: CL_SWF_XI_INBOUND=============CP, include CL_SWF_XI_INBOUND=============CM00F, line: 19)"

Process sequence in File - XI/BPM - File scenario
how does QOS works within BPM, Since some processes may take time to process for whatever reasons ( due to some delays ).
I'm planning to develop a scenario like this.
I have 7 files which have same Batch number as part of File name which Iam planning to use as Correlation in BPM.
File 1 starts BPM.
Within BPM, all other 6 files will be received and sent out.
Then File 1 should be sent
Then I need to make SOAP call to trigger event on the 3rd party application.
My question is
If I use EOIO as QOS on the Sender file adapters, how does the process works in the following situations.
File 1 - Batch 1 arrives - BPM process 1 starts
File2 - batch 1 arrives - BPM process receivs and sends message
BPM here still waiting to receive files
File 1 - batch 2 arrives - BPM Process 2 starts
All other files . Since all files arrived, all files will be be received and sent out in BPM.
Now question is
BPM Process 1 is still waiting for other files to arrive and BPM process 2 is completed ( Are files will be waiting in Queue here ???)
Does writing of the files on the receiver side will be postponed until queue receives the files from BPM process 1 since I sued QOS as EOIO for all files ?
Would someone please clarify this please.Hi,
In this blog, I have used Business <b>Service</b> created in the integration directory.. This is an abstract . So I need to specify , the Sender and Receiver Interfaces explicitly in the business service. and it doesnot have any entry in the SLD.
But if you create the Business System in the SLD and if you import that into the Integration Directory-->Assign this into your configurations scenario, then this step is not required.
Regd. Importing Integration Process- BPM is kind of Abstract Service.. i.e BPM is acting as a Receiver Service and Sender service both..
i,e Source to BPM ( here BPM is a Receiver)
BPM to Target( here BPM is a Sender Service)
Hope this clarifies..

BPM not starting in a File - RFC- File scenario

In SXMB_MONI_BPE, I don't see anything. Seems like the BPM process never started.Check these threads :

Soap to File Scenario with BPM
Hi Guys
I have create my Soap to File Scenario using BPM to split the file on "Transformation step" into 7 files and it must save these files to my FTP Server, when testing on sxmb_moni I don't get any errors but when checking on the FTP server no files are created, and I understand that it should be showing all seven processing on the sxmb_moni, but that is not happening.
I have used the ForEach mode on my Block.
What could I be doing wrong.

Problem with File RFC File scenario without using BPM
Hi all,
I am trying a File RFC File scenario without using BPM with the help of the following thread:
File - RFC - File without a BPM - Possible from SP 19.
The XI system is PI 7.0 sp 12. When I am trying to acheive the above scenario, I am getting wierd results i.e., when I observe in SXI_MONITOR, the message is showing as processed successfully, but when I watch the message status in communication channel monitoring, I am getting the following error:
"Attempt to process file failed with com.sap.aii.af.service.cpa.CPAException: Couldn't retrieve inbound binding for the given P/S/A values: FP=;TP=;FS=DEV120;TS=Test_Service;AN=MI_Invoice;ANS=urn:sap.com:test;"
I am not able to understand what the problem is. By the way, one more thing, is, I have kept the File processing mode as "Delete" in the sender file adapter. But the file is not getting deleted. I think the reason could be because of the above error.
Can any body help me out in getting my problem resolved?
Thanks,

Why we dont need sender agreement and comm channel in IDOC to file scenario
Hi,
there are 2 queries:
first query :
Scenario is "Idoc to file transfer"
why we dont need sender agreement and communication channel for IDOC to file ,while we do need
both of these for "File to RFC "
Answer : which i got is because IDOC sits at ABAP stack but same is valid for RFC also.
Then why For "IDOC to file" we dont need that.
Second query:
Also when i did scenario for File1-RFC-File2 scenario using BPM i have created a interface
between XI-RFC synchronous to send data which we got from file1 in XI to RFC importing parameter
and getting data from RFC back to File2.
Here in IDOC to file scenario why we dont need any interfface for IDOC-XI Asynchronous.

Edited by: mayank verdia on Jan 13, 2009 11:50 AMDear All,
For file to idoc scenario is there any possibility to get line items details or xml details i.e the segments and its related field details using reference id, transaction id or interface name or message id in SAP PI 7.0. I know we need to click each and every message in sxi_monitor and look for details.
For SAP(R3 System) I can create a report and set the job for specific time period so automatically it throws the details(like reference no, document date, invoice no from) in ftp path as .csv file. The same ftp path is maintained in program.
I wanted to check FTP--->PI postings and I have set the job at r3 system it is working fine and Im monitoring it too.
Now the end to end scenario is FTP--->PI--->ECC(R3 system). Please help. Many Thanks. -
File - to - JDBC- to - File Scenario using Stored Procedure
Hi,
I want to do File - to - JDBC - to - File scenario, because I'm getting data in a file format and that data i want to load in a database. Database level i have a stored procedure. if any exceptions. my stored procedure will give the Response. so, now i want to store that resposne in a file..
for this. what are the steps we have to use. is this scenario will comes in Synch ronous or Asynchronous ? and I have searched the web blogs also. al the blogs are related to Http or Soap with JDBC . so, please give me some input help about this...
how many data types we have to create... any body having step step procedure for this...

JainHi,
You will need a BPM in your design as Sender File adapter does not support Synchronous messaging. Refer my answer in this thread (page 2) and have your design accordingly....instead of RFC you will have a file adapter as the ultimate receiver.
Re: BPM FILE--> JDBC--> RFC
Just take care of below things:
1) JDBC message format is as per the guidelines
[Message format for sending req to JDBC|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/2e/96fd3f2d14e869e10000000a155106/content.htm]
2) check for the format of your source and target file format (if it is a Flat-file with a xml structure that XI can parse then no need of FCC but if it is a CSV file then you will need FCC)

Hallo Everybody,
In one of the requirements, for the interface design which involves IDOC-FILE scenario we have a req as:-
Multiple IDOCs would be sent from SAP R/3 to SAP XI. Each IDOC can have 0-4 segments and for each segment a file needs to created.
The files needs to be FTPed to a location, only if all the IDOCs have been processed successfully.
Requirement:
1) Even if a single IDOC fails, the files should not be FTPed. --> How do we handle this in XI.
2) We need to send a notification from XI, in case any IDOC processing fails.
3) How do we check in XI, if all the IDOCs have been processed successfully.
Please suggest me with some good stategies to resolve this issue.
Appreciations and Rewards in line.

YounusHi
Are you planning to use BPM as it suits your requirement.
To collect the idocs in small bunches refer
Collecting IDocs without using BPM
1) Even if a single IDOC fails, the files should not be FTPed. --> How do we handle this in XI.
BPM will allow you to wait for the time all IDOC are processed
2) We need to send a notification from XI, in case any IDOC processing fails.
BPM exception handling will allow this functionality even to the exact field you want to send notification
3) How do we check in XI, if all the IDOCs have been processed successfully.
