BPM Workspace Roles

Hi ;
I need to get my process' roles (not application role) via api, and set ldap group or user to this roles. Is it possible? And any API is available that my access?
Thanks..

Hi
1. This information will be in one of the attributes in the out of box payload that has all the Task details. Using APIs, first get Task, SystemAttributesType and try the method getAssignees(). Look at the API of oracle.bpel.services.workflow.task.model.SystemAttributesType. For quick testing, for a Role, assign some Groups, direct users and also some other roles. Then try all the APIs related to this.
2. I instantiated a simple Task. Sent it to Reviewer and then Supervisor. So I have 3 instances. Went to EM Console, and inspect the Flow and the payload for this instance. For each Task, I can see the input and output payload. In the payload, I could see a section like this, that has the JDeveloper Studio Roles associated for that task.
Other members can share if there is any other simpler way to get this.
Thanks
Ravi Jegga
import oracle.bpel.services.workflow.task.model.Task;
import org.w3c.dom.Element;
import oracle.bpel.services.workflow.task.model.SystemAttributesType;
Task task = // Get this object using the APIs. Google to find lot of code samples for this..
Element taskPayload = task.getPayloadAsElement();
SystemAttributesType taskSystemAttributes = task.getSystemAttributes();
taskSystemAttributes.getAssignees();
// In the Task Payload from EM Console, this is the section I could see within the full payload
          <systemAttributes>
            <assignees>
              <id>MyApp.ReviewRequest</id>
              <displayName>MyApp.ReviewRequest</displayName>
              <type>application_role</type>
            </assignees>
          </systemAttributes>

  • BPM roles not avaialable in BPM workspace

    Hi ,
    I am facing an issue with the BPM workspace. I deployed my BPM process in my SOA server. But I am not able to view the roles defined in my BPM application in BPM workspace. I can muanuaaly add the role under Application Roles in Fusion Middleware control by adding <composite_name>.<role_name> but I don't want to do this. I want the roles to be avaialable automatically when I deploy my BPM application. Can you please suggest me the cause of this issue and a probable solution?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Roshni,
    How did u added the roles .
    Generally You/Admin has to create the Applications Roles/ Users, Groups before developing the BPM Process.
    Once U created, For Human Activity/Task you will be assigning the roles like Manager, Supervisor, etc.
    Then you need to login to the BPM Workspace using same role and password so that you can Complete the tasks assigned to particular role...
    Hope this might help you..

    Pavan

  • BPM 11g Role Assignment not Reflected on BPM Workspace

    Hi,
    I'm having trouble with role maping in JDeveloper for my BPM 11g project, where the server groups mapped against a particular applcation role is not reflected in BPM workspace.
    I'm mapping application roles with server groups in the Organization section of my BPM project in JDeveloper, but when I open the Administration section of the BPM workspace, I see that the appropriate section is blank where there should be the server group assigned.
    I have confirmed that the server groups are in place, and have users associated with them. I even tried ti with the Administrators groups of WebLogic, with the same results.
    However, when I deployed this same project on an Oracle On Demand server, the JDeveloper role maapping was successfully deployed along with my process. Could anyone please provide some insight in this matter?
    I'm working on JDeveloper and SOA 11.1.1.5
    Thanks,
    Debojit

    HI,
    In 11g you have the concept of Global Links. You can refer to http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/user.1111/e15175/bpmug_ext_apps.htm#BACCACGI fro example of how this can be acheived
    I think there are also some samples on java.net for Oracle BPM Suite however this appears to be down at the time of posting so I can not validate this.
    Hope this helps

  • BPM Application Link does not appear in BPM Workspace (11.1.1.7)

    I spent huge amount of time to reveal why does that happens.
    All that follows further is valid for BPM Suite 11.1.1.7.
    The scenario.
    You developed a simple BPM process with Initiator pattern (maybe by following the "Quote Request" tutorial).
    But the application link did not appear in BPM Workspace.
    Here i'm skipping any kind of mistakes as "oh, incorrect swimlane", "oh, i did not include the user to the app role" and so on.
    At first, you should know about the "feature" - You have to attach task form to the Initiator Human Task to see the App Link.
    The simplest way to do that is to AutoGenerate task form (and deploy it, of course).
    Else the Appication Link will not appear.
    One exception to this rule - If your Task HAS NO PAYLOAD (no parameters) the Task Form is not required (to appearing of the Application Link).
    The second find is a bug (is think so).
    If you edited the Role that Attached to the swimlane of Initiator Task, you will not see the Application Link.
    If you look to organization.xml you will see something like this:
            <ns1:applicationRole id="StartTask.InitRole" isProcessRole="true">
                <ns5:name>StartTask.InitRole1</ns5:name>
                <ns1:processRole id="InitRole" name="InitRole1"/>
            </ns1:applicationRole>
    The Application Link will appear ONLY IF THE "applicationRole id", "applicationRole name" and "processRole id" have the same value.
    When you edit name of the application role in Organization Editor you change "applicationRole name" and "processRole name" values.
    After that "applicationRole id" != "applicationRole name" and the Link does not appear.
    How to fix?
    Just edit organization.xml (with external editor) - change the "applicationRole name" to the value of "applicationRole id".
    That allows to have value of "processRole name" something like "The Initiator Role" - that value appears in the BPMN diagram of process.
    Also you can edit organization.xml with Organization Editor and set the Name to the value of "applicationRole id".
    In that case the associated swimlane will have the same name as the "applicationRole id".
    Hope this helps somebody

    Flash Player is a browser add-on, not an executable program.
    If you need to open a local SWF file you will need the standalone player (Projector) from http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
    Note that the download is the player, not an installer, so you will need to make the file association manually.

  • New task record not getting created in BPM workspace.

    Hi,
    We have a BPM Process which has 2 roles. SKURequester and SKUChangeAnalyst.
    When we initiate the flow , it opens up a screen and we populate data and click "SUBMIT".
    It goes to ChangeAnalyst for approval.
    It is working fine in Development Env.We could see a new task created for ChangeAnalyst once the requester SUBMIT's his task.
    But in Test env, Once the requester submit's his task .It's not creating a task row for ChangeAnalyst in BPM workspace.
    We verified the roles assigned to the user.Everything is same.
    Repeatedly seeing the following error in LOGS.

  • Process is not visible in BPM Workspace in Application panel 2

    Hi dear developers,
    I had a problem about BPM process. I was trying to implement this tutorial -> http://st-curriculum.oracle.com/obe/fmw/obpm/11g/r1/firstProcess/firstprocess_obpm11g.htm#t3
    And all the steps had been done. But the deployment step, i couldn't see my process on the BPM Workspace. I searched the other opinions in the forum. It's completely same with this thread -> Process is not visible in BPM Workspace in Application panel
    Nevertheless, couldn't find anything helpful. Could you help me please?
    Thanks in advance.
    Erdo

    Hi Erdo
    I hope you already ran the demo community seed app to create all the test users and groups etc in the default authenticator. If not, please see this below post:
    Re: New to BPM: How to get the tasks in the Workspace
    1. First login into bpm/workspace with domain adminstrator username/password. Then on right side, click on Adminstration link and see if you could see all the roles related to hello world app and also the users that you added to those roles.
    One other very basic thing is, you should and must deploy the TaskForms project that has all the taskdetails UI pages. I hope you did this while deploying the workflow and checking the check boxes to deploy other ui projects also.
    If seeding and getting demo uses is confusing, you can always use your own users. From weblogic console, create some extra users like weblogic1, weblogic2, weblogic3 etc with some password. Then use these users to assign to the roles from hello world app. Then login with these users. This will also work.
    Thanks

  • Process is not visible in BPM Workspace in Application panel

    Hi all,
    BPM/SOA Suite 11g
    DB Oracle 10gR2
    I have created and deployed successfully a BPM process following instructions at http://st-curriculum.oracle.com/obe/fmw/obpm/11g/r1/firstProcess/firstprocess_obpm11g.htm
    i have seeded the demo community with no issues. Process roles has been mapped as well but i am not able to see any process in the BPM Workspace. later i mapped the user to simple weblogic user instead of jcooper and re-deployed my process but still not able to see the results.
    tutorials said that
    Note: If the HelloWorldProcess v1.0 link does not appear in the Applications panel on the Tasks tab, click the Process Tracking tab. It should appear there. You can instantiate the process from that tab.but this also not worked for me
    any ideas what could be the issue? i have searched this forum but no successful solution EM doesnt allow to mapp roles in the security section in OracleBpmProcessRolesApp
    or
    do we can any other way to run and test the process ?
    Regards,
    Zeeshan Baig

    FYI i redeployed the process and assigned role to weblogic for testing  but same result

    The screen snapshots are very helpful, and the app roles with user assignment are clearly on the server. Can you add a screen snapshot that shows the BPMN model in jdev? Key thing to check is that the human task is an Initiator task type rather than just a simple user task. And that the task is in the correct swim-lane.
    Check User task is initiator you can see here http://i55.tinypic.com/2r20ghy.jpg

    Another snapshot that would help is of the SOA deployments in EM. This one is of the UI project deployed as an EAR:
    http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/310/bpmnem.jpg
    That would help to ensure that the composite is deployed correctly. From EM navigate to the SOA folder and then soa-infra->default. That will list the deployed composites and the default version.

  • Unable to see the application in BPM Workspace for Sales Quote tutorial

    I have created the Sales Quote tutorial steps and deployed the process. The Enter Quote Details user task is in the "SalesRep" role and I have assigned a user from WebLogic user store to "SalesRep" role in the BPM Organization artifact.
    In order to kick off the process, I logged-in to BPM workspace with the user I have assigned as "SalesRep" role but don't find the Sales Quote application under the "Applications" tab.
    I am using 11g PS4(11.1.1.5) and didn't seed the demo users, instead just created the user using WLS console.
    Any thoughts why the user is unable to see the application in BPM Workspace?
    Thanks,
    Satya

    Check two things:
    1. Login to Workspace as weblogic and click the Administration link at the top to verify the role is actually set to a user (just to double check this).
    2. Login to EM, click the SalesQuote composite, scroll down and click the EnterQuote human task component, and click the Administration tab.
    This shows you if there is a task form URI associated with this human task. If not, the initiate link won't show up in the Applications menu in Workspace.
    If not, you can either deploy again from JDeveloper, making sure you have selected the task forms in the deploy wizard and making sure the deployment is successful in the Deployments log window.
    Heidi.

  • Cannot find deployed BPM application in bpm workspace with BPM 11.1.1.7.0

    I created a bpm suite 11.1.1.7.0 servers with one admin server and one soa managed server. I deployed a BPMN application to it according to the "Building Your First Process with Oracle BPM 11g" tutorial (a little bit changes according to thread https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2355518). I deployed it successfully by jdeveloper. I can find the UI project and SOA composite in EM, and the human tasks have URI in administration tab. However, when I try to open the BPM worspace and try to find the application that are deployed, the list is empty and got ADFC error in manged server console. How can I fix this problem? In bpm suite 11.1.1.6.0, there is no such problem. Thanks

    Hi!,
    when that happend to me, I used to do the next steps:
    In EM, go to FARM_SOA...>SOA>SOA-INFRA>Default, right clic on your proyect and uninstall it
    Log in into your BPM workspace as your administrator> Administration, and erase all roles for that project and save.
    Install your project from jdeveloper again.
    Log in into your BPM workspace as your administrator> Administration, clic on your project.ProcesOwner Role, and add your user on the members below section
    After adding thee user, clic SAVE
    Do the same for all the roles of your project
    This worked for me, remember to clic the save button after adding a member for the role
    hope it helps!,
    regards.

  • Unable to see the deployed application in BPM Workspace

    Hi Every body,
    We have developed the Project using Jdeveloper and it has deployed successfully. After that I login in Workspace with assigned user, I could't find the deployed application.
    In Enterprise Manager I checked it shows it has deployed and I checked in in workspace login as a weblogic user and seen the assigned role,it has assigned currectly but I am unable to see the deployed application in BPM workspace. Can any body help on this.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
    Try this. Log into the Workspace using weblogic user. Go to the Administration option (up and right if I'm not wrong) and check if the roles that you create for the process has the users correctly assigned.

  • Can't see the deployed BPM application in BPM Workspace

    Hi Guys !
    I've created a BPM application, deployed it succesfully ( the message was 'deployment finished' ) and now I want to launch it.
    I can login in BPM workspace, but in my Inbox I don't see any active application.
    I read about adding 'weblogic' to BPMWorkspaceAdmin role.
    I don't have the BPMWorkspaceAdmin role.
    I added 'weblogic' to BPMWorkflowAdmin.
    What else to do ?
    Many thanks,
    Gabi

    Hello Gabi,
    I just figured out the solution to my problem. Actually, that doesn't seem to be related to PS6. A collegue told me that something similar also was an issue in previous jDeveloper releases. The problem is that jDev is not able to save the new name if you renamed the default process role "Role" to something else, eg. "Requester". The solution is to add a new role and just delete the default process role called "Role".
    To check this, go to the Organizsation preferences of your project in jDev (jDev > BPM Project Navigator > <YourProject> > Organization > Roles) and compare the process roles to the process roles of the deployed project in the BPM Workspace (in your browser, open <yourURL>:7001/bpm/workspace > Login as administrator (usually user "weblogic" + password "welcome1") > Administration on the upper right > Organization > Roles)
    You might find the role "<YourProject>.Role" there which you thought have renamed in jDev earlier.
    I hope this helps.

  • BPM Workspace User view related issue

    PROBLEM SUMMARY_
    Unable to see filtering options like SEARCH, ASSIGNEE and STATE in User View, I am able to see this in Generic Inbox of BPM workspace
    DETAILED DESCRIPTION_
    I am new to BPM & need some assistance on below scenario-
    TASKS INVOLVED-*
    My BPM process contains 2 tasks
    1.     Initiator task-[Part of Requester role in my JDev Swim lane]
    2.     User Task-To review the request-[Part of Reviewer role in my JDev Swim lane]
    SCENARIO-+
    Flow would be something like, requester enters details in request message & says submit. If request message length is less than 6 characters a review would be required & therefore process flow would go to reviewer task. Reviewer can Approve or Reject the request, if he approves the process will write the request message contents to a file, if the reviewer Rejects the request, requester task would be created again so as to ask requester to enter a message of length>6.
    If entered request message is having length greater than 6, no review would be required. It will be a direct file write.
    CHALLENGE-+
    The challenge is each of these tasks –Initiator task & Review task would be created with DIFFERENT task numbers in BPM workspace, which I do NOT want. I want the Requester tasks task number to be propagated to Reviewer task and I would want to populate this as task number (May be under different column, say Request Id) of Reviewer task as well.
    After reading Oracle BPM docs, I studied that this can achieved using Human tasks-Mapped variable concept.
    I used protected mapped variable/flex variable:*Request Id* in both the above tasks to achieve this.
    PROBLEM-*
    Problem is in BPM workspace’s user view, here we go-
    I created a user view:*HelloWorld* to display the task details, the columns I want are the default columns+Column for mapped attribute:*Request Id*.
    Now even though the Request Id column is populated as expected, I cannot filter the View entries based on Assignee, State or perform any kind of other searches.
    I understand that User views are built based basically on certain filters itself. But post the view creation if user has to make a search-say based on Mapped attribute:*Request Id* in this case, he won’t be able to do so.
    This defeats the entire purpose of Mapped attributes. Oracle document says (check the last bullet point)-
    +"Human workflow mapped attributes (formerly referred to as flex fields) store and query use case-specific custom attributes. These custom attributes typically come from the task payload values. Storing custom attributes in mapped attributes provides the following benefits:+
    +•     They can be displayed as a column in the task listing+
    +•     They can filter tasks in custom views and advanced searches+
    *+•     They can be used for a keyword-based search"+*
    So is this a bug with user views in workspace?
    One more thing that I would like to add-Reason behind using Custom user views is-
    1)     Generic Inbox of BPM Workspace does not give option to make the mapped attribute get displayed/Searched
    2)     I want to customize the Tasklist.

    Oh well...
    It seems there's a bug with the XE Database... Sometimes it freezes some components and the SOA Plataform goes crazy.
    Simple system reboot solved.

  • No Process under Applications tab in bpm/workspace

    Hi
    Hope you are doing fine.
    I have a peculiar problem - the same prj looks fine in one env and not in the other
    I've created a BPM workflow, with the first task as Initiator, assigned roles/swimlanes to users properly, made sure the users existed in the server. Also created the taskform/UI prj, and deployed both UI prj and BPM prj. Checked in EM too. But for some reason, I could not see the process when logged into bpm workspace.
    Irony here is that the same project, when I deployed it in my local server, I could see it, and the entire workflow is working fine.
    But when I deploy it to my dev servers, deployment is hapenning fine, I could see the deployments in EM, also the taskform is associated to the humantask (checked by clicking on the prj in EM --> click on humantask --> Administration tab).
    I'm not able to figure out why its not coming in one env and is coming in other.
    Is there any extra configuration to be done? Would someone please respond.
    Thanks in Advance
    Regards
    RaviKiran

    Hi All
    Just another comment on the same thing.
    From some other post, I've seen that webcenter being configured in the domain caused the problem. Not sure if that is correct. Does it have to do with this issue?
    https://kr.forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=1116370(last comment)
    Process is not visible in BPM Workspace in Application panel (last comment)
    https://kr.forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=2138159
    I guess the dev server I'm using has webcenter, but unfortunately, I dont have control over it.

  • How can attach a file in BPM Workspace

    Dear BPM Experts,
    I am using BPM 11.1.1.5.0, I have designed the BPM application with LDAP user and mapped with application role and also deployed successfully, now, I am able access the application in BPM workspace as initiator role. The issue is, I need to attach a file in initiator task. The following steps I have followed.,
    1. Once get login into workspace (http://localhost:8001/bpm/workspace)
    2. Click on project link in Application navigator (top of left hand side)
    3. The Initiator UI screen open, and filled data object field
    4. Click Plus sign (+) in Attachment field
    5. Select Desktop file in Add Attachment pop-up window
    6. Browsed local test file (text.txt) and click OK button
    7. Now I can able to see text.txt in attachment panel box.
    8. Finally SUBMIT the form
    9. If I try to see the attached file in My task page, the file is not available.
    Please any one help us for attachment scenarios. Is it need to do any other configurations for upload the file.
    Thanks,
    Bala

    I have not done these myself .. but see if suggestions here would help you -
