"Pln Assumpt" is associated with a smartlist . IN this BR is it possible to set "Pln Assumpt" to none or default smartlist value in BR............none doesnt have an ID ........& i tried using none , #Missing, 0...........

Some songs don't sync in one smartlist (possible BUG of itunes)

Hi,
I have one smartlist with 200 songs in itunes. After I sync with my iphone and the same smartlist have 190 songs inside the phone.
The files listen ok in itunes and in the iphone (in other lists).
Can be a bug of itunes? Is not the first time that this success me.
Please, help! I don't know what I can do!

I checked "Match only checked items" in smartlist and "Sync only checked songs and videos" in iphone menu. However the problem persist.
I discovered what is the problem. The problem arises when you use the "comment" tag in the SmartList. In other SmartList that do not use the "comment" tag this problem does not happen.
One way to fix this is to delete the album and then add it again to itunes:
1) delete the album that gives you problems with SmartList
2) sync iphone
3) add the album again.
4) sync iphone again.
5) Now the SmartList that uses the "comment" tag appear correctly on the smartlist in iphone.
And I insist that the SmartList in itunes always go well, it's just on the phone where don't work anytimes!
Incredible. I hope that apple will solve this bug. Besides, this does not happen with all the albums, only with some albums! So I have to watch each SmartList in iphone that the sync run well.
ahh what a horror! I have hundreds of lists!! I'll go crazy!

User wants to see textual data for smartlist in the reports

Hi,
We have a smartlist for employee status-Single,Married. But these are stored as numbers in essbase as 1 and 2. The user wants to see the status as married or single in financial reports. Connection to planning details will do or using any function in the report will do?

Unable to view SmartList in Planning webforms in 11.1.1.2

Hi Friends,
I am using Hyperion Planning 11.1.1.2 webforms. I am Unable to view SmartList in Planning webforms.
steps I have done:
1.Created a SmartList.
2.Added entries to Smartlist
3.Assigned the SmartList to a dimension Member(Account Member).
4.In the webform I am selecting the same account member as Column member.
5.One Members for Row.
6.Rest of all the dimension members are POV/PAGE.
When I open the form I am not able to see the smartlist for the account member. I am not able to select.
Also I see that there is no "Enable Smart List" option in EPM (11.1.1.2). I have seen the same in 9.2
Any Idea what needs to be set or changed?

Hi,
Have you set the evaluation order, Administration > Dimensions > Evaluation Order > Move the dimension that the smart list is against across to the right hand window.

Can't you have more than one Genre in a Smartlist?

I wanted to create a Smartlist entitled "Club Mix", which would take all my Dance genre and Disco genre, along with a few random songs that were neither genre, so I put "club" in the comment section of those songs.
My Smartlist was
Genre IS Dance
Genre IS Disco
Comment CONTAINS club
I get a message saying I have one or more "conflicts". Does that mean you can only use a category (i.e., genre) once in a Smartlist?

It sounds like you've told the Smart Playlist to Match all of the following rules.
Change it to Match any of the following rules.

How to create nesting in a smartlist

This is for adding a nested condition to a smartlist in iTunes 11
I have a smartlist that has nesting that looks like this:
Per the help section, it states:
To add another set of rules, hold down Option key & click the Nest button. (When you hold down the Option key, the Add button changes to the Nest button.)
When I do this, I can only create a new nest within the larger nest that you see on the screen. For example, I press Option Key, the Add button becomes a Nest button under Any>Plays>is less than>41. But, I want to creat a "larger" Any nesting that is not nested within the two larger nestings. Does that make sense? Any tips?

It is a bit clumsy, isn't it. In your case, I'd start again form the begining and get your nesting structure in place first, then fill in the details.

Smartlists not showing up in Planning - Version 11

I have an EPMA application.I created a smartlist "Bonus_Month" with all possible values of month.I associated this smartlist with an account member.The member type is set to smartlist and I specified the smartlist "Bonus_Month" with this member.I deployed the application successfully but for some reason if I log into planning and the view the member properties I am not seeing the assoiated Smartlist (Bonus_Month) even though the data type I see is smartlist.

Make sure that you have the data type evaluation order set for the account dimension, otherwise the smartlist values wont appear in the web forms. To do this, right click on the application in the dimension library and select "data type evaluation order".

How can I use AND's with OR's in the smartlists?

SO what is the trick in combining OR's and AND's within a smartlist? like
"(hip/hop OR Rap) AND (My Rating over 3 stars)"

Right, this makes it an OR. So with two rules:
1. genre equals hip hop
2. genre equals rap
and I pick the ANY, then my list will be a combo of both (and yeah statistically speaking could be all of 1 or 2)
HOWEVER, the next part is where I am stuck - How do I make sure the selections from 1 or 2 are ALL 3 stars or better in rating??
So with three rules:
1. genre equals hip hop
2. genre equals rap
3. Rating at least 3 stars
Now with using ANY (aka OR) I could get a 4 star heavy metal song in my list - right? because the above is not the same as
(1 or 2) and 3 <<-- which is what I really want to do.
Any ideas how to do that? somewhere a while back I saw a thread talking about some trick that would do that, but I cant find it again. I am not even sure I read it on this site. But anyway - any one know how to make a smartlist to do
(1 or 2) and 3

Lost library and playlistgs/smartlists after upgrade

I just downloaded the latest itunes and have lost about one third of my library and all play lists and smart lists. poof! I have searched the hard drive and all of the music is there in the music folder (including that which was not included in the library after the upgrade - why wasn't it all put back in?). So my questions are: (1) Is there any way to retrieve the smartlists and play lists? (2) How do I get all of my music from the music folders into the library?

I'm having the same problem on iphone4. All my contents on my iphone 4 are lost after I upgraded it to ios 5.1.1. That is includding my contacts too.
Every time I connected my iphone4 back to Itunes. It showed a pop-up menu said " Itunes was interrupted while restoring the contents of the iphone, would you like to restore this iphone again now?" but when I clicked "continue restore" button. It showed another pop-up menu said "an error occurred while restoring this iphone(-50)." Please see the pictures at below.
I think all the backup contents are still there. I have googled about this problem. I found many people has suffered this, but I couldn't find any solution.
Please help! Those contents are so important to everyone of us, especially the phone contacts. Thanks!

Itunes 10.4 - Smartlist & interlacing critierias

Hi,
I miss the 3rd button (the one with dots :-) in the smartlist window for interlacing the different criterias after installing Lion and iTunes 10.4????
I installed iTunes 10.4 64-bit on a pc with windows 7 and it doesn't creates the same bug(?).
Has anyone the same problem? Is it a bug or just a reduced feature in the new version?

I read something about this isue but couldn't imagine and (as a former windows user :-) didn't know where and what the option key is (sorry).

Smartlists in Data Forms

I have created a Smartlist and associated it with a value in the account dimension. After adding this account value to a Data Form, I expect to see a drop down box with the members of the Smartlist. I do not get a drop down box. Am I missing a form setting that would allow the smartlist to display? Thanks in advance for any help.

I have a similar issue. In Planning 9.3.1 a composite data form has text, Smart Lists and data members. Period has text members in an alt hierarchy, and Smart Lists in the Account dim. If I set the eval order to Period then Account, there is text, SmartList but no data. If I put the order in Account then Period, I get no text, Smart Lists, but no data. If I put Period alone in eval order, I get text, no Smart List and but I get data - this is the only configuration that I get data. If I put Account alone I get no text, Smart Lists are there but no data. There are no real winners. Any thoughts?

What is the best practice to "Disable Smartlists"

What is the best way to "disable" smarlists.
For example: i have company A, company B, and Company C as the vendors.
Vendor (account) (smartlist) --- i can choose A, B, or C
However: i don't want users to choose vendor C because they are not our vendors anymore. I don't want deleted it because i have previous projects that used vendor C. what is teh best approach for this?

Can't you just delete that entry (for the vendor C) from the smartlist?
If I understand correctly, Planning stores the entry value to essbase for current member combination. So it does not delete any previously stored data.

Mapping SmartLists to an ASO Reporting App - Synchronization Difficulties

For those who have never done this before, I particiularly recommend John Goodwin's blog.

So, in this particular regard, I'm trying to map Smart Lists to dimensions I created in the ASO application in Essbase.
In our planning application, we have 12 dimensions. In our ASO application, we have 15. (3 additions based on the smartlists)
The naming and matching of smartlists and corresponding ASO dimensions are 100% accurate. The mapping settings are no different. I have even attempted to map the smartlists while excluding additional dimensions from the ASO application by isolating them in the Point of View.. It worked. When I attempt to map the smartlists to the ASO dimensions however, the synchronization suggests that there is a duplication or conflict of data.
I'm going to try and further address this problem by matching the ASO dimension Member with the SmartList Entry ID's, although I personally doubt that this is the problem. Any further clarification on this topic is highly appreciated.

When mapping a Smartlist to a dimension the MRA functionality in Planning will attempt to use the SmartList Label to map to a member Alias or member Name in your ASO cube. If you're smartlist label CAN'T BE matched to a member Alias or member Name in your ASO cube, the mapping will fail.
If your're smartlist value is #MISSING, you can provide a default "Smart List label" to use to map to a "default" member name in your ASO cube.
If your're smartlist label for some reason,does need to be different from a "real" member name or Alias, then you will need to maintain a "mapping smartlist" who's label does match a "real" member name or Alias in your ASO cube. This "mapping smartlist" must have the same smartlist item value as your real smartlist and you'll need a member formula for the "mapping smartlist" that does the following: "Mapping Smartlist" = "Real SmartList".

Smartlist field 'nickname' in address book

Does anybody know how to add the 'nickname' field to the smartlists in address book:
contains cards wich match the following:
'nickname ' ....for example 'is set'.

Smartlist "Classical Music" re-creates itself?

I have deleted several times the Classical Music smartlist: after a while, it just reappears...not a big deal, but anyone knows why it would do that? I delete it, I work on something else within itunes, and suddenly the Classical Music smartlist reappears, and the focus is on the content of that list.

Smartlists not so smart?

Hello community. I am trying to utilize smartlists to do some pretty detailed sorting of my music. The kind of sorting I am interested in doing seems to be something that iTunes is made to do in the smartlists, but for some reason is not happening.
I double checked that I have the music types required to have at least a few results pop-up, but nothing is coming up at all.

Any insight you may be able to provide in order to crack this problem that I have seen since version 4 would be phenomenal.

Clearly, you're wanting it to get both House and Trance music, however you have it set to get music that contains both House AND Trance in the Genre.
The real problem here is that I think there's no way to do what you want with a single playlist.
Conceptually, a smart playlist contains either OR rules or AND rules, but not both at the same time. That is, you can do:
A=B AND C=D AND D=E
but not:
(A=B OR A=C) AND D=E
The solution is to make two smart playlists. The first one will be:
Match ANY
Genre contains House
Genre contains Trance
The second one will be:
Match ALL
Playlist is (your house/trance list above)
BPM is in the range 130-140
My Rating is in the range * to ***
This will do what you want.
