Branching view window?

New project I'm working has quite a bit of branching, more so than I've normally had opportunity to employ.
When working with the branching view window I noticed it 1) doesn't show all the slides in each branch and 2) doesn't seem to recognize navigation buttons on the slide but rather builds the branching based on the "on slide exit" option.
Some of my branches can be long, based on the choices the learner makes. Is the truncated view in the branching window normal or am I missing something?
On the navigation, one example.. I have slide 1 with choices to one slide each. From those slides they return back to slide 1. In branching view it shows:
--Choice A-|
Slide 1 --|----------------Choice B
--Choice C
Sorry I can't upload a screen cap, i hope that's clear. Slide 1 points to Choice A/B/C. Choice A has a line to Choice B. The 'on slide exit' for all 3 is 'go to next slide' although the buttons I'm using on each slide disallow that from ever happening. This doesn't seem to happen on every slide with this type of navigation, only a few. Any ideas?

What I'm seeing in the branching view is not representative of what the slide navigation actually does. What I'm seeing in branching, and my crude drawing above is that the slide for Choice A has navigation leading it to slide Choice B.
The navigation and buttons for Choice A never leads it to Choice B, so it's unclear to me what the Branching View window is really showing me. That is.. if it's inaccurate here, can I trust it to be accurate everywhere or do I need to view each slide to ensure the navigation works as I intend...
It's more work to check each slide of course. It'd be faster workflow if Branching View showed a true interpretation of the project flow.
Good to know about the 800x600. That does seem to be a silly limitation. And thanks for the link, I'll view it more closely when I have a few minutes of brain bandwidth.
Any ideas why it wouldn't show all the slides in a particular branch?

Weird artefacts in view window & QT
Hi all,
I'm wondering if anyone can shed some light on this, or have experienced it. Since upgrading to Leopard, Final Cut occasionally displays some crazy artefacts in the viewer window, usually when pressing 'f' for match frame. I've also noticed it a couple of times when exporting from QT, the window displays nonsense. I've posted a link to a screen shot:

In Mail, I can not open a viewer window
I just had my hard drive replaced on my 27 inch imac. It came back with a new operating system (OSX10.7.5) Along with that it had several software updates. One of which was Mail. It is now at version 5.3. When I went to open it, it asked to transfer over all the old to the new. So it did but once that was over it never opened a viewer window. I then went to FILE to "Open viewer window". That didn't work either. I right clicked on the Mail icon in my dock and it said it wasn't responding so I had to force quit. Same results happen everytime I open MAIL. Please help.
With Mail open press Command + Option + Esc to force quit the Mail app.
Then restart your Mac and try Mail. -
Mail does not show the viewer window even when new viewer window is cliced. I tried to close mail and reopen, but it will not close, and force quit option does not appear in window bar. I tried to shut down the computer and reboot, but it cannot close because of open mail program it says. Help!

Mail not loading a Viewer Window by default.
My question is how do I set Mail so that it does open the viewer window by default? I am running Mail 8.0 on a 2014 iMac running Yosemite.
I have tried to locate .plist files (although that is close to the edge of my expertise) and there is no "Mail" folder in Hard Drive/Library

Mail Viewer Window Does Not Open on Launch. Mail Will Not Quit. MAIL BADGER
<UPDATE> After detailing all of the problems below, I discovered that trashing the Mail Badger bundle solved all of the below problems. I am still posting this just in case anybody else has this problem.
Problems:
1. When opening mail.app, the program opens, but it does not launch a Viewer Window. I can open a viewer window manually from the File menu, however.
2. When quitting mail.app, it will not quit. It does not matter whether I hit command-Q, or Mail>Quit Mail, or right-click on dock icon and click Quit. The only way for me to quit is Force Quit. No matter what Quit command I execute, nothing happens. The Viewer Window does not close. (The Viewer Window will close on command, however, either by clicking the red 'x' or by command-W, or by File>Close.
3. Cannot send mail from mail.app. Upon clicking "send" on a new email, it just goes to the Outbox and sits there forever. I can try sending the email again from the Outbox, but nothing happens. (I have 4 gmail accounts, with a couple thousand messages between them. There are no problems with port configurations or smtp servers or anything like that - I am fairly certain anyway because nothing has changed w/ regard to the account settings between the time it was working and the time it stopped working.)
4. After minimizing the Viewer Window, clicking on the mail.app dock icon does not restore the Viewer Window. The only way to restore the Viewer Window is to click on the Viewer window itself in the dock, rather than clicking on the application icon.
Notes: I have installed 10.4.10. I have also installed Safari Beta 3.0.2
I previously installed Safari Beta 3.0, then uninstalled it and upgraded to 3.0.2. I don't recall when the problems started, (under 3.0 or 3.0.2), but they all happened at the same time (rather than one at a time).
I have uninstalled Safari 3 and reverted to Safari 2, but this does not fix the problems.
I have repaired disk permissions.
I have booted from the OS X Install disk and repaired my startup disk.
I have not had any problems with Safari 3 "hanging" on install, thus corrupting the WebKit, as described in other threads.I had the same issue and resolution. Spotlight search for "Mail Badger" and deleting everything resolves the issue.
I'm also running Safari 3.0.2 and 10.4.10...
I've emailed the developer to let him know about it..

I just upgrade to 10.8.5 (from snow leopard on an '08 iMac 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 GB memory) and I have a problem with Mail
While during migration there was no problem and it looks like all my massages was transferred (more than 17.000 mails) when I open Mail there is no "Message Viewer" window and if I try to open it from menu "Window" I have the message "Mail quit unexpectedly" (I have report it to Apple).
So I can not see my mails!!
Otherwise everything looks "OK" with Mail. I can see all my accounts in Preferences, I can see other windows like Activity, I can even see the red indicator with he new mails on the Mail icon on the Dock… But I can not quit Mail, only Force quit…

Main view window locked on 'one pic at a time'???
My main view window ... somehow I locked it into displaying only one-pic-at-a-time. Can't seem to get back to the library mode, or whatever it might be called, when I can see all the pics in the folder at the same time. I can't for the life of me figure out how to change the view mode. And the scaling control, bottom right, has disappeared (or I've somehow disappeared it).
Any help would be most appreciated...

New Pages no longer allows SECTIONS (in thumbnail view window) to be re-arranged like before? You could drag and drop sections within your document the same way you could drag and drop pages in Preview's PDF documents. So how do you re-arrnage your document now?

You used to be able to duplicate/copy a section/page by draging it with OPTION-LEFT-CLICK to a space below or above in the thumbnial window. The same way it works in PREVIEW in a PDF document. Did I miss something or is this also a bug?!

Archive/trash Pages 5 and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

Why can't I create a response to an email from the Viewer window?
When I select an email to respond to in the viewer window and click on the respond arrow that appears just under the header, a new response email opens for a split second then disappears.
I have to actually click on and open the email message in its own screen to be able to then click on the respond arrow and succeed in having Mail open a response email that I can edit - one that remains open.
This seems to be a bug that we need to have squashed.
SteveDo I have to connect the iPad to a computer to make this work? Is the fact that I used another email address to set up my Apple ID years ago causing the problem? A friend of mine just got a new iPod and he was able to set up a me.com account. I am feeling rather stupid. Hope someone here can help.

Why are iTunes, View, Window, and Help menu items disabled?
I am frequently encountering an issue in iTunes 10.5 (141) where all the menu items in the iTunes, View, Window, and Help menus are disabled (greyed out). Why is this happening and can it be stopped?
I've seen this issue on different Mac OS X 10.7.2 machines. It seems to occur during playlist manipulation, where I'm making new playlists, adding items to them and editing them and the items. In the worst cases, I'm forced to quit and restart iTunes, although I have to quit by using the context menu option in the Dock as the Quit option is disabled in the application.
I'd appreciate any advice on workarounds for this that don't involve quitting and restarting iTunes.I'm also having the same issue. It was happening with 10.5.1 and now still with 10.5.2. I'm using a 2008 iMac running 10.6.8. I do not use iTunes Match. This seems to happen for no apparent reason i/o/w, I can't determine a pattern as to when it happens, but it occurs about once in every 10 times that iTunes is open and it seems to happen after it's been open for a while, but again, no particular pattern.
Sometimes, all the menu items are grayed out, and other times, 70% of the menu items are grayed out. I can still use the other functionality in iTunes, but must must Quit from the dock (it quits gracefully and no Force Quit is necessary). Relaunching restores eveything to normal for about a week.
I work with technical diagnostic issues and can usually pinpoint a problem, isolate an issue, or determine a pattern, but this one has me stumped. I thought 10.5.2 might fix it, but no. Maybe 10.5.3? -

BO XI R2 - "Blank "Crystal Reports Viewer" window - attempt to print report
My company recently set up a Business Object Enterprise XI Release 2 server. On the server are a number of crystal reports that are run interactively by users, through the user console. The expectation is that the user will log on to the BI server, click on the report title, enter the parameters, see a preview of the report in the Crystal Report Viewer, then click the print icon on the Crystal Report Viewer toolbar.
Our corporate standard is current Windows XP SP3, with Internet Explorer 8; By default, users are set up to use the DHTML report viewer. The reports were developed with the Crystal Reports XI R2 report designer, and connect to an Oracle 10g database through Oracle client.
When users attempt to view, then print the reports, the user is able to select the report, enter the parameters, view the report data, and even page through the report preview with no issues. However, when the user attempts to print the report by clicking the print icon on the Crystal Reports Viewer toolbar, a blank "Crystal Reports Viewer" window pops up and remains indefinitely.
The really puzzling thing about this issue is that for about 1/3 of our users, printing will work - a print dialog will appear, allowing the user to select a printer, and when the user clicks OK, the report will print. For the other 2/3 of our users, the blank "Crystal Reports Viewer" window pops up.
I have added the BO XI R2 server's address to trusted sites, adopted the lowest security settings for trusted sites, and enabled all activity I could think of in IE security settings (ActiveX controls-related). I also ran the web site in compatibilitiy mode.
Has anyone on this forum experienced this issue, and does anyone here know how to resolve it?

Bob GardnerI suspect that this behavior occurs because the client computer is unable to download ActiveX controls.
The report viewer requires the PrintControl.dll to print reports from the client computer. The PrintControl.dll downloads automatically if it has not been previously downloaded on to the client computer, provided that the user that is currently logged on is able to download ActiveX controls.
To enable the download of ActiveX controls on the client computer, perform the following steps:
1) Open your Internet Explorer.
2) From the Tools menu, select Internet Options.
3) In the Security tab, select the web content zone that corresponds to your web application.
4) Click Custom Level.
5) In the Security Settings dialog box, scroll down to find the ActiveX controls and plug-ins section.
6) Select Enable or Prompt for the Download signed ActiveX controls item.
7) The print dialog box will now appear successfully when clicking the print button in the report viewer.
If the above does not help, try to troubleshoot this as follows:
1) click the print button (this will cause a postback to the web page) and then cancel the print dialog. right-click in the web page and select "View Source".
2) Search for the word "printcontrol.cab". This will show you where the application is trying to download the printcontrol from.
Paste the URL into a browser.
3) If you get prompted to "open or save to disk" the url is correct and there is a browser setting or possibly even a system policy preventing the download.
4) If you get a "404 page not found" or a similar error message, investigate the URL.
5) If the issue is on your local web server, see if it is possible to browse to the URL in IIS manager.

I believe what you want to do is possible, but it will not be
easy. If you want to add a scroll bar that will scroll the graph
back and forth but keep the axis set, you would want to add a
horizontal or vertical scrollbar. Then you would create an event
handler for the scroll event. You would have to manually plot
different data within this scroll event. Unfortunately, there is
not really a built in way to do this with the Measurement Studio plot
control.
