Break Report into sections

Hi, I have a data model with different groups. I want to be able to place the groups side by side. When I place the table side by side and preview it shows one at the top abd one below. An example of what I want is beow
Group1 Group2
1 2 4 5 qqq ddd vvv bbb
ccc bbb mmm kkk
zzz vvv bbb aaa
The preview instead shows group2 under group1.
Can you tell me if this is possible. Group1 can grow independent of group2 and vice versa.

Sure you can - create an outer table, size the columns appropriately, and hide the borders.
Put each of groups in their own table inside a cell of the outer table in the appropriate column.

I have a report in which there are 4 sections north south west east now i need to save north in excel sheet 1 , south in sheet2, west in sheet3, and east in sheet4. under each section there is list report.

If you're running XI 3.1 you might be able to solve this as follows.
1. Create four users: east, west, north, south
2. Create a profile that filters on the variable you used for the section/break
3. Publish the report
3.1 Set users created above to be the enterprise recipients
3.2 Add personalization (the profile created above)
3.3 Check the Deliver objects to each user in Destinations
(3.4 You could use %SI_OWNER% to get a nice suffix to the report name)
This should cause four reports to be created, each with its own "personalized" contents.

Breaking SSHR SIT into sections

Hi, I have a special information type which I have deployed to Self Service (SSHR). The thing is, I want to divide some of the fields into sections with headers even though I am using just one S.I.T to save the data.
For example say I have an SIT that contains name, age, job, position, location. I might want to group name and age into Personal Details with a header, then job, position and location into another section called Assignment Details. Something like that.
Is it possible to create sections with headers using personalization when the self service page is based on an S.I.T

All page breaks are converted into section breaks

Hi,
In my template in ms word 2007 I have page breaks and section breaks. When I generate the output what I see is that all the page breaks are automatically converted into section breaks. Is this a bug ? Or is there a way to solve it.?

Hi elic elico,
Are your page breaks created by inserting multiple returns? If so, then the script will certainly remove them. You can "fix" this by deleting the relevant line from the text file. In general, however, it's better to control page breaks by other means.

I have a requirement where i pull my report in one excel with multiple sheets,
1.I have a Emp_Report where i could subscribe my report into excel format,but here i want to subscribe this into multiple sheets in one excel form.
2.Is it possible to subscribe the two reports in one excel with mulitiple sheets.i need this also.
please guide me hw we can achive me ,so that i can start working on that .
am using sql server 2008R2 sql server edition.

According to your description, you want to perform subscription for one report or two reports into multiple sheets within a Excel file.
In Reporting Services, when we add a page break within the report, those pages will be exported into separated sheets in Excel.
For first requirement, subscribe one report into multiple sheets in one Excel file. We can add a page break within a group, then the report will display on multiple sheets when subscribe into Excel format.
For second requirement, subscribe one report into multiple sheets in one Excel file. You can add one report as a subreport into the main report, then add pagebreak between main report and subreport.

Formatting problem in download report into EXCEL Sheet

I have requirement that the Column in the report have values as 1.50,1.5,3.50,when i'm downloading the report into Excel sheet,The values are rounded and appearing as 1.5,1.5,3.5.
Can anyone please let me know how to resolve this requirement

1) Excel will not take zero's after decimal(1.50) it will roundup(1.5) the values.
2) you can do like in formula section use CAST(column_name as CHAR) and download it to excel then u will get the zero i think...i didn't tried
or Column properties--->Data format --> Select Number--->use 1000's Seperator for 1 decimal and save the report and download it
but it should work!

How do I break up a Section? (in Pages)

I have a Section that Pages has created as I have built a up a document (not quite sure why it's done this, but that's one of the mysteries of Pages).
As I've been moving individual pages around within the Section, it's been adding extra pages within the section.
In theory, I should be able to delete these by clearing them of content, but what happens in practice is that as I delete the last bit of content from such a page it deletes the whole Section. (Which I then have to recover by using Undo).
I think the best way to deal with this is to break up the whole Section into individual pages, but netiehr Help, nor Apple, nor the iWork '09 book has any suggestions on how best to do this.
Any clues?

Still need to break movies into 20 min / 100 cuts before sending to Color?

Wondering if anyone knows if Apple have addressed the issue of having to break long timelines into sections of 20 minutes or so before sending to Color.

IME, it's not the length of the sequence but the number of cuts in the sequence.
If after importing my sequence into Color I look under the Shots tab and it shows more than 800 shots - I'll start breaking up the show.

Break Total and Section Totals

Hi,
I have a webi report which consist of s section and a break. The report also does a sub total by break and then section. At last we also show grand total.
The report has section of fleet center.
The report has break on driver name.
The report is in drill mode and has drop downs on fleet name and driver name.
From the drop down menu when I select a particular driver to view information-- the webi shows :
Totals by that driver ( there is a break on this field)
Totals by that fleet ( there is a section on this field)
and Grand total :
Since I have selected a single driver information to view ---all the three totals comes out to be same .
The requirement is to hide the other two totals when we select a particular driver information from the drop down so that we only show the driver level totals. I am looking out for a way to hide section and grand totals when we select a particular driver .

Thank you for your response. I tried with the property when section is empty checkbox. In my case I still have a section value. My section is not empty. Its just that when I select only a particular driver the totaling information is repeated twice once at the break level, section level and grand total.
I am looking at ways to hide the section total and grand total when we select a particular drive from the drop down so that the redundant information is avoided at section and grand total level.
Let me know if there is a way out on this.

Download of a report into the PDF is not giving me all the Columns

Hi all,
I have a report in BI publisher with 10 columns .But when i try to download that report into PDF FORMAT, then i am able to see only 3 columns in a single page but i can see the remaining columsn in next page .
ACTUAL REPORT :

How to copy existing query report into new query report in SQ00

I want to add fields "company code" "'region" to existing query report AQZZ/SAPQUERY/FKF1============
(list of vendor address) for this i done as following:
1.In SQ01 go to "EDIT->other user group" and i selected user group as /SAPQUERY/FK
2.I typed F1 in query field and click change button
3.I clicked next screen button and entered into "change query f1: select fields screen".here i clicked "basic list" button and searched company code checkbox and saved it as result company code is appearing in the standard report"AQZZ/SAPQUERY/FKF1============"
but unfortunately there is no region field(LFA1-REGIO) for this i think i should copy the existing query report into new query report(Ex:Z_LIST_OF_VEND) which should be 14 characters.please tell me briefly how to do this because this is first time i am using SQ00.
one more issue is when i selected "edit-otheruser group" and choosing /SAPQUERY/FK i am getting only infoset "/SAPQUERY/FIKD" but i should need Info set: "/SAPQUERY/FIDD" please tell me how to add the previous one into user group.i think if i got /SAPQUERY/FIDD into usergroup /SAPQUERY/FK i can add region also into Query report as i mentioned above by going SQ01 ...............................
please help regarding this which should be very beneficiary to my carrier.

Simple way is to you use Cristal Reports Designer: you can use CR Report convertion function.
File/Export/Export Report... choose Word Document (rtf) modificable what can be opened with Word and saved how Word Document (.doc).
Other way:

Get report into PDF - with header logo

I want to batch generate Discoverer reports into PDF files, with the company logo in the header.
So, for batch generation - the easiest thing is to write a script which calls Desktop. Ok, no problem.
Oh, sorry, you can't export to PDF using desktop. Grrr. So okay, I use a utility named Neevia to take the html export from Desktop and covert that to PDF.
Oh, so sorry! Export to html from Desktop does not output the logo!
This is on version 10.1 (not that things sound improved more recently).
I'm tempted to try using a print to pdf print driver, but I need to run hundreds of reports... typically those print drivers (PrimoPDF for example) will pop up and ask for the file name to be specified. I don't see a way to have the batch script answer that prompt with a unique name for each report.
Ideas folks? It all seems like a Catch-22 to try to get PDF + Logo + Batch generation. Pick 1.

We use print to PDF print driver to generate PDF. You can set the default directory so that the PDF driver does not prompt for the filename. The filename defaults to the same name as the .DIS file. We use Adobe Professional for this but I am sure you can do the same with other print drivers. What is a pain, and I really wish Oracle would fix this, is that you cannot print from a workbook stored in the database so all the workbooks have to be stored locally. Using a VBScript we can generate dozens of PDF reports overnight without any problems.

How do I split a large wall graphic on Illustrator into sections for printing?

I work in marketing and occasionally have to put together graphics on Illustrator.
I am currently putting together a large wall graphic for an exhibition and want to find out how to split it into sections for printing. It has a total length of 5757mm but will need to be split into 6 panels (4x 980mm, 1x 841mm & 1x 996mm)
It would be best for me to design this as one large graphic and then split it, however I'm not sure of the best way to do this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There is just room enough for the whole artwork in 1:1 within the Workspace.
You may create it as one entity, then create Artboards for each panel, but the exact way depends on a few things such as whether you are working with overlaps and whether the printer prints to the edge or has a non printing area.
You may need two sets of the artwork with every second artboard on each so that you end up with overlapping artboards for printing/assembly.
