Breaking a Program Execution into Multiple Threads
Hi,
We want to run a BAPI with Differenet parameters synchronoulsy in the same program as the BAPI is taking a very lon time for execution.
We are Planning to break up the execution and the call o the BAPI into multiple threads that can run synchronously. How can this concept implemented in SAP ABAP.
Thanks in advance.
Arunava
I am using parallel processing in my current client. Basis define a dialog processes group that we can use. This way our program will be limited to the number of processing give in the group. For example, our production system has 5 servers and each servers has 15 dialog processes. Basis reserve in the group 5 dialog processes for each group. So when we run our program, we are limited to 25 processes. We use function module SPT_INITIALIZE to find out the number of dialog processes and free processes for our group.
The logic of the program as follow:
Do loop
Call function module with starting new task and destination in group performing end of task subroutine
Enddo
Wait until all task completed (check help on wait-you need to keep track of the number of record completed)
In end of task subroutine, use command receive results from function to get the return parameters.
Hope this helps.
Cheers

"Save as PDF" breaks up the document into multiple PDFs
Ever since my Lion install, when I open a doc in MSWord and try to "Save as PDF", it breaks up the document into multiple PDFs, not one saved PDF. Haven't seen this problem before. Anyone else experiencing this new "feature"?
What version of Word? It's working fine with my Word 2011 on Lion. (version 14.1.2. Applied SP1 and the .2 update.)
A workaround would be to print, then select the PDF dropdown in the lower corner of the print window.
Otherwise, you'll probably want to ask in the Microsoft forums, as Save As is using Word's programming code, not OSX's code like it does with the print function. -
8500 adf scan Breaking a single page into multiple pages
I have a 8500A Premium. Lately when I am scanning multiple sheets via the ADF, the scan will take each sheet and break it into multiple sheets on the scan. i.e., if I am scanning 5 sheets, I may end up with 20 partial sheets in my scan.
Hello there @coolhandluke2 ,
I read about the unusual scanning issue you are facing when you scan with your Officejet 8500A. I would suggest trying a multiple copy for starters to see the copies will also show irregularities.
If the copies work fine, the issue is most likely within the software.
Here are some steps to try!
Power reset:
Press the Power button to turn on the product.
With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
Uninstalling the Printer Software, restarting the computer and reinstall the printer HP Officejet Pro 8500A Premium e-All-in-One Printer - A910n Drivers
Let me know the results, good luck!

Why is iMessage splitting group conversations into multiple threads after upgrading to iOS 8?
After upgrading to iOS 8 my group messages keep getting split up into different threads. Everybody in the threads have iPhones and before upgrading they were all working and sending/receiving iMessages just fine.
Now I'll have 2-3 threads with the same contacts (using their same phone numbers, not another contact point like iCloud email, Apple ID, etc.). My phone sometimes recognizes that the group is the same because it will automatically name the group the same thing, but other times it just puts the names of the people in the "To" line. In addition, some of the threads won't let me send iMessage so I have to reply in one thread and receive messages in the other (I send iMessages in thread A but the replies from the same people come back in thread B, but if I try and reply in thread B I can only send text messages even though all contact info is the same).
Update after OS X Yosemite: After upgrading to Yosemite, my Messages app on my MacBook Pro is now splitting the threads as well. It used to be that the computer understood the contacts were the same so all messages should be under one thread and just my phone was having this issue, but the upgrade changed that.
I have tried signing in and out of iMessage, upgrading to the latest iOS, turning on and off my phone, starting new groups, only replying to certain groups, etc. but nothing has worked.
Thanks!Im having the same problem. This started with iOS 8 and Yosemite. Im in a group message with 10 people with and without iPhones. Currently have 9 threads and when ever a new person responds a new thread forms. they all have the same people but in a different order, that may be part of the reason why iMessage doesn't recognize them as the same conversation.
As I'm writing this post 3 new threads opened and other people with and without iPhones are mentioning the same problem
hope apple can fix this. VERY annoying -
How to break up a String into multiple array Strings?
How do I break up a string into a bunch of String arrays after the line ends.
For example,
JTextArea area = new JTextArea();
this is a string that i have entered in the area declared above
now here is another sting that is in the same string/text area
this is all being placed in one text field
Sting input = area.getText();
now how do I break that up into an array of strings after each line ends?Ok I tested it out and it works.
So for future refrence to those that come by the same problem I had:
To split up a string when using a textfield or textarea so that you can store seperate sections of the string based on sperate lines, using the following code:
String text = area.getText() ;
String[] lines = text.split("\n") ;
This will store the following
this is all one
entered string
into two arrays

Really need advice on it.Without formatting using [ PRE ] and [ /PRE ] tags it is nearly impossible to read much less provide help.
But what is it you hope to accomplish by breaking it up into smaller views?
Improvements in ease of maintenance will likely be offset by poorer performance. -
Breaking up single Region into Multiple Regions
Hi,
I've a single region (a form) on a page and it has 30 fields and it does not look that great.
So just from the UI perspective, I want to break up this 1 large region into smaller 3 regions. Is it possible?
All the data comes from and goes into one table, so I want to change the UI and not the backend.
Thanks for the help.
-HozyWell think about it - why can't you do this? There isn't a reason :-) There isn't anything particularly special about the form region in and of itself - the create form region wizard just a handy way to auto-generate your CRUD processes and buttons.
Keep your original form region and create your additional regions as HTML regions (i.e. blank regions). When you redistribute your page items, they are still linked together, so to speak. You can still use the 'create' buttons etc from the original region (in fact, you can also move the controls around too if you like).
As for the stop/start page item, all it really does is close off the html table and opens up a new one below - the effect of which is that any page items below are laid out without reference to the structure above it. I find it particularly useful if you have, say, a wide text area item or another item with a big label and then have maybe two or three smaller page items underneath - in normal circumstances, the little items would end up being horribly spread across the page, whereas with the stop/start item, they are laid out more effectively.
Why not have a go at using the 'Drag and Drop' function - it becomes more clearer that way. Don't be afraid to experiment! -
Breaking up one project into multiple projects
I have a question that I hope can be answered (Using Captivate 5.5).
I have a seemingly large project now (433 slides with no quizzes added at this point) that is broken down as follows:
There are 9 chapters. The first is a quick "how to" which has a menu that links to the 8 chapters. All the chapters are accessed by the "jump to page" link with buttons i created at the top, a home button that links back to the main menu buttons, and each chapter contains 4 sub-chapters.
When this whole deal started, I was told it would just be a run through start to finish in one day with a quiz at the end, but now I am told they like the individual chapters so much that they want chapters with their own quiz and summary and they want it to be able to be "bookmarked" so that they can work at it in half hour sections over the course of a few days.
The down side is I'm pretty much done the whole thing as one project file. I have looked into how to break it up, or how to just have various quizzes (more importantly quiz summary for each chapter that stops the user from proceeding to the next chapter until complete) within one project but its clear that I need to break it up and have 9 .exe files (.exe being the requested format) in the end all linked to one another. The problem I have is that I have no idea how to go about this.
Anyone with any ideas for me? Please?
Thank you once again!Thanks Anjaneai,
This was pretty much much idea as well and I think it makes the most sense.
There is really only one page in each module that links back to the main page so it shouldn't take too long to implement.
The only question I have is with something like this where I will essentially have a breakdown of one "main" exe that links to the 8 other chapters, how do I go about saving these? Is there something that I need to do (ie file structure or a certain click box during the export)? Do I just export/publish each of them as their own exe and Captivate is smart enough to recognize this?
Right now what my vision is of this is that I would publish all 9 exe's into one directory where the main exe is in the root and the other exe's are in their own directories so that when the file is sent, unzipped, it will only show the one exe to click on so it isn't confusing to the end users. -
Breaking up a "page" into multiple pages
I'm building a page that is getting quite long, I would like to break it up into many pages with some type of page numbering at the bottom. In WordPress I would just insert the HTML code <!--next page-->, but that does not seem to be working in Dreamweaver. I have seen many websites that have done this, but I cannot figure it out. It looks like one website uses an "item list" with the li class="pager". Can someone point me in the right direction?
Here is a website that has an example of what I'm trying to do: http://www.shadylanefarmllc.com/news?page=1
I'm using Dreamweaver CS4 on a Mac.
Many ThanksHi
The page you refer to is a database driven site, doing what you wish in this case is as simple as using dreamweavers built-in server behaviours.
The none database, (static pages) way is to create the required number of pages for the content and simply link to the pages.

Breaking a large file into multiple SWFs
Hi -
I've created a project with about 70 slides, including a few that contain full motion video. Is there a way to publish each slide as an individual SWF? If I accomplish publishing each as an individual SWF should I use Aggregator to connect them, or should I have the end action of each slide be open the next slide?
ThanksSelect all and Hide all the slides in the filmstrip (rightclick when in the filmstrip) then UNHIDE the one you are pubishing, this will result in only publishing the one you have deselected. You will have to pubish 70 times, but it will save you from cutting and pasting them into new projects.

Breaking down SQL table into Multiple tables on the web using struts
I have a SQL table with business names and products. I am trying to display tables on a webpage for each individual business and their products. So one table is for each business and each business table lists all the products for that business. I'm not really sure how to do this. I sorted by the business names so all the related records are next to each other. I did try two nested iterate statements but received an error about missing a getter. Any suggestions would be helpful. I am writing this code in a JSP file and can use most struts commands (bean, html, nested commands). Sorry if this topics isn't very related to JSP but couldn't really find a better spot. Thanks

fld4 number );
create table t3 (fld1 varchar2(5), fld2 varchar2(10), fld3 varchar2(10),

Is there a way to break my iTunes Library into multiple libraries?
Hi,
I have a huge library...53,000 songs, 585GB of music. I'd like to use iTunes Match, so I'm wondering if there's a way to create a different library, where I could copy 25,000 songs from the "Master" library, to have iTunes Match use?
Any help appreciated,
GeoffCheck the instructions provided with the player. You may need to convert the music to MP3 first and/or locate it in the Finder.

I can't split a home DVD into multiple events. Why?
I have a DVD of old super 8 movies that I converted into a DVD years ago and want to extract selected segments as short movie clips. I have been able to load the entire DVD as a single event but I wanted to break this single event into multiple events based on various themes. My problem is that I don't seem to be able to split the content at all. The "Split event before selected Clip" always appears to be grayed out. What am I doing wrong?
paulfromcrystalI just figured it out. Somehow I didn't change it to the correct code of 1. So on the second shot of 5 allowed I realized I didn't change and save. Now the dvd played.

How prevent simultaneous execution of multiple button threads?
My AS 3 program has multiple buttons. Users can select one and then immediately select another and this causes 2 threads that collide. Once one button is executing, I want the other buttons to ignore clicks.
I've tried using a lock:Boolean to indicate a button is being processed. Each button checks lock. My logic is such that when the AS 3 processor detects a locked condition, it abandons execution of that button. However, surprisingly, it abandons execution only termporarily ... once the the boolean is unlocked, AS 3 comes back and executes the button.
The problems are twofold: 1) the first time the 2nd button attempts to execute (by checking lock), when it returns (from checking lock) and attempts to pick up processing where it left off, it seems to forget where it was and does not utlimately complete its task(s); possibly variables have been altered, it is difficult to say. That is, AS 3 is unable to successfully pickup where it left off on the first button.
2) the second problem is that AS 3 incorrectly returns to button 2 after the lock condition is cleared. It persists and will execute that button.
Can anyone tell me how once one button is selected, the others can be locked out and won't execute?? Multiple threads from these buttons is a problem.
Thanks in advance.
Steve @ U Iowadmennenoh - OK. The downside to that type of solution is that each button has to "know" which other buttons are on the stage at that time, but, yes, that should work. Do you think turning their visibility off would or would not be as effective as removing the event listeners? I'm thinking turning visiblity on or off is simpler and simpler to manage. Thanks for your help.

How do I stop iTunes from breaking out all the songs in one album into multiple albums?
How do I stop iTunes from breaking out all the songs in one album into multiple albums when the artist has many collaborators on the different songs, for example Timbaland? I want to just listen to the full album with all the songs, instead of having to play every song separately.
For your solution, see Steve MacGuire's helpful article: http://samsoft.org.uk/iTunes/grouping.asp
