Breakpoints not working when debugging OC4J web service

I am attempting to debug the PL/SQL web service autogenerated as part of the EMP_FETCHER tutorial example. My code has been compiled with debug information and the classes I wish to debug are not in my exclusions list.
When using the embedded OC4J container, I've verified that it is starting up in debug mode in the log. Setting breakpoints in the Emp_Fetcher class on the line commencing
__sJT_st = __sJT_ec.prepareOracleCall...
however seems to have no effect. Running my web service client does not cause the web service to stop on the selected breakpoint.
I've also tried remote debugging of the same web service on a separate database server. While I have been able to start OC4J on the server in debug mode, and connect to it from JDeveloper, setting of breakpoints seems to have no effect. I've monitored the TCP traffic on port 4000. It shows activity during the initial connection, but no traffic when I manipulate breakpoints in JDeveloper. I would have expected some traffic as breakpoints are added and removed.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Michael

  • SSO using spnego set up but not working for an Enterprise Web Service

    Hello, I am looking for some guidance. I have a function module that is exposed as a web service. I am trying to be able to access the web service with sso so the user does not need to logon. Systems has set up SSO using spnego to issue sap login tickets on our dual stack and sso is working if I try to access a netweaver link such as http://mycompany:8001/nwa but it is not working when I try to access my service
    http://mycompany.com:8001/sap/bc/srt/rfc/sap/myservice/500/myservice/myservice. I am wondering why this would not work and if it is possible to use sso with enterprise services?
    Thanks for any help...we have been stuck for a while now.

    Hi, I have created the redirect app with a jsp page in it. So, would you be suggesting that I add another call within there? In the error pages section of my web service in sicf I have the redirect going to my redirect jsp which is then sent to my web service.

    Here is  part of the the log from SMICM. It looks like I am making a connection but I am not sure what to look for to determine if the tickets is being sent and received.

  • Dbx does not work when debugging g++ exes.

    Hi,
    We are just getting started building our application on redhat el5 with sunstudio 12.
    We are compiling and linking our app with gcc 4.1 as we need to be able to link against some 3rd party libraries build on rhel4 that we do not have source for.
    We now can compile and link fine but dbx does not work when it is fed the executable.
    We get the error
    dbx: warning: Bad transition in runtime linker interface. CONSISTENT->CONSISTENT[
    and dbx freezes.
    Note : This is built with -m32 on a 64bit kernel. Also we have not yet rebuilt all the opensource libs used on gcc 4.1 as we have a large number of them.
    Any ideas ?

    Well, this message is just a warning and should not prevent dbx from working. What exactly happens to dbx? Does it hang? Does it crash? Or it doesn't allow to run the app?
    A side note: this message says that runtime linker debugging interface reported "consistent" event w/o any "add" or "delete" events, which is at least redundant and may indicate a bug. It is possible though that the bug is in dbx as well as in ld-linux.so, but its impossible to tell without live test case.

  • Substitution strings not working in URLs for web service references (bug?)

    We have an environment where the url for our BPEL server is read from a variable. I've created an application item and a corresponding application-level computation. I'm using the ampersand-followed-by-dot (&BPEL_SERVER.) syntax as well as the hashmark syntax (#BPEL_SERVER#) and am unable to get this working.
    Is there a way for me to debug web service reference calls other than whether a call was successful? Is this a bug?
    edit:
    Here is the error message I get when I try to use a substitution:
    ORA-20001: The webservice was unreachable because either the URL you supplied was invalid, your environment requires a valid proxy server address for HTTP requests, or a wallet needs to be configured for HTTPS requests.

    No problem - let me try to lay this out a little differently, perhaps I'm just missing something.
    problem:
    * we have separate development, test, and production servers for our database and bpel servers.
    * The hostnames for these servers are stored in a table of key/value pairs
    * This means that (by policy) the hostnames in URLs calling BPEL web services should be the value corresponding to BPEL_SERVER so that the appropriate bpel server is used to call the web service
    attempted solution:
    1) I created an application item named BPEL_SERVER
    2) I have a before-header computation that sets BPEL_SERVER to 'http://bpeldev' using a static value assignment
    3) I have a web service reference whose URL is either &BPEL_SERVER./orabpel/default/callNotification/1.0 or #BPEL_SERVER#/orabpel/default/callNotification/1.0
    4) The web service reference is called in an after-submit process.
    5) An invalid URL exception is thrown for this process.when submitting on the page containing this process
    observations:
    * for (3) - I can set the URL to http://bpeldev/orabpel/default/callNotification/1.0 and everything occurs successfully
    * for (3) - If I use http://bpeldev/&BPEL_SERVER. then when I execute (4), I see a request for the exact string http://bpeldev/&BPEL_SERVER. in bpeldev's access logs
    * for (3) - If I use http://bpeldev/#BPEL_SERVER# then when I execute (4), I see a request for the exact string http://bpeldev/#BPEL_SERVER# in bpeldev's access logs
    * for (2) I've also used a function call RETURN get_const_value('BPEL_SERVER'); - same results for (5)
    * the item value has ben verified before (5)
    * for (1) and (2) I've tried defining substitution strings in the application definition instead - same results for (5)

  • Class DbwsProxy does not exist when connecting to WEB SERVICE

    Hi,
    I am trying to connect to the OC4J sample web service using the Oracle supplied method specified in this document.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/tech/java/jsp/callout_users_guide.htm
    We of course use a 10g DB.
    The DBWS Callout Utilities were successfully installed by our systems team.
    When I run the sample script for the PL/SQL Dynamic Invocation Interface (DII)
    I get this error:
    ORA-29540: class oracle/jpub/runtime/dbws/DbwsProxy does not exist
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_DBWS", line 178
    ORA-06512: at "ABS.CHANNA_TEST_PLSQL_DII", line 14
    ORA-06512: at line 1
    Why is this??
    Any help would be grately appreciated?
    Is there any grans/permissions we have to give?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Channa.

    Be certain to "propagate permissions" for the shared volume. Under Manage Devices, look for hardware, "Server" then the tab on the right, storage, gear icon at bottom.
    This will change the permissions for all files, folders and sub folders.

  • Powershell unzip with shell.application not working when launched from windows service

    I have a deployment agent on a machine implemented as a windows service. Service is 32-bit and runs on windows server 2008R2 x64 SP1 with powershell V2. Powershell script requires elevation and to run under x64 because of dependency to powershell module
    'IIS Administration'. To achieve this, the service starts a cmd file which in turn launches powershell x64 console:
    C:\WINDOWS\sysnative\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe "Start-Process C:\WINDOWS\system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell -ArgumentList '-ExecutionPolicy Bypass -NoLogo -NonInteractive -NoProfile -File C:\Temp\EndJobCmd\Install.ps1' -Verb RunAs"
    This seems to work well. The problem I have is that the script has a sequence where it unpacks a zip file to a destination folder using shell.application, this works fine when triggered manually on the server or through the task scheduler, but when triggered
    from the service it does not extract any files at all (cannot see any errors thrown by the script but it seems to continue to execute as it logs a successful message to the event log after finishing).
    Unzip sequence looks like:
    $shell = New-Object -com shell.application
    $pkg = $shell.namespace($sourceFile)
    $installDir = $shell.namespace($targetDir)
    $installDir.Copyhere($pkg.items(), 20)
    Any advice greatly appreciated. I have searched some and seen a few people with similar issue but have yet to find a solution.

    If it's still actual, I managed to fix this with having CopyHere params equal 1564.
    So in my case extract zip function looks like:
    function Expand-ZIPFile{
    param(
    $file, $destination
    $shell = new-object -com shell.application
    $zip = $shell.NameSpace($file)
    foreach($item in $zip.items())
    $shell.Namespace($destination).copyhere($item,1564)
    "$($item.path) extracted"
    1564 description can be found here - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/bb787866(v=vs.85).aspx:
    (4) Do not display a progress dialog box.
    (8) Give the file being operated on a new name in a move, copy, or rename operation if a file with the target name already exists.
    (16) Respond with "Yes to All" for any dialog box that is displayed.
    (512) Do not confirm the creation of a new directory if the operation requires one to be created.
    (1024) Do not display a user interface if an error occurs.

  • "405 - Method Not Allowed" when calling my Web Service

    Hi Guys,
    In APEX.ORACLE.COM I am trying to call some PL/SQL via a Web Service with the following setup:
    URI Template: TestPOST
    Method          : POST
    Source Type : PL/SQL
    Requires Secure Access : No
    Source:
    begin
      delete from ora_log;
      insert into ora_log values (1, 2, 3, null, sysdate);
      commit;
    end;
    The call is:
    https://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/orange/TestPOST
    But Firefox returns Error: 405 - Method Not Allowed
    Does anyone know how to resolve this?
    Access to my Workspace is:
    Workspace: ORANGE
    User     : guest
    Password : 01range
    My email : [email protected]
    Cheers
    Jeroen

    There a number of standard verbs defined in HTTP:
    GET- Retrieve a resource
    POST- Submit new resource
    PUT - update resource
    DELETE - delete resource
    When you enter a URL in a web browser it always uses the GET method, the method to retrieve the resource.
    In your example Firefox is attempting to a do a GET on https://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/orange/TestPOST
    but you have not defined a GET handler for this resource, only a POST handler. ORDS then tells you that the GET method is not supported on the resource, which is the correct behaviour.
    If you want to test the POST method from within a browser then you need to use JavaScript and perform an XMLHttpRequest and configure it to use the 'POST' method, for an example see the ORDS Developer guide:

  • Class not found when invoking sub web-service

    Hi all :)
    I build a simple BPEL process that invokes a web method. Since here, no problem. No the concerned web method is a web service client of another web service... and it throws me an exception so that the first web method does not find a class needed for the soap request to the second web service. BUT if I call directly this web method, there is no problem : it call the second web method and it works very well...
    It seems that the BPEL process make that the first web method loses his contexte or something like that :(

    I recently moved from the US to Switzerland and changed my SIM card from one of Verizon's to one of Orange's (Orange is a popular provider in Switzerland). Unfortunately, the Find My Phone feature is now not working, whether I'm connected to WiFi or using data. Does anyone know if the feature only works in the States?

    Find My Phone only requires an Internet connection, either WiFi or 3G. Have you tried turning Find My Phone off, wait about 30 seconds or so, then turning it back on?

  • WriteDocument SVG not working when debugging

    Hi,
    I am trying to save a file as svg (silently in the background), by doing the following:
    ai::FilePath svgFile;
    err = sAIFilePath->NewFilePath(svgFile);
    err = sAIFilePath->Set(ai::UnicodeString("/Users/tom/tmp.svg"), true, svgFile);
    err = sAIDocument->WriteDocument(svgFile, kAISVGFileFormat, false);
    When running the plugin from Xcode (in debug mode) this isn't working. There are no errors but the svg file stays empty and untouched. If I try to manually "File" -> "Save as" ->  "SVG" -> "Save" it shows a dialog with a button "SVG Code...". If I click on it nothing happens! Is the svg feature broken somehow?
    Now for the weird part; if I just run Illustrator and use the plugin that way (not in debug mode), none of the above problems occur.
    I am totally stuck, any help is greatly appreciated.
    Best,
    Tom

    I have isolated the problem somewhat. I think it is a bug, maybe someone can try to reproduce this?
    Open one of the examples provided as part of Adobe Illustrator CC 2014 SDK (I used annotator).
    Make sure AI CC 2014 is loading the samples.
    In AI CC 2014 preferences, go to "Plugins & Scratch Disks"
    Check additional Plugins Folder
    Choose the dir in which the sample project will be build: [...]SDK/samplecode/output/mac/debug
    In Xcode (6.1), Product -> Scheme -> Edit Scheme.
    Select Run (debug) and use the following settings:
    build configuration: debug
    executable: Adobe Illustrator CC 2014.app
    check debug executable
    Product -> Run
    Now, Xcode will debug the sample in AI.
    Create a new document
    File -> Save as..
    Choose SVG as the format and click save.
    A Dialog will appear, keep the default settings and click Save.
    In my case, this results in a dialog with the message: The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error. [PARM]
    Note that the problem only occurs in AI CC 2014. In AI CC it works correctly.
    Thanks,
    Tom

  • How to deploy and debug java web service in eclipes or using any other soft

    Hai,
    can any one tell me how to deploy and debug java web service in eclipes or using any other software.
    i have used tomcat web server and jdk1.4.0 to develop web service.
    we have used web service to interact with MS outlook .

    sudhakar.m

    Hi Sudhakar,
    If you are used to working with ant then you can very well use eclipse to deploy your web service.
    You would usually have the ant script in the source root working directory. From eclipse if you select the build file from the navigator view and right click you will see a run ant option in the pop up menu.
    Select that option and you would be able to see each targets with a checkbox select option. So define each target maybe one for wsdl2java conversion, one for compilation and one for deploying your web services. You can either make all of them run by having depends option on or you can run them individually as it takes your fancy.
    I am not sure about debugging a web service yet.
    Hope this helps

    The truth is out there? Does anyone know the URL?

  • Eroor in eclipse when i have run TOMCAT in debuge mode web service debuging

    hello all,
    i have a serious problem with debug my web service. I set local variable in eclipse (-Xdebug -Xnoagent -Djava.compiler=NONE -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,server=y,suspend=y,address=8000). And now if i run TOMCAT in normal mode all worked fine and i run remote java application fine, but if i run TOMCAT in debug mode, eclipse in console return error:
    "Error occurred during initialization of VM
    agent library failed to init: jdwp
    ERROR: Cannot load this JVM TI agent twice, check your java command line for duplicate jdwp options."
    If anyone have this problem please tell me how to resolved it.
    Thank for help.

    Eclipse is kind of a competing product so this is not the best place to ask the question. With that most will be nice enough to lend a hand. I suggest ensuring that all other instances of tomcat are stopped then try again. In the Debug perspective ensure there are no servers running with the same name as the one you are attempting to use. If all else fails ensure there are no tomcat process running if they are kill them. Finally, if you cant get it to work reboot. If still no good the Eclipse might be a better place to go.

    When I navigate web with Firefox my Thinkpad trackpoint center button is not working. With other web browsers it works well. Where is the problem in firefox, how to enable TrackPoint center button?

    I have exactly the same settings in Options (in both computers)
    for history, these 2 add-ons and all other stuff in Options. The only difference is that on 1 pc sessions can be saved and closed tabs can be reopened, on other main pc they stopped to work. + no any other add-on that does similar things works on this pc.
    It is also interesting that I can reopen closed visited sites from History Panel, but not by pressing the Button. For now I only manually bookmark links to a temporary folder.
    Recently (some 2 month ago) I pressed x and Firefox closed all tabs without saving them without displaying save & quit pop up.
    so I changed 4 settings in about.config
    browser.tabs.warn on close true
    browser.warn on quit true
    browser.warn on restart true
    browser.show.quit warning true
    but the problem with sessions appeared only 1 week ago.
    So I guess the problem is not with the History settings or other settings. Seems that something responsible for button or for storing info about tabs/sessions got corrupted. :(

  • How to debug ABAP Web services from Microsoft Visual Studio

    When developing .NET based Web services clients using Visual Studio that call Web services in SAP NetWeaver .NET developers would like to be able to debug inside SAP. In my blog <a href="/people/andre.fischer/blog/2007/02/07/how-to-debug-abap-web-services-from-microsoft-visual-studio to debug ABAP Web services from Microsoft Visual Studio</a> I would like to point .NET developers to the fact that SAP NetWeaver offers the option of external debugging to perform this task. Though the steps that have to be performed are described in the SAP Online Help I am sure that this option is not well known amongst the .NET developer community.

    Hello WilliamIV,
    >>How can I "configure" Visual Studio debugger to allow validation to work?
    Since I do not have a VS2012 environment, according to your provided link, I created a test demo with VS2013, however, both ways catch the validation error:
    If possible, you could have a try with VS2013 to see if it works or run the example on other machine with VS2012 to see if this is caused by the VS environment, in my side, I do not change any configuration, all are default.
    If I misunderstood this issue, please feel free to let me know.
