Bridge error sound

When I'm using Bridge cs6 it will work fine for like 20 minutes and then when using the arrows to scroll through pictures I will get an error sound. Then I won't be able to scroll anymore and continue to get an error sound if I click anything in bridge.  This happens until I restart bridge and then it will work for about another 20 minutes before I get the same problem.  I just upgraded to CS6 in September from CS4 because CS4 couldn't read my new camera's RAW files without converting them to DNGs.

The sound you get most likely is from an OS error or function that is being implemented.  Don't think Bridge has any error sounds, but could be wrong.
When you  are scrolling is the cache fully indexed?  If not perhaps you are giving the processor too much work and its protests.
I have noticed with CS6 Bridge the whole system locks up until the cache if finished.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Windows 7 - Pci-to-Pci Bridge (Error: Code 10) - PCI Video Card

Before I state my issues I will list what I'm running and what I'm trying to accomplish.
I'm running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit edition, not the Beta or RC. I have 3 video cards in my possession (listed below).
    - (PCIe) Evga GTX260
    - (PCI) Evga 9400GT
    - (PCI) Evga Fx5500
Out of those 3 cards I only use the GTX260 and the 9400GT. I had to 'retire' the Fx5500 because the latest WHQL (certified) drivers only provide support as far down as the "6 series" Nvidia cards. Unfortunately the Fx5500 is a "5 series" and falls below that line. I have already tried to use the GTX260 and Fx5500 in previous versions of Windows (XP and Vista), but there is no way to download and install two separate drivers for two of the same make of video card - you'll get nothing but errors. There is the option of going to a place like guru3d.com and downloading a custom supported driver that covers both the GTX260 and Fx5500, but the drivers are not certified and lack support. Therefore, I purchased and now use the 9400GT which is covered under the drivers for the GTX260 and eliminates the need for messing around with custom drivers. Also, the 9400GT has a better graphics processor and more memory than the Fx5500, so it was time to upgrade anyway.
Now that you have some background info here is my issue Whenever I install the 9400GT I get a second 'pci-to-pci bridge' entry (the other entry has no errors) that shows up under 'System Devices' in the Device Manager. The second pci-to-pci bridge entry has a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark on it that refers to a problem. When you check the properties of this device it more or less says that Windows has detected a problem (Error Code 10). The GTX260 still works and even shows up under the 'Display Adapters' as a GTX260, but no entry for the 9400GT exists. I have tried the 9400GT in both PCI slots and each time it does the same thing. If I pull out the GTX260 and ONLY run the 9400GT, I still get the pci-to-pci bridge issue, BUT I do get a picture and can boot into Windows 7 without a hitch. When I do this there is still nothing listed under the 'Display Adapters' as a 9400GT or even a VGA compatible device.
After messing around with this for 10 hours (yes, I said 10 hours) I decided to dig out my retired PCI video card (the Fx5500). When I installed this card I had no 2nd pci-to-pci bridge entry appear under 'System Devices', and the one that was listed had no yellow triangle or error codes. I then checked under 'Display Adapters' and Windows 7 had recognized it as a VGA compatible device and was asking for drivers.
I have now concluded that there is definitely no issue with the motherboard or any of my hardware (including video cards). At first EVGA Support and I had suspected that the motherboard may be bad because of all of the pre-diagnostic steps I had taken during my 10 hour ordeal. I'm not going to list everything I did because it would literally take 3 hours to type it all in. Just believe me when I say that I have tried most things including but not limited to the latest bios updates (flashed 4 times and completely reset to ensure accuracy), custom IRQ management, entire OS re-installation X2, multiple/latest chipset drivers installed, multiple/latest video drivers installed, memtest testing, complete hardware teardown and re-build (adding one device at a time), and MUCH more. The only thing I did not try was installing a different OS other than Windows 7 64-bit to see if I could replicate the issue. This is a waste of time though because lets say that I install Windows XP Pro and the 9400GT doesn't have this issue... Well, that's great, but who gives a damn about XP Pro when I have been using it for the last 9 years and when I have a full version of Windows 7 that I want to use? I'm certainly not going to run XP Pro over Windows 7 just to use this PCI video card. Second, if I install XP Pro and it still gives me the same pci-to-pci bridge error then again, I've only wasted more time because if its not going to work in either OS then Im sure as hell not going to leave XP Pro installed when I can use Windows 7.
    Thanks,
    piyush

Maybe stupid question now but has your posting anything to do with Toshiba and Toshiba notebooks?

  • How to switch off  the  error sound  in Triversity

    Hi
How to switch off the  error sound in Triversity, The audio of the computer is already in mute state. The problem is found with DELL pc and not with HP

    Mohammed,
There is, actually, a better way to get rid of that annoying beep every time you get a policy prompt, error, etc.
I have a Dell Vostro 1300 and I have done this in other Dell laptops with sucess. Perform the following:
Go to Control Panel --> System --> (on the HARDWARE tab) Click on DEVICE MANAGER
In DEVICE MANAGER, click on VIEW --> SHOW HIDDEN DEVICES
Now, go to "NON-PLUG AND PLAY DRIVERS" and you will see "BEEP" listed as an active device. Right click on it and select "DISABLE" and then reboot your laptop.
You should be golden right after the reboot.
    Hope this helped,
    Alfredo Carigga

  • Just tried installing an update to OS.  Although the screen tells me that the installation will be completed in less than one minute, that was two hours ago, and the computer won't permit me to shut it down via the power button, as I get an error sound.

Just tried installing an update to OSX Snow Leopard.  Prior to trying to update OS, I was running V 10.6.3.  During installation, it locked up.  Although the screen tells me that the installation will be completed in less than one minute, that was two hours ago, and the computer won't permit me to shut it down via the power button, as I get an error sound.  What do I do now?  Help!

Hold the power key till it shuts down, it may take a little while, try holding it thru the warning.
Then if it shuts down restart and open Safari/Preferences, General tab, and set "Save Downloaded Files to:"
Select desktop, if desktop is not available in the the drop down menu, click other, then select Desktop from the column from the on the left.
    Then download this:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
This will download the "stand alone installer"
Click on the installer pkg and follow the prompts.
    Hope this helps

  • Error sound every time I add or modify an ical entry

Ever since I upgraded to MobilMe and iPhone push, I get the error sound (the "sosumi") if I change or add an event in Ical (eg, move an event to a new date, or change a time or even a word in the event.) The change does take effect and propagate, but the error sound is incredibly annoying. Thoughts?

    soulbarn,
How many calendars do you have?
    Are any of them subscribed/birthdays?
iCal Help Topic "If you can't change an event or calendar" says:
If you can’t change an event or calendar, check the following:
If it’s a calendar to which you’ve subscribed, you can change the calendar name but you can’t change its events or to-do items.
If you were invited to an event, you can change only your status for the event, the calendar where the event appears, and the event alarm.
You can’t change or delete events on the Birthdays calendar. (To show the Birthdays calendar, select “Show Birthdays calendar” in iCal preferences.) To change the birthdays that appear, open Address Book (in your Applications folder) and make your changes there. For more information, in Address Book choose Help > Address Book Help.
    Open Address Book
If you can’t change a single event’s time zone or the iCal time zone, time zone support may be turned off. Choose iCal > Preferences, click Advanced, and then make sure the “Turn on time zone support” checkbox is selected.
If you want to change events on a calendar that you published on the Internet, but you’ve deleted the calendar from your Calendars list, you need to re-create the calendar with all its events, give it the same name as the published calendar, and then publish the new calendar. The new calendar will replace the previously published one.
If you can’t change an event for which you are the organizer, or you can’t change the attendee settings for an event you’ve been invited to, make sure all your email addresses are listed on your Address Book card (the card marked “me”).

Oh, I'm on my phone because if the problem, so I put the whole question in the title. But, the  problem is that my computer acts like I've got the alt key down   I start up, and gives me an error sound when I hit certain keys (e i, u, and a few othes) so I can't log in. Help?

You showed a kernel panic file from OS X, apprantly Log Me In is installed into OS X or running when you log in.
You should be using the developers installer/unistaller to remove Log Me In from OS X.
Somehow it's in OS X, I don't know, but it's there and you need to remove it. I'm not dealing with Windows, just OS X.
Talk to Log Me In people and find out what is installed where so you can do a manual deletion out of OS X.
If that doesn't work, you have to reboot holding the Shift key down manually search for any Log Me In or Himachi files on your computer, in your System/Library/Extensions folder too, use the free Easy Find.

  • Can anyone explain an error sound and erratic control of wireless mouse

Hi people. I have a 21inch iMac from September 2013, just before Apple gave iMac a minor hardware update to the processor.
Within 9 months of  purchase i have had this weird problem.
The problem is the  "sound you get from the iMac when you press a key on the keyboard and its an error". Well... that error sound sometimes continues as if constantly pressing a key.
Even though I've just switched on the computer this sound occurs.
To add to that odd problem i have strange control over the wireless mighty mouse.
If i go to the task bar at the top of the screen and select the Apple icon and attempt to shut down or any selection for that matter, the cursor jumps from one selection to the other. And there are occasions when the Macintosh HD icon on the right of the desktop is highlighted in blue as if i have selected it.
Batteries in mouse are new Duracell and from the same new packet.

There are several possible causes for this issue. Please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried until it's resolved. Some may not apply in your case.
    1. Follow the instructions in this support article, and also this one, if applicable. A damaged or defective AC adapter could be the cause, even if it's the right kind.
    2. Press down all four corners of the trackpad at once and release. If there's any effect, it's likely to be temporary, and in that case the unit must be serviced or replaced.
    3. Open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and delete all pointing devices other than the trackpad, if applicable. Disconnect any USB pointing devices. By a "pointing device," I mean a peripheral that moves the cursor, such as a trackpad, mouse, trackball, or graphics tablet. A plain keyboard is not a pointing device.
    4. Start up in safe mode and test, preferably without launching any third-party applications. If you don't have the problem in safe mode, but it comes back when you restart as usual, stop here and post your results. Do the same if you can't start in safe mode. If there was no difference in safe mode, go on to the next step.
    5. Reset the System Management Controller.
    6. If you're using a Bluetooth trackpad or mouse, investigate potential sources of interference, including USB 3 devices.
    7. A swollen battery in a portable computer can impinge on the trackpad from below and cause erratic behavior. If you have trouble clicking the trackpad, this is likely the reason. The battery must be replaced without delay.
    8. There's a report that a (possibly defective) Thunderbolt Ethernet adapter can cause the built-in trackpad of a MacBook to behave erratically. If you're using such an adapter, disconnect it and test.
    9. There's also a report of erratic cursor movements caused by an external display that was connected but not turned on.
    10. If none of the above applies, or if you have another reason to think that your computer is being remotely controlled, remove it from the network by turning off Wi-Fi (or your Wi-Fi access point), disconnecting from a Bluetooth network link, and unplugging the Ethernet cable or USB modem, whichever is applicable. If the cursor movements stop at once, you should suspect an intrusion.
    11. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine and/or external trackpad tested.

  • Error sound on mac when switching tab with cmd+right arrow

On Firefox 3.6.9 and OSX 10.6.4, when I switch to a tab to the right using cmd+right arrow, I get an error sound but Firefox successfully switches to the tab. The error sound is the same sound you get when you press a keyboard shortcut that doesn't exists (ex: cmd+?)
However, if I use cmd+left arrow I don't get the error sound.
How can I eliminate the error sound?

I am just finally posting a reply. Looks as though the sound card went out. I was told that I could purchase a new open and install myself. I did not do that, but rather my step-dad just decided it was time to buy a new Mac Mini.

    Hi,
We have installed 11g weblogic and forms and reports successfully but while calling a form sometimes in concurrent sessions getting 'Failure of Server Apache Bridge Error'.
    Following are the system details:
    System: Windows 2008 64 bit
    Forms/reports [64 Bit] Version 11.1.2.0.0

As suggested in most of the forums, we have disabled IPv6 and replaced hostname with IP Address of the system in mod_wl_ohs.conf, forms.conf and reports_ohs.conf like this:
    mod_wl_ohs:
    DynamicServerList Off

Any prompt help would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Thanks for the prompt reply.
We can access the report with 2 or 3 concurrent connections properly but the moment there are more concurrent connections it gives 'Failure of Server Apache Bridge Error' in client browser for new connections and whoever is already logged in their application gets hang.
So restarting also wont help as there can be more than 100 concurrent connections.
We have changed few parameters like :
    StartServers 2
    MaxClients 2500
    MinSpareThreads 25
    MaxSpareThreads 2500
    ThreadsPerChild 25
    MaxRequestsPerChild 0

  • Error sound

    Hello,
Recently I noticed that my powerbook would spontaneously produce an error sound (sound you get when something crashes - like a hi-pitched beep). I don't know what's causing it and don't see anything that would.
I think this started happening after I tried to install adobe 7.0 reader. For some reason the program that I downloaded of the adobe site failed to install the program because it wouldn't download the file.
Anyone know what I can do to stop the sound from happening? Could it be a program running in the background that I can't see?
    Thanks
