Broadcasting Authorization or Setup

I am having an issue with Information Broadcasting within 2004s SP10. My scheduling is working fine in my Dev environment when the system is open. However when I move into the test environment and I click the button to schedule a broadcast setting from the Web Template the screen just flashes and stays the same, nothing happens inside the wizard. I checked and double checked my authorizations for background job processing and broadcast authorizations and everything seems correct as far as help.sap is concerned.
Is this issue a authorization issue or am I missing a setting somewhere?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
The required authorizations are mentioned in the links:S_OC_SEND,S_RS_ADMWB with the field RSADMWBOBJ = BR_SETTING.

  • Information Broadcasting Authorization at Query Level

    Hi,
I would like to know, is there any way to authorized a user at query level in information broadcasting?
For example, there are three plant P1,P2 and P3 showing in Query, now i want to broadcast this query to E-mail to two user U1 and U2 in following manner.
1.) User U1 get only Plant P1 Data.
2.) User U2 get only Plant P2 Data.

    Yes, you can do that. For that;
Plant should be authorization relevant info object
(ii) you must have roles to give access to users at Plant level
(iii) Users U1 and U2 must be SAP user IDs and should have required role for Plant access
(iv) Query to be broadcasted must have auhtorization variable for Plant
Once the basic setup is ready, you can test it by executing the report for individual users U1 and U2 and they should see data only for respective Plants.
Now in the broadcasting setting, specify the users U1 and U2 in User box seperated by semi-colon and tick the checkbox "User Specific" - this will make sure that data is executed as per the data aurthoziation and also format will be selected as per the user profile (date format etc).
If U1 and U2 are not the SAP users, you will have give their email addresses and will have to create two different broadcast settings to send data for selection plants.
    I hope it helps.

    Gaurav

  • BEX Broadcasting Authorization

    Hi experts,
I am trying to send query output to users via broadcasting according to their authorizations. I would like to send EXCEL or PDF format.
The problem is that users get my authorizations and can see restriction data. I used precalculate query with authorization object but without luck.
I think the system generates file accordingly to my authorizations and after this sends it to list of the users.
The question is how can I send file to list of the users accordingly to their each one authorizations?
Did anyone face with this problem?
I hope I made myself clear.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Abhishek,
I used this option but it didn`t help me. The filters calculates only ones, according to my authorization. I need the filters calculate as much as quantity of users it will bi send.
For example: I have query 1 (Q1) with object (AUTH_OBJ). I create the control query where AUTH_OBJ uses with authorization variable (AUTH_VAR).
I have a list with 50 users and each one have another authorithation. When I send this query Q1 via broadcasting (Bursting) the system generate file with data according to my authorithation and after this "burst" to users. All of this 50 users can see restriction data because file is generated with my authorization.
    Thank you.

    Ravi
Verify the selections in the Production system v/s the test system. Are they exactly the same ? I can think of two possibilities -
    1. User is attempting to access a selection where he/ she does not have access to at least one of the CVC's filtered by the CVC.
    2. The selection definition should (but does not in your case) contain the characteristic on which the authorization is setup.

  • Web Broadcasting Error

    Hello Experts,
Our users cannot use the broadcasting function in Web reports to distribute reports by email.  They are getting the error message that they do not have the necessary authorizations (authorization object S_OC_SEND).  Where do I assign this authorization object?  In SU01?  I, as the Key User have successfully used the broadcast function in web reports, but in looking at my id in SU01, I don't see such an authorization object.  Where would I see it and how can I add it for our users?  And are there other objects needed to use the web broadcast functionality?

  • Can't setup wifi network

    Hi Apple
I have had major probs setting up my AirPort Extreme Base Station 802.11n (AEBSn) in the past, in the end i hired a home pc guy who also couldnt figure out AEBSn software but somehow managed to setup everything through windows control panel. Since then the product has been working fine... Until now. I've replaced my old laptop with a new PC and my Wifi network has dissapeared. The AEBSn still has a solid green indicator light, home network is functioning fine.
I have and upstream gateway adsl2 modem plugged into the wall, running to my AEBSn (which i beleive is setup as a bridge with a static IP) which splits the internet to my PC, NAS, HTPC. All cables are cat6 and all access points are recieving a connection. Its just the wifi that isn't broadcasting.
The setup manual doesnt say much, the apple aiport software ultilty recognizes the AEBSn as a 5th gen 802.11n. It assigns a name, airport ID and IP address. Current version 7.5.2. If i try to update from the main screen it gives me the 10057 error, if i try File>Configure Other it gives me the -6753 error.
    I have read this discussion
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3289924?start=0&tstart=0
and i guess ill attempt to fix the 10057 error in hopes i will then be able to setup a wifi network.
Actually if anyone can offer a workaround so i dont have to use the airport utility that would be great.
    Cheers

  • Can't HP Officejet pro 8100 do wifi access point?

Yesterday my HP Officejet pro 8100 arrived and I try to connect via wifi. I thinked that It need a infrastructure access point to print via wifi.
When I powered on the printer I osserved that It create an access point autonomously with SSID: HP-Setup-7A-Officejet Pro, with IPv4 address server, etc...
I was very happy and I printed a page with my smartphone samsung s4 connected directly with printer access point (not wifi direct but standard wifi).
Today no changed occurred but I can't use printer with its own access point, but only with an external wifi access point.
Someone can help me, please? It could be an hardware problem?
    Thanks,
    Luca
P.S. in web server I checked that "access point connectivity" (Punto di accesso wireless connettività in Italian) is checked.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hello lucait
To print via WiFi you need to have a wireless router setup. Once you have the wireless router setup correctly you will have a SSID and Wepkey that will enable you to add devices to your network. The network will allow all your devices to communicate not just with each other but with the internet. At the moment your printer was not put in a network so instead of broadcasting on a network it is broadcasting on it's own network called HP-Setup-7A-Officejet Pro which is only good for a short period of time to allow you to setup your wireless. I am going to assume you have a wireless network and you are just needing assistance getting the printer setup on that network.
To set your printer up on a network you will need to reset your network defaults so your printer begins to broadcast that HP-Setup-7A-Officejet Pro network again. You can do this buy following the steps on the HP Support document Resetting the Network Settings. Once you have done this you can begin to install the software that came with your printer on your computer. You want to set the printer up wirelessly when the option arrives. The software should configure your printers wireless for you and put it on the network. Once completed you should be able to access your printer from all your devices as long as they are on the network.
I hope this helps resolve your wireless issue. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Using the Embedded Web Server To Connect A Wireless Printer To Your Network

AKA:No Wireless Setup Wizard Button, which would be way easier.
    The Prelude
Some entry level printers do not offer a 'Wireless Setup Wizard' button, or a menu option that is accessible from the front of the printer. Printers that do not offer this luxury option, can still be easily configured to communicate to your router if you have a Mac or Windows PC.
You still may have an easy option to get your network settings configured in your printer, if your router supports WPS. I personally do not like to use WPS as it can bring its own frustrations. WPS is not within the scope of this document.
This document is geared towards the last available option, and in my opinion the best option. It can however be the most involved option. I am referring to using the Embedded Web Server (EWS). Most modern network capable HP Printers have a setting page that can be accessed from a web browser. The process is rather simple, but many confusing hiccups can occur, and that is what I hope to prepare you for.  There will be variances for different printers. I am using my experience with consumer printers that have been around the last few years.
First, do not get overexcited about this document: Accessing the HP Embedded Web Server. Don't get me wrong, it is a great document, it's just that the instructions, while accurate, will not work until your printer is configured to connect to your network first. We will revisit this later however.
    Seatbelts Please
The first thing we need to do, is have the printer broadcast its own network, sometimes referred to as AdHoc, sometimes referred to as Auto Wireless Connect. To do this, you need to navigate the menu system of the printer, and find the option to reset the network settings, network defaults or something similar. If your printer has the Wireless Direct feature you won't need to reset the network settings, but this is a perfect time to make sure Wireless Direct is turned on. If you aren't using Wireless Direct, the timer starts. Generally speaking, for the next two hours, the printer will broadcast an 'HP Setup' network, or have some variation of the printers name listed in available wireless networks. Regardless you should have plenty of time, if you read it all first and then went throught the steps.
    *Preparation:
Here is where you want to use your favorite device, one capable of seeing 2.4ghz networks. Android phone, Apple iPad, Chromebook, Windows or Mac Notebook that you decided not to install the printer software on. Any of these devices will work. Apple iOS devices required a bit of coddling, as Safari doesn't work well with the EWS Wireless Setup Wizard.
Do you know your network SSID? What about the passphrase, passkey or whatever the security word is called?
If you didn't set it up, and just started using it when the internet guy installed it, then there is probably a sticker on the router with that information. If you still can't find it, call your ISP, router manufacturer or favorite family member for help to find that information (If you use a family member, remember to buy them something nice on the next gift giving holiday in your region).
    *Apple iOS specific, device preparation:
    1. You will save yourself a lot of frustration by downloading the Chrome Browser for iOS now. Go ahead, I will wait...
If you are installing Chrome for the first time, when it completes the install, open it, and get passed the greeting and tutorial before continuing.
    2. You need to forget your home network connection when you are done with step 1. Just hold down on your home network in the wireless networks list, and 'Forget' the connection (or find the arrow that leads to the same option). If you do not take this step, it will reconnect to the home network once you run the Wireless Setup Wizard, causing you to have to back track.
    3. Be aware, when you connect to your printer's network, that it may appear to not connect (ie. spinning wheel, no confirmation) to the printer. This is a known behavior. Just close the wireless settings, and proceed as normal.
    Begin The Journey
Open up the wireless section of your device and look in the list of available networks and tell it to connect to the HP printer network. The SSID will usually start with HP, and may have the printer model or the word SETUP in the name. Once you are connected (see "Apple iOS specific, device preparation #3 if you are using iOS), it is time to open your browser, preferably the Chrome browser when at all possible. In the address bar type 192.168.223.1 and press go or hit enter. I use the colloquialism 'hit' when I just mean 'press' again, sorry for the redudancy.
If all is well, you should see a web page that should refer to your printer. Now is the time to find the 'Wireless Setup Wizard' button. Most printers should have it here on the main page of the EWS. Just take your time, it may not be obvious at first. Once you press it, the setup process will begin. Follow the instructions. It should see a list of detected wireless networks, and you can select your home network. Then if it requires a password, it will prompt for you to enter it. At the end of the Wizard, it might say something about not being able to test it, or show a page cannot be displayed screen. This is OK. This means the printer is now talking to your router and not your device in your hand.
    Proof Of Concept
You can now tell your device to scan and connect back to your normal home network. Once you connect, you can verify if you can see your printer. Keep in mind, with dual band routers, that the printers will typically only be visible on the 2.4GHZ network, so your device should also connect to that network as well for testing. Once connected, now we need to find out what IP Address the printer has. Remember the document I started with “Accessing the HP Embedded Web Server”. It now is relevant, and you can complete those instructions to make sure you can see your printer on the same network. If your device can enter the printers EWS with its new IP, then you have officially connected your printer to your network. Also your printers wireless light should be solid, indicating communication.
    If It Worked
Now the fun begins. If you are setting up ePrint, and if there is no option to configure ePrint from the front panel, find the Web Services tab, and proceed with that process. If you are setting it up to a Chomebook, you still need to setup ePrint (if it is an ePrinter) before configuring Cloudprint... but that's another document.
I hope I have not missed any small detail that pertains to your configuration that made this hard to follow. Any comments would be welcomed to improve this for future use.

That printer also has a USB port why don't you connect it using that port?
If you insist on using ethernet, Mac OS X can create two network connections at the same time. On the iMac you can configure one of the network connections to be wireless and the other to be wired using the ethernet port.
Since you already have a wireless network configured and connecting to your AirPort Extreme for Internet access all you need to do is plug in an ethernet cable from your iMac directly to your printer and configure them to use self-assigned IP addresses. Self-assigned IP addresses take the form of 169.xxx.xxx.xxx and are used in this configuration to avoid any conflicts with your other network. You have to configure the iMac and the printer to each have a unique IP address in the self-assigned range, just make each of the last group of numbers in the IP address different, and then the iMac should be able to print to the printer.
Note that when you configure the Imac and printer this way no other network devices will be able to print

  • Uninstall a java application

I developed an application called Broadcast. To install this developed broadcast application i developed a setup application .Now i am in a position to develop an uninstall setup. i developed an uninstall setup application and i converted it into JAR file(uninstall.jar). Now when u install broadcast application using setup application, a folder will be created in the installed directory. Now the JAR file which i created to uninstall broadcast application is also placed within the same folder. Now when u uninstall the broadcast application using uninstall.JAR which is in the broadcast application folder , there is a problem. i,e i can't delete the folder because the uninstall.jar which is inside the folder is currently running...How to get rid of this?
    Regards,
    Deepak

I also encounter this problem. I create an uninstal program, and after uninstall, I can't remove application folder, even it is empty.
I thought that because this folder is work folder for uninstall program, I use File.deleteOnExit to remove uninstall programs, but it could not remove the empty folder! I don't know, maybe JVM should process all deleteOnExit command one by one as the order of send out.
Hope some one can give us the answer!
    Great thanks!

  • Send Query Results to Application server in CSV format

    HI All,
I need to schedule a query on a regular basis and send the results to Apllication server in csv format(rows will be more than 65,000).
I tried RSCRM_BAPI transaction but i think it has lot of restrictions like, cannot use texts, calculated keyfigures, etc. so cannot use this.
cannot use Infospoke since there are calculated keyfigures in the query.
Information Broadcasting is not setup in my system
Tried WRITEQUERY but it only send the results to Spool, special handling is needed to move the data from spool to Appl. server.
is there any other way i can achive this, is it even possible?
    Thanks,
    S.B.

I dont know if this helps.
1)You can save the file as a normal CSV file on your desktop.
    2) and Based on the ABAP code using ( OPEN DATASET and CLOSE DATASET  statements) You can put your file into the application server
but i am not sure if you can use this methodilogy for an automated and continous process

  • Transport of texts

    Hi people,
in the layout of my component I have texts that I input directly in the 'text' property of the UI element.
Somebody transported the component to Production environment, and the texts were still ok.
Then I modified some texts in Development, transported the request into Production, and when I execute
I see the old texts.  And even more strange, if I navigate the UI structure what I see is the correct text !!!
    Anybody can help ? thanks

    Hi Joan,
Please check if the URL has this parameter "sap-wd-configId" and any value is supplied.
If any value is supplied, then user is running application with that configuration.
The configuration can only be modified to affect all users in Configuration editor. This can launched using SE80.
Customization can be done by passing the URL parameter sap-config-mode = X or sap-config-mode = config for ALVs
Users (administrator) with proper authorization can setup this customization.
Finally personalization, the end user can right click and change. I dont think text data can be changed using personalization.
So please check if the app. is running using configuration or customization changes are done by going in config mode (sap-config-mode = X or sap-config-mode = config for ALVs)
If you want to restrict the authorization, corresponding Auth. objects has to be modified.

  • Disabling TAB key for specific users

    Good day,
I am new to SAPand the company will start pretty soon using SAP B1 8.8. We are facing the problem of disabling the TAB key function which give access to a complete list of some tables (in the particular case of financials, all G/L accounts) which is considered confidential and should not be available to any employee. Our actual SAP consultant says that the only solution is to make a special chargeable modification to standard SAP. I find it strange that SAP gives such an open an uncontrolled access to such vital information of the company. I am sure some one on this forum will give me a practical, elegant solution built in SAP authorization mecanism.

    Hello,
Yes we can do it by Addional authorization
You can do it by Additional Authorization windows using by Form ID.
and then goto general authorization select Additinal Athorization as (No authorization) for selected user.
now selected user can not open Buisness partner on any transaction form .
then Make a Query for selected BP for selected User and set in on that field .
    1>
First make new Authorization in Additional Authorization Creator window.
And select Edit button fill 10001 as form ID.
    OK
    2 >
Goto General Authorization select perticular user and select same Subject which was created in Additional Authorization window setup. and give no authorization for selected user. ok
3.Make a FMS from OCRD ,but first you should make filter in master for selected user in SAP. so with the help of we can filetr the record on transaction .
4.After make FMS with then help of UDF set it in where you want .
Now Your system is ready for your client requirement.
