Browser prompting for update. Already on 7u45

I just got thrown into being the one to handle Java updates were I work when 7u45 came out so I am completely new to this world. We use static installs and then run uninstall scripts remotely. Here is the command we use for all of our Java installs.
"Java install file" /s /norestart /L c:\windows\temp\java7U45.log IEXPLORER=1 MOZILLA=1 ADDLOCAL=ALL JAVAUPDATE=0 JU=0 AUTOUPDATECHECK=0 JQS=0 SYSTRAY=0 EULA=0 STATIC=1
The 7u45 install works great until the uninstall of 25 (the last verision we updated to) runs:
msiexec.exe /x {26A24AE4-039D-4CA4-87B4-2F83217025FF} /qn/s /norestart
msiexec.exe /x {26A24AE4-039D-4CA4-87B4-2F83217025F0} /qn/s /norestart
After this is ran I get a pop-up requesting to update to the latest version of which we clearly have. If I hit "later" everything else works perfectly. I know that it is using 7u45 correctly as one of our programs breaks with 7u25. Also under IE tools/advanced it lists "Use JRE 1.7.0_25 for <applet>. I can fix this erroneous error by completely uninstalling/reinstalling 7u45 on individual computers but can't do this company wide. This error started on 11/15/2013 which I understand is the expiration of 7u25 and is happening on Windows XP and 7. Any help or ideas would be much appreciated.

I have found the solution and figured I would post it in case any one else has the same/simaliar issue. The problem was in a few reg keys. By running the following in a .reg file it repaired the problem for a win 7 machine:

  • Unable to stop Flashplayer 11.5 from prompting for update

Hi, I support about 3000 machines worldwide.  We use Windows 7 x64, with IE10.  In my base image I Installed Flashplayer ActiveX 11.5.502.146, using the full EXE installer and the switches -install -au2 (i do not want any updates done or users to get any prompts for updates).  The MMS.cfg created using these switches shows 2 lines:
    AutoUpdateDisable=1
    SilentAutoUpdateEnable=0
and is located in the x64 path c:\windows\syswow64\macromed\flash
In the Flash Player settings manager, the advanced tab shows the radio button selection "Never check for updates (not recommended) is selected (this is greyed out because all of our users run under standard user permissions). Installation runs fine and the product works fine in IE, the problem I have is that my users are still prompted by the Update Adobe Flashplayer message on a weekly basis.
I looked at the admin guide for 11.5, and I believe my settings are right.  Why am I still getting this prompt?  Does mms.cfg have to be in the x86 path as well?  Is there something with standard user rights as it relates to adobe updates?  Should I install this from the MSI?
I can't update to 11.7 right now as we are getting ready to start rolling out my image and don't want to make changes at this time.   I'm looking for any input on what I may be doing wrong that I continue to see update prompts.  Thanks in advance for any information, and I'd be happy to provide additional info if I left out something.

  • Q5 prompts for update 10.3 but still claims 10.2 is "latest version"

So, I have a Q5, and it has been a bit of a hazzle from day one.
I really looked forward to the update of the software to 10.3, because I hoped it would solve some of my issues with this phone. And I finally got the prompt today in the Hub, that "a new update is available".
But when I tried to update the phone from the phone itself, it didn´t find any updates. I go to Softwareupdates in my System Settings menu, and click the "check for updates"-button. I get a message in return that claims I "have the latest version" and it says 10.2.1.
I connect with Link, and click on Softwareupdates here.
Same message. I still have the latest version, and it still says 10.2.1.
Then I try (while still connected to Link) to use my browser to go to http://www.blackberry.com/update. Browser gives me the answer that "the page could not load due to too many redirections" (or something like that), indicating that the page loads in loops.
I´ve checked my settings in the browser, it allows everything necessary for the page to load, and every other page loads perfectly. But not the udate-page on BB.
I´ve also tried two other browsers, all with settings properly set. Get the same message.
So; what do I do?? How do I update my Q5?

I still haven´t found a solution to this problem. And my Q5 still won´t update its software.
I´m stuck on 10.2.1, and it continues to insist that I´ve got "the lates software available".
Why did the notification in my Hub about a new update, disappear? I can´t find it anywhere.
Using Link to update doesn´t work either.
And using BB´s own webpage for updates doesn´t work either. Same error message pops up that came last time I tried.
Nothing works to get this update, and I´m pretty frustrated.

  • Gutterball Bowling Game Keeps Prompting For Update Every Week

    Hey Adobe,
I am running Firefox 16 with Adobe Shockwave Player, the latest version.  About every 7 days, I get a prompt to update Shockwave Player when I play Gutterball 3D at this site:
    http://www.shockwave.com/contentPlay/shockwave.jsp?id=gutterball&refCode=&brand=ag
There is no evidence of virues or malware on my computer and my Windows XP is up-to-date.  Both Shockwave Player and Flash Player are the latest versions, so I don't know if it is something with the game or a bug.  Feel free to test.  Thanks!

    Hi,
As per the information and details provided by you, to solve the Outlook 2010 password problem, please follow these steps: -
    Firstly, you try to
    change the profile.
Open Control panel/Mail/Select the profile and click Properties.
Select the mailbox and click the
    Change button.
When inside the profile you will see tabs at top for
    connection and security.
Please make sure you have selected
Negotiate authentication, and have unchecked the box that states
    Always prompt for login credentials.
Then check if you are using
HTTP to connect with exchange, if so uncheck this and apply the changes.
Close Outlook if open and reopen Outlook.
I hope this information will be helpful for you.
    Thanks and regards
    Shweta@G
    Hi Goyal,
Thank you very much for your reply. The Outlook settings are the same as you described. We do use HTTP to connect to Exchange. I unchecked it and see what happens tomorrow. but just FYI. All Outlook has the same settings with HTTP connection checked. Only
two specific accounts have the credential issue.
    Will update you tomorrow.
    Thanks,

  • Prompted for update but no update available

Turned on my laptop this morning and a box came up saying there was a newer version of Skype.  I clicked on not now and opened up Skype.  When to check for update and it said that I had the latest.  Was the popup box a version of that virus going around acting like it is a valid update?  I think that I last heard of it taking the form of an Adobe update.

6.20 is NOT the latest version. The currently latest version is 6.21.
You cannot rely on Check for Updates. It can take some time before this option starts working in the "next-last" version. I'm not saying that this is right, but it is how this works now in Skype.

  • Prompted for updates I already have?

Flash Player Version: 11.7.700.202 (persistent through several previous updates)
    OS: Windows 7, 64 bit
    Browser: Internet Explorer
Often videos and ads will stops, replaced with a grey and white exclamation mark, and eventually a notice that I need to update flash player. Clicking on them brings me to an update page, but I often find that it's for the update I already have when I check which version I have under programs on my computer. It can usually be circumvented by closing all the Internet Explorer tabs and reopening them, but it's been a significant disruption, and I was wondering if there was a way to avoid it. It seems to sometimes be caused by pages with lots of ads loading at once, but isn't solved until I've closed every tab at once (i.e. if I leave one open, then open a new one the problem persists), and sometimes takes multiple tries. I can't remember if attempting to update when I already have the update works.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Go to Settings.iTunes and APp Store and sign out and sing back in
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

  • Reader 11 - Disable prompt for updates when installing?

I have used the Customization Wizard to customize all of our Acrobat 8,9,10,11 installs of both Pro and Std without any problems.  But when I customize the Reader 11 install so that it does not download updates, the setup program still prompts me with the question about updating.  I have tried 11.0.0 and 11.0.2 with similar behavior and would like to make sure the installs are consistent across the organization by not prompting the installer with this question.  (Yes, I have verified the Disable Product Updates is checked.)
How can I banish this dialog from the Reader install?

I would ask why you need to allow installation in UI mode, but assume that you have valid reasons for that.
Since you are using CW, you can open Direct Edit view in CW, go to InstallUISequence table, find SelectARMMode record and change it's condition to be NEVER

  • Prompting on updates already installed

When I installed 7.1.1 yesterday, iTunes presented updates for 5 of my apps. These were already updated on the phone, but iTunes didn't pick them up. So I updated from iTunes. Today it is telling me I have the same updated all over again. The version numbers are the same as I already have.
Come on Apple. Test something before you release it.

You can only update with the Apple ID those apps are purchased with. It is not transfable.
Suggest you download them with your own Apple ID.

  • Browser prompts for LDAP password when trying to log into portal

We migrated some portals,  after the migration everything works fine for the portals, you can log in with your LDAP id and all authorization are working correctly.   The only issue is, it prompts you to enter your password.  It's using the password for the LDAP, but the old system didn't.    The browsers are setup correctly?   Any ideals.
The new servers are windows 2008 R3.   The old servers were Windows 2003?  The LDAP server's have not changed.

It sounds like the SPNego login Module is failing. You will get a better idea of the issue if you reproduce the logon scenarion while running a webdiagtool trace. You can follow note 1045019 for this.

  • Browser prompting for username and password to access enterprise manager.

I've just installed Internet Directory 10.1.4.0.1 and am having trouble connecting to Application Server Console in Enterprise Manager.
When I try to go to the url http://localhost:18101, a dialog pops up asking for a username and password. In firefox it says 'Enter username and password for "enterprise-manager" at http://localhost:18101'. IE6 just says, 'enterprise-manager'. I have tried various sets of credentials for this - my network userid and password; and ias_admin, orcladmin, sys and sysman, all with the passwords I specified at install time. None of these work. If I cancel the dialog box I get a '401 Unauthorised' page. I'm sure this is coming from apache and is basic web page authentication, and not an enterprise manager login.
Has any one seen this before?
I can connect through directory manager, and I can connect to the database console for the metadata repository.
emctl status iasconsole shows that it is running.

  • IMPORTANT: SQL Developer 1.2.1 Check For Updates Notice

    Please note:
The Check For Updates notification yesterday and today (16th or 17th Aug) included a file with a number mismatch. This caused SQL Developer to continue to prompt for new Updates. This is also why a new installation of SQL Developer 1.2.1.32.00 prompted for Updates. This error has been repaired. You can now use Check for Updates to update from SQL Developer 1.2 to 1.2.1.
It remains true that after you have run Check for Updates that you must do a second restart. This is related to the framework and is a known issue.Without the second restart you will not be able to invoke the SQL Worksheet.
We have identified 2 errors that will be addressed, with new updates sent out using Check for Updates as soon as we can. These two errors are that reports with Charts do not currently work, and non-privileged users can't view tables.

    Hello Sue,
I just proceeded the update on my working machine too.
The version number what I talked about (on this machine) was 1.1.2.25 before and still is the same after the update.
(This is different from my home machine.)
By the way - I had to restart SQL Dev two times before it realized, that it already has the latest updates. One restart still seems to be not enough.
Yes I know that all the extensions has it's own versions.
But for me the question remains: What is the version info under "Help-> About" (in my case 1.1.0.21.) good for? If this number has a meaning - what is it? and if it has no meaning (and only the version number of every single extension is interesting) why does these version number exist at all?
You said: until then I recommend you use the full download.
Question: Is it guarantied, that (at any time) the full download always has all latest extensions ?
    Regards
    Andre
