Browser Push Web Page Refresh Issue

When we are viewing a pushed web page on our BB 8830 device and that page is refreshed in the background by a seamless push content action from the BES the currently displayed page does Not refresh to display the updated content. This is the problem. We have to exit the web page and re-open the page again in order to view the updates. This behavior is quite different from other push enabled applications on the BB 8830 device, for example the Outlook application that one does not have to exit in order to see new items dynamically appearing in the displayed list of items. Are there any options to enable the automatic refresh of the currently visible web page? We have enabled JavaScript and all other browser options.

1. I am not sure whether it is the problem of the graphic hardware, relevant softwares or the system itself.
2. I am not sure whether browsing a webpage with a lot pictures would make the graphic hardware, or other hardwares if possible, massively burdened and then just crash.
3. Or if possible, is the reason that the heat dissipation doesn't work well?
I am looking forward to any replies that might be helpful. Really appreciated.

it could be heat, not enough RAM, but you don't tell us enough.
There is no reason to assume this is anything other than running Windows natively btw.
Browser of course matters probably the most.
I like IE10 now, but use to use FF until recently. I'd like Chrome except for a few concerns I have over using it, it can eat up a lot of RAM and it builds up HUGE disk cache if you don't clear history and cache on exit and run CCleaner regularly ( good for all browsers )
So assuming 64-bit and 4GB or more and core i5 or better...
Also make sure Wiindow has 10GB of free space or more.
Biggest concern is what happens afterwards and whether you have run a check of your hard drive (chkdsk on startup) or if the problem cascades and gets progressively worse on top of the first - like do you have to do hard restart or able to bring up Task Mgr and kill or better yet, Resource Mgr and see if you have any thread locks.
Safari is not well versed in multithreading and handling what you want to do and are doing. IE9 isi usually good but I found it could not handle a lot of tumblr photo streams and sites. Try Chrome. With Firefox, use noscript, blashblock and see how it goes.

Trouble access image files (.tif) in browser from web page

Interesting issue. I have a database storing file locations
for some images in the .tif format. I then created my web page and
have a link that uses the value in the database. when i click on
it, i get the red x. however, if I copy and paste the link into my
browser, the images pops up as it should. Am I missing something
here?

I don't think browsers can display TIFF files unless they
have a plug
in.... tiff images are way too big (file size) to be using in
a webpage

Private browsing and web page suddenly turn non responsive, new website won't load ?

Issue with Private Browsing in FireFox 5.0
Watching a video, reading or just simply surfing the web and sometimes the issue occur

Solution: Close Firefox, turn off private browsing

Web page refreshes but loses page position

When reading a web page in Firefox 13.01, the web page may automatically refresh. When it does so it returns to the top of the page, not to where I was reading. I find Chrome does return to where I was reading, but not Firefox. How can I set Firefox so it returns to the place where I was reading?

PDF in browser: launch web page in new window/tab

Good morning all,
Our forms use the hyperlink functionality and the desired result is to have the web page launch in a new browser window, or tab, when viewing the PDF in a browser. When the web page opens in the same window, the form data is lost after hitting the back button to return to the form content.
The current alternative is to use xfa.host.launchURL() function however we're wondering if there is a Preference setting in Reader we could enable/disable instead. Most of the links are text embedded in paragraph so hyperlinks work and look really good.
Changing the internet options of the browser is not an option for us.
Also looked at Reader's Edit | Preferences | Documents | Open Cross-document Links in Same Window which appears quite promising based on the Help's description:
Open Cross-document Links In Same Window
Closes the current document and opens the document being linked to in the same window, minimizing the number of windows open. If the document being linked to is already open in another window, the current document is not closed when you click a link to the open document. If you do not select this option, a new window opens each time you click a link to a different document.
But for some reason I can't explain, the web page still opens in the same window after disabling the cross-document option. So maybe I should rephrase my question and ask if someone knows any reason why option doesn't work?

Hi Hélène,
I don't know of any option to force hyperlink behaviour when the form is opened in a browser.
Have a look at George's suggestion to use a button without fill or border over the text: http://forums.adobe.com/message/1342426#1342426
It is a bit of double handling and you need to maintain the button in the correct position. However it does give you greater control in forcing a new browser window/tab.
The open cross-documents preference didn't work for us either.
When testing forms here we see a big difference in behaviour between different browsers and OS. So while you may get a hyperlink working in IE, the same solution may not work in other browsers. On balance I think overlaying a button would be the most robust.

Std Page refresh issue

Hi,
On a standard page, I have added a column of itemtype link to a table through personalization, which shows status.
On click of link, I'm calling a custom read only page (has its own custom AM and VO) in a new window. Its a simple readonly table with data from custom VO.
Problem is after clicking on the link and new window opens, if i do any action on standard page, control goes to standard process request and std page gets refreshed.
How can i avoid this, i dont want std page to be refreshed.
In personalization, i have given link item's destination uri as
OA.jsp?page=/xxx/oracle/apps/ar/irec/accountDetails/webui/xxstatusHistPG&invNum={@TrxNumber}&retainAM=Y
I tried retainAM=N as well as removing that parameter but still same issue.

There is partial page refresh on std page, in extended CO PR, I have added event on column amount (to do validation on tab out)
as well as on select check box (it defaults rem amount into pay amount). For link, I'm opening new page by setting destination URL property in link item properties.
I cannot code for parameter based pop-up as Im in 11.5.10 and using JDeveloper 9.0.3 (added screen behaviour below)

I tried the approach you suggested. Based on session parameter, Im controlling the code in std extended CO PR.
It worked, I mean at least it doesn't error out now like before with navigation error. However it refreshes the page as control went to PR.
I entered some amount in amount text field, and then clicked on "partially paid' link. it opens a custom page in new window.
after that if i select any other record using check box, it goes to PR and refreshes the page. Is it possible to avoid this.

Its a payment screen, where i can pay multiple invoices. added select check box for the same. added below code on check box to capture event in PFR and default remaining amt to pay amount text field. i also have payment status link as column in the same table. on click of it i open a new custom window to show transaction details.
if i select some invoices and modify amounts, and then if i click on status link just to see the status before clicking on pay button, this issue happens. as page refreshes on any action, all my modifications are gone.
Select checkbox has been added using personlization and hence has to set set fire action in PR.

Recently, however, when choosing Firefox to Preview in DW, FF merely opens to my home page. Once opened, FF will not accept/preview any files from Dreamweaver, regardless of how many times I choose to Preview. Safari and others - when selected as the preview browser - display them perfectly.

Maintaining session across multiple browser windows and page refreshes

We're currently developing a Flex application with a couple of session-related requirements that we're not sure how to solve. Before we jump in and maybe go about things in the wrong way, I thought I'd post and see if anyone here knows of some elegant solutions!
Currently, when our Flex app starts the user is presented with a log-in screen which authenticates the user against our server. Client-server communication is done through BlazeDS.
Our first requirement is the ability to open a new browser window from Actionscript - this window will load a pdf document. The servlet that serves this pdf should deny the request if the user is not already logged in. The only way we can see to do this so far is to open the pdf url using navigateToUrl() with the '_blank' target, passing a jsessionid token as a url parameter. Is there a better way to preserve session state when opening a new window?
The second requirement is to preserve some application and session across browser refreshes. Our Flex app has several screens that the user can tab between. If the user hits F5 or the refresh button in their browser, we'd like the app to return to the same screen after the refresh. I've been looking into using BrowserManager to add a fragment such as #screen=2 to the url, but of course we only want the app to display screen 2 if the user has already authenticated with the server. Is there a way to reuse the user's existing session credentials after a page refresh?
Many thanks in advance for any advice anyone can offer on this. It could very well be that we're missing something about how BlazeDS uses / exposes session credentials that would make all of this easier to implement than we currently realise!

We use javascript to pass values between a 'data look up' window and the originating Servlet. If this is of any use, I can send you some examples.

Page Refresh Issue in JSF

Here's the "setup" :-
Page Refresh in JSF Application
When a user hits refresh, the behavior is different depending on if the current page was loaded via GET(outputLink) or POST(commandLink/commandButton).
If a GET, the browser simply re-asks for the page re-using the current URL.
But If a POST, the user is asked, usually, if they want to re-submit their data to the server.
The resubmitting of data happens for the last request generated by the POST method (correct me if i am wrong here)
How can one avoid doing this?

I tried putting it in my navigational rule, only to get the error "Page could not be found. Internal Server Error 500"

Database exception when browse a web page from IIS

I have developed a web application accessing data in Oracle Database.
When I run on Visual Studio 10, anything is working fine.
When I browse on Server (IIS), it has exception : Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleException: ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error

Optional. If Java is used, download the JDBC InstantClient zip and unzip into the same folder.

Safari: 27 min for loading Web page (JavaScript issue)

I have Safari running on Mac OS 10.7.1 (MacBook Pro). It works fine, except for some Web pages. For example, <http://www.heise.de/newsticker/meldung/Erster-Kratzer-fuer-Kryptoalgorithmus-AES -1324532.html> gets loaded partly, then it takes minutes to have it completely on my screen (even the text).
In order to depict it, I started the Web inspector and put a screenshot of it for download.
As you can see, there are some JavaScript parts that gets interpreted as streams. This is what causes Safari to show a high latancy, up to 7 minutes. The whole page mentioned above took 27.1 minutes to load. The actual problem is that some parts that apparently are required to complete the page are loaded after some latency.
Switching off Safari Extensions, clearing the cache, and temporarily removing files in "/Library/Internet Plug-Ins" and "~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins" did not show any effect.
On the other side, Firefox 6 (on the same machine) does not have this issue. Its web console complains about "illegal characters", but the page gets completely loaded within fractions of a second.
Any ideas?

The issue has been solved in the meanwhile. The problem was that I had NetBarrier X5 running in the background with Banners Filter switched on. Obviously this caused the massive delay in loading some Web pages with ads in it.

Sp 2010 web page dialog issue-appearing with master page

am opening a pop up which is a application page[_layouts folder] in a modal dialog box , with a label ; and this page has code behind also.
when i loaded this dialog box on a click of a link, it shows the site master page and ribbon.
i dont want to show the master page and ribbon etc.
can anyone tell what code i need to write so that it will open as a web page dialog without applying the site/application master page and ribbons

Browse local web pages

I am a member of a voluntary group that moves blood, platelets, plasma and other stuff around outside normal hours to local hospitals. It saves a huge amount of miles for the few duty drivers who can remain available for emergencies and, of course helps the hospitals. We have a simple web-site of only HTML pages with a button color changing JS which our members can download to their home computers for references on how to find the way in, where the blood banks are, that kind of stuff. From those using smartphones we have a request to get it working on them too. For - can I say it here? - Android, it seems like they just point to the index.html file and make it a bookmark in their browser, but is this something an iPhone or iPad can do? Is there anything that would make that work on a standard iPhone or iPad that would not require great in-depth knowledge or break the device? The issue is that we are often deep in hospitals with no wifi or 3G connection possible. Sorry not to know more, but I throw myself on your generosity and knowledge.
