Browser window maximize button disabled in IE but enabled in Mozilla

Hi,
There is contradictory behavior,if i launch an applet window it's maximization button hanging at the top right corner is disabled in IE but the same window if launched using Mozilla the maximization button is enabled and we are able to maximize the window too.
What could bet he reason and how we can resolve this to have the button enabled using IE too.Can I have solution

The code controlling the resize is something like below:

Setting resize as no works perfectly in windows platform (IE )but not in solaris (Mozilla).Can any one have solution why this is not working in Mozilla.

however, when "Personal Storage (My Folders and My Dashboard)" is granted, they are also allowed to modified their "My dashboard"s.
My goal is to only allow users to use their "My Briefing Books" but not allow them to use their "My dashboard"s.

You can create a javascript to window.open having toobar, menubar or statusbar=0. The page content can be customized per need. Call this javascript from a link or button click using javascript:popup_window();

Is there a way to disable plugins globally, but enable them on a per-site basis?

Is there a way in Firefox to globally disable plugins and allow only certain sites to run them (i.e., a whitelist)? I've tried working with CAPS, but it doesn't seem to be able to turn off <embed> or <object> tags, only certain aspects of JavaScript. I know about FlashBlock, but I've heard it's easy to circumvent and isn't meant for security. NoScript has this ability, and it's great for my own PC, but I'm looking for something more simple that I can use on the PCs of my friends and relatives.

No, not in the basic Firefox build, and I haven't seen an extension with those features that is simple enough for the "average user" to use.
Flashblock only blocks Flash, Shockwave, and Authorware. Plugins like Java, Silverlight, and other aren't blocked by Flashblock. There is one manual control extension for JavaScript, Java, Flash, and Silverlight - Quick Java - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1237/ - but there is no "whitelist", only toolbar /statusbar buttons to toggle those plugins on/off.
As you mentioned, NoScript has features to block specific plugins from running automatically, and also has a "whitelist" so those plugins will run automatically on "trusted" websites, but getting the NoScript "whitelist" set up is a continuing job. It can be a frustrating extension to use for even "above-average users".
I use NoScript on my Windows desktop PC's as it is intended to be used - allowing JavaScript per domain / website by "allowing" or "temporarily allowing", but on my Linux netbook ''(900MHz processor and only 1GB of RAM)'' I have it set to ''Allow Scripts Globally'', so I don't have to allow JavaScript for each domain on every website I visit. When I first got that netbook I ran for a few months without blocking anything, but after Firefox getting stalled by too many unnecessary plugin presentations I installed Flashblock. After a few weeks I realized that Flashblock wasn't blocking enough of the plugins that were causing problems, so I switched to NoScript with ''Allow Scripts Globally'' selected. IMO, Linux is much less of a target than Windows PC's are as far as exploits and Malware are concerned.

Disable Vertical scroll but enable Page down in Table control for BDC

In my 4.6C sysem , i had enabled Scroll bar in table control by populating TABC-lines = <No of records>...Then when i try to capture the BDC recording of this , then the scrolling event is not captured in BDC , as we all know.....
So i put few buttons on the application bar as NEXT PAGE, NEXT LINE , PREV PAGE n PREV LINE...and i did the scrolling by writing the code manually in PAI...and that is getting captured in BDC so my problem is partially solved...
Now as u see..i have default working Scroll bar on my T.C..also i have my buttons on the application bar....i want to get rid of the vertical scrolling....so now i am NOT populating the TABC-lines field...But as soon as i do this , my buttons stopped also working...Any idea how to get rid of this ?
In short when i don't write : TABC-lines = no_of_records .....to remove vertical scroling.......my manual scrolling mechanism also getting disabled..
Is it possible to remove only vertical scrolling ?

Disable Delete option but enable edit option for a content item?

Appreciate your input on this. The portal version being used here is 3.0.9.8.2.
I would like to have the following privileges setup for a content folder's items.
- one group can edit and delete items
- one group can edit but not delete items.
However looking at the access types available at the folder level - there are only "view only" , "edit style", "manage items", "own folder","create with approval".
The "manage" privilege is simply a catch all privilege. User can edit, checkin/out and also delete an item.
How do I prevent a user/group from deleting an item ? (or atleast disable the rendering of the 'X' delete icon?)
I did experiment with the audit option by enabling version control which is somewhat helpful in that I can preserve the older versions, but like above, I cannot enforce that.

but the above code dont have any effect on the list, I have still the Item with DELETE THIS LIST in the listsettings.

Disable array indicator but enable scroll bar ?

Dear All,
is there a way to disable an array without disabling the ability to scroll down with the mouse (scroll bar is also disabled if you choose disable in properties). The array indicator is clickable althoug not writable but causes confusion for the user...as if you can write something.

Making the button disabled in the pop up window

I have created a pop up with button type as buttons_yesno. The pop automatically creates two buttons YES and NO
The pop up window contains two fields - Manufacturer and Description as input fields.
The requirement i need is -> till the user enters the data into both the input field i wanted the yes button to be disabled.
i have done the below code for the pop up to appear.

When ever you create the popup, store the window reference globally.
Use the method - SET_BUTTON_ENABLED of if_wd_window based on the input field values.
Use the GET_ATTRIBUTE for that input field get the value into lv_value,
if lv_value eq initial.

Using web.show_document the first time makes new browser window lose focus

Hi,
In our application we use show_document(url, '_blank') to open our reports (as pdf) in a new window.
Our environment is Application Server 10g Release 2 with Forms 10g Release 2 and jinitiator 1.3.1.22.
The first time I call a report, the new browser window containing the pdf is shown but loses focus after about 1 second. The focus is then returned to the applet window. When calling a report again it always keeps the focus.
After closing the applet window and restarting the application, the same thing happens: first report called loses focus, all others keep the focus.
Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? We want the focus to stay on the new browser window every time...

Webdynpro for ABAP not closing browser window after click Exit

Hi Experts,
We come across a minor problem when executing a Webdynpro for ABAP on our Production Portal.
We have a "Exit" button which suppose to close the browser window with the webdynpro codes called but it failed to do so.
The execution steps of the Webdynpro app:
     Click "Exit"
     Click "No"
     Results message in the browser:
The code we use to exit and close the Web Dynpro application
* Code to close the application when the WebDynpro is executed
* as an independent application
* Also requires an Outbound Plug (GO_EXIT) in the main Window
data : lr_ref      type ref to ig_main_window.
lr_ref = wd_this->get_main_window_ctr( ).
lr_ref->fire_go_exit_plg( close_window = abap_true ).
What would be the issue causing this, the Webdynpro codes or Portal config?
Our systems are SAP NW 7.31 with:

According to your more info link, the check will return ABAP_TRUE as the webdynpro app is ran on Portal.
Sorry i should have mention that I got it working on our Dev & Test portal but now forgotten how i have done it, we now need it config for our production portal. I have vague memory collection that i config it somewhere on the portal, maybe one of the Application Modules in NWA?
Any advise, help, hints would be very much appreciated.

Issues showing PDF files in web-browser (Windows 7 x64, 32-bit version of AdobeReader X)

I'm not sure if this is the right way to share my experience, but at least I know Google will discover this thread eventually and maybe someone else will find what I have been looking for the past 3 hours
I'm deploying the 32-bit based AdobeReader X (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4950) to Windows7 32-bit and 64-bit based machines. This is a MSI deployement done through our Active Directory. Everything goes well - no errors. Except for the x64-based machines having trouble showing PDF-files in the web-browser.
I used Adobe Customization Wizard X to customize our MSI installation - this showed out to be the solution once again.
Common for the installation on Windows7 32-/64-bit were that the value in the registry database for HKCR\Software\Adobe\Acrobat\Exe (Default) was set to "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe". This is valid for the 32-bit installation as Program Files is situated in C:\Program Files, but since it's a 32-bit edition of AdobeReader that I'm installing on the 64-bit based system as well, it's installed in C:\Program Files (x86) and the reference in the registry database to "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" is therefore not valid - which explains why PDF files could not be displayed in the web browser. Changing the registry to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" solved it. Now this is a manual solution which might be useful on 1-2 machines but on a bigger scale it's not the right way to do it.
I could change it with a batch/vbs script but still this is only a solution of the symptom and not a solution to the core issue. I therefore focused on Adobe Customization Wizard X again.
The problem was easily solved. I opened the MSI file, loaded the transform file that I've made previously. Went to Registry > HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Software\Adobe\Acrobat\Exe . I then changed the (Default) value from "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" to "[INSTALLDIR]Reader\AcroRd32.exe", generated the MST file and replaced my current one for distribution. Problem solved! :-) The entry in the registry now shows : "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" and PDF files are open without any issues.
I hope someone can save a bit of time on this one.

I was able install and view the files in adobe reader 10.1.1 and in web browser window 7 64 bit machine. But when I go to Edit-preferences-internet and unchecking "display PDF in Browser" , I am not able to view the pdf files in ie 9 browser. I have used this javscript to check for pdf version.
Immediately after installing adobe--
when I do adobe test in ie 9---https://courses.worldcampus.psu.edu/public/diagnostics/Acrobat.html-- launches a test pdf file--Acro_Test.pdf
After unchecking-- it stays in the https://courses.worldcampus.psu.edu/public/diagnostics/Acrobat.html instead of showing test pdf file--Acro_Test.pdf
Tried to go back to "display PDF in Browser"--it is showing it is checked(eventhough I did not check it)
and in ie

I have a new browser window link that works in FF, but not in Safari or Crome. The link is found but does not do anything.

Alternatively, just use the FPM framework - it can detect that the application is in it's own browser window when launched from the portal and enables a "close" button.
You can also create a FPM close event which closes the application:
data: lo_fpm type ref to if_fpm.
lo_fpm = cl_fpm=>get_instance( ).
lo_fpm->RAISE_EVENT_BY_ID( cl_fpm_event=>gc_event_close ).
As this is handled within the framework you have access to the standard eventing and checking - so ensuring application is in a fit state to exit etc.

Multiple open browser windows

I have a link on one of my pages that opens a new browser
window when you click on it. Is there any way that I can fix it so
that when you click on a link in that open browser window, another
browser window will open?
I also tried to set up two open browser window behaviors off
of one link, but they're opening at the same time. Is there anyway
that I can have one open, then the other?
I'm really stumped so I hope this question makes sense to
someone.

Let me explain exactly what I'm trying to do, and then maybe
it will make more sense. My site has video on it, so instead of
having the video open up in the same browser and then forcing the
viewer to navigate back to the main page, I set it up so that when
they click on the link for the video, it opens up in a smaller
window. That way they can view the video without having to leave
the main site.
I think that's much easier than having a video open in the
same browser and then navigating back to the main site once the
video is over. My problem is that I need to have a title page for
the video or else I fear people won't understand it. So what I want
to do is have a person click on a link from my site that will open
a small browser with a title page, and then click from there to
start the video.
I personally think it would be better to have the video play
from the same window that the title page pops up in, if there's a
way to do it. I'd like to have a little link at the bottom of the
title page that people can click on that would start the video, but
I can't seem to figure out how to do that. Any suggestions?
