BT Cloud - such slow uploads

I recently upgraded to unlimited BB, partly because I wanted 50GB on BT Cloud. However it has taken literally weeks to upload about 20GB of files. I think this is just because uploads are very slow on regular broadband. Perhaps they are faster with fibre (not available in my area). I am quite patient. A less patient person might say that BT Cloud has been sold to regular BB customers, when it works so slowly as to be of little use.
Also my upload has now stalled "Uploading 1 of 52 files". I thought it might be one particular file causing the problem, but the program doesn't tell you which files it is currently uploading, or the order in which it uploads files.
Hoping for some improvements before too long.

Hi hatchett,
Thanks for posting. Are you having general upload issues or is it specific to Cloud? Can you try running a speed test here and post the results including further diagnostics? Give us as much detail as possible and I'm sure we'll be able to help.
Cheers

  • Verizon Cloud VERY slow uploads

Started using Verizon Cloud yesterday and found it to be VERY slow.  It say it will take more than 2 days to back up my 14 GB of music.  I've got it uploading using my Verizon DSL and it takes up most of my bandwidth in performing the upload.  Using home computers to view the web or downloading emails becomes EXTREMELY slow.
In addition, the backup of my contacts seems to be a complete failure.  It says it backed up only six of my contacts and then when I check to see which contacts it backed up, there is only one showing.  It also changed that one contact.  It is a complete failure in my opinion.
Is anybody else seeing these issues?
Verizon, are you aware of these problems?
For now I'm turning this useless service OFF!!!!

I have 32 GB of storage space with almost 6 GB free.  I've deleted everything that I deemed unnecessary as you suggested and restarted the backup process.  It still said it would take DAYS to backup my phone!!!  I tried to reply to your suggestions while the backup was running and it took MINUTES to upload these pages on my laptop.  I had to stop the backup process to be able to respond.
Just face it, Verizon Cloud is pretty much useless since it take so long to perform a reasonable backup.  As others suggested there are other cloud services that are MUCH better.
BTW ... you never addressed Verizon Cloud changing my contacts and not completely backing them up.  I'm not the first to see this behavior.  Others have commented on this bug.
As of now, I'm really sorry I changed plans to get more space on the worthless Verizon Cloud!!!

  • I have been experiencing excessively slow upload speeds.  like, what the malfunction.  does someone have an explanation for such?

when uploading a movie either to theater or to share, i have been experiencing excessively slow upload speeds, as well as varying upload time.
-excessively slow speeds, such as a 1-minute video requiring more than 1-hour 44-minutes to upload.
-varying upload speeds, as in the status circle will report an upload time of 1-hour, and moments later report an upload time of 4-hours.
also, when selecting "iMovie" as an application, it requires an excessive amount of time simply to load and appear on the monitor.

    Hi Julio,
We have removed the class-map for IPS and have done a clear local-host.
We have also changed the duplex (from Auto to full) and speed (from Auto to 100Mbps) on the outside interface.
it seemed the duplex we 've got was half when it was configured as Auto. We've asked our ISP to change in their side to full, but we've got half instead.
We did an upload test after those actions, the speed we got is 300KBps, it should be 8Mbps (download and upload).
when we send many upload at a same time, we can see from our monitoring tool that the bandwidth used is 8Mb.
We wonder we cannot get high speed when uploading a single file, the max speed is 300KBps.
Please, find below the output of

the 2710 collisions is on the outside interface (i think it was before changing duplex)

    CPU utilization for 5 seconds = 2%; 1 minute: 1%; 5 minutes: 1%
when we plug a computer directly to the ISP device (IDU), the speed is high (about 650KBps).

  • Slow Uploads to Azure Storage

We've just started using Azure Storage for backups.  Using both Veeam Cloud edition to connect to Azure as well as the Azure Throughput Analyzer, we've only seeing 250-500 kb/sec upload.  Our Internet connection is a 20 megabit connection with
less than half in use.  We've also ruled out saturated switch ports on the internal side of the network.  Downloading a file from Azure that we've upload also only downloads at a few hundred kb/sec.
The Throughput Analyzer reports an upload of 1.6 megabit.  It reports the same thing when off our business network and from my home cable connection.  I'm thinking I'm being throttled on the Azure side of the connection?  Is there any way
to check or confirm that?  We just moved from the free trial to Pay-As-You-Go thinking that would remove any bandwidth limits that may be imposted on the free trial, but so far that doesn't seem to have made any different.  Also found out the paid
support is separate from paying for Azure....so here I am in forums.  Any ideas?  :-)

    Hi,
    Thanks for your post.
Base on my experience, it is a lots of reason about slow uploaded or downloaded to azure storage, such as network, network provider and so on. So MS didn't have any SLA about the upload or download speed. I recommend you could view the azure
speed form this websites (http://azurespeedtest.azurewebsites.net/), it shows the blob Storage Latency in every Data Center. And you could see this

  • Painfully slow uploads

Though the DPS Status page has no notices, I'm experiencing extremely slow upload times. Last time I updated a folio it took about 15 minutes (the folio was aobut 30MB). My internet speeds aren't wonderful (50 down 11 up) but that's average for me. These slower uploads have been an issue since last night around 7PM PDT.

thank you, we did that this morning. The gentlemen kindly exported and sent me a link to the file. However i think file was located on same server as that still took an age to download. Thought it may be our bandwidth but we can download other files such as yousendit, wetransfer etc without problem
Have just tried a second app export now and having same problem, so have now opened a support ticket again and am currently trying to resolve problem.

  • Slow Upload / ADSL 2+ Unavailable

I have a few issues with my current BT ADSL connection, the primary being my relatively slow upload speed. It also seems to become unstable on occasion.
The router is a Netgear DGND3700v2, and syncs at first at a little over 400kbps upload. This usually then disconnects and reconnects at 128kbps - 256kbps, and even at these speeds it still occasionally disconnects.
If I try and force on ADSL 2 or 2+ the router also fails to connect entirely, I presume due to my extremely high line attenuation? (21CN, ADSL Max etc. are all enabled on my exchange according to this page, however I also live an insane distance from it (3km+)
The stats provided by my router are below:
    ADSL Link
    Downstream
    Upstream
    Link Rate
    1888 Kbps
    256 Kbps
    Line Attenuation
    61.0 dB
    31.5 dB
    Noise Margin
    9.9 dB
    7.0 dB
Given the extremely high values for line attenuation, and low amount of fluctuation, I'm guessing they may actually be slightly higher but this is the highest my router will report. On the quiet line test I can however hear pretty much nothing, maybe a very slight humm if I really strain, which is likely the phone.
According to the BT Wholesale speed test, the IP Profile for my line is 0.45kbps upload, the same speed it always initially connects at. This is pretty terrible, but I could live with it, does anyone have any ideas as to why it would be disconnecting at this speed?
And just for clarification, download is not an issue for me. I simply need the upload speed to be ~400k as a minimum for work, and for the connection to be stable. If anyone knows of anything that could be causing such terrible line attenuation that would be great.
Am I correct in thinking these kind of values are pretty much as bad as they come? Or why my closest exchange is 4km away? This surprised me, as I live in a fairly urban area.

  • Macbook pro: Extremely slow upload speed

    Hi,
I know this question has beed raised many times before me, seemingly from hundreds or thousands of users, but none of the threads I have found has lead to any solution.
My new Macbook Pro (15 inch), using Lion 10.7.3, is simply unable to obtain anything but an extremely slow upload speed, when using Wifi. I am using an Apple Airpor Extreme wifi device. My work PC, my older Macbook Pro (13 inch), all tablets and telephones etc hooks up to the same Wifi device and obtain all the speed they should, but my new Macbook Pro is sloooooooooooowwwww and sometimes cannot even initiated an uload speedtest at i.a. www.speedtest.net.
As mentioned, I am aware that there are plenty of threads on this, but I am not aware of any that provides a solution.
Is there a solution or is my new Macbook nothing but crAplle?
    Best regards,
    n

My subscription is 10 Mbps downloadand 2 Mbps download. upload
I get that (10/2 Mbps) on all other devices, other than my new Macbook Pro.
On my new Macbook pro I get 10 Mbps download, but only from 0 to 25 Kbps upload.

  • Extreme slow upload speed in Dallas area

    Hello
Something happened to my upload speed last Thursday, it has dropped considerably connecting to most servers making many sites very sluggish. I have the hardest time just attaching a file in Gmail and the gmail chat keeps saying 'unable to connect'. Using FTP for my work is almost impossible. It's takes me 5-10 tries to upload a file that's not even 50KB.
I've called Verizon tech support and went through different diagnostics and then they sent a new router, which still didn't help. Here's what I concluded so far:
    It's not the router
It's not the computer since it happens on every machine
It's not the wiring since I can get good speed test connecting to some servers.
It's not the servers that i'm connecting to; everything works when i'm at work or on the phone.
I have 15/5, I've attached some speed test results.
Verizon's own speed test page even timed our during upload, which was stuck under 0.5 when it was about to finish.
Anyone else experiencing this? Verizon say my issue is currently with the engineers, but I have no idea how long that wait to be.
    Thank you

Is there any Verizon representative that can escalate my issue?
Basically a tech came last Saturday and wasn't able to figure out what was wrong and left and closed my ticket. Whenever I call back now they're just telling me it's my computer, which is completely FALSE. All my 5-6 computer just doesn't happen to have slow upload speed of the sudden and require modification to RWin buffer as the suggested by the on-site tech. Verizon phone support bluntly told me they can't do anything further and would charge me for coming out again to replicate my issue.
Things the tech have already tried:
-Run Fios Optimizer multiple times on multiple computers.
    -Replaced router
    -Replaced ONT
    -Rebooted PON card
Upload speed still sporadic, works perfect on some speedtests, but it's less than 0.5MB on many servers including Verizon's very own local speedtest. Gmail and any google site request is constantly slow. This site is slow and often times out. FTP to my own site is almost impossible if I want to upload a file that's bigger than 100kb.
I'm extremely frustrated.... There are reports of same exact issues in other thread, one seems to be fixed. Is there any way Verizon can look at that and apply it here?

  • Very slow upload speed via infinity 2 (business) u...

Very slow upload speed via infinity 2 (business) unlimited after phone line fix (street cabinet) ?
Had my line fixed today by engineer (no dial tone).
Download rate near normal but upload = 0.73Mbps!?
I reset modem and router after he left and appreciate my profile is probably in need of some TLC after a weeks line fault, but is this normal in this situation? I heard it can take some time to reprofile my line and before it was fixed it was even worse at 0.10Mbps
Just seems very low considered the line is now operational again.

48Hrs+ on from residential line reconnection my business infinity 2 broadband upload speed is now approaching normal speed levels.
What a 10 days that was all because some ass disturbed the cabling in the street cabinet!
Yes I'm aware I have business broadband and am talking about it in a residential based forum, but my actual phone line is still residential that it is supplied over and the business broadband product is much the same animal as that supplied to residential customers i.e. Infinity 2 Unlimited. Only the mail and option of static i.p. appear different - that is all.
    Jeez.

  • Slow upload to disk, but download is fine?

Is anyone else seeing significantly slowed uploads to Airport Disks? Like on 5GHz, 802.11n, with 7.2.1 and 10.5.2 I'm getting approx. 1MB/s ... whereas with downloads I am seeing 4-8MB/s. I recently replaced the disk, so not sure if something is screwy there - I'll connect the old one and give it a try this weekend.
I was started seeing this problem with 7.2 firmware, too - which is why I tried upgrading to 7.2.1 again (downgraded to 7.2 a few months ago to get more stable disk behavior).
Transferring from 802.11n (leopard) to 802.11n (tiger) is faster than to the Airport Disk, but also not nearly as fast as it used to be ... I'm seeing maybe 2.2MB/s - but I've easily seen 8+MB/s doing a system-to-system transfer between these two exact systems.
Using WPA2 security, but that's been enabled since I've had the AEBS (802.11n).
Not sure if this is only since 10.5.2, or if it was in 10.5.1 as well ... seems like it was more recent than upgrading to 10.5.1 (I've only recently noticed this slowdown, and 10.5.1 has been out for a while).
    Cheers,

I have three computers on a AEBS, iMac 2.4 802.11N, MacBook 2.2 802.11N and an old Ti Book 400 with a Belkin USB wireless modem 802.11G. While trying to download the OSX 10.5.2 combo 343 megs the other day, I noticed that it was going to take 14 hours on my IMac 802.11N and when I checked out the TI book using Speed download, it was going to take 1 hour 20 mins for 340 meg file. The upgrade was downloading at 85 kbps on the Ti Book and 6 kbps on the iMac 802.11N I downloaded it on the Ti Book and indeed it took just less than two hours. I tried downloading the 10.5.2 on the iMac twice and it would get to 289 megs both times and quit after an all night run.
Must be set up wrong or the Belkin USB wireless device is a super piece of equipment. Any one seen this problem?

  • Exchange 2013 - outlook in LAN environment very slow upload but fast download - not using 'use cached exchange mode'

    Hi,
I have Exchange 2013 setup in a new environment (no migration) and it is working great except I just realized there is a big problem.
    I notice the following
    Problem 1:
Outlook 2010 with sp2 with cached exchange mode on: when I import the pst into outlook, it imports fine but the sync is extremely slow. It uploads to the Exchange 2013 mail server at 20-70KB/sec (bytes) via LAN.
    Problem 2:
Outlook 2010 with sp2 with cached exchange mode off: when I import the pst into outlook, it imports extremely slow. It uploads to the Exchange 2013 mail server at 20-70KB/sec (bytes) via LAN.
    More info:
-user1 has 1GB of mail and when setting up the user on a new pc with outlook with cached exchange mode on, it downloads the mail very fast. It downloads at 40-80 Mbps/sec (bits).
    -I have Exchange 2013 with CU3 with win2k12 non r2.
Why is the download so fast from Exchange 2013 but the upload to Exchange 2013 is extremely slow? How do I fix this?
    Thanks

    I did some more testing.
I setup a test environment with:
    -Exchange 2013 SP1 on win2k12 r2
    -Outlook 2010 SP2 on windows 7 sp1
    -Outlook 2010 SP2 on windows 8.1
    -Outlook 2013 SP1 on windows 8.1
Both windows 7 and windows 8.1 have the very slow upload issue to Exchange 2013. Windows 7 upload to Exchange 2013 is around 20-70KB/sec (bytes) via LAN. Windows 8.1 upload is a bit more responsive at around 500-600KB/sec (bytes) via LAN.
I changed the TcpAckFrequency to 1 for windows 7 and 8.1 and the problem went away. The upload on both Windows 7 and 8.1 was going at megabytes after the change.
I hope Microsoft fixes this soon.
PowerShell script to have this automated via GPO:
    http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/571571-outlook-slow-after-migrating-to-exchange-2013
    PowerShell Script:
    $strGUIDS=[array](Get-WmiObject win32_networkadapter -filter "netconnectionstatus = 2" | select -expand GUID)
    foreach ($strGUID in $strGUIDS) {New-ItemProperty -path HKLM:\System\CurrentControlSet\services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\$strGUID -propertytype DWORD -name TcpAckFrequency -value 1}

  • Best way to share files with slow upload

Hopefully this is the right place..
I have a large number of files (about 500mb each) that I need to send to the states (I'm in Ireland) but don't want to have to burn discs and post them etc.
As the title suggests I have a relatively slow upload speed. Anyone know what the best way to do this would be?
currently I am doing 7 files that total 2.3GB by iDisk and it says it will take 13 hours..

    Hi Alax
Just a thought if there's no rush, how about investing in a 4GB flash drive or 4GB SD Card if you have a card reader on both ends and send the data that way?
    Example's:

  • Slow uploads today

    Hi,
Anybody else seeing slow uploads this afternoon.
I'm getting about 1745kb/s from Michigan to Apple.
Running speed tests from here to other locations outside of California are averaging 4000kb/s
    Thanks,
    John

Well here we go again. This morning upload speeds at about 4000kb/s and now this afternoon there appears to be a bottleneck entering California from the midwest as I'm getting about 1250kb/s.
I'm using speedtest.net and testing against various servers between the midwest and California.
