What I do think is wrong is BT spying on our Internet surfing, correlating all our data (whether personnel or not) and selling it to the highest bidder. We do not know whether they give out personnel data we only have their word for it.
You would certainly get more money if your name and address was part of the package.
Barclays Bank has started doing the same with your data. They are correlating it and selling it to the highest bidder. Again they say no personnel data but who is checking, Barclays Bank.
In Barclays case they have issued new T's & C's to their customers and hidden it away in the small print. The leaflet they issued highlighting the main changes to the T's & C's did not identify this as being relevant to their customers.
BT were caught out once in the Phorm fiasco and backed off but I would not be surprised if they are now trying again.
It shows how much money this data is worth.

Passing of old and new trigger details to a generic function or procedure

Hi all.
I have a requirement to pass all the new and old column information from a database trigger ( for the purposes of this discussion, it will be a before row, insert, update and delete trigger) to a procedure/function ( either is fine).
My first thought was to create a separate routine for each table I wish to implement this in, which has a new and old input parameter for every column, however I realised I needed a solution where the called routine needs to be generic (because we'll let other developers call the same routine and we dont want them to have to create their own version for their table).
This presents a problem as every table I wish to implement this on could have a completely different amount of columns (and dataypes). The called routine will operate under a pragma autnonmous_transaction (as it will be performing commits) so I need to pass all the fields across in one go.
Another idea I had was to create an type object with (potentially) 300 generic fields that I assign the values to and pass that as a parameter, however I could never know before hand what datatypes are needed, CLOBS, DATE, VARCHAR, etc...
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can accomplish this with a generic routine?

Are you familiar with VARIANTs that are used in COM programming? A variant is a 16 byte object (record) type. 2 bytes contain the 'type' of the variant (int, char, etc) and other bytes contain data of that 'type'. It is a generic container that can hold any type of data.

Hierarchal Columns and Passing Values to a Detail Report (Action Links)

I have a question in OBIEE 11.1.1.5 around Hierarchal Columns and passing the values to a detail report. I have create a report with a Hierarchal column (Two Levels only), Month Column and a metric.
I created a detail report and see both columns used in the hierarchy to "is Prompted" as well as the Month column.
On the Summary report I put an Action Link on the Metric to navigate to this Detail Report. When I select the metric I see that the Month value gets passed to the Detail Report but none of the Hierarchal columns have been passed at all.
When I replace the hierarchal column with just the two columns, the values get passed fine.
Is this a known issue with Hierarchal columns? Is this functionality even available?

SplitApp: Navigating to detail and passing data

Dear Guru's,
I tried to create an Purchase Order Application with JS views and splitApp element within it. I created master and detail page within code and added them to splitApp, which went fine. I am able to pull PO header id's from gateway and show them through List element in master page.
But, i am finding issue, when i try to extract the selected header id from the list and try to pass them to show the item details in the detail page.
For such scenario, i am able to find sample code in XML. But, unable to get sample code's with respect to JS views.
Please help by posting some sample code's on how we should code in the controller page (to extract selected id through event) and how the detail page code should be. Here, the detail page is not created seperately. I have coded only through "new sap.m.page".

Thanks for your input. But, i am not able to get the path, since i mapped the list input with a set of array after extracting result array from model, like shown below. So, i am not able to get the sPath (I faced issue while trying to bind the data from GW to list with Path). I am new to UI5 and it will be helpful, if you can please let me know, how to find the path of specific field within extracted model and bind them to List as well.

Saving of user and pass gets a resounding F Grade.
To be brutally honest, if the programmers who wrote the code in question were working for me, they would now be fired.
I have little regard for such incompetence in this day and age. It has been out, this feature, for a long time both in Sea Monkey (a disaster in the making) and now in FireFox the same problems: fix it, provide for COMMAND AND Control cause this is a mess.

How To : Call External Webservice from BPEL and pass SOAP Message to the WS

Hello All-
Greetings to all BPEL gurus. I am currently facing difficulties in calling an External Webservice from my BPEL Process and passing SOAP Message to it. The details are below:
1. The BPEL process, using database polling feature of DB Adapter, will get the records from the database.
2. Transform the message
3. Call the External Webservice and pass the transformed message as the input to it. However the Webservice expects the BPEL process to send SOAP headers in the input message.
I am struggling on how to put the transformed message within a SOAP envelope in the BPEL process.
If anyone had similar requirements and have successfully been able to send SOAP messages from BPEL process to an external webservice, kindly let me know.
Also if there is some kind of documentation or any link in the forum that I can refer, please let me know that as well.
I am new to Webservice integration using BPEL and would really appreciate your help.

I am trying to send a SOAP message from my BPEL process to a web service. I have a complete SOAP message in a complex variable defined in the wsdl for the partnerlink (web service). My problem is that when I invoke the partnerlink it fails even though the content shown in the BPEL console looks valid.
I have set up obtunnel to see what I am actually sending out from BPEL. You mention that BPEL creates the SOAP envelope automatically.
I think that my problem is a result of this automatic SOAP envelope that BPEL is creating. Do you know if there is a way to turn it off?

No status record was passed to ALE by the application
registering the function module, linking FM with basic type with direction equal to 2, assigning FM to process code and inbound parameters of partner profiles are configured well.
Plz let me know if i missed any steps.

Insert a DB record and receive the Record ID

on the classic master/detail approach.
These steps represent what I would like to achieve :
1) add the master record and get the corresponding primary key
2) add multiple records in another table using the Master Prim.key
That seems to be so simple,
but I have no idea how to get the Master PrimaryKey.

You can't get a result back from the standard database call. If there is another unique field, you could query again based on that. I needed something with one child record. I did the whole thing in a PL/SQL block passing all the parameters to one call.

Hi All, I have a requirement to validate the source record count with the trailor record count. And pass value futher if matches else abort the load and generate email. I have separated header and footer info in one table and detail record to one table.  Now how can i count my total source record and looking on headertrailor table pass value for trailor record and compare both. There is no common field with source table and headertrailor table. at the 3rd party CP has deleted the mx record and A record of the email, and created a A record and poit it to the client External IP.

CHECK for duplicate inside a cursor and pass a ouptut parameter in sql server 2008

I am inserting a value into a table, Before inserting i am checking that record already exists or not in the target table, If its existsing i am making an entry into errorlog table and set the output parameter to 'errorlog' . This is inside the cursor, as
il be passing multiple values. Next is I have separate query to get the new record which is not in the target table. Using EXCEPT i get the new record and i insert into a main table. after insertion i set output as 'success'.
Here while executing the procedure i pass a duplicate value and a new value. As it is in cursor,first it will insert into errorlog and set output parameter as 'errorlog' .Next it will insert a new record into main table and set output parameter as 'Success'.
So on completion of the execution of the procedure i get output as success.
But i should get as errorlog. I should get success only on no errors in the procedure. How i can i achieve this? Please help me.

Hi Deepa,
If I understand your question correctly, you would like the @Output parameter to contain the value "Success" only if all rows were successful. As soon as one row was found to be a duplicate, the value of @Output at the end of execution should be "ErrorLog".
Currently, you modify the value of @Output in each iteration of the cursor, so at the end of execution you're left with the last value.
In order to change that to work the way you want it, you need to set the value of @Output in the beginning of execution (before entering the cursor) to "Success", and as soon as there is a duplicate row, you should modify the value to "ErrorLog". This way,
if all rows are successful, the value of @Output will be "Success" at the end of execution. On the other hand, if there is even a single duplicate row, the value of @Output will be "ErrorLog" at the end of execution.

u r passing "high" value and in "option u r passing "EQ" so how it will work!!!
So if u r passing only 1 date or more dates like 01.01.2010 , 15.02.2010 , 10.03.2010 then pass
rspar_line-selname = 'SO_BUDAT'.
rspar_line-kind = 'S'.
rspar_line-sign = 'I'.
rspar_line-option = 'EQ'.
rspar_line-LOW = PDATE-HIGH.
APPEND rspar_line TO rspar_tab.
or if u r passing low & high date means in range like 01.01.2010 to 30.01.2010, then pass

i think u cannot use "call transaction using bdcdata" in ur case bcoz as u said in ur 1st post u want to display the details of all but still if u want to use then u should pass all parameters in loop.

How to create a record of quiz takers details

I am new to Captivate 5 and have created a quiz. How do I record the quiz takers details and have those details sent to me via email on the complection of the quiz so I can record who has taken the test.
