BT Sports frustration

"To say i am frustrated would be a huge understatement, i cannot believe the lack of service/ response avaliable from a huge company like BT."
Here!, here! ..................... I'm not taking the service up when it reverts to full price! All I'm getting, after hours on the fone to Bt.com Sports tekkies (I use that word loosely!), is their broadcast via my freeview TV aerial, but absolutely **bleep** ALL via BT Infinty broadband to my computer. It took a day or so to get their tv service, as they had forgot to switch me on for 6th August (their commited contract date), and we finally got their TV package on the 11 th August.
Via the net to my main computer: they query the spec of my Dell computer, however it plays live BBC progs via their desktop i-player @ the drop of a hat, with no stuttering or freezing.
Whoever is responsible for the release of BT.Com Sports, etc., on "the net", should swing from the highest tree!!!!
Yes, @ 66 years of age (with plenty of I.T. experience), I am thoroughly disenchanted with BT !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm also a BT share holder, so I intend to burn the ear of the man/woman @ the top!

There are some out there getting problems with BT Sport etc that are down to using their own routers that are not compatible with BT's transmission.
Just be aware that if not using a HH3 or 4 then only a few routers are known to work , eg Billion 7800s and some Drayteks.

• Completely Frustrated With Nike Plus Sports Kits

I've bought several Nike Plus Sports Kits recently and every single one of them has had a dead sensor in them. Either I'm buying them from retailers that have had these units on their shelves for years (ever since Nike Plus first rolled out), or there is some sort of defect with the majority of the sensors I've purchased. It's a real pain in the neck to keep having to take these kits back to where I bought them and try a different location to get a new one.
I didn't have this problem when the program first rolled out years ago (when the batteries in these units were fresh), but lately I've lost all desire to even use Nike Plus and have resorted back to a good old fashioned pedometer.
Any suggestions?

I also have just bought 1 sensor (Fnac in Italy) and it seems with a dead battery. I have tried all possible options and followed instructions to connect to the new sensor, but never made it to connect with my iPod touch (2nd gen) or iPod Nano.
I will return it tomorrow to the shop.

• 7 hours, 3 complaints, no reply and no BT Sport

Unbelievable. I know you're all having similar issues, but just in case someone at BT is actually listening (as our complaints and phone calls are going unanswered), here's our experience. If a mod can arrange the Exceptions team to call ME I'd appreciate that.
COMPLAINT 1:
Dear BT
We have been BT customers for a long time, and switched to a triple play deal a couple of years ago, taking phone, broadband and TV from you. I assume this is what you want from all customers, and we were happy with the deal.
I was even more pleased when I learned that BT Sport was coming, and I signed up early so not to miss out on subscription options. However, now I am trying to add BT Sports, being a long term committed customer of BT has placed me at a SIGNIFICANT DISADVANTAGE.
As I write, I am currently on hold to your customer contact team. In total, over the past 2 days, I've been on the phone for 6 HOURS trying to get this resolved. Let me take you through some of the pain of that 6 (yes 6!) hours.
1. Having received no communication via email or through MyBT in advance to enable me to access BT Sport, I waited until the launch. Being a BT customer, having BT Broadband and BT Vision, I was aware that we do not live in an Infinity area but the communications seemed to indicate that I would just be able to start watching online as soon as BT Sports was available. So I logged in through MyBT (having made sure I had access to it a few weeks ago), but when I tried to add BT Sports / access BT Sports, I received an error message asking me to contact BT. So I did.
2. Having used the QueueBuster feature (which is brilliant - why can't all your departments have it?) I received a call back within 10 minutes, in which the advisor informed me that 7.9Mb was not fast enough to receive BT Sport. I asked about the non-BT Infinity option, to which I was advised I could not receive. I was doubtful, but thought this may be possible, and so asked for help to access the app. He said he couldn't help me with this, and so I was transfered.
3. Eventually I got through to the technical help team. It took half an hour for them to figure out I could not access the app as I had not SUBSCRIBED to BT Sport. I asked HOW I was meant to subscribe, as I had received no communication on how to do this and every link in your utterly confusing website ended up in the same message. They passed me to the BT Sales team to organise this.
4. After another long wait I eventually got through to another department. When I explained my situation (all I wanted to do was watch BT Sports on my laptop, and I am a BT Broadband customer) they said I needed to subscribe. I said I know this, that's why I've been put through to them. After another 20 minutes going around in circles I was advised to go through to BT Sport on 0800800801. I asked to be transfered, which they could not do, so I hung up and called BT Sport.
5. I spoke to 2/3 advisors at BT Sport, who were able to identify that the cause of the problem was that I was on an OLD triple-play package, and that they could not process the order. All tried to transfer me through to the Exceptions team. All calls failed - just cutting off after 20 minutes on the call.
6. I gave up after 3 hours of going round in circles and decided to try again in the morning. I called back at 8.30am this morning. Now, at 11.30, it has just been resolved.
7. I called at 8.30 and spoke to Richard, who tried to be helpful but couldn't get any further either, and so transfered me to Exceptions. He tried to hang on but understandably after 5 minutes he had to transfer direct. The call then inexplicably dropped.
8. I called back again, and was put straight into the queue for Exceptions. After 40 minutes, the call was finally answered and the helpful Jeanette took up the cause. She explained that our package was an unusual situation (WHY?) due to it being on the old system. She tried to unpick it and process the order, but after half an hour her system would not let her go any further. So, diligently she asked to call me back after she'd reset her system. This she did, and half an hour later again (at around 10.30) she was finally successful in putting our package back together. For this we needed a new Vision box, a new router and a new viewing card. Great, sorted I thought.
9. I checked online for the order, which showed up fine on the email confirmation. I then double checked by tracking online, and found all the equipment was due to be delivered to our old address! So, I had an email to the right address, all account details in the right address, all details confirmed on calls (at least 9 times) to the right address, and our old address in on the delivery details?
10. I phoned back after again FAILING to change the details online. This time the call took around 40 minutes, and I was transfered to 2 departments just to check and confirm that the wrong delivery address HAD been allocated, and to change this to the account address. Something that I was lucky to catch - and I only caught on double checking online due to the PAINFUL experience I've had with BT over the last 2 days.
Finally, I'm hoping all is resolved. The package I believe we now have includes:
1. Line rental paid upfront for 1 year
2. BT calls package (weekends and evenings) at £2 per month
3. BT Unlimited Broadband at £16 per month
4. BT Vision Essentials pack at £5 per month (including BT Sports)
5. A new router
6. A new BT Vision box
7. A viewing card
This has been a hard slog. And surely it should not be like this for a customer who has been with you for a long time and has taken all services from you for a long time.
In fact, I'm sure it would have been much easier for Sky customers to switch to BT or add BT to their existing Sky package than it was for this BT customer to get an additional BT package!
I hope you can understand my EXTREME frustration with this process, and the time it has cost me to do this. Indeed, it would have been quicker for me to switch everything to another provider I think.
So, I would certainly like to be recompensed for this SEVERE INCONVENIENCE. I am happy to pay the £23 per month agreed, but I would like all upfront fees (line rental / BT Hub / Vision Box / Viewing Card / Delivery fees) reimburded as a gesture of goodwill and recognition that it really should not have been that hard.
I look forward to your positive response to this matter.
COMPLAINT 2 (After the equipment was delivered to the wrong address)
Now I don't have complaint 2, but it was something along the lines of why did I bother when you ended up sending my package 300 miles away from where I now live after confirming everything with you. TWICE.
COMPLAINT 3: (after getting the equipment, minus a remote control, and finding out it's useless anyway)
Dear BT
I've written so often that I almost feel like an old friend. Or a jilted lover, given that all of my messages fall on deaf ears, my calls aren't returned and there's never anyone to answer my call.
You've really outdone yourself this time.
You'll recall on my last love letter that I complained about the delivery of our new equipment going to the wrong address after I had confirmed with you that it would go to the right address? And this after 6 hours of trying to unpick our LEGACY package so I could adorn you with more money and you could tie me in for another 12 months of loveless partnership?
Well we eventually got our equipment (delivered from 300 miles away - no thanks to you), and had the joy of installing our new YouView box, only to find no remote control. The irony of it was that a new box was ordered as I had requested a new control for our broken one on our old Vision Plus box. So, back on the phone I go to try to get a control sent to us PDQ, and guess what...
1. You don't need a viewing card for a YouView box (oh, yes you charged me £10 for a Viewing Card too)
2. I can't get BT Sport (which was the whole purpose of this utterly fruitless exercise) on a YouView box with copper wires?
So why oh why have you sent me a new YouView box AND CHARGED ME FOR IT when I can't use it to get what I want? AND WHERE'S THE REMOTE CONTROL!
So apparently the magical, mysterious Exceptions team have the power to put everything right and make it all work. Except they're the ones who messed up in the first time. And your oh so lovely customer assistant assured me they aren't as busy as they were a couple of weeks ago. Well I've been on the phone 50 minutes now and still got a ring tone, and I know the lines will cut off in 30 minutes as the department closes at 8pm.
So, to sum up:
1. You've charged me god knows how much and tied me in for 12 months
2. You've removed our ability to record live TV on our Vision + box, and deleted ALL of our precious recordings
3. Sent me a Viewing card that doesn't work (it's a 118 card and my box asks my to enter a 119 number) AND charged me for it
4. Sent me a new box for which I don't NEED a viewing card.
5. Sent me a new box WITHOUT a remote control
6. Sent me a new box with which I can't get BT Sport
7. You are charging me £5 a month for LESS TV functionality
8. I have wasted 7 hours jumping through your hoops
9. I have sent you 2 previous letters of complaint - this is my third. ALL so far are unanswered.
10. Delivered the wrong order to the wrong address AND CHARGED ME FOR IT. AND I got the redelivery done myself as it was quicker than getting through to you!
Unbelievable. Shameful. Embarrassing.
It's actually worth spending £100 a month with Sky just so I don't have to deal with you.
In fact, I think I might just do that unless I get a pretty speedy response and an incredible gesture of love from you soon.
Much love

• Swf files appearing in preview (D8) but not n browser after uploading - frustrated!

Hello,
I have worked with Flash and Dreamweaver on the side for a
number of years. We all know that after the recent changes, the way
it handles object and embed tags has changed to favor Java
actionscripts instead.
This code I am about to paste was created using Dreamweaver
8.02, with transitional (x) html. Now mind you, this is not the
prettiest piece of code you've ever seen. I now am learning to use
CSS layouts instead of layers/tables, with php and flash
integrated. This one example is not the only time I have had this
problem however.
I made a silly flash banner (its actually a placeholder for a
better one I have to develop) for testing purposes and sizing. It
appears fine in Firefox, and IE6 in the preview mode via
Dreamweaver. When I upload it all to the site, the flash banner
does not appear.
I have tried copying the FLA and SWF files to the root folder
(the fla, swf, and html files generated are all present), and tried
a number of variations in the code and parameters to no avail. The
darn thing just won't appear now. Similarly older pages I have
created that Dreamweaver now prompts you to "fix the object tag
that may not work in IE7...etc" have the same issue. If I select
"go ahead and fix them for me", they are visible in production, but
gone after uploading.
Now to remove the possibility that this was a layering or
parent tag issue of visibility, I created a blank HTML page and
"insert/media/flash" and stuck the banner in there, then uploaded
it to my server. It doesn't appear.
I need help. I have been scouring the web for a few days now
to no avail and have become quite frustrated with what used to be a
really easy integration of Flash and html.
Here is the top chunk of code from the page in question: (the
page is live with the missing banner here:

• Another User Frustrated and the Disappointed

I am currently a producer for the NBA and a former segment director on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live. I started editing on 3/4" U-matic video tape years ago and now work with tapeless acquisition formats such as RED, the Canon MK II, and Sony XDCAM cameras.  I do not currently have nor have I EVER had ANY problems adapting to new technologies and new directions in my field of work. The ability to adapt to changes in the industry keeps you competitive and insures you won't be left behind.
That being said,  I am extremely worried about Apple and their dedication to its pro users.  I have been a loyal Apple user since Mac OS System 6. Sacrificing functionality for simplicity is not always a good thing.  Over the past two decades Microsoft Windows has been known solely as a creature of function, and a very frustrating one at that. I fell in love with Apple because they have always strived to achieve perfect harmony in the marriage of form WITH function.  Their products were simple and powerful.  Final Cut Pro X marks a defined shift in Apple's priorities (though when you look at Apple's history, this has been coming for a while).  It is now very clear that Apple wants to be a consumer products company.  It's probably a matter of time until the Mac OS and the iOS merge.  Mac OS X Lion will be the first step towards that transition.
Fox Sports and the NBA invested in multiple Mac Pros and Final Cut Studio suites powered by Final Cut servers.  After Apple discontinued their servers, we all began to worry about Apple's dedication to their professional customers.  Final Cut X is another step towards Apple abandoning the very user base that helped keep them alive for 20 years. Fox Sports and the NBA will more than likely cease using Final Cut due to the lack of professional features in Final Cut X and the discontinuation of their media server. This has nothing to do with learning a new, modern system and everything to do with Final Cut X being a subpar product absent of the tools we need to GET THE JOB DONE.
The following timeline was pulled from a post from another user.  I share his sentiments:
The real tragedy here is if Apple thinks all the anger over FCP X is just about that particular software, and not the growing fear over the last few years that pro apps and gear are a fading priority for Apple. For instance:
* It took almost 2.5 years to go from Final Cut Studio 2 to Final Cut Studio 3, and Final Cut Studio 3 was just a moderate update. Then it took almost another 2 full years to introduce Final Cut Pro X, which removed important tools and features that post houses require to function in this industry.
* Apple bought Shake, and then cancelled it almost immediately.  Apple told us all that there would be a next-generation app coming in Shake's place, but that never showed up.
* Apple started letting Logic atrophy.
* Apple "phoned-in" the last few Mac Pro updates, just slapping in some new Intel chips, but not adding value such as 1) more expansion slots (three slots is not a lot for a workstation), and 2) never bothering to include an eSATA port, even though tons of media professionals started using eSATA, 3) never bothering to include a USB3 port, etc. etc. Many people are wondering if the new Thunderbolt port will be Apple's excuse to give up on the Mac Pro altogether.  This is a real possibility.
* Apple stopped updating its "Pro" page almost two years ago, here: http://www.apple.com/pro/
* Apple stopped attending NAB, and other standard industry events.
* Multiple rumors that Apple was trying to sell its Pro Apps division.
People have spent a lot of time and money building their businesses and careers around FCP. But since the iPhone launched, FCP and other pro apps and gear have gotten noticeably less attention.
That makes a lot of people nervous, and left to wonder what Apple's intentions are. You really can't help but wonder because Apple is so ridiculously silent about its intentions, which works fine on the consumer side but not when people are investing tens of thousands of dollars in apps and gear around Apple.
Combine that with Apple shipping a new version of Final Cut that is so radically different and so underpowered, and also discontinuing sales for FCS 3 suites and FCP Server (with no explanation about Server's demise or any intentions on bringing back multi-user functionality) and you can see how the dam finally burst in the Pro community and the angry flood waters rushed in.
Apple better start communicating better with its pro customers, and re-assuring them that it's committed to professional work in this new era of the iPhone/iPad. Otherwise, a lot of people will be heading for the doors.

Hello Derek,
I'm a Graphic and Web designer, but have on ocassion have had to do some video work for clients, and had a passing interest in what Apple was going to do with FCP. And then the 'Net exploded in Pro Rage.
But this is a kind of disturbingly familiar to me. The Design cimmunity had been feeling marginalized by Apples' full blown pursuit of the consumer market for a while. We've been put in the position of where a Mac Pro is TOO much, and often too costly for a small studio or freelancer, and the iMac is not flexible or expandable enough. Tho' they are now positioning the iMac as the "Mac Pro for the rest of us."
But I frakkin' cringe every timeI I hear the word "magical" come out the mouth of an Apple exec.
In the early 90's Apple virtually INVENTED "Desktop Publishing" with the Mac SE, Pagemaker, Postscript and the LaserWriter which changed literally everything in Publishing and Design... forever. They have since seemed to lose all interest in the industry they essentially created. Apple's attention seems to be fully consumed with the users of iThings, but hey, I work for a living.
a Pro Editor's take on FCP X:
"...these aren’t omissions. They’re mistakes. They’re conscious, deliberate choices Apple made and got wrong. And as long as FCP X shows you all your bins all the time, and as long as FCP X doesn’t have the concept of tracks in the timeline, it’s going to be literally unusable in commercial post." - Jeffery Harrell
http://jefferyharrell.tumblr.com/post/6830049685/what-went-wrong-with-final-cut- pro-x
It's very insightful, specific and worth a read.
Over the years, I have generally preferred the Mac as a platform. It's a more elegant and less maintenance-intensive user experience and (for the most part) gets out of my way and lets me work. With Apple's current relentless pursuit of the "consumer computing" market, they seem to have lost interest in the professional market. But who's creating the apps and content for users to "consume?" The Mac Pro is now the last in the upgrade cycle, and last years update was dissapointing for the lack of Pro level capabilities that were highly desired in the professional community. I recall when Mac towers were first to get the shiny. While they are still certainly heavy metal, and priced to match, they are no longer awesome. They are not the dominant machines the G4 and G5 towers were, and you can now purchase workstation class Xeon machines on the PC side from several makers
I certainly can't do pre-press or serious web design on an iPad, appealing little slab of electric crack it may be.
"Final Cut Pro X review: Apple will happily **** off 5,000 professionals to please 5,000,000 amateurs." - Daniel Jalkut, on Twitter (via Daring Fireball)
Pretty much sums up where Apple's seems to be. It's not the specific problems of FCP X that worries me, it's Apple's ATTITUDE. And illuminates why at times I feel Apple doesn't always have my interests as a Creative Pro at heart. At one time we were Apple's core and most loyal market, but I increasingly feel dismissed by Apple. Apple kicked the Design community to the curb years ago. And they antagonize Adobe at our professional peril. I literally live and die by Adobe's Design apps, without them I am literally irrelevant in the publishing world.
But Apple is so frustratingly close mouthed about EVERYTHNG, that it's particularly hellish to try to plan for one's professional needs.
I feel your pain.

• Total frustration, Spry Sub Menu jumps to top of page in IE 7.

I am a newbie to Divs and spry menus, tring to put together a site for the local sports club. Have created a spry menu and have problems in IE browsers. In IE 7 the sub menu jumps to the top of the page. In IE 8 the submenu covers the main button/menu when you hover over it, instead of dropping down, also side image next to spry menu jumps out of Div. Works fine in Firefox. Have upgraded Spry to 1.61. Here is address of site    http://www.pascoevalesc.org.au/.

G'day Mate,
You are not using the latest Spry files
The latest version of the Adobe Spry Framework is 1.6.1, this is the same version that ships with Dreamweaver CS4. If you use Dreamweaver CS3 (uses Spry 1.4), its wise to upgrade your files to the latest version. This can easily be done using the Spry Updater that can be found here.

• Can I Watch BT Sport On My BT Youview Box WITHOUT ...

Hi
I hope I have a simple question that has a simple answer!
I have a recently supplied by BT Youview box(Humax I believe). BT line rental and BT Broadband as well. I am in an area that does NOT get Affinity.
Can I get BT Sport on my Youview box? If so, how do I go about it?
I used the online chat assistant(32 minute wait) and the person there said I could-but as we got further in to the conversation she said she didn't know how to enable it as she was actaully from the billing department and didn't know how to do it :-( She said she'd pass me on to their techincal people to help me and she'd call me straight away. She did this and asked me to close ALL BT windows on my computer before she could pass me on. I did this. Only to find I had been put in a queue for some Bt helpline :-( After 38 minutes of being told BT were very busy, but that they would get to my call as soon as possible-the call simply disconnected. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, not sure why they treat customers like that but it certainly makes you think twice about migrating to SKY :-(
Anyway, I've spent ages on the phone and the computer trying to enable BT Sport without success. All I really want to know is: can I have BT Sport on my recently supplied BT Youview box with BT Broadband on a BT line? If I can, how do I do it? If not, will it be available to me any time soon?
I hope I have given enough info to help answer this simple question but if not PLEASE don't hesitate to ask for more detail.
Many, many thanks to anyone that can help clear up this frustrating issue for me :-)
Heraldic

Thanks for that. The thought of trying to get back through to BT again fills me full of dread :-( I think I'll pass on that and give up hope.

You would really have to speak to BT about that. (sorry). They would have to release you from your current contract and restart you with a BT vision box.
My fear is that they would charge you for the Youview box you currently have as it only becomes "your" box after you have completed a 1 year contract.

• I don't get channel 1748 fox sports MO.

I'm very frustrated about why I don't get channel 1748? I live in KS and I paid for fox sports MO so that I can watch my hometown Cardinals play. I can watch the post show and the pre show and that's it. It just says this channel is blocked out in my area.
When I called about this problem the guys said its because I should go to the stadium and watch it.
I can go to the channel fox sport KS and can see royals and I'm NOT at the stadium watching it. So what's the deal? I shouldn't have to pay for a channel that I CANNOT get. How can I get this channel from being blocked? I can't drive seven hours to drive to a cards game. When I should just watch it on tv!!!

Only thing you'll see are the KC Royals, except on National broadcasts on Fox, FS1 and ESPNs.

• NBC Sports channel -Flyers Devils listed but not shown!!!!

I'm in the Philadelphia market and last night I went to watch the Flyers Devils game listed on channel 590 NBC Sports and was dissapointed to see MMA boxing.  Was the game blacked out for some reason? I called Verizon support and was on hold for an hour and gave up. Very frustrating!! Any info would be appreciated

I thought I got Comcast Sportsnet. I know I've watched Phliies game on it.
The game you wanted to watch was on TCN (The Comcast Network) NOT Comcast Sportsnet - Comcast uses this as an "overflow" channel when 2 Philly teams are playing at the same time.  TCN is an SD only channel on FiOS so I never watch games on it.

• Lost Sky Sports, rang Help line, lost will to live...

Hello all.  Any mods listening?  Please help.  Along with others, found Sky Sports dead on me last night (see other thread).  Rang India, poor bloke tried to help but had to plough through his standard tests and while he was doing that the phone went dead (and no, no-one rang back).  So, I've tried the switch off- wait- restart-retune as recommended by the voice-over on the 0800 number, but still can't see Sky; I'm getting the Please Insert Viewing Card message again, just as before.  Two questions: 1. will this keep happening? 2. Just what was the problem that led to this happening? Oh yes, and a third: how come the nice man in India didn't know anything about it?

Thanks for reply.  The problem was the same as that described in other threads, including 'Sky Problems', if I remember the thread correctly.  The screen was giving me the same message as I got when first registering it- PLEASE INSERT CARD... etc.  When I did the switch-off/switch-on routine this morning, the box obviously downloaded a significant update.  What is so frustrating is having to guess what's happening.  There was obviously a serious and widespread problem; the message in the intro on the 0800 teccie help line said so.  Now it's sorted I'm still none the wiser and still don't know how likely it is to happen again.  The help guys cliamed not to know anything about any widespread problem and simply took me through their standard problem-solving routine (or rather, started to until the phone went dead).  It's a great shame that BT produces services and stuff that are worth having but simply hasn't got the hang of communicating with customers.  For example, why not put bulletins on known problems somewhere prominent on this web site?  Anyway, that's enough whingeing, until the next time.

• Muvo C100 Sport SD - MMC Card Problem

Hi there,
i recieved my new MuVo C00 Sport a few days ago! I have a big prob with external memory cards.
tried sd and mmc cards with 52mb. the player does not initialize the cards after "power on"...
jumping to the external card shows the info "no music"! after plug out and in of the card while the player is on,
the card gets readable...
is this a firmware bug? i have testet 3 different 52mb cards (sd and mmc). this is no good news, cause i do not want to plug the card every time i turn the player on, even when i go out for a run!!!
can anyone share his experiences with me about that?
thanks,
iron_muvo

Hi all.
I have also unfortunatly had the same problem with my sandisk 52 card, when I try and access the card through the player it will only read as 'no music'. Also the Muvo C00 does not even read the size of the card or free space, only that it is there I have also tried formating in FAT/32, to no avail.
"If I have no music on the internal memory, after I turn it on, it stalls for about 30sec-2minutes then it displays "No Music". If there is music on the internal dri've, then it plays from the internal dri've and then says there is no music in the external<FONT color=#ffffff> card. The only way I can get it to work is by turning the player on, then inserting the card. It reads almost immediately with this method. After I restart it, then it won't read at all. It's very frustrating. I know it should work, but it won't.".......
Despite the issues I am still keeping the player as it fits me needs nicely, and of course I expect Creative to support this product like any other sooo I can wait for the fix that is sure to come.
Peace

• BT Sport never gets activated

Hello
I had BT broadband installed on 16th Aug and expected BT sport (free HD as I ordered before 1st aug) to also be available on my SKY platform, it is not.
I have rung BT every day and speak to 3 or 4 people each time who pass me between departments - average length of call is between 40-60 mins. I have given my Sky viewing card number every day and I am assured it will be activated within 24 hours - it never is.
The situation is frankly ridiculous and very frustrating as no one seems able to complete such a simple order. I have lost all confidence in BT already
Is there anyone who can help me, I have spoken to over 15 different support people thus far
thanks

• Bt sport not working but all Internet channels ok

For over about 2 months we have got the error message up ipc6011 whenever we try to watch bt sport. All other Internet channel work fine including catch up and you view. This is beginning to get frustrating as it is getting upto the end of the free months and we have barely watched any games. I have gone through the suggestions for the error online and it still doesn't work. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi 123sim189,
Welcome to the forum and thanks for posting. Sorry you're having problems with the BT Sports service. You've mentioned going through the online help but can you double chack 'IPC' error codes on YouView and let me know if it helps. If you're still having problems after that drop me an email with your details and I'll take a look for you.
Cheers

• Safari and bbc sports player

does anyone know how to get the bbc sports player to work? everytime i click on one of the videos nothing happens. i have the latest version of windows media and and real one player (the two forms of the player the bbc's requires).
I live outside the UK and whilst there are a few things on the sports player that are for UK people only, most are not. I can access the sports player fine from my work PC (microsoft) but as soon as i get home and switch on my ibook i get nothing!! Anyone have any clues??

Hi
one thing to try is opening Realplayer Preferences, choose the transport tab, check the 'use manually configured rtsp & pna...." box & click the configure button, then check only the http box in the rtsp column.... uncheck any others.
When I first got this mac about a year ago, this was the only thing that got the bbc player working; although it doesn't seem necessary now; but I leave it set that way & don't notice any other problems. Also use Realplayer for the bbc stuff, the resolution & speed always seemed rubbish from them in wmv form.
Praps also try deleting any bbc cookies via Safari-Preferences-Security-Show Cookies.
I know how frustrating this can be, since for a while it seemed that nothing would get the bbc news/sports players to behave.

• BT Sport activation not working

I have just switched to BT phone and Broadband. When I try to activate my BT Sport for use with laptop / App the automated checker keeps telling me I do not have Broadband. Clearly I do have Broadband with BT, so why can I not activate BT Sport?
I can see on the forum I am not the only one to have had these problems. I have tried some of the solutions suggested, but it does not work.  Phoning BT has so far meant a 20 minute minimum wait for an answer on each occasion.
I am regretting leaving Plusnet, who were brilliant at customer support and responded promptly both by phone and online. But I am where I am.......so anyone any bright ideas what I can try?
Thanks from frustrated in Somerset!

Well, I managed to find myself in contact with the Executive Level Complaints team. My problem was resolved and BT Sport is now working.  I received excellent support from the ELC and can only say they did a great job.
I hope some form of training for the rest of the BT support team comes out of this. The ELC found the problem and fixed it very quickly, just a shame their normal support operation wasn't as efficient.
Anyway, for now I am a happy BT customer.
