Buffer Misses On an hourly basis

Can anyone advise on guidelines I should pay attention to when determining if there is to much broadcase traffic in my network?
For instance if I am looking at my switch should I see any buffer misses within a one hour time period?
Are buffer misses a negative thing?
Thanks.
Keith

Buffer Misses identifies the number of times that a buffer has been requested and the RP detected in which pool additional buffers were required. In other words, the number of buffers in the free list has dropped below min level. The misses counter represents the number of times the RP has been forced to create additional buffers.

  • Why is a site i log into on an hourly basis suddenly blocked by filter

i log onto an art sharing site on a hourly basis, yet all of a suddent i can't log onto the said site, i get a black screen with white letters saying blocked by filter. how do i fix this?

Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that works.
If that works then some software on your computer is the cause of the blocking message.
You can also check the connection settings.

    Hi,
if your license covers the Diagnostic Pack, then you can run an AWR report -- it has logon statistics, or query DBA_HIST_SYSSTAT manually:
select snap_id, value - lag(value) over (order by snap_id) logons
    from DBA_HIST_SYSSTAT
    where stat_name like 'logons cumulative'
    order by snap_id desc;Best regards,

  • MRP Run for Hourly basis in MD61 Transaction

    Hi All,
I want to Run MRP for Hourly basis in MD61 Transaction
If the user selects the Planning period as Hourly then in the next screen for Table Tab , 24 columns should be appear.
    Please give the solution.
    Thanks
    Ulhas

    Dear Vijesh,
according to scenario described , the correct strategy to use il  strategy 40 as corretly suggest also kiran.
After create planning forecast through MD61 you can create immediately active you plan and after the system also before to run MRP planning will see the requirmenet ( Pir ) and it will work according to new sales order.
Sales order are going to reduce Planned indipendent requirement until to arrive zero quantity in MD04 (situation in with will there are only sales orders).
This information is avalible to standard SAP also in tcode MD73 but only with limited selection (qty assign)
You can use also Fm to read MRP situation in order to have a control report so that to monitorig the % of sales order and the planned indipendent requirement.
Let me know if i have been useful for you..

  • Buffer Misses on Cisco 2970 and 2950 switches

    Hi,
I am seeing a lot of big buffer misses, some small buffer misses and medium buffer misses on our 2970 and 2950 switches. I'm seeing this on most of our switches (about 10 of them). I've searched the forum and docs and only found info relating to routers. Anybody know what these errors mean and how to troubleshoot them for switches? Thanks in advance.

One common reason for this in 2950 switches is due to flooded traffic. Plug in a sniffer in promiscous mode and check for any broadcast/multicast/unknown unicast flooded traffic.

  • Safari crashing on an hourly basis

My Safari, v. 6.2.2 is lately crashing too frequently, almost on an hourly basis... The beach ball is turning, and when I switch to the Finder and back to Safari it would not respond to the pointer, I must quit Safari and launch it again... Short of switching to Chrome as my default browser, is there a solution?  I already reset Safari by removing all website data. Still, no improvement.
    Please help..... Thanks!

Safari/Preferences/Advanced - enable the Develop menu, then go there and Empty Caches. Quit/reopen Safari and test.
    Do a backup.
    Quit the application.
In Finder hold down the option/alt key while selecting the Go menu item. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart the computer, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer ones.
If you want to make your user library permanently visible, run the below command in Applications/Utilities/Terminal.
    chflags nohidden ~/Library/
You will need to do that after any updates.

  • Running Hours Base Maintenance Plan

    Hi,
I have a scenario in which I need to create maintenance plan on running hours base. e.g. There is a generator which should be scheduled to plan according to 2000 running hours, 4K run hrs, 8K run hrs, 16K run hrs, ......
Now the tasks which are used in 2K plan will be repeated in 4K plan. and so on. How can I configure it in PM.
Kindly help, I shall be grateful to all.
    Best Regards,
    Ibne Khalil

First you will create a measruing point/counter for calculting the running hours. Now create a task list with maintenance strategies 2k, 4k, 8 k etc. now define the operations in the task list. In the maintebnance package define whcih operations you want to define for whcih operation. Suppose for 2k running hors you need only operation number 10, so select the maintenance package 2k only for operation 10. For 4k running hours you want operation 10 and 20 , then in maintenance package , for operation 10 select select 2k, and 4k and for operation number 20 selecct package 4k. SO operation 10 will come for 2k maintenance and also for 4 k maintenace and operation number 20 will only come for 4k running hours. Hope it will solve your problem.

  • Time dimension with Hourly base time periods

    Hi all
I need to analyze data at Hour, Day, Month, and Year levels. The data in the fact and dimension tables are at the 'Hour' level with DATE datatype, such as:
    02-SEP-10 10:00:00 AM
    02-SEP-10 11:00:00 AM
To use Time-Series type calculations, I understand that I have to create an OLAP dimension of type 'TIME' (and not 'USER') and map it to the populated relational time dimension table.
    1) Can I have the primary key for 'Hour' level as the actual base level value of datatype DATE (eg. 02-SEP-10 10:00:00 AM) ?
    2) For the END_DATE and TIME_SPAN attributes at the 'Hour' level, what should I use?
The documentation is only available for minimum 'Day' level hierarchies, which allows setting END_DATE and TIME_SPAN to the actual 'Day' value and 1, respectively.
    3) For the END_DATE and TIME_SPAN attributes at the 'Month' level, do I need to supply the last-date-of-each-month and number-of-days-in-that-month, respectively?
Please bear in mind that I am relatively new to Oracle OLAP. Any assistance will be appreciated.
    Cheers.

Thank you Szilard and Adnan for the very prompt and informative responses.
I managed to follow the advice on the oracleolap.blogspot link and created a time dimension with members at Hour level loaded into the dimension in character format: TO_CHAR(hour_id, 'DD-MON-YYYY HH24')
The problem now is the maintenance (loading) of the dimension is taking an abnormally large amount of time (over 1 hour) as opposed to when the members were being loaded in DATE format (5 minutes). The mapping table only as 10,000 entries.
Why is these such a big difference? Is it normal? Is there a way to speed up the maintenance time?
FYI, I have not created any indexes on any of the attributes.
    My platform is:
    11.1.0.7.0 DB

  • How to store daily sales data on hourly basis in SAP BI

    Hello Everyone,
We are implementing SAP BI with BO for a Retail Chain and the user wants to do reporting on store level for peak traffic hrs in a day and peak sales hrs in a day.
So the format using flat files will be
Date | Hour | Store | Footfalls | No. of Cash Memos
Hour will be like H1 , H2, H3 each mapped to an hour range from start time of store till closing time.
like H1 will be mapped to 9:00 am to 10:00 am, H2 - 10:01 am to 11:00 am assumig store starts at 9:00 am.
Is this kind of reporting possible in SAP BI.
I haven't seen any option to map hour compounded to CALDAY in BI. Also we can't create new time characteristics lower in granularity than day.
Is it possible to do this kind of Analysis in SAP BI?
    Thanks in advance
    -Tushar

    Hi
If you ae having time data in source
You can map it in BW and have routine to caluculate hour range H1, H2 and H3 from time informatio and update BW char field.
