Running Hours Base Maintenance Plan

Hi,
I have a scenario in which I need to create maintenance plan on running hours base. e.g. There is a generator which should be scheduled to plan according to 2000 running hours, 4K run hrs, 8K run hrs, 16K run hrs, ......
Now the tasks which are used in 2K plan will be repeated in 4K plan. and so on. How can I configure it in PM.
Kindly help, I shall be grateful to all.
Best Regards,
Ibne Khalil

First you will create a measruing point/counter for calculting the running hours. Now create a task list with maintenance strategies 2k, 4k, 8 k etc. now define the operations in the task list. In the maintebnance package define whcih operations you want to define for whcih operation. Suppose for 2k running hors you need only operation number 10, so select the maintenance package 2k only for operation 10. For 4k running hours you want operation 10 and 20 , then in maintenance package , for operation 10 select select 2k, and 4k and for operation number 20 selecct package 4k. SO operation 10 will come for 2k maintenance and also for 4 k maintenace and operation number 20 will only come for 4k running hours. Hope it will solve your problem.

  • Counter Base Maintenance plan.

    Hi all,
I had created counter base maintenance plan, speciefied equipment,in equipment maintained measuring point.
Then I created measuring point document, in this I had put 50 volt as my reading & click on SAVE,
then system immediated give masage create noti/service order.
if Yes then it create service order.
Now my question is is there any need to shedule maintenance plan?
Please tell me process of counter base maintenance plan.

    Hi
       Maint plan for coutner
Create the maintenance plan with maintenance strategy(IP11) which suits the performance parameter. Assign proper maintenance item to maintenance plan.
If only one measurement point is created for technical object then it will be automatically picked up otherwise select appropriate among the available once. Set the scheduling parameter according to requirement & specify the start reading. Start reading is in reference to which maintenance plan starts scheduling.
Example: Maintenance cycle is 90 run hrs., Start reading is 6 hrs and annual estimation given in measurement point = 360 Hrs (1hrs/day). Scheduling period = 365 day. Current Measuring point reading = 1 hrs on 1st Jan 06.
Schedule plan on 1st Jan 06.
    Call no.     @Hrs     @Date
    1     6+90=96     1st April 06
    2     96+90 = 186     1st July.
System schedule call date based on annual estimation and its keep on shifting as counter reading increases with time. System will trigger the call object on schedule date even if measurement reading will not reach the specified value.
    Scheduling of maintenance plan
Once maintenance plan is created it needs to be scheduled at regular interval. Single plan can be scheduled by IP10 and Multiple plan by IP30. (Called Deadline monitoring) This can be done manually or batch job can be created.
hope this will help. also please refere saphelp.com for further info

  • MRP Run for Hourly basis in MD61 Transaction

    Hi All,
I want to Run MRP for Hourly basis in MD61 Transaction
If the user selects the Planning period as Hourly then in the next screen for Table Tab , 24 columns should be appear.
    Please give the solution.
    Thanks
    Ulhas

    Dear Vijesh,
according to scenario described , the correct strategy to use il  strategy 40 as corretly suggest also kiran.
After create planning forecast through MD61 you can create immediately active you plan and after the system also before to run MRP planning will see the requirmenet ( Pir ) and it will work according to new sales order.
Sales order are going to reduce Planned indipendent requirement until to arrive zero quantity in MD04 (situation in with will there are only sales orders).
This information is avalible to standard SAP also in tcode MD73 but only with limited selection (qty assign)
You can use also Fm to read MRP situation in order to have a control report so that to monitorig the % of sales order and the planned indipendent requirement.
Let me know if i have been useful for you..

  • Output calculation (on the basis of running hour and quantity)

    Dear Guru,
    scenario:
we have 6 work center and activity type cost will be calculated on basis of output quantity.
ex : work center 1:activity cost: Rs 100
                                    output :100 nos(quantity)
                                      total  cost : 100*100= 10,000
like this we are calculating the cost of every workecnter
required sceario :we  want to calculate 4 workcenter cost on basis of output quantity and two on the basis of running hour
please help me where we do the changes .
thanks in advance for your suggestion

Not sure if I understood your query, but based on what little I understand you would need to use a formula which has only duration as parameter & not operation quantity.
Eg: Refer to standard value key - SAP4, which has SAPC00 as a parameter.
Using this you can multiply the cost with the hours irrespective of the operation output.
Do a test in your sandbox & if it meets your need adopt in PRD.

  • Total hours booked against a maintenance plan

    Hi,
How can I check how many hours have been booked against each maintenance plan.
    Many thanks.

    Hi
Many thanks for the answer it was very useful.
I went into IW38 and entered the maintenance plan no. and found all the maintenance orders against it.
Then i went into IW49 and put all the maintenance orders in it and it gave out the actual work booked against each order.

  • SQL Server Maintenance Plan does not run DEL command in .BAT

    Hello,
I have a T-SQL Statement task in my Maintenance Plan that runs a .BAT file and it runs OK when manually executed.  The .BAT file has a del d:\backups\*.* command in it. However, when the plan runs automatically at a scheduled time, the .BAT file does
not delete files.  Could this be a permissions issue?
    Paul

    Hi Paul,
This looks like a permission issue.  Make sure the account SQL instance is running has delete permissions on the folder from which you are trying to delete and also make sure the account has execute permission on that batch file.
    Thanks,

  • Maintenance plan every 3 hours

    hi all,
i need to configure a maintenance plan with ip41 but i need to make its cycle 3 hours, i mean 4 times a day, system warns me that smallest cycle can be 24 hours? what can i do?
how can i configure system that creates maintenance notif every 3 hours?
    thanks

    Hii
It is possible to plan a cycle more than once in a day. This can be catered by using Single Cycle Maintenance Plan.
    1. First make Measurement Counter ( with DAYS Characteristics ) with respect to any reference object and also make its measurement documents.
    2. Then goto single cycle plan. Select the cycle unit of  like 3 Hr and also select a counter of days in the same plan.
    3. Only if you select the Counter of days it will allow you to select a cycle less than 24 hr ok.
    4. Now you can schedule the plan and it ll generate the orders with the interval of 3 hrs.
Hope that helps. For any further clarification feel free to contact.

  • PM Maintenance Planning - Task Hours Required

    Hello All,
Our airport is using PM for their maintenance planning.  We are currently building a new terminal and they are asking for a way to simulate/project the additional work hours that will be required for the additional equipment. We are only concerned with the maintenance hours required for tasks...not materials.
I've looked at IP19 but when I add the work hours/duration, the values are only populated for lines that have a work order created.  Is there another report/method we can use to make headcount requirement projections?...maybe a workcenter capacity report????
    Any help is appreciated!
    Thank you,
    Allison
Note: PM is a newer module for me...background is more in SD, WM, FI/CO...so I'll take all the help you can provide!!

Sorry...I realize now that I posted in the wrong forum.  Reposted in EAM.

  • Error when running Maintenance plan

    Hi,
I get this error when I double click on our Maintenance Plan in Management Studio. Any Ideas?

    Hi duncanwarrender,
According to your description, you get errors when double-clicking on the Maintenance Plan. Based on my research, this issue could be due to that DTS Package is corrupt or missing. You could follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue.
1.Uninstall Management tools. In Control Panel, click Uninstall a program, click Microsoft SQL Server (for example, Microsoft SQL Server 2012(64-bit)) and click Remove. Select a instance and then select the feature 'Management tools' to uninstall.
2.Reinstall the following features from SQL Server setup, make sure that the installation of these tools complete successfully.
    a. SQL Server data tools
    b. Client tools SDK
    c. Client tools backwards compatibility
    d. Management tools-complete

Use the Maintenance Plan Wizard to create a maintenance plan:
"This topic describes how to create a single server or multiserver maintenance plan using the Maintenance Plan Wizard in SQL Server 2012. The Maintenance Plan Wizard creates a maintenance plan that Microsoft SQL Server Agent can run on a regular
basis. This allows you to perform various database administration tasks, including backups, database integrity checks, or database statistics updates, at specified intervals."

  • Maintenance Plan with Counter

    Dear All,
I have the following requirement, would be of great help if you can help me get the solution:
Their is a pump which is to be maintained. The orders need to be generated on the basis of two parameters:
    1. Number of hours the pump has ran. This can be recorded against measuring point.
    2. Number of calendar days elapsed.
The maintenance order should be created which ever condition is met first. For example: Every 200 hrs the pump runs, a maintenance order should be created also if the time elapsed is 2 months the order should be created. Now whatever of the above two comes first the order should be created against that only.
Can anyone please tell how to achieve this.
I have thought of two options though they dont look good:
Option 1: Create two maintenance plan. Delete/TECO the extra order generated.
Option 2: Create one maintenance plan with multiple counters, one for running hours and the other for calendar days. Keep OR relation. But here we need to update calendar days counter every day which is not feasible.
    Thanks
    Geravine

    Hi...
First of all you have to create the Measuring Counter for your Pump using the T.code IK01 and then post the initial measurement  document against the measuring counter using T.code IK11.
After above create the Cycle set for Multiple counter using T.Code IP11Z, and define the Cycle for your Multiple Counter Plan.
In your condition, define the cycle length as "2" and UOM as "MON" and second cycle length as "200" and UOM as "HRS" and also provide the short text for Cycle short text as per you convenience. This is one time activity.
Then create the Multiple counter Plan using the T.Code IP43 and cycle set created in earlier step. Provide the Technical Object i.e. Pump (Most probably Equipment) all other details are copied from it. Enter the created Measuring Counter for your Technical Object in the Maintenance Plan Cycle Tab against the 200 Hrs Row in Counter Columns. In the Second Tab i.e. Maintenance Plan scheduling parameter Choose "OR" Link . Enter the value Scheduling Period which help you to show the future plan in advance.
And as per requirement you can also check the box  available for Completion Requirement, Check the box if you required that New Maintenance Order  will not be generate until the previous order is get closed.
Hope this will resolve your query

  • Manual Maintenance Plan

    Hi All,
Using SQL Server 2008 R2 in multiple servers.
    1. Any script (links) for creating a manual maintenance plan? I would like to manually run the script for some databases in multiple servers.
    2. It is a way to collect the statistics before and after the maintenance? I would like to show the improvement after the plan running.
    3. Am I missing anything in this maintenance plan steps?
    - Full Backup of the database.
    - Transaction Log Backup.
    - Check DB integrity
    - Cleanup Backups more than two months
    - Rebuild Indexes
    - Reorganize indexes
    - Shrink databases
    - Update Statistics
Thanks for your help in advanced.
    Best,

I echo Raju: start at http://ola.hallengren.com
    A few more points:
    3. Am I missing anything in this maintenance plan steps?
    You have too much!
    - Full Backup of the database.
    - Transaction Log Backup.
T-Log backup is something that should occur regularly through the day. How often depends on your RPO, that is, how much data loss you can accept in case of a disaster. Every 15 minutes may be a good frequency.
    - Rebuild Indexes
    - Reorganize indexes
One of them. Not both. (Unless you have a table with LOB data that is updated frequently. You need REORGANIZE to get LOB compaction, but you may still want index rebuild, since it makes a more thoroufg work than reorganize. But this is a true edge case.)
And only rebuild/reorganize when there is a need to. (Which is exactly what Ola's scripts perform for you.)
    - Shrink databases
No! No! No! Shrinking databases should never be part of any regular maintenance. Shrinking a database file is an exceptional activity that you may perform when you have deleted a lot of data that never will return. Or when a log file has exploded after an
occasional accident. But shrinking on a regular basis is only detrimental. Shrinking introduces massive fragmentation (why it's pointless to rebuild indexes first). And what shrank will only grow again and growing takes time. While autogrow is good in
the sense that it prevent a complete outage when a file is full, it should still not happen during buisness hours but during maintenance windows.
    - Update Statistics
If you rebuild an index (not reorganize), statistics are updated as part of that operation, and they are updated with FULLSCAN, and not sampled. Anyway, this is also something that Ola's scripts handle for you.

  • Settings for performance based maintenance plan

    Hi experts,
Incase of hour or Km dependent performance base plan, how we can fix the reading (In hours or Km) limit or period of order generation? what is the impact of annual estimate? Please give me an example with all readings.
    Regards,

When you create a plan with a counter (Associate a measurement point of counter type to the same), then you would be able to specify at what intervals (Counter readings for this measurement point), the call object associated to the Maintenance plan should be generated.
The actual call date for this maintenance plan however depends on the "Annual estimate " for the measurement point counter and also the actual counter readings captured for the measurement point
For ex: Annual estimate maintained for the Point : 12,000 Miles .Maintenance for this equipment should be triggered for every 1000 Miles (This should be the counter interval maintained for the Maintenance plan). Based on the above the maintenance plan would generated a call every one month (Annual estimate / period). As an example,  when this Maintenance plan is scheduled for 1 yr, then 12 maintenance calls will be generated one each for every month. The actual and scheduled dates for the call depends on the various other scheduling parameters maintained for the Plan.
Its critical for any counter based maintenance plan that the counter reading is Captured , Through measurement documents regularly, EVEN IF THERE IS NO CHANGE TO THE COUNTER READING, Otherwise, the system generates call objects (for example, maintenance orders) based on the estimated annual performance entered for the counter, even though the counter reading has not in reality been reached.
for ex: owing to a vehicle breakdown/ repair if the vehicle has been in repair shop for a month,To avoid a maintenance order being created before it is needed, you maintain the new total counter reading in the system regularly over the period of the month. You then reschedule the maintenance plan using IP30, and the call date is recalculated based on the updated counter reading. In this case, the call date would be later.

  • Database updates statistics maintenance plan issue.

    Hi team,
We are configured one job through maintenance plan that job name is “database update statistics” and database size is 280 Gb, this job executing 13 to 15 hours but job was not finished  still it’s continually running.
This same job I am running through below script it’s executing within 2 hours.
    Use database
    Go
    Exec sp_updatestats
What is the main problem if this maintenance plan.
Note: on this server no jobs and no traffic, only abc_update subpaln1 Job.

    Hello,
Updating stats for whole database which is 280 G will always result in problem. It is better to run update statistics for tables and indexes which are changed frequently.
Now to your question few points which sp_Updatestas list in BOL
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms173804.aspx
sp_updatestats updates statistics on disabled nonclustered indexes and does not update statistics on disabled clustered indexes.
sp_updatestats updates only the statistics that require updating based on the rowmodctr information in the sys.sysindexes catalog view, thus avoiding unnecessary updates of statistics
    on unchanged rows.

  • Deadline monitoring in preventive maintenance plan scheduling

    Dear Experts,
we are having only single cycle time based & performance based preventive maintenance plans. The individual plans are weekly, monthly or based on specific counter readings. Now i want to schedule it automatically through IP30. since there are plans with different units like days or hours how can i schedule it through IP30? is it possible to run separate IP30 for counter based single cycle plans? Is it ok if I run the program on every midnight? I am confused on the scheduling through IP30. please give me the clarity...Please do the needful.
    Thanks & best regards,
    Praveen

    Praveen,
Yes you can run IP30 with single cycle plans.
As IP30 can run for many hours (dependent upon number of plans) it is best to schedule the IP30 job at a time when there are fewest users on-line e.g. midnight on Saturday or Sunday. The timing is very much dependent upon your organisation.
[Here|http://www.sapfans.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=316910] is some good background info.
It should be someones responsibility in your organisation to review the scheduling log after every IP30 run
