Bufg in entities from tables wizard

Environment Win XP 5.1.2600 Spanish; Jdeveloper 10132 with this table
SQL> desc linea;

The entities from tables wizard generates:

import javax.persistence.NamedQuery;
@Entity
@NamedQuery(name = "Linea.findAll", query = "select o from Linea o")
public class Linea implements Serializable {

import java.io.Serializable;
public class LineaPK implements Serializable {
    public LineaPK() {
    public boolean equals(Object other) {
        if (other instanceof LineaPK) {
            final LineaPK otherLineaPK = (LineaPK) other;
            final boolean areEqual = true;
            return areEqual;
        return false;
    public int hashCode() {
        return super.hashCode();
}The same with Jdev 10133. any ideas?? the code for the wizard have not changed between 10132 and 10133?
Thanks
Alex Urzola R.

It works for hr.departments; indeed the wizards generates some other entities in my project but generates this empty class with that table "Lineas" (which have a composite key) and when i ask to generate several entities aside with this one, it skip the generation of some other entity also.
Note I'm Using JDK 1.5.0_08-b03 which is NOT part of neither 10132 nor 10133 dist.

  • Newbie - JDev Missing Entities from Tables (JPA/EJB 3.0) Option

    I'm trying to run through the 'Introduction to EJB3.0 Using Oracle JDeveloper and OC4J' tutorial. One of the early steps says to select the 'Entities from Tables' option under the Business Tier/EJB category. I have six options available - CMP Entity Beans from Tables, EJB Data Control Wizard, EJB Diagram for EJB1.1, 2.0 and 2.1, Entity Bean, Message-Driven Bean, and Session Bean.
    I have JDev Studio Edition Verion 10.1.3.0.4 (SU5) - Build JDEVADF_10.1.3_NT_060125.0900.3673
    I just downloaded it from OTN last week. <I>Did I miss a step somewhere?</I>

    Thank you, Andrej. It appears the tutorial has not been updated for the version of JDev I have. I was able to get a few steps further down in the tutorial, but hit more stumbling blocks. This probably isn't something for a true java newbie to try. I'll see if I can find something more in line with my experience (or lack thereof).

  • Intermittent bug: Business Components from Tables wizard exception

    Hi JDev team
    Just to flag an exception I periodically get in JDev 11g TP with the Business Components from Tables wizard, once I've pressed Finish in the wizard:
    java.lang.NullPointerException

         at oracle.jbo.dt.ui.pkg.PKEntityThread.run(PKEntityThread.java:396)It is raised when the dialog displays showing the work JDev is doing after completing the wizard to create my business components.
    I'm not able to consistently reproduce this issue, though I've encountered it several times. Don't quote me, but it appears to happen the first time I use the wizard in a new JDev session, but is not reproducible again in the same session. However it doesn't always happen when I restart JDev and I'm sorry I can't be more precise.
    Hopefully the exception trace will give you enough information to track this issue down.
    Regards,
    CM.

    Hi Ric
    Unfortunately not really, it's a basic schema we use to test new software. One unusual thing is a hierarchical fk on the same table. But as I said the exception doesn't always occur, but annoyingly does seem to occur when I'm demoing the 11g TP version to clients. I was just hoping the stack trace would help out.
    I'll keep an eye on it and if I can work out why it's occurring I'll update this post.
    Thanks for following this up.
    Cheers,
    CM.

  • Create CMP Entity Beans from Tables Wizard - Can't see any tables with DB2

    Hi,
    I'm trying to use the "Create CMP Entity Beans from Tables Wizard" to create an entity from a table in a DB2 database. The problem is, on page 2, I can't see any available tables. I have verified that the connection works (I can open the connection in the Navigator frame and I can see that table).
    Note that if I try this wizard on an Oracle database, I can see tables.
    WTF? Can someone please help?

    I second the motion. I too work in an environment with centralized data management (DBA's) that create and maintain all tables under a generic schema. This has prevented me from using the Create Entity Beans from Table feature of Jdev r3 preview.
    At least I can see that I'm not alone.
    Thanks
    When I select the "Create CMP Entity Beans from Tables Wizard," no tables or views are available to select. The JDev database connection is using an ID assigned to me.
    The tables that I am looking for were created by the DBA under his ID and are therefore in that schema. He did create Public Synonyms for them, but the tables still do not show up in the wizard.
    Is there a configuration step that I need to do to have those tables show up?
    Tables created by a DBA and then accessed by developers using a public synonym is a very common scenario and should be supported by JDeveloper (IMO).
    Thanks.
    I'm using JDev 9.0.2.8.2.

  • Entities from (ms sql) tables = crash

    Hi,
    I'm trying to create entities from tables in ms sql server, but the wizard exits with no error message and the only entity generated has no members. The only message displayed in the EJB log is "Generating classes for Entity bean Name..."
    Is there any log where I could see what the problem is?

    Did you try running jdev\bin\jdev.exe from a console window - it should show any stack traces there.

  • Creating Entities from database tables ?

    Hi everyone,
    I am trying to prpare an entity relationship diagrams for a small application that about 5 or 6 tables. Can someone please let me know how I can reverse engineer or make entities from tables ?
    Thanks

    Hi there,
    I have checked to see that I" am using the correct container. Also this is a fresh Designer installation so there are not previous entities.
    I however notice a few warningas and and error. I am sure this should not be the cause for me not seeing tables in the table to entoty retrofit but I may be wrong. I am seing the following warnings/ errors. Is this the cause of my problem or could it be something else.
    CDS-15317 Warning: invalid Database User reference ('RCAR') in Database Object Grant to 'RCAR' - ignored

  • Problem deleting from table with xmltype column

    Hi,
    Using a standard, simple screen (generated from JHeadstart), I don't seem to be able to delete from a table including an xmltype column. I have tried it even with a very simple mock table with only one column, an xmltype column, and every time I check the "delete" box and click "save", I get the following error:
    oracle.jbo.RowInconsistentException: JBO-25014: Another user has changed the row with primary key oracle.jbo.Key[33 ].
    I have tried this in the JDeveloper application module tester too and the result is the same.
    Is it possible to delete a row from a table with an xmltype column? Am I doing something wrong? Is there something special needs done?
    As I say, I did this with a one-xmltype-column table using the "Business Components from Tables" wizard, accepting all the defaults.
    Thanks,
    Darren

    In short you want
    SELECT extractvalue(myxml, '/PurchaseOrder/Reference')
    FROM dab_test;This difference is that for dab_xml, there are no columns defined for the table, therefore you are [OBJECT_VALUE|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28286/pseudocolumns006.htm#sthref830] as an alias for a non existent column.
    With dab_test, you have a column that contains the XML so you need to use that column name instead of OBJECT_VALUE.

  • Take input from table control using wizard

    Dear experts,
    I am trying to take data from table control into internal table using wizard.
    In main report program i defined the internal table and used wizard after  that.
    I could see internal table there and i picked the fields i wanted.
    Also i defined a workarea of same time.Further i made a push button.
    In PAI user command module i specified
    loop at itab. (one used for table control data)
    endloop.
    Here i put break point and find that no data is coming from grid.
    With wizard what additional i have to do ?

    Hi
    PROCESS AFTER INPUT.
    MODULE USER_COMMAND_2209.  "do processing
    loop at itab.
       module UPDATE.                           "read from tbl ctl into db table using wa.
    endloop.
    DATA:   itab TYPE TABLE OF YSTUDENT WITH HEADER LINE,
                WA LIKE LINE OF ITAB.
    MODULE UPDATE INPUT.
    WA-ID = YSTUDENT-ID.
    WA-NAME = YSTUDENT-NAME.
    INSERT YSTUDENT FROM WA.
    ENDMODULE.
    Instead of Insert into table, you can write: APPEND WA TO ITAB.
    Also YSTUDENT-ID is the name of the column in your tbl ctrl.
    Make sure your PBO also loops thro the itab:
    loop at itab with control tab1.
    endloop.
    Hope this helps

  • NO Links or Associations created with the "Business Components From Tables"

    Hello,
    I have a strange problem. I'm working on a Fusion Web Applicaiton. In the Model project, I try to create some Business Components from Tables with the help of the provided wizard.
    I select one of my IDE Connections, and I choose two of my tables as Entity Objects (*PATIENTS* and COUNTRIES - more details about them bellow), and also as Updatable View Objects. For Read-Only View Objects I select some other tables, afterwards I choose to create a default Application Module, and I press Finish without creating a Business Diagram. Everything works perfectly except of the fact that the wizzard has created everything but the Links and the Associations between my tables.
    To be more precise, COUNTRIES is a simple table, only two columns - ID and NAME, and PATIENTS has some columns like ID, NAME, ADDRESS, DATE_OF_ADMISSION, COUNTRY_ID, where COUNTRY_ID is a foreign key to the COUNTRIES table. Both columns, PATIENTS.COUNTRY_ID and COUNTRIES.ID are NUMBERs. I was expectig the wizard to create a Link and a Association for this foreign key constraint I have between this two tables.
    On the other hand, following one of the tutorials I've found, *"Developing RIA Web Applications with Oracle ADF"*, I've noticed that when I was creating Business Components from Tables based on the HR schema, all the Links and Associations were created as they were expected. I've also tried to create the same Business Components from Tables in my own project, and all the Links and Associations were in place. Somehow, it's not working for my particular schema (the one that contains PATIENTS and COUNTRIES).
    Is there something I do wrong? I've made sure that all the FK constraints are enabled, alive and kicking. From my point of view, the tables are working and behavig as they should, but I can't understand why that feature of automatically creating the Links and Associations works on the HR schema but not on mine.
    Please help!
    Bogdan.
    PS: I am using Oracle JDeveloper Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.1.0, Oracle SQL Developer Version 1.5.5, and Oracle 10g Express Edition installed on localhost.

    Hello John,
    Of course I can post the scripts.
    The schema name is "TEST". But you should know that there are some extra columns in the PATIENTS table, I've not mentioned before. As you can tell from the scripts bellow, the PATIENTS table has the following columns: ID (number), NAME (varchar2), COUNTRY (number), GENDER (number), ADMISSIONDATE (date), DIAGNOSTIC (number), FIRSTNAME (varchar2), SALARY (number). There are actually 3 FK constraints, I've only mentioned one for the simplifying the example. The first FK constraint is towards COUNTRIES, the second one is towards GENDERS, and the final one is towards DIAGNOSTICS. All this 3 tables have only two columns (ID as number, and GENDER as varchar2). I will post the scripts for all.
    Here is the output of the Export DDL to Clipboard from SQL Developer for the COUNTRIES table:

  • How to do a JSP talks with my "EJB from tables" ?

    Hi !!
    I'm new to Jdev.
    I have built a database, using MySql, and I also have built EJB from my tables.
    My EJB are Entity Beans and I have used the Wizard to create it from tables of my data base.
    Every EJB is working well and I have a simple JAVA client application which can use my
    beans to edit data in my database.
    Now I need create JSP pages that will use my beans, to edit my database too.
    So, I have created a new project and in this project I have built a JSP page, in the same workspace
    that has my beans' project.
    But I don't know what must I do to put my JSP page connected with my beans.
    1) What must I do?
    2) Is it possible to put a JSP page talking with a Entity Bean, or it will be necessary to create session beans?
    3) Is my beans' project a BC4J project? If not, how to change my beans' project to this goal?
    Any hint will be very helpful?
    Thanks.
    Rodrigo Pimenta Carvalho.
    Brazil.

  • 10.1.3.2 Does not handle Entity 3.0 beans from Tables like 10.1.3.1

    In 10.1.3.1 I was running the J2EE tutorial with the SR demo application . When you generate an entity bean from the Tables ServiceRequest and ServiceHistories you get two beans one for each and they have @OneToMany and @join meta data. The same process in 10.1.3.2 only creates one bean at a time and the @join and @OneToMany columns are not created.
    Has anyone tried this. 10.1.3.2 seems broken for entity beans from tables.

    Seems to work fine for me.
    I'm not sure I understand the remark "10.1.3.2 only creates one bean at a time" - do you mean you had to go through the wizard twice?
    I just chose both tables in step 1 of the wizard and the two beans were created with the relationship defined between them.

  • CMP Beans from Tables: Why does the Container try to create new tables?

    I'm trying to develop an EJB application using JDeveloper on 9iAS. I have several CMPs and have my tables that I want my CMPs to be based on already defined in my DB schema. I want to use CMP but I don't want the Container to create the tables, rather I want the Container to map my CMP EJBs to the already existing tables.
    The issue is:
    While creating these CMP EJBs in JDeveloper I chose the "New Enterprise Java Bean" EJB creation wizard using the option labeled "Container-managed Entity Beans from Tables". My assumption is that this does what I want, because the wizard prompts for a schema and table you want to map to. Then it creates the attributes & getter/setter methods, PK class, etc. all based on the table defintion automatically. Great. So why when I try to run my application do I get error messages for each EJB such as:
    Auto-creating table: create table STREET_TYPE (PK_STYP_ID NUMBER(8), STREET_TYPE VARCHAR2(20), primary key (PK_STYP_ID, STREET_TYPE))
    Warning: Error creating table: ORA-00955: name is already used by an existing object
    Huh?? I thought the idea is that the CMP EJB is mapped to the existing table in my schema. Why is the Container trying to create new tables?? Is this possible? Or am I missing something fundamental about how Containers create and manage CMPs? Or is this just a JDevelop container issue? TIA

    I presume you are getting the problem on application
    deploy? This happens when upon initialization of the application using the built-in OC4J container/app server that is part of JDeveloper. Here is the full messaging:

    If so, in the application.xml file of you
    OC4J instance the is a setting autocreate-tables,

    Set it to false as below and that should clear up
    your problem.

    I have tried this out in the EA release of JDev, and have reproduced the problem you reported. However, trying out the latest development build, the problem does not occur, so this bug has been fixed. You'll pick up this fix when we next release the software on OTN.
