Bug: export flash as image with smooth

I created a banner with flash CS4. So, I exported it as png to print in great scale.
I noticed when I select a higher dpi to export, the exporter cuts off a part of the image. I tried this with 300 dpi.
When I deselect the smooth option, the export works fine. I also used png because I need the alpha channels.
You can try this even in CS3 too.
Thanks.

I am running into the same problem and have some easy to repro steps.
1.  Create a new flash project and set the document size to 792x1224 (which is 11x17 inches at 72 dpi)
2.  Draw a rectangle (with a border of a different color) at each corner of the document. (so a total of 4 rects)
3.  File -> Export Image -> Save as PNG with settings: 250 dpi, Full Document Size, 24 bit (the rest dont matter as far as I could tell)
4.  View exported file and see the rects at the bottom being cropped.
I'm actually trying to export at 300 or 600 dpi but 250 dpi illustrates the problem clearly.
Hope there is a fix for this.

  • Aperture - Export the edited images with changes

    Hello
I recently purchased Aperture and have a SLR camera (Pentax K-X) and a GPS logger (Holux M-241). I record my images in DNG format (Adobe RAW format).
I've tried to import my images into Aperture, where I've added commentary and edited my pictures. Now I would like to export my photos (originals), where I can either save images as "Include IPTC" or "Create IPTC4XMP sidecar file". I might have saved my comments, but the changes I've made the pictures are not appearing when I imported the images again from the folder where I have exported my edited images (related to exports, I have chosen "Create IPTC4XMP sidecar file "). Why can not I see my edited photos?
Is it not possible to save the XMP sidecar file as embedded in your DNG files, which I know you can do with Adobe Photoshop?

What you want to do is a contradiction in itself - in Aperture you either export the originals or the versions. The originals will give you exactly the original images that you imported, optionally with IPTC added annotions, but without edits.
If you want to export the edited image, you will have to render the edited version and to export a version, not an original. You have many presets for the format of the edited version to choose from, but not a raw format. The closest you can get will be exporting as tiff or psd original size.

  • Exporting flash video made with swift 3d to animated gif help

I know there is a new grounds link about setting your publishing settings to get animated gifs to work with flash.
I am using CS4 and when I go to publish the gif works in the html document. But when I export to an animated gif it is still a still picture.
I have also tried to export to a quicktime file and it's is a still picture there too and distorted.
Can anyone help me out? Should exporting to png or gif sequence work as well?

turns out the swift 3d tutorial has you put the animation in a single keyframe within layer one.
so only one frame is shown or created. there go it stays static
now if someone could help me wiht resizing a gif for fireworks i would be the happest person

  • Possible bug in flash player 9 with video..somewhat urgent help

    Hi,
I was making a site based on heavy use of video. The site was
working just fine, the videos played well, actionscript ok, etc.
Last night I upgraded my flash player, and suddenly the site looks
    completely broken.
Videos now have large pixels and they don't play right.
I uninstalled flash player 9, went back to 8, and there they
    work ok again.
Originally they had not the best quality to save bandwidth,
but they looked just fine for the scope of the site. If I re-encode
them to a higher quality, they look better in FP9 but we're talking
about almost 60% more size to achieve what had been done correctly
with flash player 8. No one seems to have this problem right now,
but I think it is a major issue, cause not everyone is using 400kb
to encode the videos. It must have something to do with the codec
inside the plugin, they way it handles everything in low
    resolution.
I have to say I tried everything: quality =high, embedded
video, flv progressive, 100%quality to JPG when publishing, etc.
The video looks bad ONLY with flash player 9. I am not allowed to
publish the address but I think this might have happened to someone
else too. please please any help appreciated, I'm on due date
(everything was finished!) and now it cannot be uploaded like this.
    thanks a lot!!
    Indira

Flash 9 is out of beta - d'oh!
Anyway, I have a few video's published on the web. They are
encoded at 400kb (medium quality/On2 codec). Check them out:
    http://www.lsac.org/lsac.asp?url=/VideoStreams/gettingthere/GettingThere.html&chapter=1
That video looks the same on Flash Player 8 and 9 on IE and
    Firefox.
I have no idea what is wrong with your videos, but there is
no bug in Player 9 as far as I can tell.
You have to publish at least one of your videos and it's url
so that I can see the problem that you are describing.

  • Exporting Flash to image

Im looking for the best way to export an image from flash for print.  I will be needing to print anywhere from about 12 inches long all the way up to as much as 6 ft long.  Ive tried export> image options but the quality is severely compromised.
    Thanks
    Brad

I haven't really found the need to export to Illustrator before. But I did run a couple tests earlier today, just nothing extensive.
What I do know is that Flash and AI handle color space differently, thus your color changes. When you try to open an .ai file that you exported from Flash, you should get a prompt about color space. Try the different settings and see which will get you artwork closest.
Since Flash and AI handle gradients differently, I found that AI will drop the gradients of anything from Flash and use the first most color for the object.
I didn't even look to see if my layers were still intact, but the vectors were all grouped when I opened in AI because they were movie clips in Flash. So, if AI is flattening your image, try turning them to groups or mcs in Flash before exporting.
This is all contingent on the fact that you may want to be able to manipulate your artwork in AI after exporting from Flash.
You could export a png from Flash as well. Vector artwork comes out pretty nice. I suggest the following:
    1. Make sure all your artwork to export is inside of a movie clip.
    2. If you have mulitple piece of art to export, put each in their own mc and then into their own fla.
    3. put your main container mc on the main stage and highlight it.
    4. File>Export Image
    5. Select PNG
    6. When the options prompt appears, change to "Minimum Image Area" not "Stage Size", change your size and dpi - probably 300dpi. (I would use PhotoShop ot AI to figure out the physical dimensions)
    7. Save.

  • Exporting Versions to image with meta data

Hey folks, I'm looking to find an Aperture Plugin that will export processed images (versions) with all its associated meta data in XML format.
I intend to use this exported data in a custom application - I've seen export plugins to Picasa, and others, but so far they just seem to handle the images alone.
Can anyone suggest a location to where I might find such a beast? (or is anyone in development of this? - I'm very surprised it isn't included as a built-in feature.
    Thanks in advance,

Has anyone had success with Ubermind's Aperture to FileMaker?
I've had it work once or twice, but usually, despite rigorously following their apparently simple instructions, Aperture refuses to recognize the database.
Would be pleased to know if there's something they haven't been clear about in their instructions.

  • Exporting Flash to Director WITH video

In Flash, I have created a digital camera, that, when a
button is pressed, the screen changes from showing pictures to
showing a video. This works all fine and well in Flash, however, it
has to work in Director. Now I imported it into Director, obviously
using version:Flash 6, but because of it being version 6, the video
didnt work, so i tried version 7, where the sound of the video
works, but no picture. version 8 isn't supported by the director im
    using (MX 2004).
Does anyone know of a way that I can get around this?
Its so frustrating as it works fine in Flash!

On the Mac - exporting to "Quicktime Video" produces a true
video file (fixed frame rate). It is not
an SWF on a track in the quicktime player - Windows users
only yhave the option to export a flash
    track to QT.
On the Mac, exporting to just quicktime produces a flash
    movie in QT.
The easiest way to tell is to look at the file size of the
SWF and then exported MOV - the MOV will
be MUCH larger - probably hundreds of MBs while the SWF may
only be 100k (give or take).

  • How to save/export image with 3D grid

I am in CS6 with the 3D workspace selected. I need to export/save the image with the grid viewable. I know this is possible as I have seen it on a few other images. The catch is I need it 300 dpi so I cannot just screen shot as png.

I don't understand what's the problem? Can you please elaborate? Show some code snippets and tell where you stucks on.

  • Images with Transparency

I am wondering if anyone can tell me the best way to supply a designer with an image for Final Cut that will hold its transparent background when imported? The designer claims that the psd, tiff and jpg with alpha channels that I sent over will only import with a white background. How can we prevent the white background from happening?

    Welcome to the family.
JPG doesn't support alpha so, umm, don't use that one.
Test it before it leaves your shop. This simple operation saves lots of hassles with uptight Photoshop folks who have absolutely no clue what video is all about. Wait till she asks you for more dpi.
There's no secret to exporting a still image with an alpha channel but there must be actual transparency and there must be no underlying layer in your sequence. What filter are you using to generate the key or matte? Is it rendered?
From the information you have provided in your post, there's no way for us to know if your sequence is set up properly or that the element you are trying to export even has an alpha channel.

  • Export PNG images with alpha channel from flash

    Hi,
I have this FLA with animation and when played, the animation has alpha channel. I can’t understand why when I look in the library I see the frames without the alpha channel and also when I try to export/extract the image again the image don’t have alpha channel.
How is it that in flash this image has alpha channel and how to get it out like that into PNG?
Here is the link to download the FLA:
    http://download759.mediafire.com/nb749r29220g/e0636ab0ru6ouoa/Untitled-1.fla

"when played, the animation has alpha channel"
how are you playing the animation? control/enter in Flash, Publishing to a Web page or what?
How can you tell that the animation has the alpha channel? What exactly are you seeing?
What is the aniimation? a series of images, one image moving? Are teweens imvolved?
" when I try to export/extract the image again the image don’t have alpha channel"
How are you exporting the image? is it a single image? or a series of frames that makes up an animation?
What was the file format of the original image? you brought that image into Flash and animated it? Now you want to export as a .png with transparency?
Have you ever tried to export a  simple .png before so that you see and understand the dialog box that pops up during export? are you chosing "24 bit with alpha channel" in the "Colors" choice?
For those of us who may not want to download your file, please provide a more detailed describtion of everything related to this question.
    Best wishes,

  • Exporting flash professional 5.5 image assets

I am having some trouble exporting flash professional 5.5 image assets to pngs (or any other image format with an alpha channel).
In Flash Professional 5.5, I bring up the library window, select one of the images, and then right click to select "Edit with Photoshop", which then opens the image in Photoshop. However, it also seems to replace the transparent alpha channel with a dark green (?). Without even saving the file in Photoshop, Flash Professional then shows the image with a dark green background too. I also tried exporting to Paint.net, but had the same problem.
Anyone know how to export an image from a Flash Professional file into a more standard image format?

Are you sure that you have the line smoothing option selected in the bottom of the tool bar? You might try re-installing the wacom driver, or delete the Flash preferences.

  • Could work an animated flash bitmap image exported in html 5, in DPS ?

I'm new in DPS, just started for a couple of weeks and I need to use a image in an animation.
I created the animation in inDesign exported in .fla, used de toolkit js, load it in a container with web content overlay, and when I preview it with Adobe Content Viewer it doesn't work, it apears a blank screen. Neighter of animation from that stage won't work.
To be very precise any animation works fine, when I test the html in a browser, the problem appears only in the content viewer.
The animation is very simple: smal logo entering in the stage from the right, not very complex.
I tried in flash with other images in a test file and loaded in inDesign, and still don't work. Other vector animation works well, no problem. I saw that if I have an image in library in flash and export a simple animation with a vector ball, won't work in indesign preview, with content viewer.
My question is, Could work an animated flash bitmap image exported in html 5, in DPS ?  If so, what should I need to do ?
    Thank you in advance.

Two possible solutions I was considering:
    1) In my index/first page, have all the swfs present (scaled to 1x1, behind something, or invisible) and have a preloader code on that first page... so all the content gets loaded before continuing onto the rest of the site.  That would certainly work in making the site run quick... but would mean a relatively lengthy wait at the start.  Luckily, unlike my current site, all the actual site content (aside from the header/nav interface) is HTML... so the bulk of the site's content is in the HTML pages, not as part of the Flash header... so it probably wouldn't be too horrific a wait.  However, it would be loading EIGHT of these swfs, since there are eight pages... so then maybe it would be....
    2) Have an swf that consists of just the 'draw up' of the interface, and it's idle state... then when each button is pressed, load a new swf to replace the main one, which has the specific page's animated title sequence, and ends with the code to load the html page.  So, each separate HTML page would have embedded into it only the main swf, and the title animation swf would be swapped in when a nav button is pressed.  Main issue here is each button press would envoke a preloader sequence (kind of tedious)... and unfortunately all the 'main interface' elements loaded in with the main swf would have to be loaded in again at the start of each animated title swf (although none of the draw up... just the loading of the interface and buttons).  For highspeed users, it should be okay, I guess....
    Thoughts or better ideas?

  • Small Bug in Flash 8: loading swf that´s a vectorized image in many layers

Hi! There´s a small bug in flash 8. If you load a swf
that it´s a vectorized image in many layers, when you give it
an action in onLoadInit, like mc.onRelease, the mc don´t
"catch" that action. You can try loading an image (it works), a lot
of swf (it works), but with this kind of swf the actions onRelease,
    onPress, etc... don´t work.
    The
    swf
I´ll make a different vectorized image to make it works
(if there is only one layer it works)

Seems odd it will only run once. Usually if a cache problem
    you get the same
results even when you update the movie or server scripts.
    If it is
http:// it is not local even if from the browser
    cache.
    Verify the html is validated.
Check to see if this applies to all swfs. Create a simple
    hello world swf
that connects to a JSP script that returns a simple value to
    Flash. If that
seems to work, then the problem is in the JSP or
    Actionscripting coding.
Check you can load the JSP script repeatedly using a direct
    call to it on
    the browser line using
    http://.
