Its occurs on live USB?
Try to hit 'e' on grub menu, edit 'gfxpayload=keep' to 'gfxpayload=disable' and F10.

  • Small Basic bugs: Graphics Window errors

    I apologise that this is in the wrong category, I could not find one that fit the subject.
    I have found several bugs in the Small Basic Graphics Window handling, such as unintended application termination and resizing errors while hidden. Here is some code including most of them:
    GraphicsWindow.Hide()
    GraphicsWindow.ShowMessage("Showing GW","Debugger")
    GraphicsWindow.Show()
    GraphicsWindow.ShowMessage("Size: "+GraphicsWindow.Width+"*"+GraphicsWindow.Height,"Debugger")
    GraphicsWindow.ShowMessage("Hiding GW","Debugger")
    GraphicsWindow.Hide()
    GraphicsWindow.ShowMessage("Size: "+GraphicsWindow.Width+"*"+GraphicsWindow.Height,"Debugger")
    GraphicsWindow.ShowMessage("Resizing GW to 800*600","Debugger")
    GraphicsWindow.Width=800
    GraphicsWindow.Height=600
    GraphicsWindow.ShowMessage("Size: "+GraphicsWindow.Width+"*"+GraphicsWindow.Height,"Debugger")
    GraphicsWindow.ShowMessage("Showing GW","Debugger")
    GraphicsWindow.Show()
    GraphicsWindow.ShowMessage("Size: "+GraphicsWindow.Width+"*"+GraphicsWindow.Height,"Debugger")
    GraphicsWindow.ShowMessage("Resizing GW to current size","Debugger")
    GraphicsWindow.Width=GraphicsWindow.Width
    GraphicsWindow.Height=GraphicsWindow.Height
    GraphicsWindow.ShowMessage("Size: "+GraphicsWindow.Width+"*"+GraphicsWindow.Height,"Debugger")
    GraphicsWindow.ShowMessage("Resizing GW to 800*600","Debugger")
    GraphicsWindow.Width=800
    GraphicsWindow.Height=600
    GraphicsWindow.ShowMessage("Size: "+GraphicsWindow.Width+"*"+GraphicsWindow.Height,"Debugger")
    On a Windows 7 machine there are the following bugs, which either seem not to apply in Windows 8.1 or do not appear with this code:
    When the Enter key is pressed on a GW message without the GW showing, the program ends, whereas when the button is clicked, the program continues as expected.
    When the GW is hidden, it does not resize properly in certain scenarios and the Height and Width properties stop returning meaningful values if set to a value.
    These errors can cause unwanted behaviour and could well break a program. Could somebody verify these please.

    Congrats to Nonki and ME!!!! =^)

  • Imac intel core duo 20" bug graphics

    bonjour,
    merci d'avance.
    a bientot.

    Depends on how intensive you plan on getting with the iMac. For the most part, it should run pretty well. When the Adobe products become universal they should fly. I currently run all the same software plus Maya on my iMac G5 2.1 GHZ w/o a problem, so they should run just as well on the intel (more so when all apps become universal). I actually plan on selling the G5 and picking up the intel version so I can run boot camp and 3D Max as as well.

  • Best Practices for Exporting with Bug overlay

    I'm trying to optimize a bug graphic so as to speed up exports from FCP. I'm working at XDCam 1080i/60 (timeline + footage) and have experimented with different types of bugs, all PSD files. Here's what I've found exporting a 10 min. segment:
    No bug = 3 min. export
    96x96 pixel PSD of the bug positioned in the corner (semi-transparent)= 15 min. export
    1920x1080 PSD with the bug pre-positioned in corner (semi-transparent) = 15 min.
    1920x1080 PSD with the bug pre-positioned in corner (opaque) = 15 min.
    It seems such a simple overlay shouldn't demand so much reprocessing and take so long. Any ideas how to make this more efficient? I don't want to add a bug via Compressor as I want to retain control of what moments in the program the bug displays.

    Render to full before you export and all the times will match. The bug image size does not effect the render time as each frame has to be compressed separately. The only time it will make a difference is if you're scaling and positioning the bug to fit the screen, but if you position and size it correctly in Photoshop it will speed by the render time. XDCAM BTW is a dog to process because of its GOP structure.

  • Migrating a test site to an existing BC site

    I am trying to migrate a site creating as a trial using a BC GURUS template to an existing e-commerce site hosted by BC.
    Is there any easy way to do this without having to recreate modules, web forms, etc - basically all the work I did with the trial?  I'd love to just ditch the existing site and go with the new one, but I would be forfeiting customer orders, cases, and pretty much all reports, etc, right?
    In the future I am definitely creating a test directory within the existing site to avoid this mess, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • [solved]UT2004 game library problem

    Hello !
    So I tried to install my old ut2004 game (native with linux), install went smooth except some errors I can barely see in the console installer because it bugs graphically...
    When I try to launch the game, I get :
    ./ut2004-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
    After a quick search with find on the library (sudo find / -name "libstdc++*" I obtain :
    /usr/share/gdb/auto-load/usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6.0.17-gdb.py
    /usr/lib32/libstdc++.so
    /usr/lib32/libstdc++.so.6
    /usr/lib32/libstdc++.so.6.0.17
    /usr/lib/libstdc++.so
    /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6
    /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6.0.17
    I guess I can not have ut2004 to work with the version 6 of the library, that means I have to install the version 5, but is it ok to have several version of the same library on the same machine? Pacman didn't find the version 5, meaning I would have to install the library without it, I guess that's not very 'clean' either...
    Any help on which direction I should take is appreciated

    Version 5: http://www.archlinux.org/packages/?q=libstdc%2B%2B5
    I don't recall any problems using this package.
    AUR has some UT2k4 "packages", so you can always check what dependencies they list, e.g.: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=6659
    Even 'pacman -Ss libstdc' would tell you that libstdc++5 is in [extra].

  • Artifacts in game

    I want your input on a problem I am having with a game (COH I) ran on wine. It worked previously, now it has artifacts; I tested with another game (Warcraft III) and it has no artifacts.
    This is probably a bug.
    So my question is:
    ¿Where should I submit a bug report?
    to winehq?
    to mesa?
    to xorg?
    Some info about my system:
    uname -r
    3.12.7-2-ARCH
    glxinfo
    OpenGL renderer string: Gallium 0.4 on AMD RV710
    OpenGL core profile version string: 3.1 (Core Profile) Mesa 10.0.2
    OpenGL core profile shading language version string: 1.40
    Xorg.0.log
    X.Org X Server 1.15.0
    wine --version
    wine-1.7.10
    Thanks you.

    Artifact are usually caused by:
    drivers bug
    graphics card is underpowered
    graphics card is diying
    I would say neither wine, nor mesa nor xorg have anything to do with it -but don't take my word for granted, i'm not such a guru-.
    You could try another graphics demanding game -not warcraft3-, just to check if artifacts still appear. But I can't give you any solution, sorry

  • Thank you Creative for wrecking my LCD Display on my Desk

    I have just installed the new update to get rid of the screeching because I use 4GB of Ram. After installing the update for my soundcard I can't use the LCD Display and can't use the remote control to fire up my TV card, DVD Player or anything else that use the remote control as it is a multimedia PC.
    So Thanks To Creative Labs for another botched job....
    It works with the normal drivers that come with the disk, but the sound is crap as I need for 4GB for what I do for work. I think that this is the last straw now. I'm looking for a new Sound Card.

    I don't deny there are issues. However a vague statement like "wrecking my LCD Display on my desktop"? That's a new one to me.
    AFAIK the only way a _driver_ could wreck a monitor would be to change the refresh rate too high or resolution too high (and most monitors will recognize this and just turn themselves off.) Obviously the driver didn't "wreck" OP's LCD display because the display works when he installs the old driver.
    "Wreck" is his word, not mine.
    This is all assuming we're talking about his monitor, not something else....it isn't clear.
    Unfortunately drivers have bugs, games have bugs, windows has bugs, graphic cards have bugs, CPU's have bugs... I could go on and on. Thats just the way it is with home computers and windows. Buy a Mac if you want _less_ issues but you still won't be safe...
    My 2 cents.

  • Bug in exists() function of XI Graphical Mapping Tool?

    Hi!
    If I connect a source field with the exists() function in XI Graphical Mapping Tool and the tag exists it returns TRUE, otherwise it returns FALSE, so everything works as expected.
    But I have to connect a user-defined function with exists(). The user-defined function will either calculate a value or set Resultset.SUPPRESS.
    If there is a value the exits() function returns TRUE, however if Resultset.SUPPRESS is set it does also return TRUE! This looks to me like a bug in exists() function. Shouldn't it always return FALSE if the input is Resultset.SUPPRESS?
    Regards, Tanja

    Hi Stefan!
    > The exists() function checks, if a queue is empty.
    > An empty queue is <b>not</b> represented by the
    > SUPPRESS value.
    > If inside a queue there is a SUPPRESS value, the
    > queue is <b>not</b> empty.
    Ok, so it's not a bug and the exists() function is working as expected.
    > If you want the exist() function after a UDF, provide
    > an empty queue, or easier: return the values "true"
    > or "false" directly from the UDF.
    Yes, that's how I actually solved the problem. The UDF was used at several places where the ResultList.SUPPRESS output was needed. So I copied the UDF and changed it so that the output was TRUE or FALSE instead.

  • Serious W7 Bug - ALL ATi Drivers for Thinkpads /w Switchable Graphics Technology bricks OS.

    Alas, i have found one serious bug for my Thinkpad.
    It comes with Switchable Graphics Card Technology, with an Intel GMA 4500MHD and ATi Mobility Radeon 3470 paired together.
    I have initially installed Pre-RTM 7260(ok, i know it's leaked), and faced the problem for the first time after installing the ATi drivers from either Windows Update OR ATi's website. However i have downgraded back to Release Candidate as there was stability issues with EXPLORER.exe
    Anyway, surprising what i've though to be a show-stopper bug was also present in RC 7100. After installing(or rather, midway through) the driver installation, the screen blinks for a moment and after that, Explorer.exe is nowhere to be found with only wallpaper. OS seems to be bricked as restart does nothing. Only a System Restore prior to installation would solve the issue.
    After diagnosing the problem, i have found the issue to be with the Switchable Graphics Card system. In BIOS, it was set to Swithable Graphics, with OS Detection set to Enabled, Thinkpad LCD Display(for output). I tried to set the graphics to either Discrete(ATi) or Integrated(Intel) but when i booted the system up it was in SVGA resolution and DXDIAG stating no graphics found. When it was in Discrete, i tried to install the ATi drivers once again, and although installation was successful, after restarting the same thing happened.
    To be fair, i have repeated the drivers installation EXACTLY the same for both Windows 7 Builds(7100 RC and 7260 Pre-RTM) and the same problem occured. I have also tried to install the ATi drivers before the Intel Chipset(and basically the rest) and it's the same nevertheless.
    I believe that this is a serious issue with Switchable Graphics Technology for Windows 7 Beta, since we have to make do with the generic Microsoft display adapter alone. I hope Lenovo engineers can put priority a solution for this as soon as possible.

    This is my updates.
    PS: The Ati card is showing a triangle icon in Device Manager too, but i guess updating it brings the same bricking result.

    Sorry to hear you are having difficulties.
    When I installed RC1 (build 7100), it came with a built-in driver that worked just fine for the discrete graphics in my W500.
    A few weeks later, I installed the current release Vista driver for integrated graphics (this one) and it is working just fine as well.  Installing the Lenovo driver gave me the ATI control panel (not sure what use that is), otherwise, it didn't affect performance either way.
    I have switchable graphics turned off in the BIOS, OS detection turned off, and have the machine set to use the discrete graphics only.  I think it would be a bit much to expect either Microsoft or Lenovo to support the switchable graphics this early in the development of Windows 7.  Besides, the discrete graphics doesn't eat up the battery that much - I still get 3 hours of battery life, which is sufficient for my needs.
    Maybe try turning switchable graphics and switchable graphics detection off in your BIOS, that might get you running again.

  • MS-6368 graphics bug

    I'm a newcomer on MSI product as well as this forum.
    Recently, I purchase a MS-6368 MB with a Celeron 1.3G. I do admit it's a high value for money (CPU+MB costs me just about HKD$800 or USD$100 in Hong Kong). As I'm not a 3D gamer and not expect much in integrated graphics performance (apart from playing DVD/VCD occasionally), however, I found that there're a lots of undoubtful flaw in graphics.
    Here's my bug reported against VT8601T based MS-6368 MB. It happened even I freshly installed the system by formatting the whole harddisk and of course no tweaking ever.
    Also, may I know should I report the bug to VIA and how to do so?

  • Graphics render bug in FCP 6 and 7 - Dare to prove me wrong?

    I have an issue with an HD video that contains red and purple text and graphics in the edit. I've looked for an answer tirelessly online, with friends, and through trial and error for a good 7 hours before giving up. Here's the deal,
    Sequence settings: HD 1440x1080 16:9, 23.98, HDV 1080p24 for editing the canon7d footage that came in - this however doesn't matter because i tested with every setting imaginable including animation raw and ended up with the same results for the graphics problem I'm having (kind of unrelated to the actual footage).
    I need to output this 9 minute edit I have to an HD file 1280x720 for youtube upload. So, it has to be under 2gb (youtube's limit) but for client purposes, it needs to be crisp and great looking as you would imagine.
    I have a bunch of PSDs, each show a different line drawing of a brush. For each one, the line is a different color. For any of the colors that aren't red or purple, they render crisp and wonderful in final cut pro over top the video. However, the graphics that have the lines that are red or purple, come out pixelated and blurry no matter how i try to render them. The only solution that worked was to render and output them with the animation codec. ProRes HQ worked too but not as well. However, this makes a file way too big. Whenever I went from animation to h264 or from FCP to h264, or any other web friendly format, graphics come out way pixelated. It makes me frustrated as to why all the graphics that were exactly the same except not red or purple came out perfectly crisp. Also, why is animation codec the only codec out there (besides uncompressed obviously) that will create clean edges in these red/purple graphics?
    Conclusion: Found that reds and purples are the only colors that seem to be effected when rendering the graphics. Everything else comes out nicely. Animation and pro res codecs aside, any codec making the video small enough for the web (less than 2gb) resulted in the problem of pixelation with the red and purple graphics. Based on extensive research I did online, I was surprised not to find many people posting about the exact same problem. For the issues I did find that seemed related, people concurred that HD nor regular DV video do a good job rendering bright reds or variations of red. Because I found no solutions online or from all the things I tried in the list below
    -re-rendered the PSD's in Final cut pro with variation of sequence setting to see if that would make any difference - it didn't. Tried all kinds of different settings in export for h264, keyframes, max quality, etc. no luck.
    -tried rendering to "Animation/uncompressed" as far through the process as possible. For instance, I outputted a perfectly crisp "Animation" file that was perfect looking. As soon as I re-exported to h264, mpeg4, or sorenson, or any other codec dropping the file size down, all results returned pixelated results for the reds and purple graphics.
    -made sure photoshop settings were all good, even copied and pasted psd into new 1920x1080 project, played with DPI up to 300 to see if it did anything, saved as different formats TIFF, png, eps, layers, flattened, 8-bit, 24-bit, 36-bit, etc., none of the formats worked correctly.
    -outputted my own purple and red graphics and text and rendered in final cut to see if the file had anything to do with it. same problem with my red and purple graphics and text.
    -Tried adding slight moving grain to the graphic in Final cut to try and trick FCP to thinking it was a video instead of a graphic and therefore render it smoothly.
    -consulted with 2 other video editors/media experts, ended up frustrating them as well (and hurting their ego a little since they were sure they could figure it out)
    -Ran the shot and graphic through after effects and premiere pro separately (different video programs) to see if final cut pro was causing the problem, same problem with those programs.
    -tried rendering on a different mac, still the same.
    -Actually upgraded my final cut pro version to the new version (now Final cut studio 3). Ran tests on new version of final cut pro, same exact problem.
    -added black edge to purple graphics to see if that did anything different to the rendering. Didn't help
    -Changed the hue of the graphic to anything other than red or purple. Wouldn't you know...That fixed it.
    Here is a link to the Animation Output of a half second of the edit with a sample red graphic crisp as can be for you to test (12.7mb) -
    http://www.robinsonhope.com/downloads/makeup_animationtest.zip
    Here is a link to view screenshots before and after to show you what rendering does to the graphics.
    http://www.robinsonhope.com/downloads/makeup_ss.jpg
    In case you'd like to try and find a solution, please download the link to the HD animation half-second clip and output to h264 or any other web friendly codec that would show these red graphics clean and not blurry and pixelated. Other rule is after doing the math, a 9 minute video with the compression you choose would need to be under 2gb. This shouldn't be too much of a problem because even a 1280x720 h264 at max quality for a 9min video is still under 2gb.
    The first person to show me that you are truly a FCP guru and can solve this, post a link of your successful solution, I will praise you as genius all over this forum. I will also be eternally grateful. Live in LA? I'll also buy you dinner, Haha. But seriously...

    Welcome to this forum,
    Sorry to hear you so struggling with this issue.
    And I doubt whether I can solve this for you, but I can say a few things.
    The title of this thread is:
    Graphics render bug in FCP 6 and 7 - Dare to prove me wrong?
    I'll prove you are wrong. Or actually you've already proved yourself wrong in your post:
    -Ran the shot and graphic through after effects and premiere pro separately (different video programs) to see if final cut pro was causing the problem, same problem with those programs.
    Seams that I try to annoy you, but I'm not. It's not a joke. The fact that other applications can't handle it as well AND the fact that Animation Codec (Which is pretty lostless) does not have this problem, tells you that the problem is likely the low compression you want OR the footage itself. And I dare say it's BOTH.
    I downloaded your testfile and have opened it in FCP and I can see in the Vectorscope that your color Red is too hot.
    [Click here|http://i843.photobucket.com/albums/zz356/rienkL/Screenshot2010-04-02at1324 20.png] to see the vectorscope of your picture?
    You also see the small boxes (clockwise)
    Red, Magenta, Blue, Cyan, Green, Yellow. The signal of your picture should stay somewhere between those boxes. You should read [this article|http://www.larryjordan.biz/articles/lj_scopes.html] (two third on the page) about the vectorscope. Also has a picture with the range to be broadcast safe.
    So back to your picture and your vectorscope. You'll see that just along the right side of the R in the vectorscope there's a peak which goes way out of the range. And that's exactly the color of your graphic.
    I tried isolating that color, reducing the saturation, and then do an export, but that failed. You should adjust that within the PSD's first and then see how exporting goes.
    So now you are thinking: My client wants his own colors! Sure he does. But those colors were probably designed for print, which does have another colorrange. Simple technical story. You're bound to specific saturation. Going over that means troubles....
    And I'm not claiming that your problem will be solved when you adjust this. It is still possible that h264 just doesn't like red too much. Maybe that's on purpose. Our eyes are most less sensitive to red, so that gives the compressor some extra room to compress in the reds (Don't know if this is what compression developers do; just thinking out loud, just an idea...)
    Hope this helps at least a little.

  • Bug in screensaver OR graphic card? Help me figure this out

    I have a 15" MacBook Pro 2.66 GHz purchased in late September 2009. There is an odd bug that shows up in the mosaic screensaver (the one that represents one of your iPhoto pictures using a mosaic of your other photos) when I use the "Better Graphics" settings. If you have a similar computer, see if you can replicate this bug and let me know I'm not crazy...
    This 10.6 standard screensaver shows a single picture, then zooms out to show that picture as part of a mosaic that represents one of your other pictures in iPhoto. When the photo mosaic is complete, it gradually dissolves into the actual photo, then repeats the process using that photo as part of a mosaic.
    This screensaver works perfectly when running on the default NVIDIA GeoForce 9400M graphics card. When I switch to "Higher Performance" graphics and use the NVIDIA GeoForce 9600M GT card, the final image before the dissolve flips upside down, then dissolves into a right-side-up version of the image and starts the mosaic process again. Very odd!
    I have noticed no other issues on my computer when using "Higher Performance" graphics, but this one is weird and disturbing because it is in an Apple screensaver. Any thoughts or experiences with this?

    Thanks for the suggestion - after someone else reproduced the problem on their MacBook Pro, I submitted a bug report. It's not a big deal, but this should probably be fixed.

  • [Win8.1] Video fullscreen graphic bug

    Hello,
    i've a big Problem.
    I've found a new Sony Vaio multi-flip 15 under the christmas tree ;-).
    Now i've installed all Updates incl. Windows 8.1.
    All is wonderful, but when i watch some Youtube-Videos in fullscreen mode i got this graphic-bug (see below).
    With Firefox i've just this bug in fullscreen mode. With IE also in small mode.
    Windows 8.1
    Firefox 26.0
    Adobe Flash Player 11
    The Problem is solved if i disable the hardware acceleration, but then i get a big version of the player-UI and bad graphic.
    With the Windows 8-App "Hyper for Youtube" i got the same problem without any Browser.
    Thanks in advance

    You've already found one fo the two possible solutions... disabling HW accelleration.
    The other is to update your video drivers. http://forums.adobe.com/thread/945765  (Update through the adapter manufacturer - NOT Windows)

    Once again, ATI drivers suck, this time my new iMac has clearly visible artifacts that make pretty much any game unplayable. I'd attach a screenshot except you can't here.
    Is this a known bug already, if so, when will there be a fix?

    I think I've the same problem.
    I try to play the sims 3 for eg. and i've an error of unsupported graphic card :S
