Bug in Report Builder

We are facing a problem with Oracle Developer Report Builder
6.0.5.28.0 . The Problem is as Follows.
When we print a report from the previewer of a
character mode report it is giving a GPF error and we are
unable to print the
Report but if the report is in Bitmap then it works
properly. The same character mode report if printed as
Detination
'Printer' then it prints properly.
When debugged using a VC++ Debugger we get the following
error
' Unhandled Exception RWRBE60.EXE(CORE40.DLL) ;
OXC0000005; Access Violation; and the system hangs.
Because of this we a facing a delay in the Release of Our
Product to our customers.
Requesting you to the needful and send me details
regarding this .
Thanks and Regards

  • Date Bug in Report Builder

    Hi guys,
    Problem / Bug
i have a very simple layout report on scott.emp table. i passes two parameters throught parameter form.
i have assigned the data type as well as the initial value.
Report paremeter form takes and on message shows a date which has not been mentioned / assigned any where. like (01/02/3021).
after parameter form having few conditions like if dates are blank then parameter P1 Gets first condition else it gets the second one.
but report builder runs the first condition each time what ever you do with it.
mean this is joke with a developer.
i have re-installed the developer6 no of times and also used tips from fellows to get the right results.
anyway i will appreciate if some body could resolve this problem.
    Regards,
    Kamal

Just a couple of things you could look at:
    1) Is P1 null. In PL/SQL, equality comparisons against any null value will always return FALSE. You need to directly compare against null - "if (:p1 is not null)/if (:p1 is null)"
    2) P1's format mask. If the input format mask is something like: 'YYYY' then the date will show up as '01-JUL-YYYY' regardless of the date you gave it (or subsequently set it to in the PL/SQL).

  • Bugs in Report  builder/Graphics Builder

Whenever i call Graphics Builder from report builder to make a graph it gives an error and do not make the graph. Would you tell me what is the problem ?
    Thank you.

    hello,
without further information it is hard to tell, what the problem is. however, i would suggest you contact oracle support services.

  • 3K limit Bug in Report builder?

    All,
Created a report based on the following query
    select ''| |first_name| |' '| |last_name| |'' as login_name, first_name, last_name
    from portal30.wwsec_person$
    where created_on >= '01-APR-2001' and created_on <= sysdate
When I go to edit it, the sql query defaults to
    select * from scott.emp
My colleagues tell me of a 3K query string limit bug of WebDB, which caused the same problem.
any ideas why this might be happening?
    Portal: 3.0.7.6.2
    RDBMS : 8.1.6.2
    Windows NT
    Thanks
    Sanjay

Trying to show the query correctly
    select htp://dss2/pls/portal30/portal30.self_reg_portlet.show_user_request?p_username='&#0124; &#0124;user_name&#0124; &#0124;'>' &#0124; &#0124;first_name&#0124; &#0124;' '&#0124; &#0124;last_name&#0124; &#0124;'</a>' as login_name, first_name, last_name
    from portal30.wwsec_person$
    where created_on >= '01-APR-2001' and created_on <= sysdate
Btw, I can customize the report, change the
parameters, get an output etc. I cannot edit
it however. I am logged in as the Portal30 user.

  • Possible Bug in Report Builder 3.0

Doing a report to find sources of Fine and Coarse Aggregate, it was noted we were getting mismatches between suppliers of each.  Somehow, incorrect suppliers of each were being matched.  Looking further, we found that where there was one vendor
with several concrete mix formulas, always the last one was selected.
I have .png images but can't seem to upload them.
I'll try submitting the question then uploading the images.
    Thanks,

Nope, can't upload images or at least can't upload png files.

  • Margin Bug in CF8 Report Builder???

    Build: 193563
When I set my left and right margins to .50 inches the generated report comes out with a .25 inch margin left and .75 inch right. After a couple of hours searching the web for a solution and playing with various combinations of margins, I changed my margins to .49 inch left and .51 inch right and the report is much closer to centered on the page.
Is this in fact a bug in Report Builder CF801? Is there something I'm missing or should I look somewhere else for answers?

This problem appears to be fixed in build 181436 of the

  • Report Builder 6i crashes while compiling

I have report builder 6.0.8.11.3, running on Windows XP SP2.
I am connecting to a 10g database and compiling a custom report.
This report was running fine in the database, i just copied to my folder and compiling from local system (connecting to the 10g server). So this is not a code issue.
After compiling 50%, the report builder crashes with this message: Report Builder has encountered a problem and needs to close. In more information, the error signature is given as AppName:rwbld60.exe AppVer3.0.0.0 ModName ora805.dll ModVer 0.0.0.0 Offset 00046d68.
We have re-installed Report Builder/Windows/Oracle client from scratch many times but not able to solve this issue.
Please let me know of any pointers in this regard.
    Thanks
    Manu

  • Reports Builder has encountered a problem and needs to close.

    Hi All,
The report builder in my system is behaving weirdly. If I open a report, which is having a normal browser output, it allowing me to see the data model, layout model and everything. And if I open a report, which is having a PDF output, it's not allowing me to open the Layout.
Here the output is in context of Oracle Applications front-end. And as I know it shouldn't be a problem with Report Builder.
It errors out with the following message.
Reports Builder has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
And the error report contains the following message.

Is it problem with my system or the Operating System or the version of the Oracle Developer?
Can anyone please help me out?

  • Bug in PDF generation with Report Builder CF8

    Hello
there is a bug in the calculation of the left margin of a
    page.
I upgraded from MX 7.02 to CF8. My "old" Reports worked fine,
but when I export them to PDF an print them the left margin is
    different.
I'm using metric settings in the Report Builder. I created a
new Report with Left Margin 2 cm and a single Field with the left
Property = 1 cm (0.9879 cm). The printed paper with these poperties
where fine. I could measure appoximatly 3cm . But if I use Report
Left Margin = 1.27 cm and Field left Property = 0.35cm. The left
margin of the printed paper is only 1.1cm.
So it depends on the choosen Values of report left margin and
the left property of a field.
Does anybody else have the same problem?

I found this posting as I have now "rediscovered" this issue. I came to the same conclusion - edit ALT TEXT for every image.
However, I think it is confusing that these paths of image file are not considered Personal Information that can be removed using the Inspect Document feature (I tried - was not successful). The list of things to be removed using this wizard is quite extensive
    - and some of them less visible than these file paths.
It would be interesting to know if this is going to change with future updates of Word. Why is an ALT TEXT included at all per default? I think using the file path in ALT TEXT should be made optional. Is there a way to turn off this default embedding of
    the full path?
As the OP I also used Office 2013 on Windows 7 64bit.

  • Oracle Report Builder Bugs

If the JSP file generated by Report Builder contains the statement,
    <systemParameter name="DESTYPE" initialValue="Screen" display="yes"/>
you will receive the following error message when you try to run the report in Web Layout:
javax.servlet.jsp.JspException: REP-56092: No class defined for destination type Screen
I found the only solution to be to remove the offending statement, or set its display parameter to no. (The statement can be found in the JSP file under the <data> tag.)
This statement displays the Runtime Parameter Form dialog which is intended only for Paper Layouts. Seems as if Report Builder is reading a Paper Layout statement from the JSP file when it is executing a Web Layout command.
Another minor problem occurs when you open a report and attempt to display it in Web Layout before connecting to the database. When the Connect dialog appears, the mouse pointer remains as an hour glass.
The Report Builder came packaged with Oracle Developer Suite 10g, but the Report Builder's Help About shows version 9.0.4.2.0. However, I noticed that other copies of Oracle Developer Suite 10g came packaged with Report Builder version 10g. I can't say whether the above problems apply to these later versions of Oracle Builder or not.

    Hi,
There's a dedicated forum for Oracle Reports and I would suggest you to post your questions there to get answered by those who are experienced in Oracle Reports.
I did work with Oracle Reports a long time ago, so as I remember, you have to create a link between colb and colc fields. When colb is null then this link will pull over colc and print it in place of colb.
    Hope this helps.

Some other files can be normally open.

    Hi!
    1. Make sure no one else has opened the same file.
    2. Dont put image on your report.

  • Report Builder 2.0 loses parameter Null default value when deployed

When a parameter is set to a default value of (Null) and the report is saved to the sever, the default is lost when the report is re-opened in RB2.  This problem doesn't seem to occur in BIDS.  I've tried to use an expression to set the value to System.DBNull but this can no longer be done.
    Any ideas for a work-around?
Is there a bug report open for this?  I couldn't find an open bug on the Connections site and there's an issue on that site right now when submitting feedback.Paul Turley [Hitachi Consulting]

    Hi All,
I just had an almost identical issue using report builder 3.0 so I don't believe it is fixed. I had 4 parameters set to default to (Null) and I added a new one with identical settings but it would continually come up blank and not check the null box automatically
when going into my sub report.
To make matters worse I experimented changing one of the old parameters and it then started exhibiting the same behaviour. Using Luke's post above solved the issue (though it was Manage in my version not Administrate).
Using System.DBNull.Value resulted in it being treated as a literal string "System.DBNull.Value" and putting that in the filter for me.
    Hope it helps.

  • Report runs in Report Builder but hangs in Report Server

    Hi,
I am using Oracle Reports 10g to build a report with many formula columns. Everything was working perfectly till I added some condition in a query in formula columns. After adding it, report is not working in Report Server but runs only in Report Builder. If I removed this condition, report runs OK but I need it. This condition is very simple, just filtering be a decoded column (i.e. stts = 'D')
Can anyone suggest how to solve this problem?

    Hi,
what is the application server version you are running your reports on?
If it is 10.1.2.0.2 to 10.1.2.2  and you are using PDF SUBSETTING (check the [PDF:Subset] section in the uifont.ali file in your server) then you are most probably facing Bug:5029259 . To resolve the issue read further Doc ID 363868.1 in Oracle Support. In short, your options are:
    1. apply patchset 10.1.2.3 or maybe patch 5029259 is enough.
    2. or make sure no NULL values are returned in the report. Use nvl where possible. If there was no problem before making the changes then maybe checking the new formula columns would be enough. I made this change myself when facing this issue and it appears that this resolved the problem.
    3. or change REPORTS_ENHANCED_SUBSET to NO in windows registry if under windows or $ORACLE_HOME/bin/reports.sh if under linux.  REPORTS_ENHANCED_SUBSET=YES is necessary if you are using TTF subsetting, though. So this might not be an option.

  • Error in report builder wizard user interface

I am getting error 'REP-31954: Error in the Report Builder Chart Wizard user interface'.
The help subsystem states that I should make sure that the Chart Builder Wizard libraries are properly installed.
I am sure they are because all other wizards work fine, along with the Forms, Reports, etc.
I searched using Google and found two messages that indicate this is a bug in the program and not library installation related.
Does anyone know if this is indeed a bug that has not been resolved, or do I need to troubleshoot more on my end.
I re-linked Oracle graphics and checked the env variables, but nothing gets the Chart Wizard to work within Reports or Forms.
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hi.
I am running developer 6i on my home machine (with Oracle 8i, v 8.1.7). I am at work at the moment, and I can't recall what the Reports version is. The same error occurs with Forms.
The filename that I downloaded is called 'd2k6irelease2.tar'.
I downloaded the version that is currently on Oracle OTN's download site, so I presume that is the latest version that should contain all patches, updates, etc.
    Thank you for responding!

  • Error While Opening JSP in Report Builder converted from RDF

    Hi,
I am using Oracle reports 9i to convert rdf into jsp and invoke this jsp using OC4J to get HTML report.
The problem i am facing is that while converting RDF to JSP conversion went on successfull but when iam trying to open the JSP in Report builder it gives me error REP-2: Unable to retrieve string from message file.
When i want to see the paper layout it is not present and datamodel is also corrupted. In the data model sources for some fileds become null and one addtional group is appearing with no column in it.
    Urgent help is needed.
For any help Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Sanjay Tripathi

    Hello Sanjay,
There are some known issues in Reports 9i due to which XML/JSP reports do not open correctly in Builder, and throw the REP-0002 error. These bugs are currently being looked into, and will be addressed soon.
    1. If your report is using ref cursor queries, and you are hitting the above error, please ensure you connect to a database before you open the report.
    2. If your report has summary/formula columns, please try to create the JSP report without these columns and then try to open it in Builder.
    Thanks,
    The Oracle Reports Team.
