BUG: JDEV 1013 - autoindent ignores coding styles

Hi,
While editing the autoindent appears to do what it wants to regardless of the coding style preferences set up.
E.g, with block brace set to "same line".
for (;;) { <return>
becomes
for (;;)
then after a reformat it becomes
for (; ; ) {
It also fails to indent the first line after a brace.
eg:
void f()
indent starts here;
should be:
void f()
indent should start here;
The reformat always gets it right.
Also, on the "edit code style preference - Java code conventions", the "indent block braces" shows no effect on the sample code window.
I assume "indent block brace" (ticked) means:
for(;;)
This same setting works in JDeveloper Classic by the way.
The sample code window in "Edit code style profile - Java code conventions", for "Line wrapping" settings is messed up. The lines that have been broken end up indented wrongly. The sample code starts to look OK if you set indentation size down to '2'. Here is a sample with 'indent size' = 8. This same setting also works for "JDeveloper Classic" by the way.

Oops, looks like the forum posting gobbled up my leading spaces in the examples I gave.
I meant that autoindent should follow the coding standard, not the previous line.
void f()
<tab>indent should start here;
The cut and paste from the "line wrapping" example has also had its leading indents removed so you will have to try it to see what I mean.

  • SOAPMessage dealing in runtim with jdev 1013

    Hi All,
    i have a problem in dealing with SOAPMessages in jdev 1013.
    the problem as follow...
    i have an MMSC application that send and recives MMS for mobile applications, we also have web UI for sending and receiving the MMS
    the Application uses servlet in receiving the request and sending the response......
    the response is a SOAP message
    the application is running somthly on any other IDE such as intllegai, but when running the application on jdev 1013 i have error in retreving the mesages...what happend that the oracle deal with soap messages transferd in runtime as oracle.j2ee.ws.soap....but our application deal with the soap as javax.xml.soap.soapmessage object
    the calling of he servlet is done using SOAPConnection as
    SOAPConnection conn = SOAPConnectionFactory.newInstance(). createConnection();
    SOAPMessage sMsg = conn.call(soapMessage, servlet_url);
    i trace the response , it is correct in the servet, but when converting the response to SOAPMessage it failes....
    so when i call writeTo method in SOAPMessage class, i have exception

    anyboy can help resolving this problem....... how can i force the jdev not to use its owen soap class in runtime

    Hello,
    The easiest way to use SOAP over HTTP is to build a service usign the JAX-RPC API, for example you can expose easily a Java class as Web Service (SOAP) and this is based by default on HTTP.
    See Oracle Web Services section in the Documentation page.
    For example for attachments: Working with message attachments
    Can you check if this is possible to integrate to your application?

  • Missing Descriptior with Toplink 1013 and Jdev 1013

    Hi guys,
    I keep getting the following error when I try to run my project:
    Exception [TOPLINK-6007] (Oracle TopLink - 10g release 3 (10.1.3.0.0) (Build 050912)): oracle.toplink.exceptions.QueryException
    Exception Description: Missing descriptor for
    The project is a Web Application with a Model and View/Controller projects. The Model has a Toplink project in it and I created the mappings, classes, and the sessions.xml for it.
    What am I doing wrong? This seems to work in Jdev 1012.

    * Does the sample client work ok when you use sessions.xml?
    * What is the sequence of steps you are taking to create view project and in which project you are getting the errors? A detailed sequence of steps will be helpful in reproducing this issue.
    * If you are running into this issue in your view project using ADF and your use case simply involves reading objects, perhaps you can try writing a plain sample client in java yourself to simulate the use case and see whether this client works.
    Also
    * Take a look at my response to your other question at Mutliple writeable mappings in Jdev 1013 and setup your mappings correctly.
    * If you are running into this issue in the view project with the use of ADF, then try regenerating the datacontrol and recreating your view project. Make sure your logging in the sessions.xml is turned on.

    In this directory only apper global-application.log, rmi.log, server.log and system-application.log and two directories with *xml. You know  if I need any configuration in the IDE.

  • JDev 1013 BUG? EJB, CMR, DTO and session facade.

    I've created two CMP Entity EJB's, CourseEJB and PupilEJB, and defined a M:N relationship between them. A course has many pupils and vice versa. Each bean has only two attributes, id (Long, part of PK) and name (String) for simplicity.
    1. Generated DTO's for the two beans won't compile
    I get error on:

    courseEJBLocalDTO.setPupilsDTO(this);
    and:

    pupilsDTO.add(pupilEJBLocalDTO);
    pupilEJBLocalDTO.setCoursesDTO(this);
    because JDev has created definitions of the setCoursesDTO function like this:
    public void setCoursesDTO(Collection<courseEJBLocalDTO> coursesDTO)
    this.coursesDTO = coursesDTO;
    and ditto for the setPupilsDTO method, taking a Collection as argument too.
    I can fix this code manually, but next step, generating a session Facade with added methods for handling the entity beans isn't exactly any better...
    One M:N relation is pretty basic, am I doing something wrong here?

  • Bug in formatting Tables with cel styles + toolbox

    We continue to have major problems with the cel styles. Lines disappear due to adjacent cells.
    Let me ellaborate:
    I have a cel style that has no background and only a .5 line at the bottom.
    Underneith I have a cel style that has NO lines. What happens is that when I link that style, the line from the cel above disappears. Then I reselect the top cel and link the correct style again, the line appears.
    This is obviously a totally unworkable situation.
    What helps 80% of the time, is to go in the options menu for the style. Then give all lines 1pt, black and a style. And then, in exactly this order, delete the linethickness, set the color to ignore and then set the style to ignore (ignore is a translation from Dutch, I do not know the exact term used in the US version). After this I save the style and usually it works.
    This bug has been a part of InDesign since the introduction of celstyles.
    And while I am ranting, another thing that has been irritating us since the early days. Quite often multiple styles in the panels seem selected. This happens in all panes (paragraph, type, cell and table styles)
    It seems to us that Adobe is only paying attention to adding new features, instead of fixing well known bugs.
    Does anyone have a solution to my issues?

    The following code should write the numbers 1 to 10 with four spaces separating each value. But no spaces are written.

  • Bug jdev 10.1.3 production: sequences showing up as tables

    Hello,
    A bug I have found: when I generate a script to create database objects (tables & sequences) and choose in the wizard to execute against the DB connection, the sequences are showing up under the "tables" folder in the connection browser (Oracle DB). After I disconnect and re-browse, they are in the correct "sequences" folder.

    I've a class I compiled used in JDev 10.1.2.1.
    Now I try to compile it with JDev 10.1.3 but I get an error :

    Could someone explain me what happened ?
    The problem seems to be in the very long privated final string I defined, making it shorther the problem is solved again .

  • OBIEE 11g ignoring custom styles after a space in the formatting

    Hi,
    Has anyone else ran into this odd little problem?
    I'm applying custom styles to our new corporate skin, and it's all working just fine until I enter a piece of code like this:

    It appears that as soon as OBIEE encounters the spaces in the CSS formatting, it escapes and ignores the rest. In this case, the border gets applied, but the background color does not. If I swap places of the two classes, then the background color is applied and the border is not.
    In addition, any styles defined after this style are ignored.
    When I inspect element in Firebug, I am seeing this behavior coming through on the presentation side. The CSS that follows the style with a space in it isn't appearing.
    The styles defined by default have very similar styles and they appear to work; does anyone have any idea why my custom styles aren't?

  • ##BUG## Jdev/ADF/UIX/SCM

    I'm developing an UIX application with jdev 9.0.5.1, adf and SCM to versioning. And i've been lost half day to catch an problem, that i think, was a scm bug.
    Explaining :
    I've create a uix page and, drag and drop a VO from data control to create input form. Then i put an commit button, in same way. I look to page struture on tab UIModel and there is commit, i look to structur on my UIModel.xml and there is. So i think that all ok. But when i run and try to save changes the messagebox show java.lang.nullPointerException, and on log nothing appear. Only an strange message "Warning: using introspection to lookup return value from :Commit.". Then when i try to see xml source from uimodel, there is no commit dccontrol. I've to do manual check out from uimodel.xml and to all again. I think that scm must do it by his self.

    In case you have access to Metalink, could you please check Note 300714.1 and see if it relates to your case ?

  • BUG-JDev 11G 5407-Project level resource bundle usage messes the page

    When you define a resource bundle on the project properties and if you are using templates the page is not properly rendered in the design view but it runs fine.
    What happens is , JDev adds a JSTL set tag just before the *<af:pageTemplate>* tag and this confuses the designer. To workaround I defined the bundle variable in faces-config, it worked fine for the existing texts but when you add a new text to the page JDev keeps adding this set tag at the beginning of the page and you need delete it each time.
    It looks like a bug to me ..

    Hi,
    we have the same issue and therefore do not use the feature of the property inspector.
    Instead we open the *.properties file in jdev and edit it manually.
    There is bug 7537379 around this c:set tag which MAY BE fixed in the next release (11.1.1.2.0) but I don't know if this bug also covers exactly your problem.

    think I've found a bug. I'm using JDev 10.1.3, patched with SR1 & 2, my machine is a Windows XP SP2 box with 1GB mem and Intel Pentium 4 2.60 Ghz with HT.

    Note the last empty line before the end-of-file. If I try to past this code into a Java file and open it in JDev, it hangs as described.
    Moreover, if I remove the last empty line, JDev will open the file in the editor but, as soon as I enter it again (placing the cursor at the end of the file a hitting enter) JDev hangs again.
    A final note: I experienced many hangs also in JSP editor, especially selecting a block of text and pasting something in its place, but don't know if the two behaviours are related.

    Ok, maybe I've tracked down at least one factor that makes JDev hang. I changed my font back to the default "DialogInput" instead of "Lucida Console" and now it opens my file.
