BUG: microKONTROL encoders don't work

microKONTROL
with no zones, no modes
starting from scratch
the mK is in Native mode
so its all sys ex coming in.
command-L, move knob on screen, move knob on mK
doesn't work. the knob on screen does not budge
partial solution:
In Controller Assignments select the control (third pane over, expert view)
the Value Mode defaults to : Relative
instead set the Mode to Rotate
Now it works, but .... very scary .... it goes all the way around. 0 wraps to 127 like asteroids.
this could get interesting on those filter tweaks, but it could get very scary on some parameters.
I tried setting min/max to 10-90
and tried setting multiply to 0.5
that did not work.
currently the Multiply box is not accepting text input,
though it was working before.
these inputs often get into this state.

I mostly did my mK control assignments in non-Native mode, which works fine. I'm not sure I tried assignments in native mode, I can't remember.
But, I gave up making the perfect control system after a while because Logic 7's controller assignments feature is hopelessly flawed and buggy, alas.

Summary:
Spotlight cannot perform calculations with fractions where the separator is comma (as it is in Norwegian) instead of the American period.
The Apple aluminum keyboard with numpad in Norwegian locale (Æ, Ø, and Å) have a comma instead of a period on the numpad (this differs from US keyboard with numpads).
Steps to Reproduce:
(Norwegian bokmål system local and a Norwegian keyboard with numpad required)
1. Open Spotlight using Command–Space
2. On the numpad, type: 79,9+56,50
Expected Results:
136,40
Actual Results:
"No result."

Bug: Timestamp columns don't work in automatic row processing

It appears that automatic row processing doesn't work with timestamp columns. Here is the scenario:
- I have a view that contains a timestamp column
- I create an automatic row processing process that reads a row from this view
- I create a hidden item with a source type of "Database Column" and set its source value to the name of the timestamp column.
- The value of the hidden input is empty, i.e. value=""
I found that, as a workaround, if a change the view to convert the timestamp to a string (e.g. SELECT TO_CHAR(LAST_MODIFIED) LAST_MODIFIED rather than SELECT LAST_MODIFIED), it works correctly.
Adding a format mask or doing the conversion in a "post calculation computation" (e.g. TO_CHAR(:P34_LAST_MODIFIED)) doesn't work.

Later on in my exploration I found that some of the text boxes on the Keynote inspector were not accepting text, and so I couldn't even change the transition time for a slide. That prompted a restart of the program and that also seems to have solved the problem where the inspector wasn't accepting input for the columns and gutter. It's working now. So watch out for that. No idea what was at the root of it, which is annoying.

[BUG] Pixel Bender(CPU mode) don't working without desktop composition(W7 x64)

I am using CPU rendering mode.
Everything is working, except "result" window, which is just copy of background(without Desktop composition).
Everyone can reproduce the error with turn on / turn off desktop composition:
Control Panel > System and Security > System > Advanced system settings > Perfomance > Settings...
"Adjust for best performance" - rendering don't working
"Adjust for best appearance" - everything just fine.

Some links don't work in 10.6.5

After upgrading to 10.6.5 I observed that certain links just don't work anymore, f.i. when I click a weblink in my email it should open it automatically in Firefox. Instead nothing happens. I have to manually copy and paste the link into Firefox. Same thing happens within Facebook. It seems as if the system doesn't automatically recognize the browser. Any idea how to fix this? It is annoying!

I have a similar issue on two completely separate Macs since upgrading them to 10.6.5. After a few hours use, links within some web pages, in Safari, will resolve to very random places. For example I click a news article link on the Yahoo home page, and it takes me repeatedly to a monster.com job listing page. Or if I am in Yahoo mail and I clcik Calendar, it takes me right back to yahoo mail and does not open the calendar page. Totally repeatable once this behaviour starts. Tried using Firefox - same exact bugs occur there once this behavior starts.
If I run Cocktail and run the daily, weekly, and monthly scripts, the problem gets instantly fixed, for a few hours, then it eventually comes back. Cocktail always fixes it though.
It appears that some cache, perhaps the whatis or lookup databases, are getting corrupted in 10.6.5, such that links get resolved to the incorrect addresses.
Happens on my MacPro Quadcore i7 as well as a friends MacBook Pro 17, 2009 unibody. BOth started showing this problem on both firefox and safari after the 10.6.5 update.

Bookmarks don't work if your bookmark is in a folder, it just doesn't open the folder which has the bookmarks in, though the bookmarks can be accessed through the bookmark manager. Sup?

Bookmark folders don't work, and I can't click the give feedback button, fresh install of FF.

I do and I can't add folders or bookmarks.. And it's pretty hard to set a default theme when I have nothing in addons, extensions, appearance, plugins.
The problem seems to appear(bookmark problem) when I click a folder for the first time, it works perfectly but then when I move my cursor to other folder or just open a new one, it bugs.
Ok, even though you said don't select anything else right now, I selected the disable all addons and now it works perfectly, so when the Firefox 4 Beta 7 was installed it enabled all addons even the ones that aren't compatible with it and that is why I got the problem, maybe change that feature off in the .exe package?

Adding swf (Captivate clips) into RoboHelp: flash controls don't work

Hi all,
I've added captivate swf project and ALL the flash controls (toc, play etc) don't work, though it plays continuously from the beginning. If I extract that page HTML code and play it separately, it works on all browsers. I render RoboHelp projects as MS HTML Help.
Are there any known issues with rendering flash clips in Microsoft HTML Help? it looks as it is using some weird embedded browser for swf.

Okay, this gets curiouser and curioser the more I look at it.
At first blush it appeared things were working. Then I tried the playback controls. Odd, the controls will allow a single click and they will carry out whatever function you clicked. But that seems to be it. Further clicks appear to be disallowed. I tested with a fresh Captivate movie as well as one that uses the Domain Lock Widget.
Wondering if this was an overall issue with SWF content in general or if it was simply tied to the Playback Controls, I then tried adding some button objects to each slide to allow the user to navigate from slide to slide. This seems to work.
I thought (hoped actually) that perhaps it was simply the default playback controls causing the issue. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be. I tried creating a SWF using the Aluminum controls. Same issue.
At this point I have to admit that I'm more than a little stumped. I'm surprised that I've not heard of this before or that others haven't reported it. However, I use Captivate files in my CHM files all the time. The main difference is that I never use playback controls in my movies. I am always using either Buttons or Click Boxes to navigate.
So being generally unsatisfied and poking it further, I seem to have found the culprit. I did the same thing in RoboHelp 7 and there wasn't an issue. What was different? I scrutinized the code and there was no difference. Hmmm
Then it hit me. The difference here was that where the Captivate playback control only functioned after the first click, the RoboHelp project was using Browse Sequences. So I edited the window definition and turned them off. BINGO! The Captivate works fine now.
I also tested using RoboHelp 7. Same issue there as well.
Definitely this should be reported to Adobe as a bug. Link is in my sig.

I have the same problem on my iPhone4. It is obviously a bug in the software. Once it pops out I am locked out of my phone. I can't even begin to describe the frustration this causes. All that stuff about holding down the buttons is useless. the phone won't even shut off. I can take a screen shot like that or go to voice control. Even when I got to a wifi connection, I can't get on. This app blocks everything else. This is a serious bug and can have serious consequences. The only thing my phone would do is go to voice control and let me play iTunes or phone people. Some smart phone hey?
I have finally got to a place with a wide enough wifi to connect my computer and restore the phone. This has lasted over a day!

Hello smarisig. I understand you are not able to control screen brightness from the keyboard on Windows 8. By chance, did you upgrade to Windows 8 from Windows 7? The person who posted the issue on this forum had upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8, and then this issue occurred. That is the reason I asked if this Windows 8 was upgraded. Definitely seems to be a cross-platform bug in iTunes 10.5 concerning all NAS disks. Shared libraries on network drives worked fine under 10.4.1, but now there is just an endless loading cycle with no error message or time-out. There is a bit more about it in this thread.

I have a mac mini (A1283) with OS 10.7.4. Upon upgrading to 10.7.5 it did not start up again. Instead, the light was on and the hard drive did not start up. The light on the connected USB mouse was not lit.
My solution:
Cold start with Command-v pressed.
This should start Verbose mode (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1492 ).
What happened on my mac mini was that the grey startup screen with the Apple logo appeared for a long while before the login screen came.
Maybe Cmd-v set open firmware params and fixed some corruption.
Anyway: my mac mini works again.

Hyperlinks don't work in keynote 3

My hyperlinks don't work in Keynote 3, even not after re-installing the programme several times. Are there more people who have this priblem, it could be a bug.

Check that the presentation is set to normal in: Inspector > Document > Document > Presentation Type > Normal
The inspector is the side panel on the right hand side.

The behavior "move (drag) a layer" for Dreamweaver 8.02 don't

Yep - fails in Safari2.
It's hard to know who is responsible for that - I'm guessing
it's Apple,

Hyperlinks in linked Word documents don't work

I'm having a problem with hyperlinks and I'm hoping you can help me. I have a RoboHelp HTML 8 project built out of Word 2007 linked files. There's a dozen Word files right now, but I'm hoping to scale up the project eventually. Each file is a topic in the CHM.
I have two problems when I generate the CHM:
1. Links to anchors within the same Word document generate extra subtopic files. Each extra topic begins at the anchor point. The links work, but I'd like to avoid having extra topics cluttering the TOC.
2. Links to anchors in other Word documents don't work at all. When I examine the HTML in Robohelp, I can see that RoboHelp has generated an empty link. When I link to a Word document without specifying an anchor point, the link in the CHM is to the document itself and not the topic, which is useless for my purposes.
For example, the generated HTML for each of these types of links looks like this:
<p>Link test: <a href="#_Using_Styles">Later in the same topic.</a></p> <== This one works, but generates an extra subtopic
<p>Link test: <a href="" target="_self">To another topic.</a></p> <== This one doesn't work at all.
Before you ask, yes, I have checked the "Convert References to Hyperlinks" box in the RoboHelp Word conversion settings. According to Adobe documentation, that's all I need to do... So what am I doing wrong?

I have an update: Adobe got back to me and confirmed that the inter-document/inter-topic link issue is an actual RH
bug. I'll check back in here when I have more news.

Keyboard shortcuts in JTabbedPane don't work in BorderLayout

I'm mystified by a problem that doesn't seem to make any sense. I have a JTabbedPane with mnemonics, that used to work well before. But since I've shuffled components around a bit and put the JTabbedPane in the BorderLayout.CENTER of a JPanel, the keyboard shortcuts no longer work.
The appropriate letters are underlined, but the Alt+letter sequence no longer switched tabs. Other components (JButtons) with keyboard shortcuts in the same JPanel, but in the BorderLayout.SOUTH or elsewhere, work as expected.
It sounds like a bug to me, but is there perhaps a workaround?

I keep replying to my own posts...
I figured out that the tabs start working once a component in them (say, a JTextField) receives keyboard focus. It does sound a bit suspicious to me, but I can live with it.
Unfortunately, setting the focus programmatically doesn't seem to work: requestFocus() or requestFocusInWindow() on the first JTestBox simply don't work.
