Bug: setting ColumnChart type property breaks the chart object.

PLease confirm if this Is this a bug or maybe ColumnChart
type property is only applicable as MXML tag attribute?
Description: Setting the
type property of
ColumnChart object other than "
clustered" breaks the chart object. (i.e: series dissappear)
Resetting to "clustered" wont restore the series.

It breaks the chart when series have effects applied,
otherwise it works fine.

I don't get any squiggle lines, but I get a parse error at runtime.

IIRC, this syntax was restricted to TargetType properties on styles and templates in WPF and Silverlight, is this still the case?

I just came on here to look for this issue since I ran into the same thing. We absolutely should be able to set a Type-based property in XAML. We can in WPF and SL. Please either fix this TypeName error bug or at least provide us with the
x:Type markup extension so that we can pass types directly to dependency properties in XAML with type checking.
Can someone from Microsoft respond to this request?

Bug - Safari 5.1.5 breaks the keyword search of PDF files displayed on Safari.
After updating to Safari 5.1.5 with Adobe Acrobat Pro 10.1.3 on Mac OS X 10.6.8, it is not possible to search for keywords in PDF documents displayed on Safari.
I understand that it is a bug. Is there any way to fix it?

Try deleting a plugin...
Open the Finder. From the menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Typs this: /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Move the Adobe PDF Browser plugin (or PDF Browser plugin) to the Trash.
Quit then relaunch Safari to test.
If that doesn't help, back to the Finder menu.
Go > Go to Folder
Type this: ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safarfi/Cache.db
Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit then relaunch Safari to test.

How to set a system property via the config tool?

how can I set a system property via the config tool? Before I chose WAS from SAP I used java with option -D<name>=<value> to set the system properties.

WAS config tool is located under
e.g. usr\sap\J2E\JC00\j2ee\configtool
start configtool.bat
there will be opened a configuration tool GUI
Click on the instance_ID.... leaf of the tree in the left pane and then on the server_ID.... leaf.
Java settings will appear in the right pane after this steps.

Setting Chart type property of iSPC chart dynamically doesn't work

Hi all,
I am trying to set the chart type property (XBAR, MEDIAN etc..) of iSPC chart dynamically from my html page.
This is the code that I used.
var chart_obj = document.iSPCChart.getChartObject();
chart_obj.setChartType("MEDIAN");
iSPCChart is my Applet name.
But the code doesn't seem to work.
The chart is always of the type that I have set in the iSPC display template.
Can someone help me in this regard?

Even though that method shows up in the script assistant and the docs it really doesn't work.
Just swap out the display template for one saved with the desired type:
document.iSPCChart.setDisplayTemplate("Folder/MedianChart");
document.iSPCChart.updateChart(true);
With all of the alarm rules, colors, limits, settings, etc. it is not likely that you will have the same view (display template) that applies to every SPC chart type.
There is also a predelivered example of an SPC Chart that uses an iframe and an irpt to dynamically pass the chart type (along with other settings) you can reference: http://<servername>/Lighthammer/Samples/SPC/Servers.irpt

How can I set #HOST# variable referenced in the Chart template?

#HOST# and #HOST_PROTOCOL# are being set incorrectly by APEX from CGI variables when I create a chart. I am using APEX 4.1 and Oracle 11g. The get the continual "Loading data..." and then after it times out I get "Error loading file".
Before we changed to a secure http environment, our charts worked. After we changed to the new web layer, the charts do not work. The #HOST# substitution was set to http://correctservername/ and #HOST_PROTOCOL# was set to http. We set PlsqlCGIEnvironmentList REQUEST_PROTOCOL=https in the dads configuration file and now the #HOST# displays https but it also includes the default port number which we do not want (https://correctservername:port/) The charts work without the port. REQUEST_PROTOCOL is not in the cgi list and setting this variable set #HOST_PROTOCOL#. What variable can we set to make #HOST# correct. It seems like #HOST# is being set by #REQUEST_PROTOCOL#'://'||HTTP_HOST||':'||SERVER_PORT||SCRIPT_NAME||'/'. SERVER_NAME could also be used in of HTTP_HOST. I don't know how APEX is setting #HOST#. Does it come from a host alias somewhere in the environment?
I don't want to add a new cgi variable called HOST because HOST sounds so generic and it might interfere with something else running in our environment. Or, I don't want to change the plsql cgi environment variable (such as HTTP_HOST) because many developers may use owa_util.get_cgi_env('HTTP_HOST') to get the current server. If the SERVER_PORT is part of the #HOST# then what could I change it to if it needs to be null. If you leave it blank, then the default SERVER_PORT comes from the CGI variables.
I would rather not create a global variable (hard-coding) and create a new chart template using the global variable or create a before header application process to re-direct url without a port.

changing the CGI environment variables HTTP_HOST, REQUEST_PROTOCOL and SERVER_PORT is the correct way how to resolve this, because it appears that your hiding the web server where you have installed mod_plsql or EPG by a different outside facing web server (also called reverse proxy). That's why APEX gets the host name, protocol and port of the internal web server, but should actually get the values of your reverse proxy web server. Can can fix that by changing the following CGI environment variables.
HTTP_HOST should just contain the domain name (no protocol or port). For example: www.oracle.com
REQUEST_PROTOCOL should contain http or https
SERVER_PORT should be the port for https

CR 9 - Need HELP Setting Line Graph colors in the Chart Expert

Hello,
I created a Crystal Report (CR) based off an existing Trend Analysis report. I have created a VB6 application that calls the .RPT file I created for the report in CR. The VB6 app sets the report recordset via code that corresponds to the .TTX file, and the parameters . The report contains a Line graph that plots five pieces of data. The report & graph work good. The Problem: CR determines the color of each line on the graph. However, I need to set the color for each line to correspond to the colors used on our existing reports. The users are accustom to a certain color representing a certain set of data on the existing reports.   I have tried everything I can think of and from all documentation I can find, and nothing changes the line colors.   I have tried all of the following:
1.) From the Chart Expert, Option tab, I click the Format button next to Color and setup conditional color settings per each piece of data.   However, when I run the report these conditional color settings are not reflected on the CR graph.     I am using formula fields (based off database fields in the recordset) to produce the report. However, I only see the database fields to use in the conditional color formatting screen and not the formula fields.    I thought this would possibly be the cause why the colors wonu2019t change on the CR, but I canu2019t find a way to make the formula fields show up in the list.
2.)Also, I tried right clicking the individual lines of the graph and change the selected item color, but this didnu2019t change the color either. I do this in Design mode and Preview mode and neither one changes the color of the lines on the graph.
3.)I have also looked into the CR object model to see if I can change the line colors of the graph via code and it doesn't look like I am given this flexibility.
Do you know what I am doing wrong here?   I just want to be able to set the color of each line on the CR graph to the color I want instead of using the default colors. Are there some Hot Fixes that I need to apply to my copy of CR?

I got the problem fixed w/ the line graph not making the data lines the same color on the report as on the frmPlot graph.   Compare the two screen shots below.   The problem was as follows: When I created the graph (in the Chart Expert) the field u201CReadingDateu201D was not one of the Report Fields, and all the other fields were Report Fields (Reading, LowAlarm, UpperAlarm, LowerLimit, & UpperLimit). See the 3rd screen shot below. ReadingDate does show up as a Report Field now but it wasnu2019t at first.   Originally, this field was only available in the Chart Expert as a recordset field. When I changed this field to be a Report Field, the graph then allowed me to change the data series line colors.   This was not obvious at all.   From the beginning when I setup the graph and passed in the recordset from VB it graphed all of the data series fine. Setting a JTree renderer breaks the focus traversal order

I am not sure what's wrong, but when I set a customize JTree renderer it breaks the focus traversal order of my UI. Can someone tell me what's wrong and also how to prevent it from changing the order of my components?
For instance, if I have component order 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 to begin with and after I call JTree.setCellRenderer(new SomeRenderer()), the order would change to something like this 1, 2, 4, 5, 3
To give you an overview of what I am creating, I am customizing a UI that will be plug into JFileChooser to replace the default UI. I know I can create my own FocusTraversalPolicy, but the thing is that I don't know some of my components ahead of time. As long as I can prevent the order change, I think it would be fixed.

Problem in setting vector or string[] as the "value object" in hashmap

Hey I am new to this forum.
I am doing a project in which i need to store a array of strings as "value object" for a unique key in hashmap.
as I populate the hashmap from external file according to key and setting the string[]. The hashmap is taking the value field same for each entry i.e the last field as i keep updating the same variable and then putting it into hashmap.
Please give solution to my problem???

I tried using the method suggested by you...but it is of same case as using the string[].
I need to loop the statements in which the hashmap is populating so cant change the variable names in the dd.put() statements. When the below code executes it shows the same set of string for both the keys, that was the problem i was facing with string[].
here is the example with two entries....same thing in looping.

Getting and setting dynamic y-field for flex chart

I'm pulling data from a amfphp service for
a series of charts. My client now wants the the chart's fields to be label and display data dynamically so they can change the service with out breaking the charts.
For example {Month:"January", Flex:39, Flash:71.8, Photoshop:23.7},
They'd like to be able to change the software names and the charts would still work without having to go into the code and change the yfield property.

You can declare a bindable string variable that you can use as title in your axis:
[Bindable]

Every time you change the string variable you label will also change.

Charts: Gap between Vertical Axis and the chart area

Friends,
I have a really wierd issue and I am sure I am doing
something wrong.
I am trying to align 2 charts that are placed vertically. I
want to align the left vertical axis and the gridlines within them.
Aligning the left vertical axis is easy and done but aligning the
grids is becoming challenging and I have already spent a few hours
on this problem.
Here is a wrong chart image ...

The line of the LineChart (in the top chart) is touching the
left and right edges where as the bottom chart bars do not touch
the left/right edges. Due to this the gridlines are not aligned.
I had managed to solve this problem but I am not sure what
part of the code solved the problem. Here is the right chart image:

In this chart, the line of the linechart (in the top chart)
is not touching the left and right boundary hence the gridlines are
alignd with each other.
I wonder what property of the chart controls the series
touching the left/right vertical axis or boundary. Your help is
appreciated.

here is some more information ...
I started changing some of the properties of the chart which
I mentioned is a RIGHT CHART and this is what I learnt ...
It was a CartesianChart hence it was creating the gap
between the left/right vertical axis and the actual chart area
(refer to the right chart image).
I changed it to a LineChart and it started behaving like the
chart in the WRONG CHART image.
Is there a solution to this problem?
