Bug with placement new
I'm trying to compile a library that makes use of placement
new to perform its own allocations, I've attached a simple .cpp
file that demonstrates the problem. When compiling with alchemy I
get the following errors:
This is supposedly a problem with the OSX version of alchemy
which is fixed by using the -DOSX compiler option, however using
this gives the following errors

I'm not a novice, i mounted more than 300 computers for my clients, and
around 30 of last 50 computers are with MSI Motherboards.
Cpu Fsb for Athlon 2400+ is 133 but the ddr/fsb is 4:5 because i'm using
DDR 333 and the K7N2-V (MS-6729) is DDR 400 ready.
With all MSI motherboards i mounted, it’s enough to put the correct CPU
FSB and (Auto) to detect everything by the SPD.
Certainly it's a BUG with the new version because the Bios and Windows
detect CPU as Athlon 1800+ (1500) instead of 2400+ (20000.

downloaded 11.0.3 (42) 64 bit to my MacBook Pro and it crashes every time I select a song a use the 'add to' function to add to a play list. It's never done this before, is it a bug with the new version?
You could just disable updates. Change these settings in about:config.
* app.update.auto - set to false
* app.update.enabled - set to false
You can still check for updates with the "Check for Updates" button in the About Firefox window, but it will download the update file anyway if there is an update available. You can also check which is the current release from here:

Not sure if anyone else is experiencing the same issue with the new 2.2 update, but when listening to applications like iSleep or any other type of music playing app, if you flick the silent switch on the music cuts out until you flick it back. Also when the screen times out the music cuts off too.
If this is a bug then this is a pretty serious one! Can anyone share their thoughts on this if they have found a possible work around or experiencing the same.
RegardsYup, same deal here trying to use Flycast after updating to 2.2. Press the sleep/wake button or let it time out and...Presto...no more music.
Now, here's the weird part. Exactly 12 seconds after pressing the button, or letting the the phone auto-lock and go dark, the music starts playing again. I've tried this five times with the same results. What's up with that???
I had no issues with this prior to the update today. -
Bug with placement of audio controls
I have run across a potential bug in the iBooks application. When using <audio> tags in book chapters with the linear ="no" setting in the <spine> section of the .opf file, the placement of the <audio> controls is incorrect, even somewhat random. I have tried various structures - paragraphs, tables, lists, they all have this same problem.
These same .xhtml files work perfectly when viewed through a browser or when viewed in iBooks with linear="yes".
Has anyone seen this problem before?Thank you Steve. I do have Liz Castro's books, they are very good. Creating the audio content is not the problem, have done it many times. The problem is I believe a bug in iBooks that incorrectly places the audio controls when the section of the eBook set as linear="no" in the <spine>. This setting takes the section out of the linear reading flow of the book and opens it up in a new page, outside of the book. It's very useful for large tables, etc. Liz has examples of this on her site also. It works very well, except for the audio controls. While the function, it seems impossible to control their location on the page.

Old AppleWorks bug with a new twist
Previously I posted
"After upgrading to 10.5 recently, Appleworks when I select the "recent items" tab, I will hear the drive accessing for 13 seconds then the app disappears. After another 12 seconds I get the "quit unexpectedly" alert box."
I was told this was an old bug and removing deleted files from the recent visit folder stopped the problem. I thought the problem was solved. No.......................
The new twist is the following: I have some sparseimage files that are password protected. If I open the file, Appleworks keeps it in recent visits. Then when the sparseimage file is closed and AppleWorks is opened again, it crashes because it can't find the sparse image file open. BUT, in 10.4.11 under those exact same circumstances, the icon was greyed out but didn't cause a crash. My only solution now is to go into the recent items/starting points folder and delete the sparse image file to keep Appleworks from crashing the next time.
This is a change of behavior between 10.4 and 10.5 and is a royal pain in the behind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I have gone the plist route but the only thing that will solve the crashes is to physically delete the alias file in the recent file. Other situations with aliases (except AppleWorks) just say they can't find the original document. Escapes me why these aliases are now handled differently in 10.5 in this specific program.
I have now made startup preferences (and what is seen when a file is closed) to be just showing the open dialogue. I will sacrifice the easy locating of recent files to having to remembering to delete culprit situations/having crashes. -
Under tools options for the 3.6.14 there is no tab to enable java, only java scripts. There was an add- on for Java that automatically downloaded that may be part of the problem. I' also updated to Java 1.6.0.24,- is that may be part of problem. The Pogo.com website will not load certain games.
My biggest question is whether the Firefox beta 4 is safe(er) to use, and/or does it have other and perhaps worse bugs that have not been worked out.Firefox 3.6.15 fixes that problem with Java.

Trash the Reader 11 Application from there
Go to: MacHD/library/Internet Plugins
Trash the AdobePDFviewer.plugin from there
Trash the AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin also
Empty the trash
Mount the DMG and run the installer to reinstall Reader
When it finishes, reboot and open Reader from the Applications folder
Accept the License Agreement and then close Reader
Launch Safari and go to: Safari>Preferences
Under the Security Tab, make sure "Allow all other plugins" is checked
You should be able to view and download PDFs without any errors -

As the error message says, a WebView needs to be created on the FX Application thread. By trying to create the WebView where you currently are doing it, the creation attempt will be performed on the main thread.
There is an existing Jira issue to remove the thread restriction on WebView, but it is scheduled for a later release. -

It has worked flawlessly until I updated the software on my iPad and iPhone to 5.1.1. . It still is able to connect but there is no sound. When we use my wifes iPad 1 which is still running s/w 4.1 there is no such problem. Anyone else seen this and know a fix?

Mail app bug with jumping to new line below signature
Hi!
Since day one of using Lion i have this incredibly annoying bug with Mail application.
I have a formated signature in all my emails. Sometimes when I am composing a mail (or rather replying for one) and when I hit RETURN on keyboard, cursor moves BELOW signature and inserts new line below signature - not in place when it was when I hit RETURN.
The same is when I have cursor in middle of my message and hit enter. Nothing happens - text ater place when cursor was when I hit enter is staying where it was but cursor moves below signature and enters new line in there.

I have a MacBook Pro 5,4 running OSX 10.6.8 and Safari 5.1.10. A website i like has a known bug with 5.1.10 and recommends I install a newer version of Safari or use Firefox or Chrome. Just looking for advice on the best approach. Thanks!
Unfortunately, Safari cannot be updated past 5.1.10 on a Mac running v10.6.8.
So, the options are to upgrade to a newer OS X or use Firefox or Chrome.

Bugs with New/Updated content icons
In the "My Subscriptions" page, there are two problems with the update icons on the left. Unless someone can prove me wrong or explain how this actually works, these look like bugs to me.
When I list my subscriptions I see that some have the half blue icon. I understand that that is the "Updated" icon (as opposed to the "New content" icon) as the sole definition of what the icons mean is at the bottom of each post page and it clearly states:
[Solid blue]: New content since your last visit
[Half blue]: Updated content since your last visit
When I click on a thread flagged with the half blue icon (from My Subscriptions) I expect to see that one or more posts have been updated, however *none of the post have the half blue icon*. This is problem #1.
Once in the thread I do see one or more posts with the solid blue icon. Here's my second problem: if blue means "New content since your last visit" *why am I seeing posts for the second time flagged with the solid blue dot* ?AnalogKid17 wrote:

In the instance you give, it is because the TOPIC has been updated (half-blue) with a new (solid blue) POST. IIRC, when some one EDITs of of their posts then you may see the half-blue dot for that post.
Ah, I was right, I just edited this post and it had a half-blue dot.
