Buggiest software I've ever used

I can honestly say that iTunes 11.4 is the BUGGIEST freakin' software I've ever used. I can't hide my purchases in the cloud, because all it does is reset the view when I click on the X. Also, when I try to scroll through my purchased apps, it kind of eats up visible apps.
Does anyone else have this problem? Any solution? I have a super slow iPod Touch 4th gen, so I can't do much in there for apps. It resets itself when I try to download anything.
If anyone has any solutions, please, PLEASE let me know!

If you call something "intuitive" it's mainly because your brain has grown used to work with an interface in a certain way. You brain automatically knows where to find what. So when they suddenly change certain parts of that interface, your brain gets confused. It takes more clicking around to find what you need. You call it counter-intuitive. It's annoying.....the first weeks at least. I work with iTunes 12 for quite some time now. If I try to use iTunes 11 I get a little confused. It takes more clicking around to find what I want. Is iTunes 11 become less intuitive. No. My brain developed a new routine.
So "Hopelessly counter-intuitive" says more about your state of mind, than about the quality of the program. Useless documentation, tutorials or Apple-assistence have nothing to do with the quality of the program (as far as I can see there's a good "help-feature" for beginners). There's nothing wrong with the search engine and I can drag and drop files managing my playlists and devices, as I always have in iTunes (even a little better, because they moved some icons from the sidebar to the top white bar, so playlists and devices show up right next to my library).
What might be inexcusable nonsens it that you have limited knowledge on the possibilities of iTunes or how to operate the program, but have strong opinions about it nonetheless.
iTunes 12.0.1 shows to much bugs. Some people can't even open the program in OS X Yosemite. This community has found some workarounds for now, but this release is not one of "Apple's finest moments". So if you want to criticize iTunes, be my guest, but do it for the right reasons. This way you're helping no one, and this is support to be a support community.

  • The worst software I have ever used

I have an Ipod Nano 4gb which was a birthday present back in October. Looking through this forum I see that I'm not the only one having problems.
My conclusion is that although the ipod is brilliant the software to get tunes onto it is the worst I have ever come acrossIt's so slow,it does diferent things each time it's used, it's not user freindly, it's just crap (itunes). I've heard a lot about Apple being the best computers from my experience with itunes I would need a lot of convincing.
Very dissatisfied, come on Apple show us what you can do with an updated version of Itunes that is both useable and friendly, we shouldn't have to rely on those on the forum to put our problems right

I have to agree with Mitch here. iTunes is one of the easiest and most user friendly pieces of software I have ever used, and that's my expereince on both Windows and a Mac.
Maybe if you asked a question of the many knowledgeable folks here, you would get some help?

Yeah, I know what you mean. The tyres on my Mercedes as supplied by the manufacturer were poor. Must mean my car is garbage huh?

  • V CAST Media Manager is the worst piece of crap software I've ever used...

I mean, who wrote this thing?  Sorting is f*d up, uploading files is a freaking nightmare, so much scrolling around because you current view is not cached when you click to a different area...
    This thing is total junk.
So I started using it yesterday.  Selected a bunch of albums that I wanted to upload to my online area.  Was logged in there and everything, so I think I'm cool.  Since there's no menu option to know for certain that I want to upload, I'm left to only the drag and drop option and hope that it is the correct action...
I say hope because nothing is instantaneous.  It sits there and spins, no obvious visual activity (i.e. a progress bar showing how much has been loaded, how many files are left to load, estimated time to completion, etc.).
Since I'm loading a bunch of albums, I figure it's going to take awhile and I just walk away from the computer.  This morning, though, most of my files are not there.  I find the transfer logs only to find the obvious messages of "Failed to load file xxx".  Yeah, that helps me diagnose whether it is my problem or verizon's problem...
So of the ones that loaded (like 9 songs out of 90), I see they're mostly from one album.  Well, now I have to pick the songs that didn't transfer in order to get them put up.  Album has a total of 12 songs...  So I can't remember the 9, so I start playing w/ the sorting in order to help me remember...  Well sort from the full music list is only ever on one column, and appears to randomize after that (i.e. I picked sort local media by album, but the songs are not ordered in any specific way after that); Tried clicking on song title, then album hoping that after the primary album sort the tracks would sort by title, but no...  Meanwhile I finally get to the point where I'm just looking at the album itself by folding down the list on the left.  What a mistake.  The list is of album names, of which I've got hundreds.  Now I'm scrolling down to find the online guy to click it to see what songs are there, then scrolling to find the album (which happens to be up near the top).  By the time I get there I'm so **bleep** off about the crappy interface that I'm back to scrolling again...
The only thing the application is: flashy.  Sure, there's lots of red black and white.  After that it's worthless...
I mean, what's wrong with the multiple document format?  One window for local, one window for online, etc.  I mean, that way I could compare/contrast the two...  Or even a side by side view w/ the arrow buttons in between so the transfer option is obvious.  And the sorting?  Surely the primary and secondary sorting identification is nothing new (in case you don't know it, when the user picks a new column to sort on, their current column and sorting direction become the secondary sort option).
Anyways, I think I'm going to have to dump the whole online option.  If this tool is the only thing I can use to sync music w/o plugging in, then I'll just plug in and use windows media player.  At least that tool works...

TOTAL AGREEMENT. Except calling this *** software "crap" is being far too polite. This is an HTC Incredible attempting to connect to WIndows 7 64-bit.
All I want to do is transfer audio files to my phone. I don't care about storing anything on line.
    1. Since the phone wouldn't simply mount in Windows Explorer the way my Droid does, I am forced to install software I do not want.
    2. After installing the Vcrap software, the phone mounts in Windows Explorer as CDROM J: which cannot be opened. When I launch Vcrap the phone appears within Vcrap as Phone K: and phone L:.
    3. When I attempt transferring files to phone K: (since there is no option to transfer the files to the drive letter J: that the phone is apparently using) the transfers fail.
    4. In an attempt to test the phone when I attempt transferring any media files from the phone, the transfers fail.
    5. When I navigate within the Vcrap application to "How to connect to your phone" a blank screen appears. So far, the blank screen is the most honest part of the Vcrap software. It really doesn't have a clue.
At this point I am faced with calling tech support, no doubt waiting on hold along with other poor suckers stuck with this issue and then being connected to someone in India who speaks poor english - yet another communication problem. Why is it that companies that present themselves as being communication specialists SEVERELY SUCK at communication?
Let's face it: Verizon feels that sticking you with an $80 a month bill isn't ripping you off enough. Now they want to get you to purchase media from them. I've already got 30 gigs of my favorite music on my hard drive that I'd like to listen to from my phone. I don't want to buy any new music. it's pretty much crap (just like this software) anyway.
The reason I did NOT want an iPhone is solely because of iTunes, another *** software application (although it works) that takes over your PC's media collection and forces you to do things you don't want to do.
The Motorola Driod I have works perfectly: it mounts when connected; I drag and drop my media files and the media player of my choice recognizes the files and plays them. Brilliant. Too bad Verizon's greed is keeping me from a smooth user experience such as that. This lousy experience will influence my future decisions in phone carriers and the type of phone I purchase. I cannot BELIEVE that this is what Google had in mind with they launched the Android OS for phones.

  • Itunes is one of the worst pieces of software I've ever used

Using the latest version of iTunes is one of the worst experiences I've ever had with Apple
    Love the products they make
but the way the company decided to think it knows best rather than actually making a piece of software that is functional
It is a sad state of affairs when iTunes from 5 years ago actually functions better and more efficiently with an iphone than the current version
Syncing Apps, changing pages and folders is unbelievably clunky and poor
I would be ashamed to put my companies name to something so bad

  • The most frustrating software i have ever used.

I am getting an error message "The localized resource files for this application could not be loaded.  Please reinstall or repair the application and try again.  This I have been doing since 9:00 a.m. this morning.  I purchased the Student version of Illustrator 4 and photoshop 4 for my highschooler who is planning on majoring in graphic arts.  I am no IT person but I have loaded software before.  I have been trying to load (correctly) illustrator for the past two weeks.  At each step there was a problem that took me days/ to resolve.  As i said, I am no IT person.  Below is  a message I posted earlier today.  I finally found an answer posted by someone named Bret and it worked!!!!!.  Please can someone help me with the above problem.  I am so afaid of installing Photoshop extended if I can get illustrator.
I am far from being an IT person and am very frustrated in loading this software.   I purchased the student version of Adobe photoshop  CS4 extended and Adobe Illustrator CS4.  My daughter had put a trial version on our computer for an art project. A month later I purchased both Adobe photoshop cs4 extended  and Illustrator 4.  I had trouble loading illustrator until I deleted the trial version.  After deleting cs4 extended, the illustrator worked. However something messed up my printer.  I did a system restore (opps) which messed up my Macafee virus.  I finally fixed Macafee with the help of the customer service.  However, the system restore took off the illustrator and put the cs4 extended version back on.  What a DAY.  I waited a week to try to reinstall illustrator and the CS4 extended.  Now my system will not let me uninstall the trial version nor put illustrator on correctly.  Help--you are my only hope.

Did you read the systems requirements?

Microsoft® Windows® XP with Service Pack 2 (Service Pack 3 recommended) or Windows Vista® Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, or Enterprise with Service Pack 1 (certified for 32-bit Windows XP and Windows Vista)

  • Have you guy's ever used software to overclock?

I am a noob as you can tell from my post. :hypecrite:
I am building a system using:
         MSI K7N2 DELTA L
         AMD 2500+ Barton (333 FSB)
         Corsair PC 3200 DDR
Has anyone ever used and had success with the following O'C. programs:
         SOFTFSB / BUSRACING / CPUBOOST
How easy it for a novice to overclock  this chip without software?
    Thanks for all your help.
    Ray K.

The software overclocking programs you give won't work on the Nforce2 anyway.
here are some that have much more chances to work and are very easy to use:
     - clockgen: choose the nforce2 program
     - Nvidia System utility
     - 8rdavcore
This should give you a good feel for it.
An advice: overclock slowly, 1MHz FSB at a time and test using prime95.
Overclocking too much too fast can
     - lead to instabilities
     - freeze or reboot your system
     - even damage some part (very rare)
    Have fun!

  • How to update software on multiple iPhones using same iTunes account?

How to update software on multiple iPhones using same iTunes account?

    SeanB15 wrote:
Here are more details on my situation which should help clarify things...
I purchased three iPhone 4 models back when they first came out (for my family) that all share the same iTunes account for access to apps and music, but each phone/user still has his/her custom contact list, email accts, and select lists of apps and music from the one iTunes acct library.  The problem is (as I understand it) that I can only update the software on one of the three iPhones – the primary phone I used to setup the iTunes acct without wiping out the separate contact lists, etc. As it stands today... the first (primary) iPhone associated with the iTune acct has been updated with the latest software version 5.1.1 and sync'd up with all the apps, music, etc from the one iTune acct, while the other two iPhones are still running on the original software version 4.0.2 and are experiencing problems now. I was advised by AT&T back in January that it would be necessary to setup separate iTunes accts for the second and third iPhones in order to receive system updates and still be able to manage separate contact lists, etc. If I go this route, I assume we will lose all the apps on phones #2 and #3 that we have been "sharing"... correct? Since this AT&T advice was prior to iCloud coming out, would iCloud be a better solution or at least part of the solution? I really don't yet understand how iCloud works. Hopefully, one of you can help me??
we have 2 iphone 4's synced to the same itunes account for apps and music since the day we bought them, but each has a different icloud acct. they have both been updated on the same itunes account with every update that has come out since we bought them in december of 2010. nothing on either phone has ever been lost or duplicated. having said all that, maybe i'm missing something here, but we have had no problems. we do have itunes setup to sync manually. i do believe i'm a piker compared to lawrence finch, but i'm just telling you what happens in my house. maybe check with apple? is there a store near you?

    Hi Gregg,
Have you tried resetting the device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Home screen redisplays, see if your Music app is behaving normally.

  • Apple App Store Worst On-Line Store I Have Ever Used

For the first time ever I used the Apple App Store to upgrade my Macbook Pro to OS X Lion, I have only had a Mac for 8 months. I have to say I was surprised and extremely disappointed to find out that it is the worst on-line store I have ever used.
To start with I couldn't find out how to buy Lion, it is the first store I have ever been into that doesn't have a "Buy" or "Add to Cart" button. After twenty minutes of signing on / off, going out / back in, I discovered that if you click on the price it turns into a "Buy" button. Why not put a message on the screen to tell people to do this? I wonder how many customers they have lost who have just given up and gone elsewhere. Surely if the purpose of the site is to sell it should be obvious how you buy.
Having discovered this I thought it would be simple but no, you click on the "Buy" button and nothing happens, eventually over a minute later the "Buy" button changed to say "Installing". At no time did I get a message up saying something like "Please wait while we process your order". The site says follow the instructions, no instructions, no messages about download time, where the download would be located, etc, were given.
After this nothing else happened the only way I knew that the download was happening was that the lights on my router were flashing. I did eventually find that a Lion icon had been put in the dock with a progress bar. When I did find this I then found out that my download was going to take over 26 hours. Don't Apple realise that not everybody lives in towns and cities with superfast broadband. There are lots of people who only have access to normal broadband. The advertising states that there is no need to buy and load CD's. It would be preferable to losing the use of both my PC and Laptop for over 24 hours which is what has effectively happened as using them only extends the download time.
Another sign of poor service is the fact that a receipt was not sent to me until 14 hours after I made the purchase. Most other on-line stores send this out within an hour of the order being placed.
This experience means that I will definitely not be using Apple App Store again, if I can't get the software from an alternative source I will do without. It makes me wonder whether or not it was a good idea to convert from a PC.
    ElBeardo

Have you looked in your Applications Folder for the App Store.
If it is truly missing and/or deleted... Go here and Download and Install the 10 7 3 Combo Update

This is Safe to do... be sure to Restart your computer after the Install.

  • This is more of a statement than a question but I can't stand iTunes. It is THE WORST application I've ever used.

The single worst application I've ever used. Period. I'll never buy another song or use it as a back up again. I'll pay $9.99 per month for Spotify and a cloud-based back up service instead of using this PoS software to backup my family's iPhones. I consider myself a loyal Apple user having owned at least two Apple computers since the early 1990's.

If you like crappy quality and remakes of songs from nobodys then use Spotify. If you can't use iTunes then maybe you need computer lessons. It doesn't get much easier than iTunes. Yes,they changed it and made it a bit clunky if you ask me, but for an all around video and music manager, CD burner, streamer and radio,it doesn't get much better.

  • Best Computer I've Ever Used

Hey everybody, well, I finally went out and got my blackbook. and let me tell you, this thing is incredible! It is not only the sleekest and sexiest computer that i've ever seen, but it is so fast, it's incredible. Now, mind you, I'm coming from a iMac G4 700MHz with 256 ram, and i'm playing on a 2.0ghz 80 gig, 2 gig ram macbook.
this is honestly one of the most amazing machines that i've ever used. the keyboard is extreemly tactile, and it responds very well. It is actually better, i've found, than almost every other laptop i've used for typing fast (the keys rebound so quickly!)
So, for any of you who have concerns about the postings on this website, don't worry at all. It is truly a machine to buy and enjoy. Heat issues are non existant, and i've yet to hear a moo. This thing is flawless. Buy Now!

Windows PC. I can laugh about it now, but, my pc ended up infested with a virus that no virus software was able to locate until it was much much too late...in the process, it destroyed all of the info on my secondary hard drive as well....200gb of lost photos, music, movies etc. I have yet to bring that hard drive to a technician because I am scared to hear that it could all possibly be lost forever. Music and movies I can replace, photos, I cannot. Thankfully, I had backed many of them up or sent copies to friends and family. Also, I uploaded many pics to photo sites. There were however, dozens that were not I've been really busy over the past few months and was unable to do so. BTW, the PC is just over 2 months old. Anyway, the moral of the story is that I am hoping that these problems will not be nearly as big an issue with Mac. I want to be able to leave my computer for an hour or two unattended without worrying about losing everything. I hope that's not too much to ask.

Yes, well I ignoratly created a second Apple ID when first setting up my MacBook, and when I go to the "My Purchases" in my Mac App Store, and it shows the apps I've uninstalled, and the apps that are available to update. When I tap on the update icon/text I get a drop down notice, telling me that I have other apps that can be updated using the Apple ID I used to purchase the *apps* in Mac App Store. As far as I am aware  I have only used ONE  Apple ID to purchase Mac Apps, iPhone Apps, and iTunes. I have tried MANY, MANY times to find my second Apple ID. I've gone through and used every email address I making sure non of them were my second Apple Id's . SO is there anyway that I can update my apps using my main apple ID?

So you are saying that you only ever used the old Apple ID to buy content on the iPhone and the Mac? You never used the new Apple ID to buy content for the Mac?

How can I use iCloud again after upgrading OS to Mountain Lion?  2 days of trying every password I have ever used, AND changing Apple ID and iTunes ID, still nothing. Can't backup on iCloud anymore.

Apple ID's can be used for anything, a single ID can be used for all your accounts (ie iCloud, iTunes, MAS, Apple community etc), ideally this would be the way forward. So far as iTunes goes you need to continue to use the same ID as you have always used or you will lose access to your previous purchases and your iTunes match subscription.
If you are using a second ID for iCloud, you can continue to do so or use the ID you use for iTunes, but if you choose the later you will need to move all your calendar, contact etc data to the account using the ID you use for iTunes.
When (if) you change which account you use you would delete the account on an iOS device and log back in with the correct details, on a mac you would sign out in the iCloud system preference pane.
