Bugs in DW 2014.1
Hi there, its been two days since I downloaded the new version of CC (2014.1) on my iMac. I have discovered many bugs this time.
1. SVG extracted with PS do not show up in browser, have to re-save them in Illustrator setting the "Interactive" option in save dialog.
2. Trying to open SVG lets crash Illustrator -> no way to open at all, either using place, open, drag & drop...
3. Cant use color picker in CSS designer in DW
4. Cant open SVG files from CSS designer dialog, they are greyed out
5. Live-view editing does not work if page is extracted from template page (if not template, i. e. has locked regions)
I dont know whether this is the right place to post? Bug report form takes so much time...

update: I could reinstall the panel, the JS error about onResize still pops up. Nothing to do with version. At least panel opens nevertheless and is usable. But the window still ist not able to show the content properly. Cant that be fixed finally? The funny thing is, that all the time-saving features of the products are worthless, because I now need the time to install and fix and re-install new versions and AddOns and other time-saving features.

Hi all,
I have a pile of (server) reports here designed and working fine against 2008 SSRS. We recently upgraded to SQL 2014, and all working great, except for the images in the reports.
The images are UNC paths supplied by the report query, and supplied as an External image type, with an expression. The following format was working:
="file:" & "\\SERVER\SHARE\Path.jpg"
Hard coding a valid UNC path doesn't work either. For testing purposes I've physically logged into a machine as the SSRS service account and can access the image at the UNC path without any issues. The image files still show fine in
the BIDS 2008 designer, although once deployed show a red X.
I've been sticking with 2008 BIDS because not being able to preview a report in the new Visual Studio is a dealbreaker for me.
Any help appreciated, or anyone able to confirm this is a bug?

Believe the bug to be related to the new cardinality estimator. In my case joining 7 tables it took 4 seconds to see the query execution plan, with 8 tables it took 1 minute and with 9 tables 15
minutes! the actual processing of the query plan was sub second. (each table has only two records...)
It looks as if there is a workload in the cardinality estimator that escalates as the number of tables and join columns increases.
We have a number of these queries in our application and the bug is a showstopper for our customers. They will have to set compatibility level to 110 (sqlserver 2012) to run the app. Then they should
probably not upgrade from 2012...
Is this a known bug? What is the bug number? How can I follow the bug to see when it is fixed?
Here is my testcase: (first building tables and data, and then the query with some comments. A version spending 15 minutes in the optimizer, takes 0 seconds to complete with the hint "option (QUERYTRACEON 9481) ". we can't use this
hint in the application because no dba will allow an application like ours to run as sysadmin...

I states that a "small number of queries might show regressions". To mee the regression is a showstopper and seems to have to do with complexity. I found one query reported by Juha Salo (bug 893758) that possibly could have to do with the same thing.
It is a query with many joins. Simplifying the query by removing one of the joins, makes it work fine. The query documented in his report does not need any setup as it is a query on system tables as sys.indexes and sys.index_columns.

Can be run in any database. In our case we have a legacy database with almost 10 000 (ten thousand) tables. In that kind of database the query just freezes fully utilizing a single cpu core.
If compatibility level is switched to 110 then query performs as it should. -
Multiple monitor UI bugs in CC 2014/Mavericks
I have two new bugs that I'm seeing since the 2014 update. I'm running 10.9.4, and use two monitors, one for my images, and another for all of my palettes (less, of course, my beloved custom panel created in the now deprecated Configurator).
When I click on a layer and try to adjust it's opacity, the slider to adjust opacity appears in the appropriate place . . . but on the wrong monitor. It looks like it is placing it exactly under the entry box, but is confused as to which monitor the entry box and it's corresponding layers palette is displayed on. It still functions correctly, as do the arrow keys in the entry box, but it is a little disconcerting. This did not happen with CC 2013 (sic).
The other one is just a weird quirk, that every time I save, a handful of my palettes seem to quiver while the save is happening. It is always the history palette, and usually a few others. Also a new behavior.I am having the same exact issue! My panels are on my right screen and my application on my left. When I go to the transparencies, typefaces, tint etc, those slider bars show up on the left screen instead of under its panel on the right screen. If you find a fix, please let me know. Transform/Bounding Box Bug Illustrator CC 2014 18.1.0
Hi Guys,
I did a little screencast here, anyway the bug is a simple one to explain. For some reason the transform/bounding box disappears on single objects, but behaves normally on multiples and groups.
Such a small thing but very annoying.

All those alternatives certainly match up to the testing I'd done, probably the fastest/cleanest is to just hit "unite" in the pathfinder palette.
For the benefit of other users, coming only recently from CS5 this is an interesting new option, MENU = OBJECT > SHAPE > EXPAND RECTANGLE (snapshot below) once you have "Expanded" the rectangle it will behave as expected where toggling back to the black Selection Tool (V) will show the transform handles.
I'll be heading over to Yosemite in the next week if I get some downtime to make it happen! (crosses fingers - back up - back up - back up...)

Hi there, its been two days since I downloaded the new version of CC (2014.1) on my iMac. I have discovered many bugs this time.
1. SVG extracted with PS do not show up in browser, have to re-save them in Illustrator setting the "Interactive" option in save dialog.
2. Trying to open SVG lets crash Illustrator -> no way to open at all, either using place, open, drag & drop...
3. Cant use color picker in CSS designer in DW
4. Cant open SVG files from CSS designer dialog, they are greyed out
5. Live-view editing does not work if page is extracted from template page (if not template, i. e. has locked regions)
I dont know whether this is the right place to post? Bug report form takes so much time...Post in the relevant product forums to discuss specific bugs and issues.

Nice bugs in Muse 2014.2.1.44 - text that moves on hover & failed cropping
I spent the morning (4 hours) trying to work around Muse bugs - impossible.
Cropping - The "hold the cmd key and move an image handle to crop" no longer works. The crop tool does allow cropping - that's good. No picture on my site will crop by doing a cmd-drag on a image side or top handle - it resizes the entire image. I used to do this fine... never a problem.
Text Moving on Hover - I wanted to use a hover on text where the bottom border appears on hover - a nice 3px line with color. (Just doing this for a standalone link - not inline text) You can do it using states with the text box, or a regular box around text; but everything below it, including the footer, moves when your cursor enters the box to initiate hover. It actually moves up a pixel or two. UGH. I even put a 3px bottom border on in the normal state (and matched background color on the border) so that the box size would not change on hover - it still moves the entire page below it. (I can post a page if needed.)
And a I have a home page with a composition widget that will no longer will click through to the components inside it - only the widget borders can be clicked. (I'll delete it and build it again.)

Hi Everyone, I am unable to ftp to GoDaddy with Muse 2014.2 no matter what settings I use, including basic FTP to my server's IP address. Is there a new Hotfix? I am running Muse on latest Yosemite. I would really like to get this working, so that I can use in browser editing with a client.
I can ftp to the same account using FileZilla or other external ftp clients like ForkLift. So the login is fine and so is ftp. When I use Muse I get the error: "Could not sign you in. Check your user name and password, and try again." If I press "resume" over and over again, with the patience of a spinal surgeon, it will finally compete.
Please help or advise if you can.Having the same issue here. Server, User Name and Password are all correct (double, triple, quadruple, quintuple checked).
Still receive the following error.
Ended up being a hosting-side error. -
I created area type object and then edited the tab ruler by changing the "second" line indent. When I attempted to reset the indent to "0" the setting would not change. I also tried resetting it numerically, same result. Finally, AI CC 2014 crashed (no, I did not save the crash report).
I resaved the file as CS5 compatible and it worked flawlessly in CS5.
Once again I find myself relying on the venerable CS5 to accomplish my work.
This zipped file contains a CC2104 and CS5 version of the VERY SIMPLE file. Can someone try to edit the Tab Ruler in CC2014 and see if the indent will change? If this is caused by user error please tell me what I'm doing wrong.
Note: The area text shape has an assigned style and each line of text is assigned a "Character Style".

BUG - Edge animate 2014.1 (October) can't open old files (from 2014 version)
In this new version I can’t open old files anymore…
When I open file that created in previous version 92014, for example) new Edge - 2014.1 - want to upgrade the file, but then I receive “an error occurred while upgrading file”…
And there is no way to download old version and to change old files if i need some changes in text, for example...

Bug in Teststand 2014 Simple UI Example ?

I am using Teststand 2014 and LabVIEW 2013 SP1.
I would like to create a UI for a Teststand sequence that I have created.
I have started with the Simple UI example (Source Code) shipped with NI.
Located at - C:\Users\Public\Documents\National Instruments\TestStand 2014 (32-bit)\UserInterfaces\Simple\LabVIEW\Source Code
I have encountered with an unexpected behaviour - when running the User Interface VI and selecting a Sequence, it works fineat first, but if I Exit the application (the VI return to edit mode), I cannot run the application again until I close LabVIEW completely.
There seems to be more resources that are open.\\
Steps to reproduce -
1. Create an Empty VI (called 1.vi for example)
2. Create a Sequence that only calls the 1.vi in the Main Group. (called 1.seq for example)
3. Open 'Build Script.lvproj' located at "C:\Users\Public\Documents\National Instruments\TestStand 2014 (32-bit)\UserInterfaces\Simple\LabVIEW\Source Code"
4. Open and run Top-Level.vi.
5. Click on 'Open Sequence File' and Select the 1.seq, Click on 'Single Pass' and the application should finish running the sequence (with the one VI in it) very fast.
6. Exit the application.
7. repeat on steps 4 and 5.
Am I missing something ?
When using the compiled application (exe), it works fine when called repeatedly.
I would like to be able to add changes to the VI and to be able to run it again and again...

I tried with the same combination and did the exact steps to reproduce.
With the "Reserve Loaded VIs for execution" enabled i am seeing this :
After execution is completed if i click on close execution and close sequence file, the empty test vi is read only (reserved - not in edit mode)
However when i disable this :
After execution and clickingon "close execution" + "close sequence file" -- i can edit the test vi.
Probably i am missing something from the steps to reproduce?
Additionally did you observe this behaviour with other UI/Sequence editor?

With the recent upgrade of Adobe Muse DC 2014, now I have two versions installed Adobe Muse v. 7.4 (32 bit) and Adobe Muse CC 2014 (64 bits). The problem is that in the "Adobe Muse CC 2014" version I get as shareware (TRIAL 30 days) I count on annual subscription for Adobde Muse. If someone could give me a solution for this problem because practically Muse would be obliged to pay again for Muse in version 2014 and taking a credit for one year with the old version.

BUG: Indesign CC 2014 - significant image artifacts with 'export as JPG'
Issue
Spreads exported from InDesign as maximum quality JPGs have heavy artifacts not present in PDF's with equivalent image compression settings.
Steps
Export spread to JPG (max, baseline, 300ppi)
Export spread to PDF (image compression set to JPG, maximum)
Compare both files in Photoshop at 100%
Results
Maximum quality JPGs are significantly artifacted.
Expected Results
Maximum quality JPGs should be identical to PDF images with equivalent image compression settings (and should be virtually indistinguishable from original files sized equivalently in Photoshop (and saved via Photoshop's 'Save for Web').

I'm very familiar with the limitations of JPG's in pre-press work. Please trust that I have legitimate reasons for needing InDesign to export spreads as JPGs with the same image quality as is possible when exporting as a PDF (or using Photoshop's 'Save For Web' function with the source file sized identically as the spread in question.)

Since posting (and just before reading your reply), I discovered an additional constraint on replicating the issue:
–it only appears when the linked image has been upscaled* (in my example, 107.1%)
*keep in mind, the PDF was upscaled to the same degree, ruling out it being solely an upscaling issue
–testing at 'even-magnification' scales (i.e. 150%) simply resulted in increased pixelation compared to the same PDF export (see samples below)
–testing at 'odd-magnification' scales (i.e. 101%) generated random artifacts (like those visible in the samples of my initial post)
–as such, this is likely more of a resampling/aliasing issue than jpg-artifacting.
That is, it would seem that upscaled images seem to enjoy a higher-quality resampling method when exported as PDFs.
I'd be curious to see how your test fared with upscaled images.

BUG - Edge animate 2014.1.1 (February) pivot doesn't remain in browser
When animating in Edge Animate I manually position the "anchor point" with the "Transform Tool (q)" or the origin percentages in the Transform panel. I can animate my rotations around this pivot and in Edge this looks correct. But when I publish the pivot is reset to the original center of the svg asset not where I set it. Thank you,
