Build a New Libary vs. Add Files?

I need advice about the choice creating a new library file or adding files to the library.
Here is the situation:
My computer was stolen . On the computer that was stolen I had I-Tunes installed. The music/media files were on an external hard drive and the library file was on the computer's hard disk. When the computer (a lap-top) was stolen, the thieves unplugged it from everything and took just the computer. So - luckily for me - they left behind the external hard drive with the media files. But, when they stole the computer they took the library file with them. It was not backed up.
Now, I have a replacement to which I have added the same old external hard drive with all the media files. Once I install I-Tunes on my new computer and authorize it for my Apple-ID, my question is how best to recreate a library file. I have conceded that my play-lists are lost . All I need to do is create the database of the music that is on the external hard-drive.
I'm tentatively planning to use Advanced Preferences to set the location of the media folder to the location on the media folder on the external hard-drive I had been using previsously. Then, what to do about the library file? Do I add the files in this location to the library? Do I shift-click to start I-Tunes and create a new library file? Will doing so cause I-Tunes to add all the media files to my newly created library? In my particular circumstances, will it make any difference?
So, do any of you who are well informed have good advice for me? I would be grateful.

Hi, I'm fairly new to FrameMaker scripting. This is what I'm trying to do and where I'm at:
1) Convert .mif files to .fm files (completed)
2) Start a new book
3) Add each .fm in folder to book in step 2.
Any help in getting started with step 2 & 3 would be greatly appreciated.

Anyway to "UN" Ken Burns stills globally or as default bringing in jpeg's? New to iMovie. I have 3 titles that build. First is logo, add prod't name second line, add date 3rd line. They shift when dissolving between them. Title function NG for this.

The people at the Apple store gave me a long, tedious workaround which is open Pages and bring in logo. Export it as a PDF. Open the PDF in Review and then "Save As" a jpg to the desktop and drag and drop into the imovie. Even with this process, the text will sometimes shift. When it works, it looks good, the logo comes up, then the second line fades in under it as part of the build and then the third line completes the graphic. It would something this easy and straight forward would be easy.

I did the work around for the titles/jpg's in this short video.
I'll try your fix on the next one. I have 22 short 3-5 minute videos to produce
and I'm on number 5. This should save me a bunch of time.

I already tried fixing them individually as you suggested,
by going the crop/fit route. However, even then,
the second in the series had always shifted.
The first and the third images lined up, but not number 2..
So I brought in all the images, (1, 2 and 3).
and then the 2nd image again and put it in the third position
in the sequence on the time line. I deleted the "original" 2nd image.
So I had 1, 3, then 2. Then I dragged and dropped the correct number two
into position two and it worked. So what happens is that the
client logo appears, then that stays put and the next line dissolves in
and then the third dissolves in. They are three separate titles, but they
are aligned perfectly so that they build as I dissolve between them.
I think the problem with the edit copy route would be that while
I could edit/copy the logo, I couldn't position text through the
iMovie text function exactly as it only gives you middle or bottom third etc.
Each title with the product name is positioned individually depending on
length and number of lines. By going through Pages, I can position the logo
and the text exactly. Also, some logos are horizontal, while others
are square etc., so text positioning is crucial.Anyhow,
I'll try the global approach for the next one and see how that works.

It's not a unique situation - happens all the time, smaller hard drives getting filled up.
It's also easy to fix. I just moved my itunes content to a bigger hard drive.
First I made a backup of the itunes database file - iTunes Library.itl. Just in case anything went wrong.
Nothing did go wrong, but I'd have it in case anything DID go wrong. That file holds ratings, playcounts, Date Added, and other metadata.
Second, in itunes change the preferences > advanced tab to tell itunes to put everything on G:
Set the itunes folder location to something like G:Media or G:iTunes
This will affect all FUTURE additions to itunes and not do anything to the existing locations.
Make sure the checkbox for "Keep itunes organized" is NOT checked. I also left the "Copy files when adding" unchecked.
Third, to move all the files to G: without itunes losing the paths, run the File > Library > Organize > Consolidate command. This will need to run a while, so be patient as it copies all the files to the new G: location. This does NOT delete the originals. You will have to do that.
Fourth, make sure everything in itunes is OK and you can play stuff in your library. If you're really cautious you can run a script to check for missing/dead tracks.

In iTunes 11 uncheck the preferences setting in in the iTunes Preferences panel "Advanced > Copy Files to iTunes Media folder when adding to Library"

I am working on a publishing site collection using the enterprise wiki template. Currently when users want to insert an image inside the rich text editor, they will be prompted with the following:-
And if the user insert a picture that already exists then it will replace the existing one, which might cause the picture to be displayed inside a Wiki page which it does not belong to !!
So is there a way to do any of the following:-
Give the new picture a unique auto generated name?
To un-check the   “Add as a new version to existing files” by default?
Or to always prevent replacing images, as this can cause many conflicts !!
Can anyone advice ?please?

Can't add files to new iMac HD

I just bought my iMac and for some reason I cannot add files nor make/delete a folder on it without first being asked to type in my password. So logically I went into the user preferences to temporarily delete my password. I restarted my computer and then tried again to try to drag and drop a file or make a new folder and rename it and the computer still presents the dialog box to enter in my password, even if there isn't one to be typed in the field. I have never seen this before. How do I change this?

Is there a way to add files to a package without repackaging in a new folder?

So I'm working on this promotional binder for a company. I'm working section by section including photos and whatnot. Anyways, I got to a certain point with one section and packaged everything so I could start anew the following day.
My question is this: is there a way for me to add files to the InDesign file I already packaged WITHOUT having to repackage in a new folder and archive the old one?
I mean it just seems to me that I SHOULD be able to select the package option and the work would repackage/update the package, much like a Word file would when you select the save button.
(And if there isn't, is someone at Adobe paying attention that could make this a possibility? That would be fantastic.)

You can Add images to your package by using the Links Panel submenu (top right) and choose Utilities> copy links to...
And you can select the images you want first - or don't select any to copy them all.
Fonts - not so much.
But that's one easy way to get new images into your packaged folder.
But I don't like this to be honest. I much prefer creating a new Package and calling it "Version 2" or "Final Artwork" or something that is right by your file naming convention.

iTunes does not actively scan the media folders. If you manually add content to a folder, then you must add that content to iTunes manually via the File > Add File/Folder feature.
The only folder that gets scanned is the "Automatically add to iTunes" folder.

[SOLVED] Cannot Add Files to Existing Briefcases; New Briefcases OK

I have a user - probably the only user I can recall ever using this feature - that is unable to add files to existing briefcases.
When attempting to drag & drop a file into a briefcase (any) a small window or pop-up appears & disappears and the file isn't present. The pop-up displays and hides all too fast for us to see what was written as it happened well under a second.
The problem seems specific to the existing briefcases:
If the user creates a new briefcase, and copies the files from the old briefcase into the new, just like above nothing actually gets copied into the new briefcase.
If the user copies the files from the old briefcase into their desktop, then copies the files from the desktop into the new briefcase, it works fine.
So the current fauxlution (faux+solution) is to go through the latter process, but they have a few dozen briefcases and that's going to take some time.
To be quite candid, I'm not entirely sure where to begin - how does one go about fixing a broken briefcase?

Sorry but I'm afraid to say that with limited information, it's somewhat hard to find out what exactly happened. What is the result when copying from a new briefcase to another new briefcase directly? Are there anything recorded in the event viewer?
Might be helpful for troubleshooting.
Since we're unable to reproduce this issue, I recommend you use process monitor to trace the process when copying the files form old to new briefcase.

In msbuild files are include/exclude in ItemGroup like the following MSDN article mentioned:
How to: Select the Files to Build
How to: Exclude Files from the Build
So here you need to consider put them in the ItemGroup and use your files in your target.

URGENT: Need help to add files to OA Project in JDev 9i

JDeveloper 9.0.3.5 (Build 1453)
1. The standard iProcurement NonCatalogRequestPG page is running fine in PRODUCTION and I have been asked to do enhancements like VO extn etc so I am trying to import files from server to JDev on my local machine.
2. FTP $JAVA_TOP/oracle/apps/icx/*.* to c:/jdeveloper/jdevhome/jdev/myclasses/oracle/apps/icx
and FTP $ICX_TOP/mds/*.* to c:/jdeveloper/jdevhome/jdev/myprojects/oracle/apps/icx
4. Open Jdev and create OA Workspace & OA Project (default package: oracle.apps.icx)
5. When trying to Add files and directories to OA Project, created in step 4, its bringing all files at one level. I dont see any hierarchical directory structure i.e. I dont see package like oracle.apps.icx with sub-directories like punchout, icatalog, lov,etc What I see is all files at one level under xxicx.jpr
What am I missing here, PLEASE HELP...

What you are doing is very simple job and I am sure you will achieve whatever you want.
create a directory structure od seeded VO in your myprojects dir. then just copy vo.xml, voimpl.java and vorowimpl.java in that dir. create a BC4J component for thsi dir structure and then create new Vo with extends property as this seeded VO.
If you still have a problem, please upload screenshot of problem to some website, I will download from there.
