Build ADF jar from maven

Can we use maven to build ADF jar from one project which contains reusable components such as page template and task flow and the ADF jar is being used in another UI projects?
Thanks

Have tried google?
I found http://groups.google.com/group/adf-methodology/web/maven-and-jdeveloper-adf-projects?pli=1 for a start.

  • Building ADF  application Using Maven

    I have a requirement to build the Adf application using Maven.
    My JDeveloper version is 11.1.1.3 and I imported the Maven plugins.
    When I create the new Fusion application , pom.xml is getting created in model project but not in viewcontroller project. Any reason for that?
    Please help me to point to the right article and example to build Adf application using Maven?

    User,
    While you can build an ADF app using Maven, it's nowhere near easy or automated in terms of getting started. There are a few people who are doing it, but they have invested a lot of effort including:
    * loading the ADF libraries into their corporate repositories
    * re-structuring their ADF projects to match the Maven directory standard (or customizing their POMs)
    * Hand-building POMs for their ADF apps
    Most or all of the people that I know who are doing this are doing all of these things without the benefit of the Maven integration provided in JDeveloper. If you have a search of this forum and the [url https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!forum/adf-methodology]ADF EMG, you can find plenty of discussions about this. There's no "step-by-step" guide that I know of, and it will definitely take you quite a bit of effort to get started. The Maven integration in JDeveloper is still in developer preview mode, and in my opinion, isn't ready for prime time - at least not with respect to ADF projects.

  • Build a .jar from an applet

    Hi. I have the following code.
    import controller.Application;
    import model.Slideshow;
    import view.MainFrame;
    import java.applet.Applet;
    public class Main extends Applet {
        public void init() {
            Slideshow slideshow = new Slideshow("untitled.xml");
            Application app = new Application(slideshow);
            new MainFrame(app);
    }I can create the .jar file but when I open it a message of "couldn't finde main class" appears... obviously... it's an applet ! how can I create an excecutable file? thanks very much

    how can I make an executable file with this class????
    This question is quite different from your original question. Is it your intent to convert the application into an applet or are you interested in creating an [executable JAR file|http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/guides/jar/jarGuide.html]? If it's the latter, when bundling your application in a JAR file you'll need to update the [JAR file manifest|http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/guides/jar/jar.html] with a Main-Class entry. If it's the former, the following link will be helpful:

  • Problem building simple jar from JDev

    Hi,
    I have an application using bc4j/jclient running under JDev 9.0.2.
    Now I want to deploy the whole application into one jar file, including all the used libraries (for bc4j, log4j, ...).
    This works fine using the "simple jar wizard". I get one big jar file with everything I need.
    The problem occurs when starting the application with something like "java -jar archive1.jar". The application runs fine until the moment, where an ini-file should be read. I get a FileNotFoundException for that ini file. The ini file itself is contained in the jar file, exactly in the directory where I would have supposed it to be (../app/config/app.ini).
    From within JDeveloper everything works fine.
    Could someone tell me, what I miss? Seems like there is used another "virtual root dir" or do I have to alter the manifest file?
    Thanks in advance,
    Torsten.

    I found the solution for the problem.
    If you put an application into a jar file, you can't read images, ini-files, etc. with a kind of File.open(). The files are then searched at runtime in the dir where the jar exists (or in a classpath). You have to use something like "MyClass.class.getResource()" to get the right URL to a resource you want to load.
    This is a pure java standard issue, nothing to do with BC4J/JClient or JDeveloper.
    Thanks,
    Torsten.

  • Building java project from CVS

    Hi, I am new to ANT and java builds. This is what I want to do. I have two projects, Proj1 and Proj2. Proj1 is on HEAD branch in CVS and Proj2 is on TREE branch on CVS. I want to be able to build TREE branch but it should pull PROJ1 from HEAD branch.
    Any idea if CVS or ANT gives an option to build a jar from TREE branch and if a project is not found on TREE branch, it will go looking for it on HEAD branch?
    Thank you.

    Thanks, Georgemc. Let me clarify it.
    I have PROJ1 and PROJ2 on HEAD branch which are production version.
    PROJ1 is architecture code which I always want to get from HEAD branch.
    I have a release project which I am working on and have created a branch named TREE for PROJ2. Now when I do a build with a tag TREE, PROJ1 doesn't exist on TREE branch and it fails saying project not found for PROJ1. What I want to find out if there is an option that I can put in ANT script or CVS so that it will go to HEAD branch automatically in case a project is not found in TREE branch.
    I know it can be hard-coded but I wanted to find out if CVS or ANT gives that option.

  • Building debuggable JDK jars from JDK sources

    Hello,
    I want to build the JDK jars (rt.jar, tools.jar, etc.) that contain classes with debug information, from the JDK sources. I found a web page where it detailed several steps, but they were too many and too general for me. My platform is : Linux 2.6.9-78.0.0.0.1.ELsmp #1 SMP i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux. Can someone tell me some straightforward steps to build these jars. When I run 'gmake sanity' in control/make directory, I get errors like :

    Please check your access to
    /java/re/j2se/1.5.0/archive/fcs/bundles/linux-i586/jdk-1_5_0-linux-i586.tar.gz
    and/or check your value of ALT_PREVIOUS_RELEASE_PATH or ALT_PREVIOUS_JRE_FILE
    This will affect you if you build the images target.

    I simply want to know which env variables exactly should I set and to what values. Specific information regarding these will be much appreciated. Thanks.

    I don't understand what you mean by 'run the JVM in debug mode'. I don't want to debug the JVM, but want to debug the JDK classes. And for that, the classes need to have been compiled with debug info.
    In any case, what I want is : build JDK jars with debug info, given that the sources are available. I'm sure this kind of thing was already tried out by at least some, if not many. So, I'm seeking some guidelines from them.

  • Not able to build osb jar using osb 10.3

    Hi All,
    I am working on developing an osb jar from workspace(osb 10.3) using ant scripts.When i am trying to invoke an ant with target "export" it show an error "Java returned :13".I went through the entire post sent by respected people over the forum but i am not able to solve it.
    Script which i am using :
    <project name="ConfigExport">
    <property file="./build.properties"/>
    <property name="eclipse.home"
    value="${bea.home}/tools/eclipse_pkgs/2.0/eclipse_3.3.2/eclipse"/>
    <property name="weblogic.home" value= "${bea.home}/wlserver_10.3"/>
    <property name="metadata.dir" value="${workspace.dir}/.metadata"/>
    <target name="export">
    <available file="${metadata.dir}" type="dir"
    property="metadata.dir.exists"/>
    <java dir="${eclipse.home}"
    jar="${eclipse.home}/plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher_1.0.1.R33x_v20080118.jar"
    fork="true"
    failonerror="true"
    maxmemory="768m">
    <arg line="-data ${workspace.dir}"/>
    <arg line="-application com.bea.alsb.core.ConfigExport"/>
    <arg line="-configProject ${config.project}"/>
    <arg line="-configJar ${config.jar}"/>
    <sysproperty key="weblogic.home" value="${weblogic.home}"/>
    </java>
              <antcall target="deleteMetadata"/>
    </target>
         <target name="deleteMetadata" unless="metadata.dir.exists">
    <delete failonerror="false" includeemptydirs="true"
    dir="${metadata.dir}"/>
         </target>
    </project>
    It seems that on debugging the error in eclipse log say for ex: C:\bea\tools\eclipse_pkgs\2.0\eclipse_3.3.2\eclipse\configuration\
    show me an error saying : "java.lang.RuntimeException: Application "com.bea.alsb.core.ConfigExport" could not be found in the registry."
    It seems that com.bea.alsb.core.ConfigExport not able to find the class which is used to export an osb jar.Moreover in the thread posted basically talks about osb 11 so i am not able to find many folders like middleware,oracle,osb.home.
    Please let me know what is the possible solutions for this in osb 10.3.

    see here Export from OEPE not working for an answer, that I copy/paste here:
    You have to verify if your OEPE instalation has the following file in the directory dropins (e.g C:\Oracle\middleware\oepe11.1.1.3\dropins)
    filename:
    oracle.osb.ide.link
    content:
    path=C:/Oracle/Middleware/Oracle_OSB1
    Under the Oracle_OSB1 you have an eclipse directory with needed plugins:
    e.g. C:/Oracle/Middleware/Oracle_OSB1/eclipse is not empty
    This is only a sample directory naming from Windows installation, I had a problem on RHEL 5.3 where installer did not put such files.
    Then I took the files from Windows installation.
    I suspect the files are installed "automatically" but I am not sure when.

    I was previously able to generate a types jar just fine from the web service's WSDL. Recently, I made some changes to the web service. Apparently, these changes to the web service now cause the WSDL to be unparseable when trying to generate types jars.
    Any ideas?

    The WSDL is generated from my web service. I made heavy revisions to my web service which, in turn, affected the resultant WSDL. The changes I made to my web service were almost exclusively related to object substitution. For example, prior to the change I was referencing object A from my web service; after the change, I was referencing object B. The objects that I'm referring to are XMLBeans, if that matters. I can't really describe it more than that without actually showing you the WSDL.
    I would post the WSDL file here to allow you to try to create a types jar out of it, but the WSDL exceeds the 30000 character limit for this field. There is no way for me to attach the WSDL to this post.

  • Building a jar in an ant build.xml file

    Hi,
    i previously used netbeans to create a jar that you could doubleclick to have it automatically started (win 2000).
    The jar also included other jars like log4j, jdom and so.
    In Netbeans, i first made my project and those jars available via the filesystem. Then i just made a new jar, added my project and the startpoints of the other jars. For instance for the jdom.jar, i selected the org and everything beneath.
    Then i generated a standard manifest file and added this line:
    Main-Class: <package>/<mainclass>
    This worked ok fine.
    Now, for my question: i'm trying out ant and want to achieve the same as above. Building my project is not a problem. I specified the dependies on other jars like this:
      <target name="compile" depends="init" description="compile">
        <!-- Compile the java code from ${src} into ${build} -->
        <javac srcdir="${src}" destdir="${build}">
          <classpath>
            <pathelement location="lib/jdom.jar"/>
            <pathelement location="lib/log4j-1.2.7.jar"/>
          </classpath>
        </javac>
      </target>Compiling doesn't produce an error.
    However i can't seem to figure out how to build a jar where the root of each jar is included in the content of my own jar so i don't have to distribute the jars seperately.
    This is what i had so far for my jar:
      <target name="dist" depends="compile" description="generate" >
        <!-- Create the distribution directory -->
        <mkdir dir="${dist}/lib"/>
        <!-- Put everything in ${build} into customer-${DSTAMP}.jar file -->
        <jar jarfile="${dist}/lib/customer-${DSTAMP}.jar"
             basedir="${build}" manifest="${conf}/manifest.mf"/>
      </target>My manifest file:
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Main-Class: customer/clientAny idea of how to add the content of another jar to my own jar?
    Thanks

    Benalua,
    (sorry, I don't know how to type the "u" with the diacritic mark above it in your name)
    Did you deploy the ADF 10.1.3.3 libraries to the 10.1.3.1 app server? An alternative might be to apply the 10.1.3.3 patch to the 10.1.3.3 app server.
