Build program from existing Driver VIs

I have an Agilent device (OSA) that I am trying to interface with my PC. I've installed all the necessary drivers (488.2 2.5) and MAX recognizes my device.
Agilent provided me with a series of files (MNU files and a LLB [vi library]) that supposedly allow me to build my communication interface. However, since I have little experience with LabView, I am not sure where to begin. I suppose that these VIs get somehow incoorporated into my large custom LabView program and hence depend on each other to function. Also, I've been told that two of the VIs (Init and Close) have to go at the beginning and end of my program.
Can someone provide any suggestions or guidance? Perhaps a tutorial that shows how multiple VIs are used to build a large program.

I placed the drivers into the directory that you specified. However, when I go to Tools/Instrumentation/Find Instru Drivers I receive an error which closes that window. Please see the image for the error window.

Edit: And yes, my connection is on. However, I fail to see why it even matters.
Edit 2: However, I see that before the window closes, my device does show up on the top left. This, I assume, means that everything is okay. Correct?

How do I get my email in Apple's Mail program from old drive to new drive?

I can not determine from Apple's support info how to export my email in Apple's Mail program from the old drive to the new drive.
The old 60 GB drive was at 55GB and had 3 volume structure problems. It would not backup all files using SuperDuper!, but I could backup the user files onto an external 250GB Tintanium Fantom Drive. So I installed a new 120 GB in the iMac and took the old 60GB drive and put it in an external firewire drive housing, which mounts, runs and will even act as the startup drive. I installed 10.3.9 on the new 120GB drive. I was able to export the address book over to the new drive with no problems, but I don't know how to export the email.
There does not appear to be an export function in Apple's Mail program (This sounds kind of ???).
I have a lot of email (#???) in a lot folders and subfolders (60) in addition to the inboxes, plus all the sent mail (2,000)

The Mail.app preference file (which stores all account information and general Mail.app preferences) is located at Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.mail.plist.
All Mail.app mailboxes and other data is stored in the Mail folder at Home > Library > Mail.
With the Mail.app quit on the new hard drive, place a copy of the Mail folder from the old hard drive at Home > Library on the new drive. If there is an existing Mail folder at Home > Library, this will replace it.
Place a copy of the com.apple.mail.plist file from the old hard drive at Home > Library > Preferences on the new hard drive. If there is an existing com.apple.mail.plist file at Home > Library > Preferences on the new hard drive (and there should be one if you have launched the Mail.app on the new hard drive), this will replace it.
Launch Mail on the new hard drive and the Mail.app should be completely restored or identical to the Mail.app on the old hard drive.

Error when building programs from AUR

I had a problem installing screen-git from the AUR. I kept getting this error message, ./autogen.sh: /bin/sh^M: bad interpreter: No such file or directory, when trying to build this package.
At first I thought it might just be a problem with the screen-git pkgbuild, but I tried to install something else from AUR and got the same message. I usually install things with Yaourt, so I thought it may be a problem with that. I tried to manually install something from the AUR and got the same error. It seems to be affecting anything that needs to be built from source, so I'm wondering if it is a problem with my makepkg.conf.
I couldn't seem to find anything posted in the forums. Any help will be appreciated.

I fixed the problem. It was only affecting packages from a git repository. I checked and for some reason only on one of my computers, git was setup to add dos newline characters.
With a simple change to my .gitconfig file, changing autocrlf = false, fixed the problem. Thanks for everyone's help.

How to move Creative Suite programs from hard drive to new SSD

I just bought a SSD and I want all of my adobe programs to be on that (Creative Suite Designs & Web Programming CS6).
I have the serial number but I do not have any installation files? What do I do?

Modifying existing driver (newbie question?)

we are trying to modify an existing driver, but we are fairly new to Labview. We have some generic questions, but I will give some specific info about what we are trying to do as well.
We downloaded a driver (for the NDI Polaris motion tracker) from the NI site and want to modify this a little bit.
The zip file contains an ndipolaris subdirectory with 2 .llb files and some .mnu files.
Our first problem is that if we just open the .llb files, there are a lot of vi's in there (including working examples), but there are no project files, nor class definitions. This seems to prevent us from creating a new class that derives from a class which is apparently defined in the driver (but for which we don't seem to have the definition). Maybe a driver can be distributed without these definitions such that you can only use it, but not modify it?
Our second problem is that if we use the "create new driver from existing driver" method, the NDI Polaris does not show up in the list of existing drivers. (We did copy the ndipolaris directory to the labview/instr.lib directory and restarted labview). (This is probably not a major problem as we could just modify the existing driver instead).
Note that the existing driver is working nicely. We just want to add a time-stamp in the data. The existing driver has apparently a class (called "Tool info", whcih is a cluster of a few different types of data) for all the info that the Polaris returns, so we thought to modify that class or to derive a new class from it with the time-stamp added.
Sorry if this is a trivial question. Thanks for any pointers.

thanks to your suggestions, we've sorted
this out. We were confused by the fact that you cannot add controls
when in "block diagram" view. Here is what we did:
The
data cluster was constructed using the "bundle by name" function,
which takes a "template" cluster as input. It was this template that we
needed to modify. However, as the template was a "constant", it didn't
show up on the front panel, and so we couldn't add any controls to it.
So, when viewing the block diagram, we right-clicked the
template-cluster, converted it to a control, then switched to the front
panel, created a new (string) control on the front panel, and placed
that into the control corresponding to the template-cluster. Then we
switched back to the block diagram, and converted our template cluster
back to a "constant".
Not straightforward I think, but once you know (i.e. get help from you and read a bit of the manual...), it's ok.

Unless you can find an open source ODBC driver for SQL Server that runs on Solaris (and I wouldn't be overly hopeful there) Heterogeneous Services would require that you license something-- a third party ODBC driver, a new Oracle instance, or an Oracle Transparent Gateway.
As I stated below, you could certainly use SQL Server's ETL tool, DTS. Oracle's ETL tools would require additional licensing since you're just on 9.2. You could also write a small application (Java or otherwise) that connected to both databases and transferred the data. If you're particularly enterprising, you could load the SQL Server Type 4 JDBC driver into Oracle's JVM and write a Java stored procedure that connected to the SQL Server database via JDBC, but that's a pretty convoluted approach.

Recovery of old programs from old hard drive and old operating system

Have new computer with Windows 8, installed my old hard drive from old computer running Vista, want to get access to my Adobe programs from that old hard drive and system. Can you help?

Not unless the installers are on that harddrive.
What version of Adobe software did you have installed on the old machine? Please keep in mind that anything older than CS6 could be a crapshoot on Windows 8.

Trying to install an Adobe program from CC (CC is on a network drive)

So I will try to explain this the best that I can. Under our Adobe license we have enough to cover all of the computers in our facilities. When we re-image computers it installs the basic Adobe programs that we need but some of the staff need other ones that we have access to but we install them on an as needed basis.
And this is where the problem arises. Most of the time we install programs from the remote desktop rather than going from office to office for convenience but whether we are in the office or over remote desktop we have been noticing that the programs will not install. We have the Creative Cloud install files on a network drive that we use for all of our other installs of Adobe programs but it seems that the ones in Creative Cloud just won't install.
To be more specific today we were trying to install InCopy and the installer would start, then it would prompt that it is going to need an update that would restart the system which we continued with, but then the progress bar would fill all the way and then the dialog box would disappear and nothing else would happen or the progress bar would go back down and then the dialogue box would go away. I do not usually install Adobe products but a coworker of mine that has been working with this problem says that it is all across the board when it comes to install anything in the Creative Cloud folder.
They say that it might have to do something with an update needed for Adobe that it just isn't installing or one within the Windows system; although I don't think that is the case since we are trying to install on different Windows OS machines (Windows 7 32/64 bit, Windows 8 64 bit, Windows 8.1 64 bit).
So I was wondering if anyone could shed any light on the subject or if anyone had any fixes.

You would need to user Adobe creative cloud packager which creates an installation package and deploy to users machines. i assume, you are installing Adobe creative cloud desktop app from a network drive which is not recommended.

Well I was able to obtain a work around download of Flash and it installed fine but Firefox tells me it needs updating so I go out, thinking I'm "IN" finally to update it and I get that issue of not being able to get the update for it. It's a regular laptop, not a touch screen or one of those new fangled ones for todays world. In fact it's a refurb so it's probably origin date was a year or so ago before all this MS stuff took off fully. So not understanding why I'm feeling like I'm being BLOCKED from getting the updated Flash I need and desire. If I click on the little "X" and tell it to ignore the warning the vid will play just fine but don't want to have to do that every time. Must be a better way.
Again, I'm sorry for posting in the wrong forum, getting this posted in the Flash forum was my desire but the way Adobe has this set up I just couldn't figure it out. I belong to ALLOT of forums and most are pretty straight forward but this one is confusing!

New driver install + programs from the

HiMight sound dumb but.... Im about to do a new fresh install of my X-Fi Xtreme Music and i want all the extra goodies that comes along with the CD, the consoles and such, but i want the newest drivers installed also. How to go about this?Should I install the programs AND the old drivers from the CD first, then un-install just the drivers and after that install the newest drivers?Or should i install the new drivers first and then install the programs from the CD ( and if its possible uncheck driver install there), would this work and is there that kind of option in the install process this way?I would love a quick response

Transferring programs from computer to external drive

I have the adobe creative suite on my 2009 macbook pro. I am needing to make space on my computer and dont use all the programs frequently. Can i move or copy and paste those programs i dont use as often to an external drive? Can i run those programs from an external drive? Will it mess anything up?

Adobe programs need to be installed. It is possible to install the bulk of the programs to other than the main drive of the system though there is always a need to have some of the installation done on the main drive.

I don't think you need to make any changes in the Driver Program,just check in your Script
1. are you triggering a NEW-PAGE any where ,where its not needed,
2. check in the Standard Attributes of the page have you configured any other page there in NNEXT PAGE.

Building DLLs from VIs with array as output

Is there any special way to build DLLs from VIs having arrays as outputs. Suppose I have a VI "Random" with input "nrand" and output an array "the_random2". When I build DLL from the VI, I have something like this in my header file
void __stdcall Random(long nrand, double the_random2[]);
Now it returns void. So I have to pass the array as pointer and retrieve it. If I use Mathscript to load the DLL and call this function, how do I pass the pointer to the array "the_random2"? Simply speaking, any useful method to build DLLs with array outputs and the right way to call them from Mathscript would be appreciated.

Hi,
Building DLLs in LabVIEW is described in this tutorial.
Mathscript can call shared libraries such as DLLs, however make sure
that they are compliant with the supported data types as stated here in
this help page. All supported functions for calling/loading shared libraries is described here.
Note that these functions are not supported with the base package. The
details of the sytax of each function is described in their specific
help page.
