Build WebService from WSDL using ADF as ORM

Is it possible to build a Web Service having the WSDL file that uses ADF as an ORM in back end.
Is there any way in Jdeveloper to specify those combined technologies when creating the artifacts.

Not quite true. ADF BC is a ORM Framework.

    Arushi,
    I would refer to the online tutorial for JWSDP, which walks you through creating a web service and a Client to the service.

  • Webservice from WSDL - Endpoint URL unchanged

    Hi all,
    I'm following the JDeveloper tutorial here....
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/11/cuecards111/j2ee_set_17/ccset17_ALL.html
    ...in this the endpoint URL is left as http://www.example.com - this gets transformed into....
    http://localhost:7101/ServiceFromWsdl-Project1-context-root/RatingServicePort
    ...I believe at the point the webservice is generated from the WSDL.
    I have a couple of questions....
    1. Where does it get the localhost & 7101 from - at the point of generating the webservice how does it know where I want to deploy it ?
    2. When I generate my webservice from WSDL my URL is left unchanged - it deploys ok to my SOAServer (not the JDeveloper integrated one) but not with the endpoint I used in the WSDL - how do I find this endpoint ?
    Thanks
    MarkF

    OK, I managed to find the endpoint by hacking a few bits of information together....I assumed the port number because I knew the HTTP port number for my SOAServer, the context root is displayed in the deployment log, I then tagged on the Port Name from my WSDL .... et voila !
    Still begs the questions....
    1. Is it supposed to overwrite the URL in my original WSDL ?
    2. Is there no easier way of finding out the endpoint for a deployed WS ?
    Thanks

  • JAXWS Webservice from WSDL - Compilation errors in schemas

    Hello,
    I am creating a webservice (Java EE1.5 JAX-WS ) from wsdl .
    When I build the artifacts in JDeveloper, I get few compilation errors related to schemas.
    Error(5412,31): com.service.gsrl.FingEvntType.FINGEVNTENTR.ROLEPLYR is already defined in com.service.gsrl.FingEvntType.FINGEVNTENTR
    •     GSRL_Vers7_Rls21.xsd and DALGSRLService.wsdl both define a ROLE_PLYR and FINGEVNTENTR element.
    There could be a conflict when mapping this to Java class names.
    Not sure if there is a way around in JAX-WS and if this is a bug.
    Any one faced this ort of issue? How to resolve this??
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks,
    Ram

    There are few problems with your WSDL
    1. targetNamespace in schema section is missing trailing '/', it should be 'http://10.25.98.19:8080/dart/'
    2. in portType section 'fault' element is missing 'wsdl:' prefix, it should be '<wsdl:fault>'
    3. in binding section type is wrong, it should be 'tns:DartServicesImpl'
    4. Also fault element is wrongly defined in binding section it should be
    <wsdl:fault name="DARTException">
    <soap:fault name="DARTException" use="literal"/>
    </wsdl:fault>
    Hope this helps.

  • Webservice from WSDL

    Hi,
    I have a WSDL from which I would like to generate a web service , based on EJBs.
    I am aware of the way Java classes and EJBs are exposed as web services but would like to know if it is other way possible. i.e. I have the WSDL with me and would like to create a web service project from it using NWDS and deploy on WebAS J2EE engine.

  • Upload a table data(using a transient VO) from excel using ADF DI

    Hi
    I have a scenario where I need to get data from excel into a custom method in model layer.
    Requirement:
    Transient VO(associated to AM, shown in datacontrols) included in the jspx as a table
    I used the same table/tree binding to use it as a table in the excel sheet. I have a custom method in AM(that is exposed) that is invoked on click of a button.
    Problem is that the data is not coming up to that method.
    Here is the code I used in the custom method
    RowSet rowSetVO = (RowSet)findViewObject("ReadOnlyVO");
    Row[] allRowsInRange = rowSetVO.getAllRowsInRange();
    for(int i=0; i<allRowsInRange.length;i++) {
    ReadOnlyVO1RowImpl indRow = (ReadOnlyVO1RowImpl)allRowsInRange;
    System.out.println("Name :: "+indRow.getName());
    The same code is running fine and the data getting uploaded/shown in the method when the corresponding jspx is used. But when excel is used, nothing is coming up.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Ravi

    Let's assume that your VO has some existing rows and that the user clicked a button that included Table.Download.
    Now, the user modifies various rows in the ADF(di) Table component in Excel.
    The next step is for the user to click a ribbon command that includes Table.Upload.
    This ADFdi action will upload the altered rows to the VO and invoke the configured commit action.

  • Building webservices from multiple ejbs in a single ejbjar file

    Hi,
    I have multiple ejbs packaged in a single ejbjar file. How to generate webservices for each ejb from this ejbjar file.
    I will really appriciate if anybody can give some guidance on this.
    Regards
    Rao Peddi
    email: [email protected]

    Assuming you are using servicegen ant task, you can firstly start by using a separate <service> element for each web service you are generating. And within each <service> element you would then specify ejbJar attribute to point at your single ejbjar alongwith includeEJBs attribute which points to the specific EJB in this ejbjar file (note you would specify the <ejb-name> value of the specific ejb present in ejb-jar.xml inside your ejbjar file).
    Note that the individual services would be referred to by their specific serviceUri.
    The following is a simple example using ejbJar inside a single <service> element.
    <servicegen destEar="ears/myWebService.ear" warName="myWAR.war" contextURI="web_services" > <service ejbJar="jars/myEJB.jar" targetNamespace="http://www.bea.com/examples/Trader" serviceName="TraderService" serviceURI="/TraderService" generateTypes="True" expandMethods="True" > </service> </servicegen>

  • Download file from URL using ADF (urgent help required)

    We have the following requirement:

              System.out.println("File not found Exception");
         } catch (Exception e) {
              System.out.println("IO Exception");
    The URL given in the code is for a file which can be a PDF file or an EXCEL file.
    My requirement is when i click the button:
    1. A pop should come (as in Mozilla or IE) which asks if I want to save the file or open.

  • Webservice from WSDL with imported XSD

    Hi all,
    Firstly, as a newbie to Jdeveloper forgive the ignorance....
    I'm trying to create and deploy a webservice (created top-down).
    I have an XSD, and a WSDL which imports this via a relative reference of the kind ../../ etc. - this validates OK in JDeveloper
    When I try to deploy this to WL I get a file not found error for this XSD, it can't find the XSD in the packaged archive to be deployed.
    So my question, for the import statement in my WSDL which is currently....
    <xsd:import namespace="http://xml.netbeans.org/schema/LoanApplication" schemaLocation="../../../LoanApprover.xsd"/> (i.e. XSD directory relative to WSDL directory at design time)
    ...what do I need to change it to so that when packaged it can find the XSD ?
    Thanks in advance
    MarkF

  • How to access Parent page UIComponent from inlineFrame using ADF javascript

    Hi,
    My application includes an <af:inlineFrame component on the top portion of the page. It contains a table with delete option for the end user. Requirement is after user has deleted all the records of the table and table has no records to display, inlineFrame needs to be made invisible so that the bottom portion content of my page will get stretched fully and has more visibility to the user. Hence when user click on Delete button of the table, after delete operation, I am planning to check the row count and write javascript to client using ExtendedRenderKitService to make the inlineframe invisible.
    Question:
    1. What is the right ADF javascript API to access the parent page and work with its components. I came to know we can call using 'parent.document.getElementById' but I want to know correct ADF's javascript API.
    Thanks in Advance
    Raghu

    The way you suggested didn't help me.
    Yes.. This inlineFrame content is also a part of the same application only. The reason why it is kept in inlineFrame is it is an ADS implemented table. ADS is able to push the data to the table provided we should keep the application idle. If I keep on working with the application (i.e. request/response happens because user works with the bottom portion content of the page), ADS is not able to push the data to UI. Keeping the ADS implemented table in a top portion still but inside an inlineFrame has solved this problem.
    Given below my page design
       main.jspx
       ======
       <af:form id="f1"....
           <af:inlineframe source="faces/page/employee.jspx" />
       </form>
       employee.jspx
       =========
       <af:form id="f2"
        </form>
                 In the employee.jspx only I have delete button and javascript which is suppose to find the parent page (i.e. main.jspx) and to work with inlineframe component to make it visible/invisible based on whether table gets records or no records. (This javascript call will happen with the help of ClientListener set for the ADS implemented table with event type as propertyChange) Intention is to check the row count of the table during every javascript call and to go to parent page, find the inlineframe, make it visible or invisible.

  • Tutorial for Building Mobile Web Applications Using ADF/BC4J-problem

    This is the tutorial for:
    Develop a offline, Web-based Disconnected Mobile application
    Trying to create an offline mobile application using jdeveloper & oracle lite. I want to be able to update the home database after using the application in a disconnected fashion. I do not have a web site, nor is that a feasible option.
    Jdeveloper 10.1.3.4 which should be OK as it is higher than the release specified in the tutorial.
    webtogo
    oraclie lite 10
    oracle 10.
    I have tried to follow the tutorial completely and I can not get this to connect from webtogo. It runs fine in the jdeveloper usising the container. I created the war file, did the wtg packaging process, opened the mobile manager and published the application & granted access to user 'john'. The samples provided work fine. The new application appears on the webscreen after installing web 0c4j. When I click on it, the address toolbar shows:
    http://localhost/webtogo/bc4jtutorial/faces/CustomerOrders.jsp
    When it installed mobile client, it installed the CustomerOrders.jsp into:
    E:\mobileclient\mobile_client_oc4j\j2ee\mobileclient\applications\mobileclient\bc4jtutorial
    an example of the samples that work shows
    http://localhost/webtogo/sample6/list
    in the browser address line.
    Which looks like it's really
    E:\mobileclient\mobile_client_oc4j\j2ee\mobileclient\applications\mobileclient\samples\sample6
    on the file system
    Any one have any ideas? I'll take another solution if someone has found one. However, i am not a great java programmer so thought jdeveloper was great to create forms and access the database.
