Building metadata based UI using RichRegion
Hi,
I am building a metadata based UI, basically a Form Layout which will show different types of variables. The renderer of the variable value needs to be configurable.
This UI will be used as a framework to show/interview different kind of variables(like String, List, Map and more complex ones.)
The way I am trying to design it is to keep the renderer of each variable a region which the framework users can override(they can build their own renderers).
Effectively, I have to build a RichPanelFormLayout with multiple RichPanelLabelAndMessage children in it. If I take the approach of a renderer being a region, then I need to add RichRegion as a child of RichPanelLabelAndMessage.
Code snippet:
RichPanelFormLayout variablesForm = new RichPanelFormLayout();
for (String varName : zone.getVariableNames()) {
RichPanelLabelAndMessage varLayout = new RichPanelLabelAndMessage();
varLayout.setLabel(varName);
varLayout.setShortDesc("variable desc");
RichInputText it = new RichInputText();
it.setValue(configData.getVariableValue(varName));
varLayout.getChildren().add(it);
variablesForm.getChildren().add(varLayout);
Here instead of adding RichInputText, I want to add RichRegion which would encapsulate a dynamic region which in turn can contain the inputText for simple String variable OR other complex variables.
Can I achieve this?
This looks like the case of adding dynamic regions to my bean. The decision about the region is based on the variable type.
I did not find any example to programmatically add regions to a page.
Would appreciate any ideas/opinions.
Thanks and Regards,
Gaurav

Exception while retrieving deleted document using metadata based query
Hi,
I am using dbxml 2.4.11 on Mac OS 10.5. My xml documents are stored in the dbxml with some metadata. Index on metadata is built. After delete a document I get an exception (error code is DATABASE_ERROR) while trying to use metadata based query:
com.sleepycat.dbxml.XmlException: Error: DB_NOTFOUND: No matching key/data pair found, errcode = DATABASE_ERROR
at com.sleepycat.dbxml.dbxml_javaJNI.XmlResults_hasNext(Native Method)

at gov.nasa.gsfc.md.xdba.server.ApplicationServiceImpl.findDocument(ApplicationServiceImpl.java:99)
the code used to query:
query = ... /DIF[dbxml:metadata('md:Id')='1234']
// Perform the query.
XmlResults results = getXmlManager().query(query, context);
while (results.hasNext()) {
XmlValue xmlValue = results.next();
DocumentDTO documentDTO = new DocumentDTO();
XmlDocument xmlDocument = xmlValue.asDocument();
XmlMetaDataIterator metadataIt = xmlDocument.getMetaDataIterator();
XmlMetaData md = metadataIt.next();
while (md != null) {
String name = md.get_name();
String value = md.get_value().asString();
NameValuePair nameValuePair = new NameValuePair(name,value);
documentDTO.addToMetadataList(nameValuePair);
md = metadataIt.next();
retVal.add(documentDTO);
counter = counter + 1;
results.delete();
context.delete();
As name and value of the metadata I use kind of Id. If I use the query with a never before existing Id, I get the expecting error code DOCUMENT_NOT_FOUND, which is ok.
Anybody has an idea why?
Thanks a lot,
Hoan.Hi George,
I use now version 2.4.16, built a new database, but I can't found any records using the code mentioned above. First I thought there would be problem on Mac, tried to install the whole database and app on linux, but the problem still persists. The query I am using is:
collection('////usr/server/gcmdx/xmldb/data/live.bdbxml')/DIF[dbxml:metadata('md:docType')='DIF' and dbxml:metadata('md:internalId')='456']
(Switching back to 2.4.11, I find the records inserted)
I can send a record if you want.
Thank you for your help,
Hoan. -

Auto-set Conditional Build Tags Based On Style?
Is there a way to auto-set conditional build tags based on style?
I want to be able to import a Word document into RoboHelp and have it recognize certain styles as requiring certain conditional tags. For example, an imported Word document might have a style called WD_Internal and any text with that style would automatically have a conditional build tag assigned to it. The idea is to allow my SMEs to indicate which text is intended for internal audiences and which text is OK for customer consumption in a single central Word document using styles. When the content is correct, I'd import it into RoboHelp, have RoboHelp assign conditional build tags, then generate multiple printed versions of the document (an internal version and a public consumption version).
Setting conditional build tags is pretty easy, but it will still be a lot of work to manually set them. Is there a way to do this automatically?
I am using RoboHelp HTML RH9.Hi,
There's no way to do this through the interface. You can however create a script to do this for you. Cycle through the content of the topics and insert the code for the CBT.

Edited by: 853559 on Oct 12, 2012 2:25 PMYou can re-visit access policy It will have the Process form where you can provide the access policy and save it. Access policy is already created so you can modify access policy and open the process form select IT Resource and save it.
Another way to write pre-pop adapter for populating IT Resource on the process form. But I am sure you can provide it resource via access policy.

What Metadata Standard is used for Face Regions?
Nice to see that LR6 now has support for Face Recognition and Face Regions. However, nowhere in the online help is it stated explicitly what metadata standards are used for the image regions.
I would hope that as Adobe is a member of the Metadata Working Group, then LR6 is using the metadata standard specified by the MWG for image regions.It's the MWG.
Within Lightroom itself, the face regions are recorded inside the catalogue and this data is associated with keywords.
When you export a photo, unchecking the option Remove Person Info, the names are also written to the IPTC Extension Person Shown and the MWG Regions too.
I suggest you export a photo as above and examine its metadata in the Advanced tab of Bridge's FIle Info dialog box, or in some other metadata tool. -
Can metadata be loaded using ODI into classisc applcn and upgraded to epma
Hi John,
As ODI is not compatible with EPMA, cane we load metadata into classic using ODI and then upgrade the applcns to EPMA?
Is this method suggestible? When are the adapters for Planning to connect epma will be released. any idea?Hi John,
Thanks for the information.
As per your blog you have loaded the entity dimension using the Hierarchy and members tables. Is the structure of these two tables same as interface tables?
And can i insert all the dimensions and their members with only these two tables or do i need to create two sets of tables for every dimension i have. -
Build a xml editor using swing
I would like to know a simple way to build a xml editor using swing. The editor should present the xml in a tree structure, THe user should be able to modify the xml in the editor and save it.
Try reading this from [The XML Tutorial|http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/docs/tutorial/doc/JAXPDOM4.html#wp64247] for discovering how to display the XML tree first, this is the first point to build a XMLNotepad like solution.

As a beginner, I need help figuring out how to build a simply VI that uses boolean logic to switch between three different screens. I need a "Home" screen, the next screen which has a button to go back "Home" and a third screen which has two buttons to go "Home" and "Previous Screen". Can someone help me with a simple block diagram?
Hi,
Or put the data in three tab controls. The tabs itself are hidden. The
program switches between the tab sheet if one of the buttons is pressed.
The buttons are best not copied, e.g. the same buttons are used in every tab
sheet (buttons hover above the tab, a black shadow will apear). If the first
sheet is shown, button 2 and 3 are hidden, sheet two: only button 3 is
hidden, sheet three no button is hidden.
Showing the tabs allows the user to choose the views directlly. The button
logic is not needed anymore. But you'll have to live with a simple tab
sheet, instead of a fancy button system!
Regards,
Wiebe.

Integrate Document Builder to SRM (wihtout using PPS or XI)
Hi all,
I am using SRM 7.0 and I want to use the Document builder with SRM without activation the PPS (Procurement for Public Sector) business scenario and without XI.
I looked at some documentation at the service market place
https://websmp204.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000676863&
and also found the Wiki entry:
http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/DocBuilder/DocumentBuilder3ContentConfiguration+Guide
But the first seem to imply the use of PPS, and the second one describes the configuration of a stand-alone mode, which means that Document Builder is not integrated to another component.
Can anyone give me any advice on how to integrate the document builder into SRM without using PPS or XI?
Thanks very much.
Regards
UlrikeHi,
Thank you, Roman, for creating the helpful instructions on integrating Document Builder with HCM using Web Services (Cross-application synchronized integration - SAP Document Builder - SCN Wiki).
Document Builder can be integrated to any SAP application in a similar fashion to how Roman describes in his link; however, in the case of SRM with Procurement for Public Sector (PPS) there is out-of-the-box configurable integration available that shortcuts this process. Licensed PPS customers can access the PPS integration aide by activating the PPS switch.
Best regards,

So basically my unittest project using mspec is not even built and copied to the outputfolder even though I build the sln file. This happens only if I put in a azure deployment environment in the build. It works with exactly the same parameters if I just
remove the azure deployment parameter in the same template. I really don't get why it's impossible to run unit tests and fail the build before deploying to staging. Is it supposed to be like this?Hi Espen,
I would like to know what you mean when you say "put in a Azure deployment environment in the build", and whether you have run a post script during the build process. Please give out more details about your scenario, or share you build log here. You can
check whether it's build fine locally by using MSBuild or build directly with Visual Studio.
Maybe you can check whether the Azure environment has the right version of mspec test adapter. Or use Nuget package restore feature to include the needed files in your solution before building. If the build related to hosted build controller, you can configure
an on-premise build controller for VSO. See this
thread for more information.

By Azure deployment variable I mean "Windows Azure Deployment Environment" variable which you can configure under the Process tab after rightclicking the build definition and clicked "Edit build definition" in Visual Studio.
I actually figured out what was wrong though. When "Windows Azure Deployment Environment" is set, the build target is set to <your_azure_project>:Publish. This target probably only builds the projects useful for that particular project, hence the unittest
project is not built. I fixed the issue by adding a msbuild argument under 2.Build->5.Advanced->MSBuild arguments. I had to set it to "/t <your_azure_project>:Publish;Build" and all worked well. Notice the order of the targets though. If I used
Build first, the whole build failed with some error trying to some virtual web folder. Also, <your_azure_project> is not entirely correct. At least for me it's named like My.Azure.Project, but the build target is My_Azure_Project.
I don't really know if it's supposed to be this way, but it looks to me like a small bug in the template at least.
