Building pidgin with meanwhile support from ABS failing

I've been building pidgin manually from ABS in order to incorporate meanwhile support for use on IBM Lotus Sametime. This entails editing pidgin's PKGBUILD and removing this line:
--disable-meanwhile \
Then I simply run `makepkg -si`. Recently (last week and after trying again today after a fresh pacman -Syu), I get this fail in the build:

Aborting...
If I build with --disable-meanwhile present, it succeeds. Something is occurring when I try to being in meanwhile support, which I believe entails libpurple integration.
Any suggestions on debugging further?

You need to fix the source files with something like
sed -i 's|glib/*.h|glib.h|' src/*
There have been several similar errrors with builds of other packages.  I don't know the details, but I gather glib has been revised  such that there is now a single unified glib.h that should be included in source files.
EDIT: you'll have to edit the target files in the sed command as there is a deeper tree structure than src/*, but I'll let you sort that out.  Once done, this sed command can be added to the PKGBUILD.

  • [SOLVED] xorg-server build from abs fails

    Hi,
    ever since I installed the update to gcc-5.1.0 the building of xorg-server from abs fails:

    This happens for xorg-server-1.17.1-6 and up as well as for xorg-server-1.17.2-1 .
    $ gcc --version
    gcc (GCC) 5.1.0
    Copyright (C) 2015 Free Software Foundation, Inc.
    This is free software; see the source for copying conditions. There is NO
    warranty; not even for MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
    I searched for a solution or a patch, but couldn't find anything.
    xorg-server-1.17.2 supposedly has build fixes with gcc-5.1, but obviously that didn't help much for me.
    Otherwise my arch installation is up-to-date.
    I'm building on x86-64 (Haswell) with
    CPPFLAGS="-D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2"
    CFLAGS="-march=native -mtune=native -O3 -pipe -fstack-protector-strong --param=ssp-buffer-size=4"
    CXXFLAGS="-march=native -mtune=native -O3 -pipe -fstack-protector-strong --param=ssp-buffer-size=4"
    LDFLAGS="-Wl,-O2,--sort-common,--as-needed,-z,relro"
    MAKEFLAGS="-j16"
    DEBUG_CFLAGS="-g -fvar-tracking-assignments"
    DEBUG_CXXFLAGS="-g -fvar-tracking-assignments"
    Has anyone else seen this or any idea how to fix it?
    Last edited by pgzh (2015-06-19 15:03:20)

    Using
    CFLAGS="-march=native -mtune=native -O2 -pipe -fstack-protector-strong --param=ssp-buffer-size=4"
    CXXFLAGS="-march=native -mtune=native -O2 -pipe -fstack-protector-strong --param=ssp-buffer-size=4"
    in makepkg.conf actually worked, I totally forgot about changing the optimization level.
    Since this is the first time for a very long time I've encountered a problem with -O3, do you think this should be reported as a bug for xorg-server?
    With gcc-4.9 building xorg-server with -O3 optimization level worked perfectly fine for me (I built 1.17.1 like that) and gcc-5.1 causes this culprit.
    Anyways, thank you very much for your help!

  • Building mesa with OpenCl support [Solved]

    Hi,
    I am trying to use OpenCl with the current mesa drivers as it is explained in this post from freedesktop: GalliumCompute, but when I try to install my own build of mesa with OpenCl it fails due to some conflicting files.
    If we follow the post, we can see that we need:
    - LLVM with '--enable-experimental-targets=R600', but the stable repo already provides this so we are fine.
    - Libclc can be found in AUR: libclc-svn
    - Mesa with '--enable-opencl'. This has to be built manually with ABS adding the flag to the PKGBUILD.
    But when I try to install the generated packages I get an error because there are conflicting files:
    error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
    mesa: /usr/include/CL/cl.h exists in filesystem
    mesa: /usr/include/CL/cl.hpp exists in filesystem
    mesa: /usr/include/CL/cl_ext.h exists in filesystem
    mesa: /usr/include/CL/cl_gl.h exists in filesystem
    mesa: /usr/include/CL/cl_gl_ext.h exists in filesystem
    mesa: /usr/include/CL/cl_platform.h exists in filesystem
    mesa: /usr/include/CL/opencl.h exists in filesystem
    mesa: /usr/lib/libOpenCL.so exists in filesystem
    mesa: /usr/lib/libOpenCL.so.1 exists in filesystem
    mesa: /usr/lib/libOpenCL.so.1.0.0 exists in filesystem
    Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.
    Checking with 'pacman -Qo' I have found that the headers come from 'opencl-headers' and the shared objects from 'libcl'.
    So, is there a way to install mesa with OpenCl support?
    Thanks in advance.

    Lordheavy's git packages are setup to make switching between mesa-git and mesa easy, so include provides/conflicts/replaces lines in the PKGBUILDs to ease substiution.
    No need to uninstall mesa.
    Mesa is a split package, and you should replace all parts of it.
    If you run pacman -S mesa-git , there should be errors because all parts need to have been build against the same source,
    but i don't know if pacman handles that correctly.
    To be on the safe side, you should tell pacman to install ati-dri-git instead as that will pull the other necessary mesa-git subpackages.
    about the files from opencl-headers & libcl :
    mesa-git incudes opencl-mesa-git which does provide those files, but libclc-git doesn't have opencl-mesa-git as dependency.
    I think the full command you should use is : pacman -S ati-dri-git opencl-mesa-git libclc-git .
    That should pull in all needed pacakges and not give any conflicts.
    Edit :
    The PKGBUILD for LH's mesa-git are in http://pkgbuild.com/~lcarlier/mesa-git/sources/ .
    I looked directly into the sources to verify what i posted above.

    I'm I missing some libs or sources from OpenSSL ?
    And/or need to point them out so that make/gcc can find them?
    I have copy haproxy from another machine where I did the build process on.
    But I would like to be able to build it on my SLES 11 SP3 installation.
    Thank you in advance.

    So you're trying to build HAProxy 1.5.5 from source?
    Do you have libopenssl and libopenssl-devel installed? What does "rpm
    -qa | grep ssl" report?
    You might have better luck installing HAProxy 1.5.5 already built for
    SLES11 SP3 via the openSUSE Build Service @
    https://build.opensuse.org/package/s...ackage=haproxy
    HTH.

    Hello Simon,
    Yes I'm trying to build it from source.
    Unfortunately I don't have them installed.
    Here is the output:
    sudo -i rpm -qa | grep -i ssl
    openssl-0.9.8j-0.62.1
    libopenssl0_9_8-0.9.8j-0.62.1
    libopenssl0_9_8-32bit-0.9.8j-0.62.1
    perl-IO-Socket-SSL-1.38-5.2.2
    perl-Net-SSLeay-1.35-2.14
    openssl-certs-1.97-0.3.1
    Thank you for your speedy reply.

  • [SOLVED] Error building conky 1.8.0 from ABS

    Hello,
    Since conky 1.8.1 has a bug with fonts, I'm trying to build conky 1.8.0. I got the PKGBUILD from the ABS and modified it to install 1.8.0. I also had to include a fix for curl, found here:
    http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=31589.
    However, during make I get the following error:
    make[2]: Er hoeft niets gedaan te worden voor 'install-exec-am'.

  • Building GDAL with geoRaster support in Linux

    Please forgive me if this has been posted before (I did search but did not find a match) or if considered off topic.
    In the past I have only used GDAL + Oracle instant client + GeoRaster on the Windows platform. I’m looking to run it on Linux but have spent hours trying to build it... and it seems to be a straightforward process. (note I am trying to build on Ubuntu but will also be doing the same on RedHat based system). Using GDAL 1.7.2 and Oracle instant client 11.2
    ** Downloaded:
    instantclient-basic-linux32-11.2.0.1.zip
    instantclient-sdk-linux32-11.2.0.1.zip
    instantclient-sqlplus-linux32-11.2.0.1.zip
    and unzipped these.
    ** Set the following environment variables:
    LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/home/matt/instantclient_11_2
    ORACLE_HOME=/home/matt/instantclient_11_2
    NLS_LANG=American_America.WE8ISO8859P1
    ** created symbolic links:
    ln -s libclntsh.so.11.1 libclntsh.so
    ln -s libocci.so.11.1 libocci.so
    ** run the ./configure script in GDAL directory from command line:
    matt@bandicoot:~/gdal-1.7.2$ ./configure with-oci=/home/matt/instantclient_11_2 with-oci-include=/home/matt/instantclient_11_2/sdk/include --with-oci-lib=/home/matt/instantclient_11_2
    Am I missing something?
    Cheers,
    MH

  • [SOLVED] vi/vim/gvim rebuild from ABS failed

    Hi, tried to rebuild vi from source (to get rid of ruby dependence of vim,gvim by modifing PKGBUILD) and got this message.
    having patch file:7.2.166
    having patch file:7.2.001-100.gz
    Number of patches does not match the patchlevel!
    Edit the PKGBUILD accordingly!
    If I change the PKGBUILD so that
    _patchlevel=167
    instead of
    _patchlevel=65
    It gives me the following message
    having patch file:7.2.166
    having patch file:7.2.001-100.gz
    patching file src/pty.c
    patching file src/version.c
    patch unexpectedly ends in middle of line
    patch: **** Only garbage was found in the patch input.
    How should I modify PKGBUILD to actually build it
    Last edited by ogronom (2009-05-11 13:21:07)

    patchlevel should only be 166, as there isn't a patch 167 yet.
    ftp://ftp.vim.org/pub/vim/patches/7.2/
    I think the problem might be that the 1-100 file is a collection of individual patches (inclusive from 1 to 100). The patch fetch/apply scriptlet might be trying to apply all those twice. It is a fairly simple shell script (not alot of logic).
    on line 21 of get_patches.sh
    for _line in $(/bin/cat MD5SUMS); do
    you could try changing that to
    for _line in $(/bin/cat MD5SUMS | grep -vF '-'); do
    that should work, in conjunction with changing the patchlevel to 166
    EDIT: You should also file a bug report about the get_patches script failing if there are patch bundles included in the md5sum file from the vim patch directory, as it appears to be trying to add the patch bundle as well as the individual patches.

  • Building gdal with OCI support- seems to work manually, not in makepkg

    I'm attempting to rebuild the gdal package under x86_64 with Oracle Spatial support at the latest version (1.9.2) (the version in community is at 1.9.0 right now and does not include Oracle support).
    gdal uses the standard autoconf/automake toolchain for its build process, and allows users to specify which external libraries they want to link in the configure script.  To enable Oracle Spatial support in gdal, one would pass the --with-oci option to configure.  This works fine for me and detects the contents of my oracle-instantclient-basic and oracle-instantclient-sdk packages (aur packages containing the necessary Oracle libs and headers) when I do it manually, i.e.:
    ./configure --prefix=/usr --with-netcdf --with-libtiff --with-sqlite3 \
    --with-geotiff --with-mysql --with-python --without-libtool --with-curl \
    --with-hdf5 --with-perl --with-geos --with-png \
    --with-oci
    However, when the exact same line runs inside of the build() function of a makepkg run, the configure script fails to detect the OCI libraries.  I know that the configure script is supposed to work by reading the ORACLE_HOME environment variable to find the necessary Oracle libraries and headers, and I've double-checked that this environment variable is being set properly inside of the makepkg run with a couple of echo statements before the configure line is run.
    Is there something else that I could be missing about the environment variables or build context inside of makepkg that could be causing this?  I've already looked through /etc/makepkg.conf and couldn't find anything that would seem to make a difference, but I'll readily admit that I don't have a ton of knowledge about the autotools library detection process other than the fact that I've built a few packages with the toolchain.
    Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated.  Here's the PKGBUILD I'm using if you want to try it for yourself (based off of gdal 1.9.0-1 in community): https://gist.github.com/3920468

  • Build view with data rows from one of two views.

    Hello. I've got problem with PL/SQL.
    I have built two PL/SQL views. Now I have to write a third
    view based on the data from "view_1" or "view_2". "view_2" contains all data rows
    but "view_1" contains special information. If the needed data rows (it's
    always a tupel of two rows) are available in "view_1" i have to use these data.
    Are they not available in "view_1" i have to get it from the second view.
    I've tried it with the DECODE function and a procedure I've written but I think it's
    the completly wrong way because I have to search for a tour_id and there are always
    two shipments for one tour.
    It looks something like:
    >
    SELECT
    DECODE(FNC_OPERATION_INSTRUCTION_EXISTS(T1.TOURNO),0,
    (SELECT SHIPPING_NO
    FROM VIEW_SHIPPINGADRESS
    WHERE TOUR_ID=TO_CHAR(T1.TOURNO)),
    (SELECT SHIPPING_NO
    FROM VIEW_SHIPPINGADRESS_OPERATION_INSTRUCTION
    WHERE TOUR_ID=TO_CHAR(T1.TOURNO)) "SHIPPING_NO"
    FROM
    TB_TOURS     T1
    WHERE
    But for sure I've got the error "ORA-01427: single-row subquery returns more than one row."
    because there are always two rows for one T1.TOURNO.
    I think that it's a standard problem but I also think that I'm on the wrong way.
    I will be very thankful for any hint.
    Thanx,
    Christoph

  • Release build error with ANE "AOT Compilation has failed while optimizing function"

    I'm trying to use the ChartBoost ANE which can be downloaded here https://github.com/freshplanet/ANE-Chartboost
    When I do an Ad-hoc release build It keeps crashing and giving me the error below when packaging for iOS. But if I do a debug build that's a "fast" or "standard" build it compiles fine, and I can even see the ads.
    Why would it crash when doing a release build? Does this ANE need an update?
    I'm using FB 4.7 and AIR 3.8. Specifically, Apache Flex 4.10 Air 3.8
    If I remove this 1 line of the Chartboost ANE code "AirChartboost.getInstance().showInterstitial();", the release build compiles fine and I can put it on the test iOS device.

    I just encountered this error when building ad-hoc package, say that:
    Error occurred while packaging the application:
    AOT Compilation has failed while optimizing function apackage::AClass.aFunction
    After several tries It turns out that the error was because the function aFunction has a return before some other code (for testing). I commented the code after the return then the packaging works fine.

  • Build compiz-core from ABS and disabling some plugins

    Hello,
    I would like to build Compiz 0.8.6 from ABS but without some plugins that I don't use. For some plugins, the configure switch
    --disable-{plugin}
    works, but for others it doesn't. I assume that I got the wrong name of the plugin, so I'm wondering if I can somewhere find a list off all plugins? For example, I want to disable the water and clone plugins, but
    --disable-water / --disable-clone
    doesn't work.
    Thanks in advance

    Ah, I found a little list here:
    http://wiki.compiz.org/Installation/Stable
    That list doesn't list the other plugins though, so I guess I can't disable them :\ Can anyone confirm?
    EDIT:Plugins that I can't disable for now:
    Gnome Compatibility
    Opacity, Brightness and Saturation (obs)
    Zoom Desktop
    Clone
    Blur
    Water
    Annotate (though this one is listed on the Compiz Wiki, it won't disable)
    Screenshot
    PNG
    SVG (though this one is listed on the Compiz Wiki, it won't disable)
    Inotify (though this one is listed on the Compiz Wiki, it won't disable)

  • [solved] Error compiling wpa_supplicant with broadcom_wl support

    Hello friends.
    I'm using the broadcom_wl driver for my bcm4312 card in my Dell XPS m1530 laptop. Unsecured wifi is tested and works fine.
    I need to use wpa_supplicant to connect to my university's wifi. The core package for wpa_supplicant is not compiled with broadcom support. I tried using the generic wext option, but I get
    Trying to associate with 00:11:92:90:de:e1 (SSID='restricted.utexas.edu' freq=2462 MHz)
    ioctl[SIOCSIWAP]: Device or resource busy
    Association request to the driver failed
    It looks like the generic wext option doesn't work for the bcm4312.
    So I tried to compile wpa_supplicant with broadcom support using ABS with this package: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=18511 from AUR. I enabled broadcom support in the config file and pointed it toward my local copy of wlioctl.h.

    I don't know c. Can someone decipher this error for me?
    Thanks in advance.
    EDIT: There are multiple versions of wlioctl.h floating around. I eventually got this to work with the version included with the wrt54g tarball. BUT, wpa_supplicant still had driver problems when being run with the -D broadcom option.
    I eventually got this working with ndiswrapper and instructions found here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiD … y_No-Fluff
    Pay special attention to the instruction:
    "This Chipset/PCI ID is the correct/reliable way to identify the device: Any other labels can be misleading (e.g., notice that both the '14e4:4311 (rev 02)' and '14e4:4319 (rev 02)' call themselves a "BCM4311 (Rev 02)", even though they are different devices)."
    Download the driver that matches the output of
    lspci -n | grep '14e4:43'
    Anyway, wpa_supplicant still gave me driver troubles when using the -D ndiswrapper option. However, it works well with -D wext.
    Tldr;
    -Your bcm4312 may actually be a BCM4310 (rev 01).
    -Use ndiswrapper with this driver: http://myspamb8.googlepages.com/R174291-pruned.zip
    -use wpa_supplicant with the -D wext option.

    Thanks falconindy, works great now.

  • Building application with microsoft agent

    Can someone clarify if there is anything different that needs to be done while building a stand-alone application that includes VIs that use the MS agent voice VIs (for example MSagentTTS.llb) along with CGI VIs? I have been able to build applications with only CGI VIs but failed while adding MS agent VI functionality. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    You'll need to install the Microsoft Agent parts on the target computer.
    They are:
    MSAgent.exe - the core components
    actcnc.exe - MS Speech Recognition Engine
    tv_enua.exe - MS Text To Speech engine
    Merlin.exe - or any of the available different voices
    Theses are available for downl

  • Using ABS to compile OpenOffice with KDE3 support?

    Hallo,
    So I'm trying to use ABS to compile OpenOffice with KDE3 support so I can use the KDE file picker (the KDE4 support is really, really broken and too new to be used right now). I pulled Openoffice-base out of my ABS tree and modified the PKBUILD so that kde was enabled and I made kdelibs3 part of the dependencies.
    However, it always says "checking whether KDE is between 3.2 and 3.6... configure: error: KDE version too old or too recent, please use another version of KDE or disable KDE address book support" before failing to compile. I know it's because I'm using KDE4. Is there a way I can trick it into thinking I'm using KDE3?
    It says the path to kdelibs is /usr/lib, perhaps if I changed it to the path to kdelibs3? Where would I do that in the PKBUILD?
    Thanks a lot!

    bstaletic wrote:The weird part, at least to me, is that I saw a lot more then 19 modules during compilation. Is this expected for some reason or have I messed something up?
    Your build method seems ok to me. Can't really say anything about the .config, but kernel modules can have dependencies too. For example, if you choose to build ext4 as a module, it selects at least jdb2 and crc16 modules to be built as well.

  • Export release build failed with an error message: complilation failed while excuting : compile-abc

    I updated air sdk from 4.0 to 16.0 beta to fix apple app store submitting bug. I can build the project and run it on simulator without any problem.  But when I tried to export the ios release build, I got this error message: complilation failed while excuting : compile-abc.
    I use commmand line to excute compile-abc.exe with the parameters that adt gives it, but it failed without any error message.
    Here is the command line:
    compile-abc.exe -mtriple=armv7-apple-ios -filetype=obj -sdk "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.5\sdks\4.5.1 - air16\lib\aot/lib/avmglue.abc" -fields "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.5\sdks\4.5.1 - air16\lib\aot/lib/air-fields.arm-air.txt" -O3 -abc-file-list=E:\MyApp\bin-debug\AOTBuildOutput8184169967790207636.tmp\ABCFilesList.txt
    There's a empty file AOTBuildOutput-0000001821_1821.o left in the command line workaroud path. I opened file AOTBuildOutput-0000001821.abc, but didn't get any clue. How can I trace this problem?
