Building XML from fragments

Here's my scenario:
I have multiple PL/SQL stored functions that return REF CURSORs. Each REF CURSOR contains information to build a portion of an XML document. I want to assemble these XML "fragments" into a DOM object, then apply a stylesheet to the entire object before saving it to a table.
All of this will be done in Java, and I need to make it efficient (in terms of speed and memory) since the XML document may grow to be very large. What is the best way to go about doing this?
Right now, I'm able to call getXMLDOM() which returns a complete XML document for each fragment, but what should I do with it now? Does anyone have any suggestions on what my next step should be?

SetDocType is available only in JDOM parser. I would like to know is it prossible without that.
Thanks !!

    It's the first time I use a custom-repo and I set it up only for this purpose. So yes, it's up to date and can be used outside the chroot. Also a different package I put from AUR into my custom-repo installs fine and doesn't give this error.
    How else could I test the custom-repo?

  • Building XML from relational data

    I need to create XML documents from relational data that conforms to an XML schema document. We need to store and query the XML documents we create.
    Therefore, we have decided to store the XML using the object model rather than as a CLOB
    i.e. register the schema with the XML DB which in turn creates the tables and object types that represent the schema.
    What is the best way build the XML document from the relational data ??
    Can I pass the relational data to the default constructors of the object types created by the schema registration ?? (and then create an XML document from the top level object instance using SYS_XMLGEN)
    Or should I build the xml from strings using XMLELEMENT,XMLFOREST built-in's when retrieving the data from the relational tables ?? OR use the XMLDOM package to build the document ??
    Would appreciate any advice on the best approach.

    There are basically two ways to join your document fragments with SQLX:
    1/. With xmlForest
    e.g. SELECT XMLELEMENT ( "Emp",XMLForest(e.employee_id, e.lname, e.salary)) AS "result"
    FROM employees e WHERE employee_id > 1500 ;
    result
    <Emp>
    < employee_id >1769</ employee_id >
    < lname >Smith</ lname >
    < salary >200000</ salary >
    </Emp>
    2/. With nested invocations of xmlElement
    e.g. SELECT XMLELEMENT("Emp", XMLELEMENT("name", e.fname ||' '|| e.lname),
    XMLELEMENT ( "hiredate", e.hire)) AS "result"
    FROM employees e WHERE employee_id > 200 ;
    result
    <Emp>
    <name>John Smith</name>
    <hiredate>2000-05-24</hiredate>
    </Emp>
    <Emp>
    <name>Mary Martin</name>

    2- How can we automatically generate a build file of the application from command-line (as opposed to using Jdev IDE to click to generate a build.xml) ?

    The first  warning is happening because you're stating drivers for input devices without need. You haven't disabled hotplug so evdev gets used instead of kbd. This is normal, and you should change the driver line from kbd to evdev so that whatever options (if any) you've specified for the keyboard get parsed.
    The second warning is about you not installing acpid.
    The third I have no idea about, but look at the synaptics wiki. None of the (WW) are related to your video card.
    And every card that has 2 or more output ports show up as "two cards". You also don't need to specify the pci port in xorg.conf. edit: this is the general case with laptops, might be different for desktops.
    When I do lspci -v I get:

  • Running Ant file - build.xml from JDev

    hi all
    I have created simple BPEL project. I'm using JDev 10.1.3.1.0
    & SOA suite 10.1.3.1.0 . If I deploy my BPEL process using deployment utility
    of JDev then it gets deployed well on localhost:8888 .
    But If I run build.xml Ant file from JDev then it complies properly but it tries to deploy on[b] localhost:9700. If I run same Ant file from Developer prompt then it again BPEL gets deployed properly on localhost:8888.
    It means JDev is overwriting some properties values.
    Does any one aware of this.?
    thanks
    /patel

    Hi Patel,
    Have a look here:

  • Can ant call a target from my build.xml from another xml file?

    can ant have a target something like this:
    <target mytarget>
    <antcall file="C:\app\build2.xml" targetname="blah">
    </target>
    Is it possible to call a target in my build.xml that will then look in a file called build2.xml and call a target in that xml file?
    Thanks,
    Tad

    I looked at the manual and the site and couldn't find anything, you don't have to tell me the exact xml if
    it bugs you, all I want to know is if it is possible and if it is what task should I use, I will look up
    the attributes and how to do it.Now this really takes the biscuit.
    I gave you a very specific link to the document that tells you which task to use and which arguments to set. Did you check that link? If so, what else do you want? If not, why not?

  • How to run JDev's generated build.xml file(BPEL project) from command win.?

    hi all
    When I execute build.xml file of simple BPEL project from JDev it runs properly. But when I try to execute it from normal command window It gives me an following error.
    ...........droping jar file xyz.jar from path as i doesn't exists.
    While all jar files are exist there.But Ant drops it from Classpath variable.
    So JDev sets some environment before executing such build.xml file.Like {oracle.home} variable u need to set while runnig build.xml from command window.
    Any suggestions...???

  • Need build.xml to create Ear file using Ant in jdeveloper 11g??

    Hi all,
    I think Jdeveloper use ANT to create Ear file and how to get build.xml from Jdeveloper.
    1) I have created ADF Fusion web Application having separte Model and View Controller.
    2) Now when I select View Controller project and then i create New ant-> Build.xml i get the required build.xml which can be used to create war file for my View Controller project.
    3) Similarly when I select Model project and then i create New ant-> Build.xml i get the required build.xml which can be used to create Jarfile for my Model project.
    4) If I select my application and then i click deploy... I'm able to create my ear file having both war file for View Controller and Jar File for Model.
    5) But I dont know how to get built.xml file which will create ear file having both View Controller and Model in it.
    Thanks a lot....

    However note the generated Ant script includes unnecessary targets. See the following blog post: http://one-size-doesnt-fit-all.blogspot.com/2010/11/using-ojdeploy-and-ant-for-creating-adf.html

  • IS IT POSSIBLE 2 BUILD A NEW XML FROM DAMAGED ITL? SAVE FERRIS

    OK. Here's my situation. I have an HP notebook running on VISTA. ITUNES version 8.1.1....... My computer shut off abruptly while I was running ITUNES and after I restarted it and started up Itunes, I got the damaged ITL message. No big deal, I still have all my songs in their designated folder and I'll just import the XML to get all my playlists back in action. I've done this at least 10 times already. Works like a charm everytime. Oh S#!T,... my XML was wiped out during the shut down. I have a program that can retrieve files after recycle bin deletion and the XML is no where to be found. SOOOOOO here's my questiion. When my computer S#!Ted in my cereal, it split my ITL into two seperate damged ITL's. One 32 MB and the other 14 MB. I know the XML is just a backup of the ITL and I frequently update my XML twice a week to make sure no B.S. could bestow it's bad self all up in my shizz. I just never figured to make a copy of the XML because everytime this has happened, the good XML was always there to use. (NOW I KNOW)Soooo, I need to know how to build an new XML from the two damaged itl's. That way I can just import the two new xml's and then save, thus making itunes create a new fresh XML from my two provided and restoring my itunes to it's original self. My problem is I can't get ITUNES to read my two damaged ITL's. Yes, I've done the name change method, no love. I tried the restart computer at a previous date and time method, didn't work. I tried the previous libraries folder and it's five moths old, which is a 10,000 song difference for me. So that way is useless. I even downloaded the same version of ITUNES that I run onto my home computer, which runs on XP, so I could try the system cache method. No love there either. I've stumbled upon a page where a person stated that they were able to manually poke around with their ITL file and forcing ITUNES to repair it. However this person was a computer whiz and I am sooooo totally not. So I had no idea what he was talking about. Anyone dealt with this scenario before? I tried praying to GOD but all he said was "THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR PUTTING SHANIA TWAIN'S ..THAT DON'T IMPRESS ME MUCH.. ON YOUR IPOD YOU F%#KING DORK!!!" and I was like, "dude, it is undeniably impossible to not have a smile on your face for the duration of that righteous classic. Then he just f@rted into his hand and released it an inch away from my nostrils, followed by some bird flippage and nut sack grab. So I'm gonna need some help with this one. Thanks Ahead

  • Build Reports from XML output from Reports

    Hi,
    I was just wondering if it is possible to build reports from output in XML format, originally generated by Oracle Reports.
    The XML output produced by Reports is stored in a database for further processing.
    TIA
    Hien

    Hi Hien
    If I have understood this right, you need to create report in XML format from an XML Report Definition File. From the Builder, Generate to File from the File menu and choose XML format for the output.
    Remember that XML output from Reports is Data driven and faithfully reproduces the Data Model. It is NOT layout driven.

    Somewhere in your pom.xml where you are configuring your build dependancies there will be a line <scope>caching</scope> this line is configuring the build to use a flex runtime shared library. This line is generating the error because caching is not a valid dependancy scope in maven 3 however mojos uses it anyway. There was a defect opened against flexmojos; I've linked it below. Froeder's response to the issue was that it was not fixable, that the warning is expected and that we'll have to live with it for now.
