Built in iSight is no longer working after hard drive was replaced

I have a 2008 MacBook Pro that has served me well up until recently.
I had my hard drive replaced about a week ago and now I've noticed that my built in iSight is no longer working.
It doesn't work with any application or on any user.
The green light no longer comes on.
I noticed this the other day on my gmail account, no longer showing the camera icon next to my name when i'm online.
So I tried pulling it up on photobooth and ichat etc...no luck.
What should I do?
Please help.

Take your MBP back to whoever replaced the drive and ask them to resolve the rest of the problem.
(Before taking it in, make a current backup if you have added ANYTHING since you got the new drive)

Recently I had my hard drive replaced. Now my iWork apps won't work. Pages asks for a serial number when it's opened. That number was long ago registered, lost and forgotten! Isn't there a place where I can find my old serial numbers and use them to reauthorize Pages, Numbers and Keynote?

HT3275 Unable to backup using Time Machine after hard drive was replaced

I recently had my hard drive fail and I had the hard drive replaced. I restored everything from my Time Capsule without a problem. Now when I go to backup with the Time Machine, it stalls. It states it is "backing up: 12.2MB of 227GB" for the past four hours. I have attempted to restart the backup and have had the same thing happen. Any suggestions? Thanks!

If you have restored the backup, did you correctly inherit the old backup when you setup TM again??

Install the widget.. A1
Do a full reset of TM.. A4
Do a verify of the disk and the backup.. A5.
I strongly recommend you simply start over.. this happens with TM sometimes.
Archive off the old backups if you still want to keep them.. no bad idea in case there is something still to transfer.
In the airport utility erase the hard disk of the TC.. and then start again.
Make sure you do at least the first backup by ethernet as it is many times faster than wireless.

Sadly it didn't help me either.
Indeed, as Murphy may have it, I think several things might have gone wrong at the same time for me.
My Setup:
Mac Mini called "chief" with 10.5.2, two WD MyBook 1TB drives connected via FW and mirrored with RAID-1.
Mac Book Pro called "tiff" with 10.5.2, connects to mini via ethernet and AFP for Time Machine.
Both machines have been backing up since November and I have been successfully recovering files on both machines as needed.
Until now.
What has happened:
First, one of the MyBooks died, was sent in for repairs and I received a replacement yesterday. The RAID rebuild is still running (takes about 30 hours for 1TB). Even so, the file system is visible, can be mounted etc.
Today I installed Leopard on a third firewire disk, connected to the mac book pro (for testing). I called this system "leopard-test" and told it to back up also, assuming I would get a "leopard-test" sparse bundle. Sadly this attempt crashed so I turned off time machine on the test system.
Now I'm using the original Mac Book Pro system (tiff) and the time machine preferences still point to the Mac Mini disk, still report the oldest backup as being in November 2007 but when I try to recover a file, no history is shown at all.
Indeed, time machine isn't even mounting the backup image any more.
I can manually mount the image and all of the archives back to November seem to be there... it's just that time machine doesn't seem to recognise the image any more.
Any help greatly appreciated! (I REALLY don't want to lose the stuff I've been doing lately! Since I can get at the files manually, I'm thinking of renaming the original archive and starting a new one - at least then I know the old data won't be corrupted (further?))

Have spent a week trying to get iwork opened ( use Pages for my business ) - read almost every support, tried all options to no avail - earlier restore using Time Machine after affected Seagate hard drive was replaced no charge.
The error message reads: "Pages cannot be opened because of a problem. Check with the developer to make sure Pages works with this version of Mac OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and Mac OS X. Click Report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple."
Can any one confirm a simple ...

ITunes does not recognize these back up files even though the location is the same as cloud & recently burned music that does show- help! The backup files consist of 34,000+ songs; almost all burned from my own CD collection. I do have most of the songs on an ipod classic but hesitate to try to restore from that. The red outline highlights the media folder and its contents, the various subfolders are only created if that kind of content is in your library. The right-hand side shows the files that should be found in the iTunes library folder; sentinel is normally hidden so may not be visible. The core of your iTunes library is the file iTunes Library.itl, you need to restore this, the other library files and the Album Artwork folder, as well as the media folder, to restore your library.

Bootcamp not working after hard drive transfer

A problem with my bootcamp has occurred. Recently my Macbook Pro (2008 model w/ Leopard OS) broke, and I replaced it with a brand new Macbook Pro 15" (w/ Snow Leopard OS). I transferred all of the files from my old hard drive to my new hard drive, and everything worked fine except for my Windows 7 partition. Every single time I try to boot my partition, it tells my windows fails to start correctly due to a recent hardware or software change, and gives me the option to start it normally, in safe mode, ect. Each one of these options results in the blue screen of death. When I run it in safe mode, the boot gets stuck on the line "windows/system32/drivers/classpnp.sys" I have tried repairing the windows with the OS disc to no avail. I just keep getting the blue screen. I have tried to undo the partition, but when I click on bootcamp assistant I get the message, "Boot Camp Assistant cannot be used. You must update your system software before using this setup assistant." I have run all available software updates (to my knowledge) and bootcamp still refuses to work.
Does this have to do with me switching from Leopard to Snow Leopard? Can anyone help me, I'm completely stumped.

Recovery Media not Working after Hard Drive Replacement

I have replaced the hard drive in my dad's Sat C655-S5225. When I run the recovery disk I get an 03-FFFF-0000 error. Please help!

The error seems to be a hardware check failure. I don't really understand why Toshiba ever added this check, as it has been problematic for awhile now. The two most common reasons are updating the bios and replacing the hard drive. The only work around I have seen, is to obtain a Windows Media from a third party and manually install your drivers. Message me if you need to obtain a Windows installation media, Make sure you have a product key, I won't need this and you shouldn't share it with anyone.

How do I restore my data after my hard drive was replaced?

The hard drive in my iMac failed after I upgraded to Mountain Lion last week. The drive has been replaced and I'd like to restore files from my Time Capsule, if this is possible. However, when I enter Time Machine, there is a long wait while a dialogue box says "Connecting to backup volume" and then, when it becomes available, there are no previous dates before today listed and I can't move backwards, as I've done previously. I know that backups exist because I've used Time Machine before to restore files I've worked on to previous versions - and the capsule is still telling me that it's very nearly full of data. Hi again. Okay, so I'm a little embarrassed because I just needed to wait and have faith. I'll leave this here for anyone who is panicking like I was today.
Essentially, I had to allow Time Machine to install a new back-up on the Time Capsule. I resisted this for a while and thought I'd made a mistake in allowing it when it had to discard an old back-up to fit the new one onto the machine. At this point, I was worried that I was losing a valuable older back-up in place of one of an empty-ish drive. But, once this back-up had completed, I was finally able to travel backwards and see the contents of my previous hard drive. I've currently restored my desktop and some personal files and tomorrow I'm going to go for the big targets, like my iTunes library.

After my hard drive was replaced I installed Mountain Lion. I was unable to use time machine or migration assistant to access files on my external Omega hard drive even though the files are still there? Is there another way?

My hard drive on my iMac was unrepairable so Apple installed a new one for me. When I reconnected my external Iomega USB hard drive I could "see" the original backup figures and the rows of "windows" and back to the original red rows of dates in time machine, but I could only access the recent installation date of my new OS X Mountain Lion. Migration assistant would not work as well only accessing the recent backups. Is there a way to "unlock" the past data so I can retrieve my documents and photos without resorting to purchasing "rescue" software??

I had my hard drive replaced, by warranty. Guys in service centre installed 10.6.7 , but as my mac is a new one, and was eligible for free install of Lion. Unfortunately I didn't use time machine, so i don't have a back-up on software (I guess it's included in Time Machine). I have tried to download Lion from the Apple store application - it says - The file got somehow corrupted, and didn't run the installation. Now AppStore offers me to buy it! But it's supposed to be free, just because I had it installed already, isn't it? You bought your Mac after Lion came out? Right?
You then upgrade from snow Leopard (10.6.x) to Lion (10.7.x), correct? How did you do the upgrade the first time?
You had to logon to the Apple Mac store and use your purchase date and serial number to get the free upgrade the first time. Just do that again.
Maybe not through the App store? Maybe through Apple Support after logging into your account and viewing your registered products?

Short answer: Adobe has taken down the CS2 activation servers. For legitimate licensees of CS2, it has posted a special version of CS2 that requires no activation but does require a new serial number, free to legitimate owners of CS2.
