BURSTING TO FILE LOCATION

Hi,
i have a requirement to schedule a report to run every morning and then burst the output to a folder location on the network drive.
i followed the user guide and everytime it asks me for a split by & deliver by(this should match the KEY in burstig query) -
ex - if i use deliver by account_id (same as in select account_id KEY.....from table name) the output is being saved on the folder location but its saving separate outputs for each account_id..............i do not want to show the output like this in so many pdf's.....i just want the total output (which i get when i run the report manually) ina single pdf.

The data is split by the "Split By" parameter you are specifying. Set that to a global element that only appears once in your data. Your split by and deliver by values do not have to be the same.

Dynamic location for RTF file in Bursting Control File

I have a query that determines the directory location of the RTF file on the server. (eg. query returns /u01/apps/erpd2/inst/apps/erpd2_mcdeagaix821/temp/XMCI_B2CR009_RFS.rtf
Instead of hard-coding this location as:

I change the above to
<xapi:template type="rtf" location="${RTF_LOC}">

and fetch RTF_LOC at the bursting level in the Data template.
After specifying the location as a token in the bursting control file, the Bursting program errors out. It does not even go to the post-processing stage.
I have fetched the Outbound SMTP server name in a similar fashion and specified the same as a token in the Bursting XML. It works fine. Also, when I hard-code the same RTF location in the bursting file, it works! Just specifying it as a token errors out the bursting process.

I am probably too late to help you, but here is an answer for completeness. I had the same problem as you, I needed to make my template selection dynamic.
The bursting control file below was not working until I applied patch 8594771 (BURSTING DOES NOT SUPPORT ESCAPE CHARACTERS LIKE "FIRST LAST <[email protected]>" )
I managed to find this patch by running the XML Publisher Report Bursting Program with debug=Yes and got the message "java.util.zip.ZipException: ZIP file must have at least one entry". Searching on Oracle Support for this message delivered patch number 8594771

Issue in Printing, using Bursting control file

Hello All,
We are using bursting control file to print and email. Email option is working fine. But when it comes to printing, it is printing "PDF file not printed. 128MB of memory is required to enable direct PDF printing" in the printout.
We are using CUPS and below is the path we are using for printing,
ipp://localhost:631/printers/YG_MAIN
When we try to run the same program manually, by giving the printer name and number of copies to 1, then we are able to see the pdf output. Other normal bi publisher reports are also working fine, w.r.t that printer. We are facing this issue only when we are running xml bursting program, with print option.
Any suggestions please..

BI Publisher bursting to CUPS printer doesn't use PASTA, so output doesn't get converted from PDF to Postscript which it does when you run it through concurrent manager.
You can put an entry in the $XDO_TOP/resource/xdodelivery.cfg as follows (replace for your printer):

Multiple template language in Bursting Control File

Hello,
I have created a tempalte in English language. I have used translation for French and Polish Language using .xlf file
How to call them in the Bursting control file?
I am calling the French language as

Issue Bursting PDF file using delivery channel - filesystem

I have an issue happening randomly with the files that are created by the bursting process in the filesystem path mentioned in the bursting control file.
The PDF file that is the input to the Bursting process looks normal.
However the splitted PDF file created by bursting in the filesystem is having the font all messed up.
The input pdf file has multiple invoices. The issue is seen in one of the invoice that got bursted.
Can anyone give me some input into the cause of this issue. should anything be changed in the bursting control file.

A few questions: Are you using an xsl-fo template or a RTF template? Doesn't location need to point to the complete path, including the template name? Is the path specified below in your post complete?

How to call translation template from bursting control file.

Need help on calling translation template from the bursting control file.
While calling the translation template from bursting control file it ends in error. Following is the error

But same control file is working for standard tempalte.

Selective Bursting-Use of Bursting control file

I need some infromation on selective bursting of XMl data. I am bursting the Oracle EBS invoice print program based on whether the preference is email or printer. I could handle this easily in the bursting control file. The xml was filtered based in the email on the customer site and sent to proper delivery channel.
Can the bursting control file be modified in such a way that for the customers that have an email address the invoice gets bursted to the correct email address(which it does now) and the other invoices (customers with no email address) becomes one pdf file(either on the filesystem or gets emailed using another delivery channel)

</xapi:requestset>According to the docs, you can use any valid XPath expression. Any idea on what might be wrong here? I am trying to exclusively print or email based on the data. Currently, it prints AND emails all documents regardless of the value of XXCUS_DIST_CODE.

Error lies on this line --- filter="./XXCUS_DIST_CODE='P'"
you need to use it like this --
Suppose you want condition on name in following XML Struction
<STUDENT>
<Name> Jatin </NAME>
</STUDENT>
the it should be ...
filter=".//<STUDENT>[NAME = 'Jatin']"
Not in your case ui suppose it should be filter=".//XXCUS_RAXINV/LIST_G_DIST/G_DIST[XXCUS_DIST_CODE='P']".

please check the follwing below points
Is your bursting program submitted after your report complete.
if it not submitted then you need to pass 100 parameters while calling fnd_request API.
If the bursting program is submitted let us know the error. so that we can help you.
and also instead of dynamic values in the busrting file just hardcode the mail id in bursting control file and test. if you receive mails then yu can make the values dynamic.
i have observed that custom application short is name XXXX. check whether it is exact the same.
check the template registration. application is XXXX and language is English and teritory is US.

Erro in bursting ZIP file must have at least one entry

Hi All ,
i am using bursting utility for xmlp report ,but getting the following error

Hi All
i got resolved this error (Erro in bursting ZIP file must have at least one entry) ,was doing very silly mistake i was using the template name instead of Data Definition code name in location string

so the ZIP file error is removed ,now getting one more error after this ,which i am not able to under stand

Bursting Excel file

Hi guys
here is my problem, i have a report that produces xml result which calls the bursting engine to send it out. My report and also bursting program works perfectly however when i change the output-type in the bursting control file from pdf to excel or in fact any other output-type except pdf the bursting program fails with the error
Error!! Could not deliver the output for Delivery channel:null. Please check the Log for error details.
i looked for that error and i came across many post that identified the problem as wrong SMTP server. However when i change the output-type back to pdf this problem get solved.
how do i enable the XDOBURSTREP log file, and how do i see it
the template it uses is rtf

You can view the log file for the output post processor service by going to the manage concurrent managers form. Click on requests and click on show manager log.

Send to File location

Can you use the standard Send functionality to send the out put to a file location? Or must I set up a ftp to achieve this?
How come there is a FILE output option for bursting but not for sending?

Hi,
Based on your description, my understanding is that you want to save the form data to a file location outside of SharePoint.
As a workaround, you can save the filled data to a text file using C# and save the text file to a shared folder.
I suggest you do as the followings:
1. Create empty text files in a shared folder using C# File Class.

In Expression operator or in Filter, etc. you can type function name by hand.

And when I try to put them into the file location, they don't. And when I delete them, FireFox won't open. I tried deleting FireFox and reinstalling it multiple times, and a message pops up sometimes that says FireFox may not have installed correctly, so I follow the steps, but all the extra icons on my desktop don't go away. This has happened every time I have downloaded FireFox. The browser itself works, but I need to know how to get rid of these icons, but still be able to use FireFox. This is on a new computer, with Windows 7.

Managed to solve this myself. Just went to properties > hidden.
