BUS2089-CHANGEINTERACTIVE Method to call after Change Claim is clicked
Hi,
In my workflow, i have one decision task, in which the approver, either can approve, reject or change claim, this approval screen is called via UWL, which in turn calls the Abap webdynpro application.
If they choose change claim button, after the current screen is closed, then i'm triggering another work item in the uwl, which will go to PR05 screen to change and save.
The above steps, i want to make it like this:
When Change Claim is clicked, i need to call the BUS2089-CHANGEINTERACTIVE method and the approver do the changes and save it.
So all will be under one task, instead of two different task, which will avoid the approver to go to UWL twice.
Please any suggestion on this?
When Change Claim is clicked, i need to call the BUS2089-CHANGEINTERACTIVE
method and the approver do the changes and save it.
If i understood correctly then you want to do some thing like
1. As soon as the end user clicks on the Change claim button you want to call the BOR method CHANGEINTERACTIVE right, which will even take care of saving the claim.
2. so , what i would like to suggest is that , try to create a task by using the BOR BUS2089 and include the method CHANGEINTERACTIVE , from PFTC txn any way it would be a dialog transaction.
3. INclude the newly created task under the outcome Change Claim , now as soon as the end user clicks on the button change claim then the new ly created task will be executed by having the user interaction.... so as soon as the end user interaction is done you changed claim is saved and your requirement of having one workitem and over coming of how to call screens will also be resolved

JWS hangs after method remotely called - RMI
Does anyone else have problems with bugs that only appear when running under Java WebStart and doesn't throw any exception, just hangs and you end up with nothing but a grey screen on the application and the console?
I have a swing application and it communicate with another host . The communication appears to be working fine, since some methods are called on the application with no problems. The problem happens when one of those methods starts a thread, and inside the thread, a panel is shown. Running outside of the JWS, it runs ok, in JWS, it hangs before the panel is shown. Acctualy, it hangs after a object instantiation ( a new String("") ). If I remove the object instantiantion, it goes a little further, but eventually hangs.
I'm using version 1.4.2_03 . The application has 5 signed jars and the java.policy file has been changed to :
grant {
permission java.security.AllPermission "", "";
What could be causing this behavior inside the JWS? Why no exception is thrown and instead, I got a grey screen?
Thanks in advance.
Paulo KoldaevAlready did that. The console hangs as well, turning grey too. No exception is thrown. Maybe it hangs before flushing, but doesn't look like it...
I have executed the application in webstart in linux, and it worked fine. The bug only appears in windows.
Didn't test it long enough to be sure, but I think it really only happens in windows. Running outside the webstart, it runs in windows too without problems.
Is there a way to debug that kind of thing?
Is there a tool like webstart to keep the application up to date with a server, but running inside a normal VM ? The sandbox idea of webstart is good, but to some applications, it causes more problems than solutions, and even with the "security - all permissions" some things are still not quite the same as just the VM.
Thanks

Can we call a method before and after Export operations in ADF 11g
Hi,
My problem is I have to execute a method before and after the export operation.Is this posible in ADF 11g
Regards,
FelixHi,
in response to a similatr post of yours, I replied
1. Drop af:exportCollectionActionListener on a command button
2. set the command button to display = false
3. In your Java code, call
ActionEvent ae = new ActionEvent(button);
ae.queue();
Everything you put before
ActionEvent ae = new ActionEvent(button);
ae.queue();
will fires as a pre-trigger, everything after as a post trigger

After changing deprecated methods in Thread Class
I have changed the deprecated methods suspend() and stop() with JDK1.2.2 methods wait() and thread = null respectively. I wanted to know the affects after changing when I actually run the application.
For one thing, "thread = null" won't stop the thread. In fact it will have no effect on the thread at all.

Any method not allow to change PO price after do the GR
hi,
Any method not allow to change PO price after GR had done. ThanksHi jo jo,
To disallow any price changes, set the Tolerance Key limits for Price Variance (PE-Price Var in Purchasing) for PO in IMG to Zero. This will compare the new price (Effective Price w/ Cash Disc) to the material price in the Material Master. Also set the msg no. 207 (in App Area 06) as a "E"-error message. This will stop end users from making changes.
If the Tolerance limits are set to zero and the message 207 is set as E, it should work.
Let me know if this was helpful. -
Change documents in WTY after the Claim is "complete"
Dear All,
In WTY transaction, I am unable to view the change documents (Extras --> Change Documents) after the Claim is flagged off as "Complete"
Is there a way to overcome this ?
Thanks.
RajThanks Vijayesh.
The problem is resolved by introducing Action T210 (Change Documents Claim) in the standard Action control matrix after status B060.

Exception after changing tablemodel due to mouseclick on tableheader
Hi all,
i've got the following problem:
What i wanted to do:
I've added a Mouselistener to my table header in order to change the sorting if the user klicks on a columnheader.
Here's the code which gets called after the headerklick:
public void mousePressed(MouseEvent e) {
if (e.getSource().equals(table.getTableHeader())) {
JTableHeader h = (JTableHeader) e.getSource();
TableColumnModel columnModel = h.getColumnModel();
int viewColumn = columnModel.getColumnIndexAtX(e.getX());
//Change sort
((UserDataTableModel)table.getModel()).setData(getTableData(selectStatement+" ORDER BY "+dbElements[viewColumn]));
}the called setData Method submits a new SQL Query to the Database and generates a new Object[][] with the tabledata. This Object[][] is then passed to the setData(Object[][]) method of my Tablemodel:
public void setData(Object[][] newData) {
this.data = newData;
this.fireTableStructureChanged();
}Now the problem: When i test my code i get the following Exception:
Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: -1

Strange is: If i debug my application and set a Brakepoint before the call of the getTableData-Method the Exception is not thrown and everything works.
So: i click on the header, my breakpoint is reached, i klick on "continue" and tadaaa: i see my table with new sorting...
Maybe something else (besides my action) happens with the tabledata after a click on the header and my simultaneous change of modeldata is causing the exception... but if it is so: how can i stop it or wait for it?
I really hope that someone can help me with this. Thanks in advance anyway for reading so far :-)
Greets
HotkeyIt's an odd one.
The stack trace appears to indicate that the problem is when painting the columns that are being "dragged". Therefore it's possible that it doesn't like updating the table column model while it considers that you're rearranging the table columns with the mouse.
Just a thought - perhaps a simple fix is to put your sorting logic in mouseClicked instead?
Hope this helps. -
Error after changing datasource
Hi Experts,
one of our test systems (IDES) with doule stack including NW Portal is connected to the client 001.
As we have a lot of users in the client 800 we want to change the configuration of the UME to client 800.
We used this SAP Help Link:

After changing the Client in the useradmin page of the J2ee UME configuration - a connection test runs successfully.
But after restarting the server:
Server is stopped - Dispatcher is running but no server connected.

My first thougts were to check the RFC/JCo connections - so I changed the configuration to the old one via ConfigTool - UME.Services - restarted the J2EE engine.
Log to SM59 and Configtool. I regenerated the JCo Connection for sapfallback (was not available) and to the portal itself - Tested the connections in SM59 TCP/IP - successfully tested.
So i tried the changes again (client 800)- with the same errors as above?
Any idea what causes this misbehaviour? Or is the SAP help link only for initial setting of UME? Are there additional steps when changing from one ABAP Host (or client) to another?
Thanks in advance

Update:
- the host file contains localhost and service file contains sapgw00 with 3300/tcp?
- the java stack runs unter https, http is only available for localhost, may this be the problem?
- Which JCo connection causes this error - actually there are three JCo Connections maintained in VA - .. - JCo RFC Provider - NONE of them connects to localhost??

ADF VO Row Fetch Range Issue: Action is not called after 10th row
Hi People!
I am working with an Application here in which one page has a table based on a view object. This table has range navigation, and the VO configuration for Tuning is to fetch rows in batches of 1000, all in one fetch. Now, i have a single selection configured in this table, and also a button on the <tableActions> facet which calls a method on the backing bean.
The problem is, for the first 10 rows of this table, the method is called (seen through the debugger), but when we move the selection to the 11th row or further, the page only refreshes but does not call the method.
This is not a problem with the data, because we tried two other approaches:
1) removed the range navigation and shown all the records in the same page: the error persists for the 11th row ahead
2) changed the VO query to return only the 11th row from the previous test using its ID: the action is called, now that the row is the first on the rowset.
Have you experienced similar behavior? Why the Action is not executed when the selected row comes after the tenth row?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Regards
Thiago SouzaHi Frank, thanks for the reply.
I have assembled a step-by-step based on the HR schema. For this example, i have created an EmployeesVO based on the EMPLOYEES table, and an App Module to provide a data control. From then on:
1) Create a JSF JSP to list the Employees VO
1.1) Bind the JSF Page to a Backing bean
1.2) Create an af:page element on the page
2) Drag the EmployeesVO from the Data Control Palette to the af:page
2.1) Read-Only Table, Selection Enabled
2.2) Do not include table navigation.
3) Double-Click the automatically created submit button on the TableSelectOne section
3.1) Bind it to a method on the Backing Bean
3.2) Add some code to it, in my case i tested:
FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addMessage(null, new FacesMessage("Teste"));
4) Run the example and try two approaches:
4.1) select one of the first ten rows and click on the button: The action is fired.
4.2) select the eleventh row and click on the button: The action is not fired.
4.3) select one of the first ten rows again and click on the button: The action is fired.
This example didn't even include range navigation, but if you want to test you will see the result is the same.
Please let me know if you want further info.
Thanks a lot!

Refreshing ADF Query Component after changing some property of a criteria
Hi All
Use Case : Refreshing ADF Query Component after changing some property of a criteria attribute.
I have a query panel with 2 query criteria i.e. FirstName and DepartmentId where in DepartmentId is a drop down. The scenario is like when change the value of DepartmentId to 'Finance' with code value of '100' then my criteria attribute 'Firstaname' should be invisibe(queriable=false).
Approach: Have overriden the queryOperationListener of adfquery as " queryOperationListener ="#{backingBeanScope.backing_queryLstener.processQueryOperation}" "
My backing bean method goes as below :
public void processQueryOperation(QueryOperationEvent queryOperationEvent) {
// Add event code here...
if( queryOperationEvent.getOperation().equals(queryOperationEvent.getOperation().CRITERION_UPDATE) ){
DCBindingContainer bindings = (DCBindingContainer)this.getBindings();
DCIteratorBinding iter =bindings.findIteratorBinding("EmployeeView1Iterator");
ViewObjectImpl voimpl = (ViewObjectImpl)iter.getViewObject();
ViewCriteria vc = voimpl.getViewCriteriaManager().getViewCriteria("EmployeeViewCriteriaDemo");
Row currRow = vc.first();
System.out.println("Department :"+currRow.getAttribute("DepartmentId"));
if( (Integer)currRow.getAttribute("DepartmentId") ==100 ){
AttributeDef[] attrs = voimpl.getAttributeDefs();
int attrIndex = voimpl.getAttributeIndexOf("FirstName");
ViewAttributeDefImpl attrDef = (ViewAttributeDefImpl) attrs[attrIndex];
attrDef.setQueriable(false);
// AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addPartialTarget(getQryId1()); //here i need to refresh the query component which is not happening
// refreshQueryComponent(getQryId1());
Everything is happening as expected but the query panel s not get refreshed.When i refresh the whole link/page then i can see the change.
Please suggest.
Thanks in adv.
-SanjeebHi,
can's say anything about the first part of the question as more insight to the implementation would be required. However, have a look at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/83-bidi-synchronization-tree-form-401841.pdf, which may be what you are looking for
To the second part: You can programmaticallly refresh the tree component from a managed bean. So instead of using the declarative PPR option (or ChangeEventPolicy set to PPR on the iterator binding) you can wire the submit button to the managed bean, perform your validation and if it fails don't refresh teh tree
The call is
AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addPartialTarget(the_tree_instance)

Difference between Session method and call transaction
Hi,
please give me the differences between session method and call transaction,
briefly explaining synchronus , asynchronus, process, update.
Thanks in advanceHi Vijay Kumar
CLASSICAL BATCH INPUT (Session Method)
CALL TRANSACTION
BATCH INPUT METHOD:
This method is also called as CLASSICAL METHOD.
Features:
Asynchronous processing.
Synchronous Processing in database update.
Transfer data for more than one transaction.
Batch input processing log will be generated.
During processing, no transaction is started until the previous transaction has been written to the database.
CALL TRANSACTION METHOD :
This is another method to transfer data from the legacy system.
Features:
Synchronous processing. The system performs a database commit immediately before and after the CALL TRANSACTION USING statement.
Updating the database can be either synchronous or asynchronous. The program specifies the update type.
Transfer data for a single transaction.
Transfers data for a sequence of dialog screens.
No batch input processing log is generated.
http://www.sap-img.com/abap/difference-between-batch-input-and-call-transaction-in-bdc.htm
Among the two methods call transaction is better compared to session bcoz data transfer is faster in it.
Differences between call transaction and session.
Session Method:
1) Data is not updated in the database table until the session is processed.
2) No sy-subrc is returned.
3) Error log is created for error records.
4) Updation is always synchronous.
Call Transaction Method:
1) Immediate updation in the database table.
2) sy-subrc is returned.
3)Error need to be handled explicitly.
4) updation can be synchronous as well as asynchronous.
2) ya u can use using the N mode no screen.
3)u can't handle multiple transaction in call transaction.
4) u can handle multiple transaction in session using the BDC_INSERT fm.
5)When u go to SM35 u can able to see the error records.
Which is best?
That depends on your requirement. Both of them have there advantages.
According to the situation u can choose any one of these.
difference between batch input and call transaction in BDC Session method.
1) synchronous processing.
2) can tranfer large amount of data.
3) processing is slower.
4) error log is created
5) data is not updated until session is processed.
Call transaction.
1) asynchronous processing
2) can transfer small amount of data
3) processing is faster.
4) errors need to be handled explicitly
5) data is updated automatically
For session method,these are the function modules to b used.
BDC_OPEN_GROUP
BDC_INSERT
BDC_CLOSE_GROUP
For call transaction,this is the syntax.
CALL TRANSACTION TCODE USING BDCDATA
MODE A or E or N
UPDATE A or S
MESSAGES INTO MESSTAB.
Take a scenario where we need to post documents in FB01 and the input file has say 2000 records (2000 documents, not line items in FB01 but 2000 records)
In the BDC call transaction method
We call the transaction FB01 2000 times (once for each record posting) and if the processing fails in record no 3 it can be captured and start with reocord 4.
Eg: Loop at itab.
call transaction FB01
capture errors
endloop.
In the session method.
We do not explicity call the transaction 2000 times, but all the records are appeneded into a session and this session is stored. The processinf of the session is done wwhenever the user wants it to be done. Hence the errors cannot be captured in the program itself
Check these link:
http://www.sap-img.com/abap/difference-between-batch-input-and-call-transaction-in-bdc.htm
http://www.sap-img.com/abap/question-about-bdc-program.htm
http://www.itcserver.com/blog/2006/06/30/batch-input-vs-call-transaction/
http://www.planetsap.com/bdc_main_page.htm
Batch Input Session method is asynchronous as told by others here. But the advantage of this is that you have all the error messages and the data for each transaction held persistantly. You don't have to code anything for processing them or writing the logs.
But at the same time, the same feature can be disadvantageous if you need to react to an error or if there are too many errors to manually correct in a session. Since the session are created in the program and its execution is done seperately, you loose the trackability of such transactions.
With a call transaction, what was a disadvantage above will become an advantage. Call transaction immediately gives you messages back and you can react to it in your program. But the disadvantage is that, if you have several hundreds of transactions to run, running them from within the program can be resource crunching affair. It will hamper the system performance and you cannot really distribute the load. Of course, you have some mechanisms with which you can overcome this, but you will have to code for it. Also, storing the messages and storing the errored transaction data etc will have to be handled by you in the program. Whereas, in batch input session, your program's job is to just create the session, after that everything is standard SAP system's responsibility.
Ideally, you should do a call transaction if the resources are not a problem and if it fails, put the errored transaction into a session.
You can decide based on the data volume that your BDC is processing. If data volume is high go for session else call transaction will do.The call transaction updates will be instantaneous where as session needs to be processed explictly after creation.
Session Method
1) Session method supports both small amount of data aswell as large amount of data
2) data processing is asynchronus and data updation is synchronus.
3) it process multiple apllication while perfomaning validations.
4) in session method data will be updated in data base only after processing session only.
5) system provide by default logfile for handling error records.
6) it supports both foreground aswell as background process
in bdc we use FM ...
bdc_open_group " for creating Session
bdc_insert " adding transaction and bdcdata table for updating database
bdc_close_group " for closing Session
Call Transaction
1) Call transaction exclusively for small amout of data
2) it supports only one apllication while perfoming validations
3) there is no default logfile, We can explicitly provide logic for creating logfile for handling error records.
we can create logfile by using structure....BDCMSGCOLL
4) it doesn't support background processing.
5) data processing is synchronous and Data updation is Synchronous( default), in
this method also supports daya updation in asynchronus process also.
syntax:
Call transaction <transaction-name> using BDCDATA
mode <A/N/E>
update <L/A/S>
messages into BDCMSGCOLL.
BDC:
Batch Data Communication (BDC) is the process of transferring data from one SAP System to another SAP system or from a non-SAP system to SAP System.
Features :
BDC is an automatic procedure.
This method is used to transfer large amount of data that is available in electronic medium.
BDC can be used primarily when installing the SAP system and when transferring data from a legacy system (external system).
BDC uses normal transaction codes to transfer data.
Types of BDC :

Difference between Session method and Call transaction method
Hi,
Difference between Session method and Call transaction method in BDCHi,
SESSION method:
Is a standard procedure for transferring large amount of data into the R/3 system.
Data consistency is ensured because batch input uses all thje checks conducted on the normal screen.
It is a two step procedure:
1. Progarm: creates batch input session. This session is the data file that includes everything to begin the transaction.
2. Process session: Which then actually transfers the data to database table.
In this method an ABAP/4 program reads the external data that is to be entered in the SAP system and stores the data in a session.
A session stores the actions that are required to enter your data using normal SAP transactions i.e. data is transferred to session which inturn transfers data to database table. Session is an intermediate step between internal table and database table.
Data along with it's actions are stored in session. i.e. data for screen fields, to which screen it is passed, the program name behind it and how next screen is processed.
When the program has finished generating the session, u can run the session to execute the SAP transactions in it.
BDC_OPEN_GROUP
You create the session through program by BDC_OPEN_GROUP function.
1) User Name: User Name.
2) Group : Name of the session
3) Lock Date : The date when you want to process the session.
4) Keep : This parameter is passed as 'X' when you want to retain session even after processing it.
BDC_INSERT
Data is transferred to session by BDC_INSERT.
BDC_CLOSE_GROUP.
With this function the session will be closed.
CALL TRANSACTION method.
Syntax: call transaction <tr code> using <bdctab>
mode <A/N/E>
update <S/A>
messages into <internal table>.
<tr code> : transaction code
<bdctab> : Name of the BDC table
mode: mode in which you execute the transaction.
A : all screen mode ( all the screens of the transaction are displayed )
N : no screen mode ( no screen will be displayed when you execute the transaction )
E : error screen ( only those screens are displayed where in you have error record )
Update type:
S: synchronous update in which if you change data of one table then all the related tables gets updated and SY_SUBRC is returned for once and all.
A: asynchronous update in which if you change data of one table, the sy-subrc is returned and then updation of other affected tables takes place. So if system fails to update other tables still sy-subrc returned is zero.(that is when first table gets updated ).
messages: if you update database table, operation is either successful or unsuccessful. These messages are stored in internal table. This internal table structure is like BDCMSGCOLL.
TCODE: transaction code.
DYNAME: batch input module name.
DYNNUMB: batch input dyn no.
MSGTYP: batch input message type.
MSGSPRA: batch input language id of message.
MSGID: message id.
MSGV1 .MSGV5: message variables
For each entry which is updated in the database table message is available in BDCMSGCOLL.
Reward if useful

Master-detail: detail field not displayed after changed by master field
I want to use the Depends on item with Clear/refresh value functionality in a master detail situation. Within the same group it is no problem to use the setter method of a field to change a second field and then displaying this new value. But in the detail group, I can not select items from the master group as a depends on item.
In the setter of the master field, the value in a field for each row in the detail (table layout) is updated. The only problem is that this updated value is not displayed, the old value doesn't change. When saving the changes, the displayed value is committed to the database. When de updated field is not displayed at all, the correct value is saved, so I know the detail field is updated.
How can I make sure the displayed value in the detail is displayed after changeing a master field? I already gave the detail field the correct partial trigger.Wouter,
I guese you don;t see the changed value when you display the detail item because after the depends on item update changed the detail item, JSF procesing continues and the detail table changes are sent to the server which will override again the detail item attriibute, resetting it to the old, still displayed value.
So, the trick is to get PPR working. Make sure the partialTYriggers property of the detail item is set to the value of the id property of the master item. If it still doesn't work, try setting the partial triggers property on the table, instead of the individual item.

How do you access updates to apps from the App store after changing to a new ID because the password on the old ID was changed by the former husband and you don't know what it is now? And you set up your own new ID and account but can NOT access the updates, from the App store for the many apps that you already have, because they require that you sign in with that former now inaccessible ID and account and password? Call it a problem of modern times and changing relationships, if you want to be charitable.
So I guess it will only be new apps that I download that are allowed to give me their updates while 13 updates wait for me on an ID I can no longer access.
Yes... sorry.
In the future, if need be, you can re download your purchases for free > Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Good rule of thumb is to back up your purchases regardless > Mac App Store: Backing up your app purchases
