Business Connector Adapter

Hello,
I'm trying to send data from Business Conector to XI with the sender business conector adapter.
these are the steps i did:
1. set up a routing roule in the BC
2. did the configuration for the BC-Adapter sender.
2b. configure the standard modules
     - localejbs/BcAdapterModuleConverterBean
     - localejbs/BcAdapterModuleSenderBean
     - localejbs/BcAdapterModuleConverterBean
Questions:
1. What can I do with own modules and when will I use these own modules?
2. The call out of the BC is still the same URL
   (http://<hostname:portnumber>/MessagingSystem/receive/BcAdapter/BC )
How does it work, if I get messages out of two BC's (maybe two different customer)?  And I will use two different scenarios??
3. If we use a WebDispatcher, how would be the URL out of the BC? http://hostname:portnumber (of web-dispatcher)? I guess there would be no service "MessagingSystem/receive/BcAdapter/BC" of the webdispatcher. So that could be the reason of my error-message in the BC -> "Unknown Service"
Up till now, I didn't understand the process of the BC-Adapter. Can somebody help me?
Best Regards
Christoph

Hi,
did you find any solution? Now I have to do the same - converting outgoing xml-files to cxml. Do we need a converter, or is it possible to customize our Business Connector?

  • Plugging XSLT / XML processors into Business Connector 4.7

    Hi,
I need to use Xalan 2.6.0 and the associated XML parsers
    in the Business Connector.
Does anyone know whether any built-in services or
SAP Adapter services would be negatively impacted by
this change? I have found nothing in the documentation.
(Among the reasons I need to do this are that the
processors in package com.inqmy.lib.jaxp do not seem to
be JAXP 1.2 compliant. Also, they neither respect the
encoding-attribute of <xsl:output>, nor allow to override
it from the outside. When generating HTML, this has
    created problems for some clients).
In order to use Xalan/Xerces, one needs to set the
variable PREPENDCLASSES in server.bat to contain
the Xalan jars, and change the value of the configuration
variable watt.xslt.jaxp.properties in the server.cnf file.
The value of this variable is the name of a file in normal
Java properties syntax, which contains values for the
    relevant System properties:
    javax.xml.transform.TransformerFactory
    javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory
    javax.xml.parsers.SAXParserFactory
    I'm using BC 4.7 SR2, Core Fix 2, JDK 1.3.1_09 under WinXP
At first glance everything seems to work fine (I can
still use recordToDocument), but I'd like to be sure.
    And what about BC 4.6?

I think I need similar setting as that for RFC connection !!

  • IDoc Inbound Business Connector

    Hello
I am trying to send an inbound IDoc to SAP via Business Connector. This is shortly to be replaced by XI.
The flow in Business Connector creates a routing rule which is blank because it is not finding the control information from the IDoc I believe.
I think I am missing a step in my flow.
    Currently the flow is
    document to record
    Transform hierarchy to Flat.
Map ( mapping the fields into the IDoc)
    Record to Idoc
    Inbound process
The inbound process always fails because it doesnt recognise the message type, sender etc.
This is all the idoc and in record to Idoc this is an input with an output of Idoc list which is passed to the inbound process.
However Idoclist I believe doesn't seem to contain any data.
I think a step is missing can anyone help??
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Please see this.
    Hi,
BC adapter can be used when you want to communicate to a existing interface on Business Connector. If you are talking to SAP, you use RFC / IDOC adapters.
The SAP Business Connector (BC) is used in a large number of SAP production environments. SAP Business Connector will probably be gradually phased out and replaced by SAP XI technology. For the short term SAP Business connector and SAP XI will inevitably continue to coexist in companies IT landscapes.

  • Using Business Connector to convert a file to XML

Hi, I have been asked to see if a flat file created by an abap program can be converted to XML format using Business Connector (4.7). I have looked in the tutorial and the pdf documents but can not see how this is done. Please could someone give me some advice?
    - Is this possible using built-in Business Connector services - or is it more complicated?
    - Should I even bother to try to do this when it it easy for me to create an XML format file from ABAP?
    - Is there a good course, book, documentation that would help me?
    Thanks, Andy

    Hi Andy!
Our customers have this requirement to convert some "flat-file" into some XML format via Business Connector quite often. The best way (as the last post sugessted) is indeed to use the "EDI-Adapter" which is free of charge (service.sap.com/connectors).
With that module you can convert all flat-files (delimiter based, offset based, mixed, even classical EDI formats, ...) based on some definition ( = template). Be careful the EDI-Adapter Module download page states that it is supported for BC version 4.6 . However it is absolutely no problem to use it in BC 4.7 versions as well. Remember that you will NOT get any official support by SAP when using the EDI-Adapter module.
Simply import the EDI-Module as general BC package (server/replicate/inbound directory).
Generally it is very powerful, stable and well documented ...
    Best regards, Andy

    Hello gaurav,
    I have tried re-installing.
I am able to open the web-admin and also all the links except the ones in the adapters section.
I have checked the installation document, adapter guide for BC 4.8 but i couldnt find anything useful.
I was just wondering if it has got anything to do with the OS.
lemme know if you have come across anything like this.
    thanks for the help.

  • [Business Connector] JCo

    Hi all,
I have the following problem regarding Business Connector issuing IDoc for a SAP Backend system to process.
Since BC is waiting for the complete integration of the IDoc to send the next one, the process is quite long !
Thus, I had several questions regarding Business Connector :
    1) Does Business Connector necessarily rely on JCo to connect to SAP Backend systems or is there another way ?
    2) If yes, is it possible to configure pooled connection instead of direct connection as it seems to be the default behaviour
    3) Has anyone experiences multiples connections to the same SAP Backend system from one instance of Business Connector ?
    4) Is this possible to configure SAP Business Connector in order not to wait for the complete integration ?
    5) Is this possbile to configure ALE in order to only issue a receipt confirmation to SAP Business Connector (with the purpose to fasten the whole process) ?
    Thanks for you help!
    Best regards,
    Guillaume

    Hi,
1)SAP Business Connector is a SAP native Message Server.
SAP JCo is native Connector from/to R/3 to/from the Java world.
SAP Java Resource Adapter is a Connector which currently applies to JCA 1.0.
    2) neither SAP Business Connector nor SAP JCo meets JCA specifications.
    regards,
    Eugen

  • SAP ECC 6.0 -- Business Connector / Error:Input values do not contain IDOC

    Hello,
We have a scenario R/3 4.6C ORDRSP to the SAP business connector which is running fine. When I send the first IDoc the routing roule is created automatically and it can be adapted.
Now we switched to the ECC 6.0 system but I get the following error message:
"Input values do not contain IDOC" and no routing roule is created either. The status of the IDoc is 03.
Do you have any idea what the problem could be? Could it have anything to do with ECC 6.0?
    Thank you for your support.

    Hi,
I hope you must have added new SAP ECC system under SAP tab on SAP BC page.
    To check exact error information:
FIrst open SAP BC page in browser (http://localhoet:port)
Go to transaction tab, and there under TID box, enter transaction id corresponding to SM58. And check what it says.
    About routing rule:
BC automatically creates routing rule, if not you can edit and direct them to correct process flow, or you can create new routing rule, as BC need routing rule to move IDOC ahead.
Please let us know further about error information, so that we can help you further.

  • JCo IDoc: SAP Business Connector required?

On my searching for the error IDOC_ERROR_METADATA_UNAVAILABLE i have found this thread:
    BC 4.7 -IDOC_ERROR_METADATA_UNAVAILABLE
"As of SAP BC 4.7 the SAP Adapter (the piece dealing with the SAP system(s)) uses the new SAP IDoc Java API which uses other function modules to retrieve the definition data of the IDocs.
You need new permissions in the SAP system, especially
    S_IDOCDEFT:EDI_TCD=WE30,ACTVT=03,EDI_CIM=,EDI_DOC=
    S_CTS_ADMI:CTS_ADMFCT=TABL"
Does JCo Idoc require the Business Connector installed to execute the JCoIDoc.createDocument() method? I guess not, but i can not see other reasons for the error message. If i read it correctly, the BC needs the permissions in SAP, but the JCoIdoc library does not depend on the BC.
    Mike

No, it is not required.  At my company we use a third party software to handle all faxes.  Really it is setup SAP as an output device, so it is just like printing to a printer.  THe only differences is we need to have a header page in the sapscript which gives all of the details of the fax to the third party software.  This software then strips off this first page and faxes the rest of the pages.
It is called RightFax and it runs on a separate server.

  • Business Connector Connection with SAP

    Hi!!!
I have a XML file with 3 fields with 100 records. I have in SAP a Z table with the same fields of the XML file.
I made the mapping in SAP BC Developer. I want to put the records of the XML in the Z table of SAP. How can I configure this to SAP BC connects with SAP and fill the table?
Thanks a lot for your help!

  • How to connect with business connector

    Dear Gurus,
I am new to business connector. Could you please give the procedure that how we can transfer the IDOC from R/3 to business connector.
    Please help me.
    Regards,

    Hi Chandra,
The SAP Business Connector is a middleware product based on webMethods’ B2B Integration Server. It allows you to integrate with R/3 using open and non proprietary technology. SAP BC uses the Internet as communication platform and XML/HTML as data format. Thus it seamlessly integrates different IT architectures with R/3.
SAP BC allows for full bi-directional communication to and from R/3. On the one hand all SAP functionality accessible using BAPIs and IDocs can be made available to business partners over the Internet as secure XML-based services. On the other hand applications and information running on a remote web site can be instantly invoked by a simple SAP function call thus making the information of the Web available to an R/3 System.
SAP BC provides an XML layer on top of R/3 functionality so that other applications do not need any understanding of R/3 internal data structures or protocols. You can deploy SAP BC to simply but effectively achieve business-to-business integration between trading partners, thereby extending the reach of your SAP infrastructure to customers, partners and suppliers. Examples for applications may include real-time integration between supplier inventories and your SAP System or multi-vendor product, price and availability information and your purchasing application.

  • Converting Idoc to Edifact on Business Connector 4.8

Is there any possibility to convert idoc INVOIC messages into standard EDI format (Edifact D96A) on Business Connector 4.8 without using adapter ?

I think you would be required to use either an adapter or a custom module to do the conversion. BC or for that matter, no integration tool has the capability to do the conversion on it's own ... it will require "something" to do that conversion.

  • Send IDOC from Business Connector to SAP faster

    Hi Developer!
I need to send a very lot of IDOC converted from XML files from the Business Connector to SAP. The XML files are in different directories pro business partner, but they have a same type (ISU_MSCONS).
My problem, that the import take a lot of time. Only in every 3 seconds (IDOC creation time) gets (or works up?) the SAP one IDOC. I start diferent services pro partner at the same time to import the IDOCs, but I couldnt short the 3 second work time in the SAP. So you can count it easy, that in 1 minute I can import 20, in 1 hour 1200, in 1 day 28800 IDOCs instead of 100.000.
It is really parallel import? Have anybody any idea to make the import more faster. I know (asked the SAP Administrator) so, one BC - SAP connection (Program_ID) has more pools (= threads) in the SAP at the same time.
    Thanks any help,
    Charlie

    Hi Satish,
    You can achieve this requirement
1)If your external system going to support web service cals then send IDoc from External system as a web service, in PI use sender side SOAP and receiver side IDoc receiver channel  to  send IDoc.
    or
2)Use proxy program ,implement the same ALE logic in PI.
      or
3)Copy the Extenal IDoc message in to file folder as XML,then use file adapter to pick up this message and send it SAP using IDoc.
