Hi
i am creating report from cube using business objects voyager.
i have some doubts on Voyager report generation.
how to handle custom filter on voyager it means when we refresh the voyager report it will ask prompt then should enter value and then generate the report corresponding data fetched on the report (Ex : Enter your city :  XXXX , ABX ) like that
thanks

Hi,
As of the moment, Voyager is running on top of Business Objects Enterprise platform.
You might want to check out following references for screenshots and general understanding.

Hope it helps.

  • Business Objects query filter issue

    Hi all,
    In BO reporting, it is not displaying all the rows in the report when a query filter is applied.
    The same report works when filter is applied on the report level.User needs to apply filter on query level in order to create several tabs or reports on the same query.
    Please help me to overcome from this issue.
    Thanks
    Ajay

    Hi Ajay
      Check the "Limit size of result set"  property of your universe,
      1. Launch Universe Designer & open/import your universe.
      2. Go to File --> Parameters
      3. Select "controls" tab, Under "Query Limits", select/deselect the options based on your requirements
      4. Export it to repository.
    Note: Here you can "Limit size of result set", By default it is set to 5000 rows.
    Hope this may be the cause

  • Bex to Business Objects - Currency Conversion error in Webi

    Hello,
    I am attempting to transfer a Bex 7 key figure currency conversion to a Business Objects filter in a Universe for display in a Webi report.  The version of Business Objects XI 3.1 SP2.  The Bex Conversion Type is based off Calendar Month, and the Target Currency variable is a selection prompt. The filter is passed to the universe and prompts when the report is ran in Webi, but an error occurs if the currency is populated.  For instance, if I populate the filter in Webi with 'USD', the following error occurs:  The MDS query SELECT "....." failed to execute with the error Value 'USD' FOR variable "Currency" is invalid (WIS 10901).
    I'm not sure if the currency conversion information is being properly transferred and translated to Business Objects.  Does anyone have any insight on this issue?
    Thank you,
    Brock

    I was able to modify the dimension for the filter to retrieve the correct object (Ex. USD), but there are multiple incorrect selections for USD and other currency types.  For instance, when I type in USD i get 5 different options, and the one with the description 'American Dollar' is the correct one.  Why is Webi displaying all these different options?  When I display the options for currency in Bex only one 'USD' is shown in the list.   Here is my filter condition for currency type in the Universe:
    <OPTIONAL><FILTER KEY="[SELCUR]"><CONDITION OPERATORCONDITION="Equal"><CONSTANT TECH_NAME="@Prompt('Select Currency','A','Organization\Cur Key',mono,primary_key)"/></CONDITION></FILTER></OPTIONAL>
    Cur Key is my customized hidden dimension
    Thank you

  • Retrieving Query Filter conditions for a WebI Report

    I'm developing a Java program using the Business Objects SDK to gather all relevent data from a WebI report and export it to a XML document.  I'm having an issue retrieving the Filters correctly.
    Right now I have a method that retrieves a query from a query container. Then I retrieve a condition container from the query.  After that I use a loop to get the filtercondition nodes in the conditioncontainer and I get their name and ID's.  My goal is to get all the information the object, the dimension, condition, and values seperatly instead of it all printing out together. For example my code prints out this as the filter name : "Period Of Time_Air Date Greater  Enter Start Date:" .  The name contains all the information from the filter but is there a way to get each peice of information for the filter seperately.
    I'd appreciate any help.

    Please find below a snippet code that shows how to access those objects:
    Query q=oDataProvider.getQuery();
                ConditionContainer condCont=q.getCondition();
                ConditionObject condObj=null;
                FilterConditionNode fcn = null;
                FilterCondition fc = null;
                 FilterConditionValue fcv = null;
                FilterConditionContainer fcc=q.getCondition();
                if(fcc==null)
                        continue;
                int conditionCount=q.getCondition().getChildCount();
           for(int jj=0;jj<conditionCount;jj++)
                  fcn=fcc.getFilterConditionNode(jj);
                  System.out.println(getConditionLabel(fcn));
                  if(fcn==null)
                   continue;
                if(fcn instanceof AdvancedCondition)

                        int nDim= ac.getResultObjectCount();
                else if(fcn instanceof ConditionObject)
                   condObj = (ConditionObject) fcn;
                    fc=(FilterCondition)(condObj).getOperand();
                      if(fc!=null)
                          System.out.println("==================================================");
                             System.out.println("Operand Count - " + fc.getOperandCount());
                             for (int k =0; k < fc.getOperandCount(); k ++)
                               fcv=fc.getOperand(k);
                                   System.out.println("Operand Value - " + fcv);

  • How to transfer data between spreadsheets without using Business Objects?

    Hello, every time I try and log onto the business objects platform I keep getting "this system can be contacted but there is no central management server running at port 6400".  All I need to do is pass variables between spreadsheets. Both files are located in the same folder. Below are the links ive tried but have been unsuccessful  to pass data.
    (This link I used the swf loader component child and flash variables task Daya posted on Feb 15. However nothing loaded. The link wasnt a link i could display is in a browser. So i kept getting 0% when in preview mode.
    Passing values from dashboard to dashboard with Flash Variables
    Next I tried the following link. I did everything word for word and was able to display both files on the html page, but no link or connection between them existed. I would select a state and noting happened to the other swf files chart. Does this need to be in the Business Objects platform?
    Dashboards 4.0: Connect to an external
    Lastly , I used the link below. I followed everything and was able to get interaction from the parent to child however with only the files that were available on this thread. Their URL was this http://myxcelsius.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/child.swf?salesman=Schrute,Dwight. I get the concatenation but I dont get how this URL was generated? How do I develop my URL? My URL is able to display in a browser. My URL is
    http://kln-ftvp/KLNPheonix//LinkToReport.htm?fqn=MyEnterprise.Public.graphtest&run=true
    SWF Loader shows 100% instead of Dashboard.
    Even with my URL being able to display in internet explorer, I still only show 100% and a blank screen. Can anyone help me with any of the issues I am having trouble with? Your help is most appreciated. Thank you.

    It looks like you have more than one problems so it might be good to separate them out.
    Issue 1 - Logging on to BusinessObjects
    You say that when you try log on to the BO Platform you get the error message there is no central management server running on port 6400. I'm assuming you are trying to do this from the Dashboard designer.
    Does it work when you try to log on from the web browser?
    Make sure that you enter the correct system name in the system field when trying to log on from Designer. If you are unsure, either check what system name is used when you log on from your browser or check with your BO administrator.
    Issue 2 - Passing values to a child dashboard
    If you try to preview the dashboard in the designer, remember that the swf loader doesn't work in preview mode, so whatever you are trying to display won't be visible.
    First of all you need to have 2 separate flash files that works independently of each other. The one that you are planning to use as a child flash, make sure that you create the flash variables so you can pass variables to it and use them to filter your data if that is your requirement. But hold off on that for now.
    When you have 2 working flash files, save them both to the BI Launch Pad (or InfoView if you are on 3.1) and make sure they both work there. Then get the opendocument url for the child dashboard and try to open it in your browser directly using this url. If that works, use the same url in the swf viewer in the parent dashboard, save the parent dashboard back to BI Launch Pad and open it. It should now work.
    Let me know if you have any problems with these steps.
    Cheers,
    Josh

    Which Business Objects are you referring to.
    MS .NET has a thing called Business Objects but they only work in .NET.

  • Business Objects, external services and application services in CAs

    Hi All,
    right now we are developing our first eSOA Composite Application with CE and I have some questions regarding Business Objects, the import of external services and the development of application services.
    As I understood there are two ways to provide business functionality for composite applications:
    a. Import backend functionality as an external service (e.g. BAPI, RFC) at the CAF, build the application service which can be used as a callable object for UIs or the GPs
    b. Develop a local Business Object (in CAF) providing the business logic, create the application service which again can be used as a callable object. Furthermore the application service can be exposed as a Web Service (external service).
    My questions:
    1. When is it appropriate to to import external services in stead of developing local BOs?
    2. Under what conditions is it advisable to (solely) develop local BOs?
    3. What are the advantages / disadvantages regarding the reusability of the services (in option a and b)?
    Note: We are developing on NetWeaver 2004s.
    Please let me know, if you need more information to answer the questions!
    Thanks for your advice in advance,
    Regards,
    Ivonne

    Hi Ivonne,
    first of all, the CAF Business Objects (BOs) itself don't contain any business logic, they're basically just local database tables (with some CRUD services on top).
    Business logic is implemented in Application Services (AS).
    Now, regarding local BO's vs. external services, it depends on your use case. If the data is already available somewhere in your backend system it makes sense to use external services. For instance you wouldn't want to store business partners all over different composites. For data that is specific to your composite (in particular configuration, customizing etc.) and not likely to be reused by other applications you should use local BOs.
    Accessing local BO's is also much faster than calling external services.
    You can do reuse in both scenarios, since the CAF services can be exposed as web services.

  • Send mail with business object link

    Hi,
    can anyone please tell me, how can i send a mail with an business object as an attachement. when i clik on attachment, it should execute the method of business object which will display the document.
    it will be a great help,if any one can send the code.
    Thanks,
    naresh.

    Hi,
    You need classes CA_SAPUSER_BCS and CL_CAM_ADDRESS_BCS .
    CLASS ca_sapuser_bcs DEFINITION LOAD.
    CLASS cl_cam_address_bcs DEFINITION LOAD.
    You require the following local variables:
    DATA: send_request TYPE REF TO cl_bcs.
    DATA: document TYPE REF TO cl_document_bcs.
    DATA: sender TYPE REF TO cl_sapuser_bcs.
    DATA: recipient TYPE REF TO if_recipient_bcs.
    DATA: exception_info TYPE REF TO if_os_exception_info,
    bcs_exception type ref to cx_bcs.
    DATA: num_rows type i.
    DATA: textlength type SO_OBJ_LEN.
    First create a mail request:
    send_request = cl_bcs=>create_persistent( ).
    Create the mail sender:
    Get sender object
    sender = cl_sapuser_bcs=>create( sy-uname ).
    Add sender
    CALL METHOD send_request->set_sender
    EXPORTING i_sender = sender.
    You can define your mail address in this Web Application Server in the user maintenance.
    The mail can be sent to one or more addresses:
    Create recipient
    data: c_address TYPE ADR6-SMTP_ADDR.
    move mail_address to c_address.
    recipient = cl_cam_address_bcs=>create_internet_address(
    c_address ).
    Add recipient with its respective attributes to send request
    CALL METHOD send_request->add_recipient
    EXPORTING
    i_recipient = recipient
    i_express = ' '
    i_copy = ' '
    i_blind_copy = ' '.
    You receive the mail address as a string and you have to convert in into the required data type.
    The mail is sent to one address only without any additional attributes.
    You can now send the mail and write everything to the database.
    Send document
    CALL METHOD send_request->send( ).
    COMMIT WORK.
    You still have not taken any precautions against error situations.
    You can take care of this by embedding the following code in a TRY – CATCH block:
    try.
    ... Now the code comes after the creation of send_request up to the COMMIT WORK:
    catch cx_bcs into bcs_exception.
    if messages is not initial.
    messages->add_message( condition = 'mail'
    message =
    'Error occurred while sending the mail' )."#EC NOTEXT
    endif.
    exit
    endtry.
    Reward if it is helpful.

    Rajesh

  • Error Workflow not assigned to business object

    Hi Team,
        I am working on CRM 7.0 system
         I have a Z business object ,and I have created a new workflow and called one of the method of the z business object.
    And I am trying to trigger this workflow through a action definition based on status.while creating the action definition with respect to workflow I am getting the error "assigned BOR object type is not used in any workflows"  no F4 values
          I have debugged and found that the entry in the table SWDSCNTIDX is not correct.
    Kindly request you to guide me how to assign workflow to business object or how can I refer the workflow what I have created in action definition.
    Regards,
    Poornima

    Hi,
    You have to go the workflow change container element of that BOR e.g. "BUS2010030" and on tab "properties" check the checkbox "IMPORT" and "MANDATORY".
    Doing the above BOR will be available in the F4 help of actions profile wizard or conditions.

  • How to hide saved report filter condition

    Hello,
    I create an IR report and pre-create some saved report.
    I would like to hide filter condition when end-user select one report on the list so that he/she cannot see and delete the condition.
    Is there anyway to do that?
    Thank you.

    Another approach:
    Open view CRM_WORKAREAHDR/WorkAreaHeader and change the configuration. There is a button in the bar named "Attributes" (probably hidden under MORE).
    Once in there in edit mode substitute the content of attribute "UI_COMPONENT_3". It should be
    Window=CRM_ALLSEARCHES.CRM_ALLSEARCHES/LauncherWindow;horizontalAlignment=right;
    put there a
    Width=0px;
    The other way using business role is fine as well.
    cheers Carsten

    Firstly Open LDAP is not officially supported as an LDAP type, due to the wide range of customisation available, it makes it difficult to configure with BO products.
    It is important to have an LDIF of a user and a group and to use this when setting LDAP attributes in the CMC. You can use "SAP Note 1253052 - LDAP Attributes Explained" to do this.
    Did you check the "New users will be created" radio Button?
    Are the group members being specified with the full DN (posixgroups will only have CN)?
    Please also review SAP Notes 1203851, 1199496, 1257758 for related solutions to your error.

    Hello Gurprit
    I am not sure whether customer BAPIs are displayed in the BAPI explorer at all. However, you could try to push the <i><b>button with the filter icon</b></i> and choose option "<b>All </b>(BAPIs)".

  • How to use OMB to change filter conditions in OWB maps

    Hi,
    I want to know how we can use OMB to change filter conditions in an OWB map.
    As per my scenario i have a filter operator FLTR_1 in my maps and i have to change its filter condition from
    INOUTGRP1.ID IN (1,2)
    AND
    INOUTGRP1.VALUE > CONST_0_MAX_VAL
    to
    INOUTGRP1.ID IN (1,2)
    AND
    INOUTGRP1.VALUE > CONST_6_MAX_VAL
    Just for everybody's information we are migrating from OWB 9.2 to OWB 10.2 and we have called procedures in constants and used their values in filter conditions.OWB 10.2 generates the values for constants in a different way than OWB 9.2 thats why this change is required.I wish to automate the act of changing constant names so we can save time in changing the maps.
    Thx

    Carsten,
    I created a map in OWB 10.2 and ran the following command
    The filter operator name in this map is FILTER
    Carsten Herbe wrote:
    OMBALTER MAPPING 'TEST_MAP' MODIFY OPEARTOR 'FILTER' SET PROPERTIES (FILTER_CONDITION) VALUES ('INOUTGRP1.ID IN (1,2) AND INOUTGRP1.VALUE > CONST_6_MAX_VAL ')
    I got this error:
    OMB02933: Error getting child object of type OPEARTOR with name FILTER: MMM1034:
    Property OPEARTOR does not exist.
    Could you pls help on this.
