Business Partner: Maintain addresses per role

Hi Guros
We have a customer in a bankin sector that needs to maintain multiple addresses per BP and role. What we see in the system is managing multiple addresses per BP.
The requirement is the following data model:
BP ->> roles ->> addresses.
Please advise how to meet this requirement.

Hi Benni,
In the standard, this is not possible.
Address is a part of the Central Business partner  data sets- and is totally independent of role.
In fact, role and address are different datasets that have a 1:n cardinality with the BP.
You would need to make a modification to realise this.
Option 1 :
Use the Adderss usage concept.
Create a new address type in TB009, e.g. : correspondence address. Now, to ensure that this address type is only linked to this role, hide this address type for all other roles (using code modification).
So only your special role can maintain and see correspondence addresses.
Option 2 :
Create a new relationship category. Suppose you want the BP to have multiple role dependent addresses, manintan these addresses for a master BP, and derive these addresses for other BP using the Assign Address function.
E.g : Suppose I want to see 10 addresses only in role employe. I maintain an Employee relationship with an organization, maintain 10 addresses for the org, and then derive the addresses for the BP using the orgnization addresses through the Employee relationship. You can make the role as a prerequisite for the relationship so the link is like this.
BP1> Role>Relationship->BP2-->Addresses
You would ultimately need to do some different to realize this requirement since this is not supported in the standard !

    When we checked the business partner creation screen, we couldnt find an option to create the business partner in a specific role (eg, prospect, sold to party, ship to party etc).
    When we create a business partner, it is automatically added to the "business partner - general" role.

    For Creating a BP with only one specific role.
    You can enhance the BP by creating a transaction code that allows you to create BP only with specific roles.
    Tx code: to create a transaction code is SE93
    To assign the Tx code to a specific role related activity: BUSF

  • How to "PREPONE" Business partner Valid from date (Role: TR0600)

    Hi Experts,
    I created BP on 4/03/2011 and using this BP I created one Commercial Lease in Contract but while activating the contract system showing Warning message as mentioned below.
    Role Obsolete: Master Tenant with Customer Account is only valid in period From 01.03.2011
    Message no. REBPBP035
    Diagnosis
    The validity of role Obsolete: Master Tenant with Customer Account is restricted for this business partner to the period From 01.03.2011. However, the object to which the business partner is to be assigned is valid for a longer period (validity period of object: 25.05.2010-24.05.2013).
    Procedure
    Extend the validity period of the role to cover period 25.05.2010-24.05.2013 in business partner processing or assign a different partner to the object for the period in which role Obsolete: Master Tenant with Customer Account is not assigned to the partner.
    Please provide me the solution  to overcome this issue.

    HI CM,
    you have to change the date of assignment of the BP role accordingly (as
    mentioned in the warning message) if you do not want the message to   
    appear any more. Normally, the assignment of a BP to a contract should 
    cover the whole validity period and if this is not given, the message 
    arises.                                                                
    Please check the validity data of the role of the assigned business  
    partner. Therefore you have to go to the business partner maintenance
    screen and there check the validity data of the BP role.                                                                               
    As the validity data of the role aren't easy to find I have attached a
    screen shot for your information.

  • Writing an Upload Program for Business Partner, its address and Attributes

    Hi SAP Gurus,
    I am in process of writing a tech design and code for an upload program which requires uploading a list of million Business Partners, its address (primarily Zip Code) and a list of Marketing Attributes of those Business Partners. The data will come in a .csv extract which will contain the BP Name, Zip Code, Marketing Attributes (X, Y, Z, etc) and then through this upload we will be creating BPs in the system and then updating its address and then Marketing Attributes.
    The approach that I have chosen is -
    1) Select the file from the presentation server using the class/method CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES /GUI_UPLOAD FM
    2) Call the FM TEXT_CONVERT_XLS_TO_SAP to transfer the content of the MS Excel file to an internal table for further processing.
    3) Call the FM - BAPI_BUPA_CREATE_FROM_DATA and pass the necessary parameters to upload/create the Business Partner and then call the FM BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT to ensure the upload is complete.
    4) Once the upload of BP is complete, then upload the address (Zip Code) data through the FM - BAPI_BUPA_ADDRESS_ADD and then call the FM BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT to ensure the address upload is complete.
    5) Post the upload of BP and address data, call the FM CRM_MKTBP_PROCESS_BP_LIST to upload the Marketing Attributes of the Business Partners to the relevant tables and then again call the BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT.
    I just wanted to check if the above steps are correct or am I missing something important there??
    Would appreciate expert opinion/guidance on this.
    There is a time constraint on completing this; hence would appreciate a quick and reliable response to it.

    So, just wanted to re-iterate the points you highlighted -
    1) Instead of presentation server, you want the file to be read from application server and schedule this program as a background job? Am I following you correctly?
    2) Link the address upload along with the BP upload only (at the same time instead of separately) to ease of double processing through one FM - BAPI_BUPA_CREATE_FROM_DATA
    3) Calling BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT every 1000 BPs or so for faster processing.
    However, you did not mention anything about attribute upload. Is that approach fine? or do I need to include anything more there?
    Please confirm and then I can close this question.

  • How to search business partner on address?

    Hi,
    When I open the form "master data business partner" in search mode, the tab "Adresses" is gone.  How can I search for business partners in a particular street or municipality?  I can find it by writing a SQL query, but my end-users cannot do this.  They want to do it with the normal way.  Is this possible with SAP B1 (version 8.8)?

    This Functionality is not given in SAP in standard but you can have a work around.
    You can create a UDF at Business Partner Master Data Level where you can display the value of Municipality or state through FMS and later when you take it into Find mode, the udf still be there and you can search by your way.......

  • Questions on New Business Partner Standard Address Functionality in ECC6.0

    Hello.
    We are upgrading our client from 4.72 to ECC6.0 and in the UAT testing phase.
    Where before in 4.72 the Standard Mailing address was determined by a simple radio button, it appears that they have gone to a time dependent type of format which is causing issues with our client.
    Enabling 'Address Usage' : On the  Address Overview Tab in FPP2/FPP3 for the Contract Partner Role, How can we enable the  'Address Usage' box that is under the 'Address Overview' Box?  In tcode BP the other roles such as General Partner it is showing correctly.
    Any guidance would greatly be appreciated!  Thanks in advance!

  • ECC 6.0 Questions on New Business Partner Standard Address Functionality.

    Hello.
    We are upgrading our client from 4.72 to ECC6.0 and in the UAT testing phase.
    Where before in 4.72 the Standard Mailing address was determined by a simple radio button, it appears that they have gone to a time dependent type of format which is causing issues with our client.
    I have a few questions surrounding this piece.
    1) Enabling 'Address Usage' : On the  Address Overview Tab in FPP2/FPP3, How can we enable the  'Address Usage' box that is under the 'Address Overview' Box? 
    2) Determining Standard Address on Address Overview:  For accounts brought over in the upgrade, the Valid From/Valid To Dates on the Address Overview are defaulted 01/01/0001 to 12/31/9999.  How can the user now tell which is the default address without having to go to the Address Tab?
    3)  Reversing Standard Address Change:  Our client has a business scenario that occurs often in which the a customer may call in to change their Standard mailing address.  Then the customer calls back at a later time and decides they wanted to reverse back to the original address.  We have gone through this scenario using the Move button to move in the new address, which changes the standard address, then subsequently use the Move > Reverse functionality.  It appears to change the on the Address overview tab but does not save on the Address Tab. 
    4) Effective Date Change:  In 4.72 the client had the ability to change any characteristic of the BP on a certain day.  For example wanting to change the Standard address, Name, Phone on a day in the future.  So they would pick that day in the future, and the planned change would occur on that day.  We cannot find that functionality in the current ECC 6.0.

  • Business Partner Role Specific Field View in WebClient

    Hello to everyone,
    I have a question that really needs a answer.  We are upgrading from SAP CRM v4 to SAP CRM v7.0 and as such we have a number of custom Business Partner Roles within the Person BP Type.  Against these custom roles we have developed custom field and tabs in order to separate the content within the BP Role further.
    After rolling off an implementation of SAP CRM v6.0 [2007], the following seems apparent:
    - Assignment of Roles is done via an assignment block in the Customer Maintenance view.
    - You can create Business Partners in different roles initially.
    - You cannot maintain Business Partner details in specific roles
    However, you cannot display the role specific fields as you can in the WinClient.  As an example, a Citizen Role BP will have different fields to that of a Teacher, but these roles could be assigned to one Business Partner.
    There does not seem to be any guidance as to how this is managed in the WebClient and as it seems a fundamental part fo the SAP CRM offering, you would have thought that this questions has been asked, but I have found no answers.
    I really hope anyone can help and appreciate any time and effort put into solving my question.

    Yes, your observation is right - in the Web UI, fiel grouping is not implemented for roles. This is because the role concept is quite different between SAP Gui and Web UI.
    In SAP gui, (CRM 4.0) roles had a functional meaning as well as a UI control. However, the concept was changed with Web UI. Now, roles have only a functional meaning, and no effect on the UI at all.
    If you want to implement role based field grouping in Web UI, you need to define your own methods in the implementation class.
    E.g : you can write code to influence the field properties based on the roles. I guess you can redefine the DO_PREPARE_OUTPUT  methods of the impl class.
    In order to get info about which roles the BP is maintained , you can use FM BUPA_ROLES_GET_2.

  • Error - Business partner 30000011 does not exist in role TR0151

    Hello,
    I am receiving an error "Business partner 30000011 does not exist in role TR0151" while creating a Fixed Deposit Transaction through FTR_CREATE.
    Whilst testing Fixed Deposit accounting in SAP Treasury, i was testing a scenario of a MINOR and his/her GUARDIAN. Both have been created as Business Partners. However, i have NOT created the Minor further as a Customer.
    I now have a MINOR defined as a Business Partner, a GUARDIAN defined as a BUSINESS PARTNER and CUSTOMER both and a relationship established between the two through the RELATIONSHIPS tab.
    After doing the above, i am trying to create a Fixed Deposit through FTR_CREATE where i am receiving the above mentioned error.
    In Customizing, i have checked that the TR0151 is assigned to COUNTERPARTY role and TR0154 to the BENEFICIARY role
    The GUARDIAN was created with BP role - Business Partner General and then changed to COUNTER PARTY. The MINOR has been created with BP Role - Business Partner General and then changed to BENEFICIARY.
    My expectation was that since MINOR is not defined as Customer, the system would not allow me to create a FD for the Minor and display such a message which would ask me to create the FD using the GUARDIAN as the Business Partner.

    Hi,
    It is not necessary that a business partner has to be linked to a customer account.  In certain cases, your house bank itself acts as a counterparty, in that case you can directly settle to your bank account instead of managing through a customer.
    For your case, you need to maintain the role of counterparty for MINOR as well.  Only if the business partner exists in that role can you create a transaction.

  • Change authorization to a user for a particular Business Partner Role

    Hi,
    My requirement is simple. I have two set of users in my project.
    Set A will be
    1- Creating business partners with role Prospect
    2- Changing PROSPECT business partners's master data
    3- Display it
    Set B will be
    1- Changing and Displaying all business partners irrespective of their roles (prospect, sold to party, employee.)
    When I grant access the authorization object B_BUPA_RLT with ACTVT 01, 02, 03 and BP Role BUP002 (Prospect) only (for Set A) to a PFCG role, the user who has that PFCG role can still change any business partner irrespective of the business partner's role.
    Authorization object CRM_BPROLE is inactive in my PFCG role here, as per my understanding, it is used for checking if a user has authorization to assign a BP role to A BP (Not a big of concern here). Please correct me if I'm wrong.
    I studied badi BADI_CRM_BP_UIU_AUTHORITY and enhancement implementation BADI_CRM_BP_FILTER_ATTRIBUTE but none of them seem to fit in to my requirement.
    Do you have an idea/recommendation on how to proceed from here? Or am I missing something big which should be right in front of my eye?

    ACTVT: 01, 02  Role: BUP002 (the user is authorized to create a business partner only in BUP002 role. He/she is authorized to change a business partner's data only if BP has role BUP002 assigned to)
    CRM_BPROLE:
    ACTVT: 01, 02, 03  Role: BUP002 (If BP has BUP002 role only, user is authorized to change/display BP's data)
    With that authorization info, the user can still change a BP who has CRM000 (and not BUP002 role). How can I achieve that the user should have the authorization to change the BP's with role BUP002, and not BP's with other roles?
    Additional experience: In the situation below, user cannot change any BP's master data.

  • Err while confrm  Business partner  does not exist (Notification E R1 201)

    I am for the first time into CRM serv implementation.I have 2 issues. Please provide your valuable suggestions at the earliest.
    I raised a serv order, released items, confirmed it and changed the status to complete. now when i try to raise an invoice, in billing due list, serv order num is showin up but not confirmation number. Billing relevance in item category for
    service item in Serv order ---> Order related billing acc to order quantity
    confirmation item category--> Transaction related billing after completion.
    The reason i expect is that i have used a crm employee as employee responsible as HR is not yet in place. At the time of confirmation and data transfer to r/3 system is throwing a message that BP doesnot exist. Long text is as follows
    "Business partner  does not exist (Notification E R1 201)"
    I am unable to trace out which BP is it unable to find. The Sold to i am using is on the other hand available in R/3.
    1) Is service confirmation incomplete and hence is not appearing in Billing due list or is there any other reason?
    2) How can i analyse which BP number is not avilable. i.e.. how can i check the contents of bdoc system is sending and because of which value of BP is the transfer getting stopped

    3 – The number is transferred from HR and a prefix is added. In this case, a specific external interval, which must be defined as XX00000000 (upto
    XX99999999), is used (where XX denotes any two letters).
    The number range object for all switch positions is BU_PARTNER, with the interval depending on the switch value.
    For switch value 1, the system uses the internal standard interval, otherwise for switch values 2 and 3 you must also create a grouping (transaction BUC2) for these intervals. For the system to be able to connect the grouping and the number range interval, the name of the grouping must be exactly the same as the name of the corresponding number range interval (the name of the grouping is contained in the first column of the table). If you select 3 (HRALX/PNUMB = 3) for the number assignment of busienss partners of the employee role, create HRALX/PSUBG switch manually in table T77S0.
    In table T77S0, HRALX/ONUMB is used to set the number assignment for organizational units and HRALX/PNUMB is used to set the number assignment for employees.

    In  SAP Note 1111635 -Business partner cannot be deleted
    try to delete a business partner or a contact person. This is not
    possible bcoz address cannot be deleted because there are other references .
    1) deletion of the address, because it used to be used as a sender or recipient for
    e-mails, faxes and so on .
    If we use address within  BUSINESS COMMUNICTION SERVICES   (BCS )
    the system writes a where-used list for this address.This reference is a link between the address and the sent  document. We  can only delete the address when this link no longer exists.
    HOW DO WE DELETE THE LINK BETWEEN  ADRESS AND THE SENT DOCUMENT   ?
    In SAP Note 556538 - Archiving business partner for the employee role
    Business partners in the employee role are linked to an object called the
    central person. This object originates from the HR-PD framework and is used
    to integrate the business partner with the HR-PD framework. The central
    person does not have an archiving function. Only the business partner can
    be archived. However, the business partner has the employee role and is
    thus linked with a central person (and therefore cannot be archived).

    Without deleting transactional data. I guess you mean without deleting all the data from de cubes. But you want to get rid of the transactional data of BP type "C".
    Go to the manage screen of the cube involved.
    Go to the tab 'Contents'
    click on the button 'Selective Deletion' (right-side at the bottom)
    On the pop-up click on the button 'Delete selections'
    Fill in type 'C'
    Start the job.

  • Missing default flag for communication type in crm/business partner

    Hello!
    We've connected a crm 5.0 with an R/3-system (4.6c).
    The crm-system is the leading system...
    While inserting a new customer in crm with phone- and fax-number.
    After "save" we've got red bdocs, telling us that the standard entry for communication type is missing.
    In crm 5.0 there's no standard flag for the phone number but a fixed range with from-date and to-date.
    The R/3-system needs the default flag (an "X") as a sign that the number is the standard number.
    Anywhere there should be the problem...
    Is here anybody with some advices for us?

    I assume you talk about error message XR002
    You have 3 options to resolve the issue:
    1. In order to avoid error message XR002 you must set the Standard
    Indicator Validity in the maintained telephone in BP transaction.
    You can find this indicator in the yellow arrow near the telephone
    number. Here you must press the button "Standard Indicator Validity".
    2. In customizing you have the possibility to switch off the time
    dependency of the addresses causing the XR002.
    3. The error occurs due to missing ADRU entries for the communication
    data (Email, Phone, Fax etc).
    The function modules used in data exchange assumes that there is
    an ADRU entry for all addresses. This assumption is partially correct.
    If an address is created in Basis release 6.40 and above, then for all
    communication data of that address ADRU entries will be created.
    But if a Business Partner(with address) is created in release 6.20 or
    below and system is upgraded to 7.0, ADRU entries for the communication
    data of thoses addresses are not automatically created. When the user
    opens that BP in change mode & modifies the communication data and
    saves it then ADRU entries for that BP's communication data are created.
    There exist a correction report and several notes, so I think if above info
    is not able to help, it would be better to open a support message!

  • Error while creating a business partner / sponsor

    Hi experts,
    I am getting the following error (same as the one posted by one of the other users) when i try to create a business partner in the 'sponsor' role:
    Sponsor does not have a customer associated with it.
    Because of this error I AM STUCK!!! and cannot move forward with the rest of the customization. I searched all the settings and researched this error - couldnt find anything useful.
    Can you guys PLEASE HELP???

    See Customizing Grantee Management   ->GM-GTE Customizing: Master Data  -> GM-GTE Master Data Customizing: Sponsor
    You can adjust your customizing in a way to create the customer automatically at the time of creating the sponsor, or you can first create the sponsor and link it to a customer afterwards. This will depend on how the sponsor Role (Standard is PSSP01) is set.
    you can find it in the IMG> Master Data Synchronization> Customer/Vendor Integration> Business Partner Settings> Settings for Customer Integration> Set BP Role Category for Direction BP to Customer
    and check options 'Customer-based' or 'Optional for Customer'
