Button tabular form strange behaviour

Hello everibody.
Working with Oracle 10G Forms & Database.
I have a tabular form. In this I have some buttons added to every row of tabular.
I use a Access Key to can execute any of those buttons.
The problem.
If I use the Access Key the trigger fired ever use the data of 1º record in tabular form, maybe Im situate in 5º record if I use access key the trigger take the data of 1º record. If I clik ,whith mouse on the button it take the properly record data.
Any idea wellcome.

Access-Keys will not work properly in a tabular form. The access-key should be unique to the form, if there is more than one time the same access-key, the first one fires, and in a multirecord-block the first one is the first record.

Click button to 'show' strange behaviour

I have a slide with 3 click boxes which when clicked 'show' text captions that are set to be invisible on slide load.
For some reason when a click box is clicked it shows the associated text caption (great) but then sometimes it automatically continues onto the next slide. Sometimes it doesnt continue to the next slide on the first click box but on the 2nd click box instead.
For info - there is a 4th click button on the bottom of the slide which is used to navigate to the next slide.
What is causing this behaviour? I have done this sort of thing before on other projects which work fine.

Did you use simple actions to show objects? In that case, the moving on of the play head is the to be expected behavior. Have a look at:

So please, explain how you use click box to trigger the show effect, where the pausing point of the click boxes is? Perhaps post a screenshot of the timeline?

Read only column in tabular form

There is a not null column ( say SEQ) in a tabular form that is getting an auto value from other process. 2 more columns need user input on each row.I need to make this column(SEQ) as read only.
If I make this column (SEQ) as standard report column then when I submit the newly added row , I always get ORA-20001 error- can not insert NULL into SEQ.. even though I can see there is a value there. Switch ithe column back to text field, the insert went just fine .
How do you solve this read only column issue ?

Nope, SEQ is not the first column. Primary Key is and I leave the pK alone.
When I press ADDROW button , tabular form is like the following: ( table alreay has 2 rows), I auto populate SEQ column and I like to make this SEQ column display only.

Enable/disable/defaulting the radio button in tabular Form

Hi friends,
I have one radio button column in my tabular form with 3 values for it.
<li>FC
<li>BC
<li>EC
I need to enable/disable the radio buttons according to the position of the user.
If the position of the user is CEO means,
then FC radio button has to be checked defaultly and also for him he needs to have BC and EC radio buttons to be enabled.
If the position of the user is between(1-4) grades means,
then FC radio button has to be disabled, but BC radio button has to be checked defaultly and also for him he needs to have EC radio buttons to be enabled.
If the position of the user is between(4-6) grades means,
then FC, BC radio button has to be disabled, but EC radio button has to be checked defaultly.
How i can achieve this radio button enabling/disabling and defaulting it dynamically according to the user.
Where i need to specify this kind of restriction inorder to work for me in my application.

I tried in the below manner on the lov definition of my radio button and it hide/shown according to the user who logs into the application.

Delete button doesn't work in tabular form after upgrade from APEX3.2 to 4

I just upgraded the APEX from 3.2 to 4.0. However, my application is not working anymore.
First of all, my delete button in tabular form is not working. When I select a row and click the delete button, the row is not deleted, however the message showed 1 row is deleted.
Could you anybody tell me how can I debug this problem?

I had the same problem. I first tried the solution above, but that didn't work. I also had a derived column for a custom popup and some display only columns. I removed the derived column and took out the display columns from my query. I then made sure my column order matched the source query. I applied changes and the delete button worked. FYI. I found out by some testing that it was actually trying to delete from the table, but with the wrong id. My first editable field was qty so if the qty was equal to 2 it then tried to delete from the table where pk=2(I had to restore that record). I believe it is related to the bug above. Backup your app first. I always do before I mess with the tabular forms.

How to set a column value in a tabular form via button

Hi All,
I am using Apex 3.0.1. And to create the form I am using the APEX interface tool
I have tabular updateable report. In the same page I have a LOV field where I can choose some possible results.
I want to have a button so I can select a value in the LOV, take this value and populate the column value to the LOV value for all rows in the tabular form.
The LOV and the buttons are done.. to update the column I tried creating a pl/sql that is executed when the button is pressed and has the following update in a loop for each element:

When I press the button, the page refreshes but nothing happens. I don't see any changes in the Values for the column I am trying to update

If you are doing this after a SUBMIT, then try updating your data table instead of the g_f02 array. When you page is re-rendered, it should re-query your data table.
If you do not want to submit the page, then try your hand at JavaScript.

Help using a dynamic action to update tabular form items (specifically radio button) based on collection

I have noticed the following:
when I change column C011 (price) the following values are set in the dynamic action:
P110_ID = f11_1
P110_VALUE = whatever I change the price to.
when I change the column C024 (hms_flag), the following values are set:
P110_ID = f03_0001
P110_VALUE = whatever I change hms_flag to.
the region is refreshed in my dynamic action, and the change for hms_flag does not hold. I have tested the SQL query that generates the value for v_SEQ in the dynamic action.   In both a change to price and HMS_FLAG it appears valid

field c024 references f03.
the Dynamic ACtion, step 4 calculates v_member by taking a substring of P110_ID...and in all other fields, the column and the field (fxx) are the same value....except for c024.
I am not certain exactly how to resolve, but see the problem.

Add row button is not working in manual tabular form

I have created a tabular form by using collections. In the same page there is a wizard tabular form also.
Here my problem is whenever i giving request to the add row button its showing nothing. there is no any new row got added.

How to use enter key instead of save button in tabular form?

Hello,
is there a way to save data entered into a tabular form by clicken enter instead of "submit/save" button?
We got it working for normal forms but not for tab. forms

Hi Friedrich,
try to enter
onkeypress="return submitEnter(this,event)"into "Element Attributes" of your tabular form column.
If you hit enter, the page will be submitted with request set to the id of the tabular form column.

Adding a button to each row of a tabular form

Hi,
I'm new to APEX. I've searched the forums high and low for a couple days, but no go on a solution to my problem. Perhaps I'm not phrasing my search right.
I have a tabular form. The columns in each row save to a table called STORE. At the end of each row, I'd like to have a button/hyperlink that takes you to another page wherein, for that store, you can check/uncheck the items they carry. So, here's the main tabular form:
The Hardware Shop -- Col1 Col2 Col3 Col4 Col5 Link
Bob's Nuts and Bolts -- Col1 Col2 Col3 Col4 Col5 Link
Suppose you click on the link for The HW Shop. Now you're in a screen where you have a list of 20 items (coming from another table). From that list, you can check/uncheck the items carried by that store, save changes, and return to the tabular form. Checking/unchecking would insert/delete records from a junction table (using a trigger I guess).
Back in the tabular form, you should still be able to save data at that level (i.e. the col1, col2, etc., above). I have this latter part working, and I know how to write triggers, it's just the button link concept that I can't understand.
I'd be much obliged if somebody could point me to some sort of reference/example.

I'd like to add some functionality to this, and would appreciate any input. I can't post this app for security reasons, and it would require a lot of reworking to 'genericize' it, so I'll just devote that same energy to being as detailed as possible in my explanation of the issue.
Part of my app has 2 pages that interact with each other. Page 1 is a tabular form, and at the end of each row there is a link column, which I created with Arie's help. This link opens up page 2, which is also a tabular form.
Clicking 'Save' in page 2 should launch a javascript function to do some calculation, and then this calculation should be sent back to page 1, and stored in a text field located on the same row as the link column that was clicked in page 1.
There's a lot of different ideas floating in the forums regarding javascript calls via buttons, and I'm currently researching that. More important to me is understanding what row number was clicked on page 1 (i.e. f01, f02, etc.).
I think this posting is similar to what I'm trying to do: Re: Trying to attach onclick event to a pagination link But, the replies went a bit over my head. I managed to create a row selector, which added a checkbox column to my form. But the downside to that is I don't want to force the user to click a checkbox to activate a row, and then do the additional step of clicking the link column.

Strange behaviour of Adobe Forms

Hi Experts,
I am using webdynpro Java with AIF on NW2004s SP9, Adobe Reader 7.0.9 with NWDS 7.0.09.
AIF is working fine when I access using Local area network and I am facing strange behaviour of AIF using dial-up access. I am not able to retrieve the parameters of Adobe forms when I access using dial-up connecting through VPN to portal server. whatever values I entered in Adobe UI fields where not showing up in webdynpro application. Same application is working fine with LAN and able to retrieve all parameter values of Adobe UI elements.
Dial-up is connecting at 50kbps speed and Adobe forms size is around 300kb.

Strange behaviour in ORacle Forms Webutil 106 / Error message WUC-14 WUC-12

This is to inform you about a strange behaviour in Webutil V1.0.6
Hosting environment is Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.0.2 on Unix Solaris 10
Oracle Server 10.2.0.4.0 Enterprise Edition
Client-envionment : Windows 2000, IE 6
I created an Forms based application which reads in certain text files into the database using
Webutil. The data will get changed using the application with logic and lateron a different textfile
will be transmitted using either ftp or it may be created on the client side (again with Webutil).
This solution worked perfect for some time (a year or so) using CLIENT_TEXT_IO...
Hoewever, during the week, I recognized users coming up with the statement that the download
to the local client does not worked anymore in certain situations. The system is producing an error-msg
on the Form in the following sequence :
WUC-14 [getFromObjectCache] ...
WUC-14 [getFromObjectCache] ...
WUC-12 [FileFunctions.newLine()] ...
I traced the session and traced WebUtil, was able to reproduce the problem but could not find out the source
of it in the first place.
Hoewever, it came out, that part of the file being created on the client is a "¿" sign : hex :$BF
This was already part of the file being read in the first place, so the value is stored in the database.
There is no problem when reading a file having a content like this with CLIENT_TEXT_IO but there obviously is one
when writing it to the local client.
The file is getting processed on the client and gets closed with CLIENT_TEXT_IO.FCLOSE.
After the FCLOSE statement is getting processed, the above errors occurs, The length of the produced file is then : 0 bytes ^^
Whenever facing a problem like this check the content of the file you are trying to create.
Workaround was :
- set workingDirectory in formsweb.cfg
- using Forms based TEXT_IO rather than CLIENT_TEXT_IO to create the file on the backend side (Apps-server)
- implement WEBUTIL_FILE_TRANSFER.AS_To_Client_With_Progress to download the file to the client
In order to make it a little bit "colourful" I implemented a bean with progressbar when creating the file on the back end side
Works perfect... and looks nice :)

1. Close ALL open browsers.
2. On the client machine search all directories for webutil.*properties and delete all instances of that file.

4. Clear the JRE jar cache. This can be done several ways, but using the Java Control Panel is likely the easiest and safest.
Now stop the OC4J instance and start again and try at client...

Save changes button not working in my tabular form

Hello,
I have created a tabular form with all the button like cancel,delete,save,add row and their processes by default
when i tried to run the report, the save is not working (whenever i tried to make some changes and update the form) like it giving me an error saying that
" Error in mru internal routine: ORA-20001: no data found in tabular form "
I looked at the process MRU, it is OKAY.
I tried to delete it(the MRU process) and created a new MRU process then also the SAVE button is not working, like it gives the same error.
" Error in mru internal routine: ORA-20001: no data found in tabular form "
Can anyone help me out with this issue...!
what might be the problem?

There could be two reasons for this error:
1. in your MRU Process, you didn't type the proper primary key column name
2. your tabular form is missing the referenced collumn

How to hide and show button based on if row is selected in tabular form

Hi,
Im pretty new to apex. I am using version 4.1. I have a tabular form and what i want to do is only have the delete button show if i select a row from the [row selector] column. Can this be done using a dynamic action? I have tried it that way unsuccessfully. Please help or let me know if you need any more information.

Do you mean if the check box is selected in the row?
Assign a static ID to the delete button, e.g. MY_DEL_BTN. Look for "Static ID" under the Attributes section of the button.
If so, make an advanced Dynamic Action based on Click and a jQuery selector. Usually, this element is name "f01" but, you need to make sure. Assuming it is "f01" then your jquery selector would be:
input[name="f01"]set the event scope to live.
Your dynamic action will fire JavaScript. (BE SURE TO UNSELECT FIRE ON PAGE LOAD). To make sure you have the right jQuery selector, at first just put a pop up message in the JavaScript.
alert('You Clicked the Row Selector!');Run the page. Click the row selector. If you get the pop up you have specified the jQuery selector correctly. Yay!
Then, assuming the above is correct. You can now determine if any have been selected.
Now, set it back to SELECT TO FIRE ON PAGE LOAD (You want the delete to be hidden when you first open the page).
Change your JavaScript to this:

Add row button on tabular form works from time to time

Hi!
we have two environments (dev & prod) with 10gR2 and APEX 3.2.1.00.12 (installed from one and only setup file)
we have developed application on dev and moved it to prod,
and on prod it was discovered that - from time to time (not always) -
when you press 'add row' button on tabular form,
tabular form does not display new record on the page,
if number of records exceeds number of records allowed to show
(i.e. with 10 records maximum it works fine when you add records from 1 to 10 and can't add record 11)
but - interestingly - increases number of rows in pagination by 1
(e.g. "rows 10-20 of 35" changes to "rows 10-20 of 36").
on dev this tabular form works correctly.
what is it and how to heal it?..
I recall I had same issue in prior releases (3.0 - 3.1), is it known issue?

It seems to be true:
- if there is ascending order on columns which fields are null in new line (have no default value), new row is visible in current "pagination" page
- but if there is DEScending order OR ANY sort order is set on columns which fields are NOT null in new line (have default value), new row is NOT visible in current "pagination" page
