Button with pre element text is given a container div

Hi!
Just installed 4.2.2.00.09 and imported a workspace and an application. Worked fine.
I noted a page display difference when compared to the exported application (4.1.0.00.32). I have (so far) found this:
If I have a button with Pre Element Text set to <div class="dummy"> and Post Element Text set to </div>, Apex generates an extra div around it all.
If my button was named P1_SUBMIT I end up with
<div id="P1_SUBMIT_CONTAINER">
<div class="dummy"> <input type="button" value="Search" id="P1_SUBMIT" /></div>
</div>
Is it possible for me to turn this extra div off?

Hi,
Change the "Number of Columns" setting in the "List of Values" where you define the 1,2,3,4,5 to "5", and you'll be all set.

must all have the same text. Perhaps a cluster could be used, but the
array makes button alignment easy and easy to determine which had been

When might that Latched When Pressed behavior be useful ? Using a 2D
array of buttons (not cluster), in LV 6.1, a Value Changed event for
the array can be used as you mention below to XOR the event's OldValue
and NewValue and wire that to a local variable copy of the array.
This easily gives a radio button effect for the entire 2D button
matrix. The array control automatcially arranges the visual
alignment of the buttons.
For the cluster method, I'd like to programmatically change which
button is true. All the approaches I come up with end up using
Array-to-Cluster which then requires the cluster size to be specified.
I may end up wanting to programmatically vary the number of buttons in
both dimensions and hence the cluster size. LV's Align Objects and
Distribue Objects ends up making the button visual alignment not
difficult (for a 12 x 8 matrix).

H.264 codec not working with Pre Elements 8 demo

I downloaded premiere elements 8 and even installed the upgrade (30 day demo) and I can't open video files taken with my canon 7d camera. I have found a conversion tool to change my mov to avi but thats extra time that I dont want to spend.
From what I've read Elements 8 should be able to use the canon files but mine cant. Any suggestions?

Two boolean buttons with colors and text?

HI,
I need two boolean buttons which will represent a power switch. So one will be ON and one will be OFF, but I need the text to be right on the button and I also want the buttons to switch colors. I have found only one or the other property (text on button or color) but not both on the pallette. Am I just not looking at the right buttons/properties? Please recommend what I should be using. (i.e. when ON is depressed I want it to be green, and OFF to be grey and viceversa)

Programatically, there are two attribute nodes, one of them is strings, which will accept an array of 4 strings, being the following:
1-OFF state
2-ON state
3-ON to OFF state (when latched or switched until release)
4-OFF to ON state (when latched or switched until release)
The other attribute is Colors, which is composed of an array of clusters of two numeric or color constants(controls):
1-OFF sate foreground and background
2-ON state foreground and background
3-ON to OFF state foreground and background (when latched or switched until release)
4-OFF to ON state foreground and background (when latched or switched until release)

Post-element text with computed value

I have a page item (P10_X) with post-element text referencing a application level item using &G_ITEM. notation. G_ITEM is computed on the page and the computation needs to take into account the value of P10_X so the firing point is "after footer".
This leads to a Catch-22 because the item and post-element text is rendered before the computation so the value of G_ITEM is not accurate.
Any ideas? Thanks

Not sure I understand. Suppose P10_X=10 when it is rendered. G_ITEM is computed as :P10_X (i.e. 10) + (select ...). The post-element text for P10_X refers to &G_ITEM. so it uses the "stale" value of G_ITEM; the latest value is not computed until after all regions are rendered.
Edit: Turns out that P10_X obtains it value in an Before Header application process, not via its Source attribute. So I can put the computation for G_ITEM at the After Header point and so everything gets computed and rendered properly.

CREATING "MASTER" PROJECT WITH PREMIERE ELEMENTS (PRE)

I am creating a new thread following up on earlier questions re Premiere Elements 8.0 (PRE).
I have created (authored?) 14 projects with music using PRE and burned each on 1 DVD. I did not save to a folder, but went to Share and Burn Disc. They show well on TV from an ordinary DVD player. Now I must combine these projects into 3 "master" projects on 3 DVDs and burn multiple copies to send to former members of my Boy Scout Troop. See the chart below. I thought (silly me) that I could do that straightforwardly with PRE. I am going to start following suggestions from Bill Hunt and Nealeh.

Help with Find / Replace button title tag contents (text)

I designed my site with Sitegrinder (Medialab) –
Currently all the title tags generated for buttons are the same as
the actual html page name.
The problem with this is that the tooltip which appears in
browsers when you hover over the button with the mouse gives you
the page name. Instead I want to use these tooltips to give the
user an indication of what the function of the button is.
An example: A zoom button above an image: Currenty the
tootlip says “zoom imagename pagename” – Instead
it should say “click here to zoom”.
I need help to get the Dreamweaver Find and Replace tool to
batch replace these tags for me for about a 100 pages.
Here is an example of the code:

I only want to replace the text in the title tag - Since the

You have ~ 100 pages, each of which has images with title
attributes (not
tags), all of which BEGIN with the letters "zoom"?
What do you want to replace that text with? Wouldn't it be
different for
each button? Or do you mean that you would do multiple
sitewide searches,
one for each button? This illustrates how wrong it is to not
use DW
Templates or server-side includes to simplify the management
of your
navigation elements....
Did you ask Medialabs if it would be possible to specify this
before
generating the HTML?
How did you like working with SiteGrinder? It looks like a
nice product to
me, although I'm not fond of the final results code-wise....

Buttons just appearing as text for certain clients until enabled with onClick and enabled

Would anyone know why buttons may disappear for some clients but not others.   I'm not finding a consistent pattern. When I sign in locally or through vpn they display and behave properly, but when I sign in externally via Chrome or IE 11
sometime the buttons only appear as text other disable buttons that are enabled on click. I have a laptop with ie11 Win8 and desktop with ie11 win7.   The laptop displays the buttons proper behavior and the desktop does not.
anyone have any ideas. Someone was working on the server recently and I'm wondering if any IIS setting may cause this problem. Thanks for help!

Solved.  The disabled status was being overwritten as null.

Need help with explanation of FRAPS to Adobe Pre Elements

Hello Everyone.
So I'm having this issue and its really holding me back. I am a complete hobbyist when it comes to editing and I'm trying to solve my issue where my fraps footage looks like garbage once imported into Adobe Pre Elements 9.
Now I wanted to get a newer version of Adobe because it seems to be a good starting place for me to get more into editing and its the only program I'm familiar with so I went ahead and bought Elements 11.
My settings are fine and I have made a post before about my issue and I have found the simplest answer I could find. but it makes no scene to me . I have no idea what a codec is and how to work these programs. I am looking for someone to explain to me what I have to do to keep my quality from fraps and import it into adobe and when its exported to actually look like its a 1080p Movie rather than what I'm having.

I have watched a number of videos on what my settings and render out settings should be and they are correct.

FFDShow is a "direct show" video application. Once, going back many years, Premiere (before either Elements, or the Pro versions) once used direct show for display. At about Premiere 5.0, that was changed, and Premiere began using its own display module. FFDShow is available from several sources, but many users of both PrPro and PrE have had issues with it, and it is usually tough to remove from a system. However, one trusted user and contributor here, Neale, found that FFDShow did help with some display problems on his computer, and some claim that Adobe T/S does recommend it, in some cases. Based on the problems, that so many others have encountered with FFDShow and several Adobe programs, I steer clear of it.
A video screen-cap program will capture at the computer's full screen resolution, or some portion of that, so if one has, say 1920 x 1080 for the display resolution, that will be the default capture resolution. What is stated by other posters is probably THEIR computer's screen resolution, and yours might well differ.
The HuffYUV CODEC is available free, but it is now rather long in the tooth. Many feel that the newer Lagarith Lossless, or UT Lossless, are better options, and both are free. In their cases, one would Export/Convert to MS AVI, but using the Lagarith, or UT CODEC, inside the AVI wrapper. It has been so long, since I last used HuffYUV, that I cannot recall if it was also wrapped in the MS AVI container, or not - just too long ago.

Creating a button with a text label layer

Hi guys. Looking for any tips on how best to implement a button with a text label. I initially created a rectangle object on a lower layer and with text in the upper layer via type tool. When I group both objects and create the button the text is readable in my InDesign (document) computer screen but the minute I preview it on my iPad the button becomes unreadable and pixellated. I tried various approaches by moving the text layer outside the button group does not display the text at all. Has anyone run into this issue? If so what is the best practice? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the insight Neil. Regarding my button design its nothing fancy. Its a rectangle box on one layer and a text label on another layer inside the rectangle object. What I'm trying to simulate is when the user taps on the button the click state will change colour to notify the user that they have activated an event and in this case a navto://...
The way I've implemented it is the rectangle is coloured pink [Normal] and when tapped the light pink [Click] toggles between both colours BUT my text label disappears.

How to make mouseover scroll buttons attached to textarea with external loaded text ?

I am working in Flash CS3 and AS3, and I'm not good in
scripting.
I want to make a dynamic textarea with loaded text from an
external textfile, and then I want custom made arrow buttons to
start scrolling the loaded text on mouseover (not click) andt stop
scrolling on mouseout. Ala like in this webpage:

The part with the loaded text is fine, but I can't manage to
script the arrow buttons to do what I've just described. Even
though I have searched the Internet for recipes I just find how to
scroll loaded text on click or with a scrollbar. This problem is
starting to drive me crazy!! Is there anyone that have a recipe for
this??

Here's one approach:
First you need to create a dynamic mutline textfield that has
autoSize properties set to handle a varying amount of text.
Then you need to embed the font because you are going to use
a mask over the textfield to define the viewable area of it.
Then you will use the buttons to change the textfield's y
property to move the textfield up/down vertically. You will
probably need to use an ENTER_FRAME event handler so that a
continuous hovering of a button will cause the textfield to
continue moving until it either reaches one end or the other or
when the hovering ends.
Before you try to tackle that though, just make it so that
hovering a button will cause the textfield to move up or down one
increment of distance. Just take it one step at a time.

Scaling buttons with text

Hello,
I work with the brand new fireworks CS6.
I would like to make a simple navigation with 5 buttons. But there is a big problem with the scaling of text. Even if i place buttons of the standard library i can't scale correct !!!!
After scaling the text is no more centered (vertical and/or horizontal).
When i write long text in a button i got some horrible scaling effects.
I tried to fix this problems many hours because i can't believe that such a basic function doesn't work.
In my symbols (buttons) i centered the text and the rectangle exactly (horizontal and vertical).
Do i have to change something in my properties?

Dear Linus,
I think the 9-slice guides does not take effect to Text. They take effect only on forms. In my case i have a rectangle with text inside. The 9-slice guides are only for the rectangle relevant.
As explained it even doesn't works with the buttons from the fireworks standard library.
