Buy upgrade of 2 product

Hi,
I own a older (CS1) version of the adobe suite and want to get 2 (photoshop and illustrator) of the CS4 version. Can i upgrade the 2 products using the old version of the suite? or can i upgrade 1 and have to buy 1 with the full price?

It's pretty much as Buko says. That said, you can see if there are exceptions for your situation with a phone call to Adobe customer service. If you find that they're willing to strike a deal with you, please post back.

I have the student edition of CS5 Production Premium suite and Adobe Acrobat X Pro for Windows and I was wondering if there was a way to upgrade it to the CS6 Master Collection. After upgrade to JHS Production: cannot find two standard java Classes

Hi, First: congratulations on the Production release. Great that it is there.
After making several backups, I have upgraded to JHS build 91 Production release (I came from JHS build 78).
1. after upgrade to JHS Production, I tested my application first (so before re-enabling Jheadstart on the ViewController and regenerating pages). The application still worked fine
2. I re-enabled JHeadstart on the VC project
3. I opened my Applictation Definition Files and saved them (I noticed a deprecated property OverwriteUiModel that disappeared after saving)
4. I ran the generator on my three App. Def. Files.
5. I rebuild the whole application
6. I ran the application, the first (Table-style) page comes up fine
7. But when clicking on one of the records in the Table to navigate to the Form page...the Embedded OC4J exits with a fatal error:
Fatal error: Cannot find class java/lang/StackOverflowError
Fatal error: Cannot find class java/lang/NullPointerException

I have the (ugly) feeling that I am facing the problem mentioned in http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=1211326? : it looks like when a JSPX page gets too complex, the Embedded OC4J raises this StackOverFlow class notfound error :-(. Probably the (it only hits me when navigating to the most complex page) generated page generated with build 78 was fine, but the generated page after build 91 has become too complex, allthough nothing changed in between. What I can see from the difference between the before and after build 91 situation for all pages, is that you have added the <id=...> arguments to all ADF elements, like [id="PersonsSaveButton"] in:

I noticed people asking if there is a kind of 'maximum' on how complex a page can get before this error situation happens. No answer on that found (you do not want to know there is a maximum anyway).
The specific page is a master with 5 stacked detail regions and three "use as LOV" groups. Further on about 30 domains are used...
And the page has not finished yet, it will get more "complex" that this. I hope someone knows a good solution so that I can continue to use the Embedded OC4J for testing, otherwise developing wil get very time consuming if I have to deploy to AS every time...something I cannot afford since the project deadline is getting nearer and nearer.

I know about downloads you can purchase to delete Dups, but I'm very interested to find out from apple themselves as to why they left this out, to die without knowing this is like having viruses on a pc or waiting for the web page to pop up on windows...

You could have more 5 computers authorized if you ever, for example, reformatted a hard drive or replaced a hard drive without deauthorizing the computer first. Apple's system would see that as a different computer, even though you don't. There's nothing to be afraid of in deauthorizing everything and the reauthorizing what you actually have. You won't lose any data. Mistimp is correct, they can't tell you which computers are authorized.

No one is likely to recommend where you buy your software from other than Adobe in these forums... not so much because of support for Adobe, but mostly because of lack of support/knowledge of any third party vendors. No purchase is required to install Flash Player. The offer you're seeing is optional. There should be a yellow 'Install Now' button on the bottom right of the page. Is the button not displaying? Please post a screenshot of the page (How to post a screenshot in the forum).

I do have an eligable copy of design premium and was about to purchase an upgrade to post production under that presumption.
After talking to the live Adobe chat person "Janet" I was left with the impression that CS4 collapses upon installation of CS5 and therefor unable to use indesign CS4 anymore.
Adobe do not seem to detail anywhere on the website this is true or not, which is making it difficult for me to upgrade to the correct suite package.

Yes, except photos will only transfer to the same device. For example, you could not restore an iPhone from the backup of an iPad and have photos transfer; it would need to be another iPad. Other restrictions for "cross-device" restores include:

Upgrading: RH7 separate product or Tech Comms Suite

Hi Everybody,
I'm at a point now where I'm looking to upgrade to RH7. I
also need a copy of Captivate due to some deadlines that have been
set against me. These are the main two products I'm looking at.
What I really want to know is who, on this forum, have upgraded to
RH7 as a separate product and who has delved in to the Tech Comms
Suite? Are there any gotchas?
I already have RH X5, which was an upgrade of an upgrade, and
Framemaker 6.0, which I haven't actually had a reason to use since
I joined the company. However, I was wondering if it's worth
upgrading to the Tech Comms Suite based on the Framemaker 6.0
product. What I can't find on the website is how does this upgrade
work? Would I receive a brand new version of RH7, CP3 and Acrobat3D
and an upgrade version of Framemaker 8?
The offer of all these products in one suite seems too good
to be true. What happens when just one product is upgraded? What
happens if I then decide that I have no use whatsoever for
Framemaker? Are all the products in the Tech Comms Suite full and
proper versions? So many questions... I searched for answers but
couldn't find any other posts relating to this, so if there is a
discussion going on elsewhere then please do point me in that
direction.

Unless you have some pre-existing experience with Captivate,
you may find it hard to get all the way up to speed on that product
quickly. You may want to look at subscribing to Lynda.com for a
month and taking their on-line course. It's Captivate 2, but I'm

As with RandiWrite, I upgraded from RoboHelp X5 (alone; I
didn't have any of the other products in the suite though I have
CS3 including Acrobat Pro) to TCS. I called Adobe Support for
confirmation that I was eligible before buying the product, and
they advised that I was. I had no trouble at all installing the
suite.

Essentially you just get a full install package with the
whole TC suite on it. I opted for the download from the Adobe store
rather than the boxed version since it was slightly cheaper and I
was impatient to get it. (Also, they don't deliver to PO Boxes
which is the only way I could get delivery since I'm seldom in one
place long enough for a courier to find me.) I think that the
install procedure checks that you have the existing programs on
there, then away it goes and puts the new ones on as well. It
didn't remove X5 on my computer; I could do that myself without,
I'm pretty sure, any untoward effect on version 7; I just haven't
bothered yet.
I seem to recall that when I upgraded to PhotoShop CS3 I had
CS2 on one of my two computers but not the other. (I think it was
on my notebook but not my desktop.) I was able to install CS3 on
the desktop without having to install CS2 first; as I recall, it
asked me for some kind of identifying code first to verify that I
was already a licenced owner of CS2. (Sorry to be so vague, it was
a while ago now.) My point is that Adobe has its act together (in
my experience) at letting you do upgrades from older packages.
HOWEVER, RoboHelp X5wasn't an Adobe product at the time and doing
the upgrade without having the X5 package installed may be more
problematic. This is academic in your case since it IS installed.

Considering buying my first HP Product.

So I need to a laptop for school, im tired of literally packing up my entire gaming computer system/tower every weekend. I have always had gaming towers and im used to fast PC's. This HP Pavilion DV7-6197CA has struck my eye because its cheap and fast =) After I sell my tower I will have two 60GB Patriot Inferno SSD's leftover. I was going to contact newegg to see if I can order the laptop at a discounted price if I could purchase it without the two 500GB drives.
My question is.
Is there any hacked up hardware raid available for this laptop, do you think there every will be?
Im ok running two SSD's. But having a 111GB raid would make the laptop seems that much more amazing.
Also if I cannot raid, I assume the laptop comes not raided as well in its 500x2 Configuration?

Upgrade Price Speculations Production Premium CS5.5 to CS6?

Anyone have an idea of the cost to upgrade from Production Premium CS5.5 to CS6? Right now you can buy the updgrade from CS5 to CS5.5 for $399 + 10% off until the 15th. If you buy the CS5 to CS5.5 upgrade now, you get CS6 for free. Wonder if buying the CS5 to CS5.5 upgrade with a free copy of CS6 for $360 will be cheaper than the CS5.5 to CS6 upgrade. If you are still on CS5, seems like a not brainer. Thoughts?

BUT - I like your question, and I want to try to give you some advice if I can so here goes.
You're likely to see that the upgrade price for the boxed/download version of Production Premium CS6 isn't much different than what you're seeing now for the intermediate "upgrade now, save later" type offers.
For me, I'm holding on to see what the final pricing and layout is for Creative Cloud. Probably looking at that costing me a bit more over the short run based on my current Adobe purchasing history, but there's supposed to be quite a bit of extra goodness in there so probably worthwhile.
If you have a money back guarantee wherever you're purchasing, you can always buy now, don't open it, then return it in a week or so if pricing is announced and it makes a difference.
If you think you'd have a use for the Creative Cloud, you may want to wait. The preliminary pricing listed by Adobe is $49/month for annual subscribers. Maybe it'll be discounted for 1-year if you already own CS5 or CS5.5 versions of one of the suites. Dunno. Probably more info within the next 7 days.
